Nice little nook with the hottest cappuccino I have had which was great. Son had avocado on rye which had lots of flavour which he loved. I had bacon eggs benedict, eggs were cooked perfectly. Would have liked a little more char on my bacon which was a little rubbery for my taste but that's just me being fussy. Service was adequate if not overly friendly but to be fair it was quite busy. Prices were reasonable for the good quality.

Lovely staff and honestly so glad I chose to come here for my first breakfast in Australia, I've come from England and had to try their food and wasn't let down. The hulk juice was so tasty also, I may return before I leave!

Busy place with brisk business on a Sunday morning. Food is good and I love their popcorn chicken with scrambled eggs! Next to the beautiful Victoria Garden. Highly recommend!

Hubby and I ordered a kinky burger and chicken burgers. The burgers were huge and delicious but the chips were over cooked and too dry. Couldn't eat them

Great coffee! Girl serving on Sunday 7/8/22 was great! Girl making coffees on the Monday morning 8/8/22 had zero customer service skills, very short with customers didn’t even look at them…. Little disappointed.

Attended for breakfast Sat 7. Very disappointed. Coffee watery and not nice. Had eggs Benedict nice for a start but too rich as went on owing to the croissant base. Wife asked for the bruschetta but minus the eggs. No change in price oh well but the standard was dreadful with large pieces of red onion which over rode everything. Price for what we received and the quality of coffee and food means we certainly won’t be back again.

The only good thing was the coffee. The staff at the front counter was unfriendly and unwelcoming. Food was below average. I had the Croissant with bacon, spinach, poached egg and hollandaise sauce. The croissant tasted old and it was extremely dry. The bacon was too cripsy and hard. My friend had the Popcorn Chicken Benedict and that tasted really good.

It's been a while since I've had a super tasty breakfast, so I was very pleased to have had "The French Benny" for Brunch. I have to say it was one of the best Eggs Benedict's I've ever tasted! The coffee was pretty good too. Also, it was dog friendly - always a plus. On the downside, It's a shame they didn't have a toilet. I wouldn't have wanted to use the general public toilet outside. This means in future visits I wouldn't be able stay as long as I would like.

My family with very new baby visited the restaurant for breakfast today . One word, EXCELLENT. The menu was absolutely amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we ordered. We will definitely return. It is our new favourite. We shall be trying lunch the next time. The Coffee is the best I have had anywhere in Perth had to have 2 cups. Service was very professional and friendly. Thank you Kinky Lizard

We just had a coffee stop at Claisebrook Cove and found this quaint little corner cafe on Royal street that serves superb coffee in a fantastic cosy atmosphere. We didn’t have brekkie this time but it did look awesome as the wait staff serves it out.

Brilliant little cafe! I order the Big Kinky Breakfast. It came out fast, hot, and well made. The beans were made in house in their own sauce, the eggs were perfect, just as I asked for them to be as well. I also ordered and iced mocha. Often they’re really sweet or bitter, but it was just right. The owner (presumably) was also very lovely and was kind enough to offer me a free pastry, which was also delicious. Very impressed! Definitely will be back!

What a great little place. It’s really popular but very efficiently run. Met a girlfriend for breakfast which was huge and delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and we didn’t have to wait long even with the cafe being very busy. The staff were very friendly. There is limited street parking and a small pay parking spot facing the park.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kinky Lizard, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I stepped foot into the café, I was captivated by its charming ambiance. The warm and inviting atmosphere instantly made me feel at ease, and I knew I was in for a treat. One of the highlights of my visit was undoubtedly the great coffee they served. As a coffee enthusiast, I am always on the lookout for a good cup of joe, and Kinky Lizard did not disappoint. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and each sip was a burst of rich and flavorful goodness. It was evident that they take great pride in their coffee, and it truly showed in every cup. The service at Kinky Lizard was also top-notch. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that I had everything I needed throughout my visit. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had and even offered recommendations from their menu. Their genuine warmth and hospitality added an extra layer of enjoyment to my experience. What truly sets Kinky Lizard apart is its cozy and private setting. The café is designed in such a way that it feels like a hidden gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The comfortable seating arrangements and soft lighting create a sense of intimacy, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a quiet moment alone or with a loved one. Overall, my time at Kinky Lizard was nothing short of exceptional. The ambiance, great coffee, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere all contributed to a truly memorable experience. Whether you're looking for a place to relax, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a delicious cup of coffee, I highly recommend paying a visit to Kinky Lizard. You won't be disappointed.

Exceptional... This dining / coffee experience is perfectly set & inline with the surrounding area... It not only looks great, the service is fantastic & all with a genuine smile... Then the food 😋 I can only say was 10 out of 10 and so was the coffee... Thank you all will totally be back and suggest anyone in the area this a MUST to experience.

Here to grab a quick breakfast. Sandwich and Latte were great. Indoor sitting is small and can feel tight. Service was reasonable fast and sandwiches was good. Recommend this place which opens early on weekends.

The portion sizes are big, and the cuisine is often fairly delicious. The service was pleasant, swift, and to the point, with empty bowls, plates, and glasses being cleared quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to returning.

Great coffee, friendly service and such incredible food. We stayed nearby and had coffee everyday and kept coming back for the delicious food every other day. I'll be dreaming of these breakfasts for a long time!

