I'm
biased
because
I
live
here,
but
this
beach
is
lovely.
There's
a
nice
lookout
with
some
seats,
there's
water/shower
facilities
and
BBQs,
in
summer
on
the
weekends
there
is
Surf
Lifesavers.
It
is
part
of
the
Alkimos
Beach
Green
lifestyle
that
dictates
no
cafes
on
the
beach
front
and
a
set
percentage
of
bushland
be
set
aside
to
not
be
developed.
This
means
that
this
beach
is
now
and
will
remain
to
be
a
nice,
local
haven
away
from
the
overly
commercialised
beaches
like
Shorehaven
or
Eden
Beach,
no
disrespect
-
they're
lovely
beaches
themselves,
but
this
beach
is
more
of
a
natural
experience,
with
only
the
bare
amenities.
Apart
from
toilets,
that's
a
bit
of
a
let
down.
Because
there
is
so
much
bushland
set
aside
here,
you
are
likely
to
see
Kangaroos,
Emus,
Reptiles,
one
time
I
even
saw
an
Echidna
crossing
the
road!
The
beach
itself
has
a
considerable
amount
of
sand
between
the
dunes
and
the
shore,
the
underwater
landscape
is
sandy
with
no
reef
and
since
it
is
more
of
a
point
than
a
bay,
the
seaweed
accumulation
is
kept
to
a
minimum.
I,
like
many
West
Australians
grew
up
on
the
coast,
and
this
beach
is
a
great
throw
back
to
those
times.
