Plenty of parking lots, still clean, shady, beautiful, Shallow waters for a long way - perfect for bubs and toddlers - much better than any other beach in Perth for beginner SUPs too, plenty of showers, toilets, pram and wheelchair friendly, restaurants/cafes/fish n chips and icecream. Even better at sunset when quieter. Weekend mornings best to come early if you need to book a bbq or gazebo. Popular for parties hangouts. The only thing that needs improving is a water bottle refill station at the Ship park end (there is one nearer jetty), as the newfangled water fountains are just awful for filling bottles with, even tho they look sleek.

It was quite a nice and very long beach to stroll around. We started around the pier and walked through Churchill Park and back along the beach. The sand was quite fine so it was nice to walk along it. The views of the sea were interesting since it looked like a port area with plenty of large ships and cranes. The beach was quite clean so it was quite pleasant. It was surprising to see a yacht on shore and it looked like it had shipwrecked there. It was something you don't see every day. There were also a few newish looking developments on the edge of the beach to sit and sunbathe or play on the play area on the Boardwalk/Pier side of the beach.

In need of a cooling dip in the ocean, my choice is the north end of the beach, good parking, undercover picnic tables, toilets and showers.

Gently shelving sandy beach perfect for children, a pier for fishing or jumping off into deep water and cafes with colourful sun shades make this a really attractive beach. Plenty of sitting areas if you just want to stop and gaze out to sea.

Great for families with young children. Toilets nearby, grill, seating, playground, shallow water and a drinking fountain all available. Beautiful ocean, but a pretty heavily industrialized area as well. Needs more shade though, nowhere to hide from the sun. Also snakes warning...

A beautiful family beach. There are extensive parks overlooking the ocean, providing shaded areas for picnics, along with a few bbq's and picnic tables. There are a number of play grounds for the little ones, a couple of toliet blocks, lots of parking and across the road from the beach there are several different restaurants and cafes including the classic fish and chip shop and a lolly shop for the kids. There's pathways all along the edge of the park over looking the beach, perfect for taking a stroll with the pram or a run with your dog. The beach itself is gorgeous white sand and the water is fairly shallow for some way, so it's wonderful for young children. I do recommend bringing some sort of sun shade if you intend to sit on the beach for any length of time as there's no shade structures available.

Favourite spot to be on days off. Had a picnic with the family and kids love the water. Fish and chips for lunch along with our own snacks. Lots of space to lay your mats or picnic chairs. Those visiting Rockingham, ought to spend a day at this beach. Plenty of cafes and restos for you to choose from. For halal food, there is a kebab store nearby too!

Love this beach! Every time I come here there's a new addition, I haven't been in a while so I was happy to see the pontoons way out deep but still an easy swim as my 10 year old made the distance with only a little bit of help. The beach is lovely and clean, there's some shade up on the grass but communal shade down on the sand would be a nice addition as it's easy to spend the entire day here. The water stays shallow for a long time and the waves are minimal, there's no rocks, but there are a few jellyfish. Out of a crowd of 10 people, 2 of them got stung. So not many, but still present. Heaps of places to eat within a two minute walk across the road. The fish and chip place was a little lacking in flavour, Nick's place is the best if you're looking for a kebab. Baskin Robbins is always packed with people but they get the ice creams out quick. And the kids love the big playground at the end of the day when we're done swimming. The bus runs late, 8:52pm was the last bus on a Saturday so we didn't have to worry about leaving early. Probably my favourite beach in Perth.

Me and my friends had a chill day at here. It was beautiful and so relax. You could take a nap besides the beach. One day we got to see the jellyfish and manta ray swim past too which was amazing.

The Community Festival was ok I liked the enormous lulu characters and I liked the Y outh music competition, and the judges were fair. The stage Sound man was terrible. He could have made a difference to the young musicans 3 minutes of fame, and he really needed a second person to assist him. I was a bit annoyed at parents not controlling their kids Numerous times kids aged around 5 to 10 year olds were bad, there were some that were trying to take the money out of the unattended gold coin tub numerous times, throwing frisbees at the stage at the TV monitor , throwing their balls around at the table, hitting us with them, I told them off of course, forcing some oler people shift tables, and their parents were watching.. Wow! Most food trucks were expensive, but that's up to you.

Very busy Friday night across every restaurant, shaded tables etc. Ruined by the marquees and fencing. Why can't that be further up the beach?

The good: - If you cannot swim, or would like to be safe, this is the beach for you. - The water is shallow for quite some distance from the shore. - Toilets - Outdoor shower The bad: - Limited toilets. May not be clean all the time. - Parking can be a challenge because the road next to the beach is a single lane road.

We visited this beach on our last trip to Perth (from the UK) and it was great for our toddler. Very calm water and shallow so he could paddle about without being knocked over. Beach was clean too.

Enjoy a relaxing walk along the beach, grass or eateries. Beautiful park space, easy access and variety of parking options available. Loved looking at the sculptures along the foreshore today!

I love walking here. The beach is clean, the sea air is fantastic and most people are friendly. I enjoy seeing the well-behaved dogs and blue mouth lizard sipping from the free water taps lol

  • 5/5 Jayson F. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely hands down the best foreshore in Perth, in all honesty one of the best spots in the world. Come down and have a lazy stroll on the beach relax and let the kids swim in the knee high water. Have a bite to eat at some great restaurants and watch the sun set and listen to the birds. Plenty of green grass and lovely trees. Long walking trails, good people mainly families.

It's a beautiful beach but you do need to keep an eye out for jellyfish on the beach and in the water when the wind is onshore in summer. Also a great local dive spot @ the wreck trail on the foreshore πŸ‘Œ

The beach area is perfect, sand is white as and the water is so clear and calm. Great for swimming and getting into all the cafes with sensible prices. Plus all the rocky coves and small beaches in this area are amazing.

I literally drive the beach at least 5 times a week. Sunsets and sunrises are always beautiful. Decent food paths so people arnt all over the road. Very popular and you get to see many beautiful dogs. Speed isn't to bad although sometimes you get stuck behind a real slow poke. Petrol stations are along the route and cafes if you want a coffee. I don't swim there but I have taken out my kayak a few times and its always lovely. Very popular with wind surfers when the conditions are right.

Rockingham has the best beaches in Perth, hands down. Rockingham beach with the foreshore, playgrounds, restaurants and cafes nearby is a great place to spend the day. The beach is always clean and usually very calm with clear water making it a perfect place to take the kids for a swim in summer.

This is such a beautiful beach. Clean sand and clear water. Massive long grass and trees parkland with a big playground. When I was there there was even access for a wheelchair to get down to the beach and onto the harder sand. Rockingham in general is a beautiful beachside town.

  • 5/5 Maria C. 4 years ago on Google
This is a lovely beach. There are parks on the beach front for much needed shelter and for playtime for little ones. The beach is crystal clear and is smooth and flat for safe playing and the perfect dip to cool off. The renovated beach front is perfect if you want a drink or food with an ocean view. There are shops on the street behind the beach . This is a beautiful beach and would suit every family.