I ordered a vegetarian wrap (scrambled eggs, mushrooms, etc.) which looked appetizing until I saw several maggots squirming in the food. I had to request a refund and was handed cash with no apologies, which I thought was pretty poor service. They clearly have enough foot traffic to not worry about losing a customer for serving contaminated food, but there is no way I will go back

Kinky Lizard is an East Perth mainstay and serves fresh, delicious food from Royal Street and Adelaide Terrace cafes. The coffee is favoured by many locals and it is well patronised at all hours. The owner is friendly, professional and hardworking. Recommended.

They store potting mix inside the shop and leave the milk crates out in the sun? ☀️ I told the girls it was against health and safety regulations and when I came back 3hrs later to ask why it was still there they offered me the owners phone number? Needless to say that they should be the one's to call the owner about it. After all it's their job to keep the place complient not mine! After I stepped out of the shop they all huddled together to giggle about it. Very immature. The owner needs to stop employing children at his shop if they want to stay open.

Staff friendly, no problem there. However, the passion fruit cheesecake ( which is supplied outside of cafe) I questioned whether fresh, manager said, I’ve just eaten a slice”…… I was given a refund. Coffee was nice. Here’s the thing.. There are other cafes, walking distance, that bake in house.

My partner and I have always loved coffee here but there is a Chinese guy who is really unprofessional, we ordered 2 coffees and Escargot, when we started ordering he just left us and went to take a few cups! he also forgot to give us a table number, then he brought our coffees and put them on the tables reluctantly. We waited a while but he forgot to bring the escargot and cutleries (there was no cutleries on the table)We had to stay on the line again to take the scarlet. a nice lady helped and apologized instead of him He just ignored us.

We are Melbourne tourist and this cafe food and coffee was top notch, couldn't fault it. The food was so well cooked, tasty and presented nicely. Loved the local newspaper baking paper under the brekkie roll. Even the coffee matched the meal, just as good as some of Melbourne very best. Loved the warm/hot coffee just the way I like it and excellent coffee blend.

Never been here before. Asked a waitress if I should sit down and they'll take my order? She said yes. I waited. No one came. Went to the register and she said I was meant to order at the front then sit down. Perhaps some training around welcoming guests warmly and setting their expectation about what your service style is like would help. I walked out without ordering.

Quaint local Cafe in the leafy part of East Perth, with the waterside & Swan River just a hop, skip & a jump away ... Coffee is tidy, and Menu appealing ... Take-away, or relax a little and eat at the Lizard - seating inside or outside, either rather pleasant & chilled ! Enjoy & get kinky at the Lizard 🦎

My review is for outstanding service by Steph today. There was a confusion and mistake regarding our order and she handled our feedback with grace and empathy which has retained us as the customer as otherwise we wouldn't have returned back ever. An example of good customer service which needs to be recognized. Keep it up.

Breakfast was a really good experience for us, the place was pumping due to the public holiday but the food was hot and fresh and the coffee was at the perfect temperature for us, the bean was a good roast and the milk was silky smooth, can’t really ask for more from a cafe! Plus being able to bring a dog here is a win!

  • 4/5 David B. 2 years ago on Google
The coffee was pretty good but it was so hot that I had to wait for it to cool down before I could risk not burning my insides. I had the kinky breakfast which I enjoyed but the bean portion was quite small and the eggs were over cooked 😔 I found the one staff member very friendly and the place to be a nice spot

Went there for breakfast this morning with my husband and two kids, cute cosy little cafe with plenty of seating and very reasonably priced menu. It was a very busy morning, though we managed to get a table inside which was lovely, we ordered and then it just seemed to go downhill from there, we waited for almost an hour for our food and drinks (coffee and baby chinos) to be served, we watched as countless people who ordered after us were served before us and as many people were served the wrong order. There was no cutlery on the tables and there seemed to be a shortage of it too. After this experience I’d be unlikely to go back or recommend this place to anyone. Poor customer service all over.

Good food and coffee. It would be nice if there was a little bit more of the shaded umbrella in the outdoor area. It was a hot and slightly windy day and we had heaps of leaves/pollen like thing fall down on us and some even got in our food. But overall a great cute little cafe. Definitely worth checking out.

I am not one to complain or write reviews usually but today was horrible. Went for brekky today for my mums birthday. We had spoken via messenger and called up to book but they had no booking for us. Then then menu was a 'Holiday menu' which just meant half what they had displayed online and not advertised anywhere. When we ordered I asked for the special on the board which they weren't serving at all so I don'tknow why it was being displayed. Then asked for a benedict without hollandaise sauce and hard boiled eggs as I am pregnant. My food came out covered in sauce which I explained I can't have. Two other meals came out and everyone else waited another 15 minutes. Staff made us feel like a nuisance when we had to ask for things like water and cutlery. Milkshake and ice coffee came out after the food. Mine came out last after everyone else were halfway done and I was starving. One of the two eggs were runny. There were no apologies at first an another 10 minute wait on the egg. Everyone else was long finished. The manager/owner I think did eventually appologise and give me a muffin but after I was finished eating. No one was very happy with their meals or how we were treated by the staff and it wasn't a nice birthday breakfast like we had hoped.
