I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with the club's lack of action in addressing and preventing a recent incident that occurred to me there. Despite being advertised as a private members club, it fails to live up to that standard. I was shocked to discover that my shoes were stolen from the women's lockers. Naturally, I assumed this must be a mistake, as I never expected such an incident to happen in a supposedly exclusive establishment. Upon inquiring at the reception, I was informed that there are no security cameras anywhere on the club premises, making it impossible for them to identify who was present during the time of the theft. I had to repeatedly call them to inquire about any progress made in locating my shoes, but all they did was print a small notice on an A4 paper, which I barely noticed, knowing that it would be displayed in the lockers. This notice remained posted for two weeks before being removed, without anyone reaching out to me or providing any resolution. It is absolutely unheard of that a public place, frequented by hundreds of people, does not have a security camera system in place. As a contractual member, I feel unsafe being on the premises of this club. The cleanliness of the place is also questionable, with the sauna being cleaned perhaps once a month. It looks and smells bad.

I have been a member of Next Gen fitness club in Kings Park for almost 5 years and i have seen a lot of postive changes since last year that has sustained and improved overall service to the clients. The swimming school has rolled out structure and framework where I see value in time we are spending at the classes , tennis classes and sessions are well managed , gym Equipment have been upgraded and now rooftop pool and terrace has renovated to accommodate well deserved relaxing time in luxury. Thank you team and keep up the good work.

I have been with Next Gen Kings Park for over 8 years and I have watched it downgrade significantly. Other than a wonderful view from the roof top pool and a great number of facilities here is just a small list of what makes this place not nearly worthy of its price. 1. always some problem with the steam 2. dirty carpets rubbish left lying around for weeks, disgusting MOULD and GRIME all over pool with LOSE TILES 3. facilities switched off 30 mins before closure 4. poor investment into repairs and minor details ignored 5. very expensive Overall needs great improvement, very disappointed with these changes and highly reconsidering my membership.

STAY AWAY - AVOID - STAY AWAY A constant stream of new faces as they desperately "churn and burn" their customer base to stay afloat. For the first few weeks they will fall over themselves to deliver the service, after this initial phase they seem to just not want you there. This appears to be an actual goal - to upset customers so much they stop going! But they are very careful to lock you into a contract which means you cannot stop paying! Naturally the actual product delivered by a company willing to stoop to such a level is so poor as to be next to useless and anyone discerning not on a retiree foundation package quickly moves on. Just look at the appalling state of repair of the hard surface tennis courts. STAY AWAY - AVOID - STAY AWAY

My children attend the swimming classes here. There have been huge improvements recently. Joanne has the classes operating smoothly with great communication. The class sizes are small and the pool isn't too busy so the atmosphere is relatively calm. The pool area is now well lit and inviting.

Next Gen is more than a gym/tennis club. They regularly offer social functions. Members Christmas lunch - food was excellent and plentiful. Music duo played pleasing tunes.

This is a very poorly managed club! Today I wanted to renew my son's membership and it took a whole 2 days for a staff member to call back with a price for annual student membership- $1600 for one year, as opposed to $1200 for 2021... 25% increase with no explanation or benefits. The only reason the cocky sales manager called me back was that I sent a message to their Facebook page, guess where he spends the majority of his time when he should be looking after customers (he had no manners, unfortunately)! No fitness appraisal is offered, and wet areas are unclean and overall has become unprofessional over the 3 years we've been coming here. High staff turnover (i.e. Personal training staff, reception etc.) says a lot about this business. Have now found a wonderful gym that is clean, popular and offers a whole lot more... shop around my friends 😃

worst place ever - DIRTY, UNFRIENDLY, UNPROFESSIONAL - no wonder they can't repay their bond holders... The staff is so ignorant and not interested to sell a membership at all. - They even do not want to hand out the price structure or any brochure they have... probably already preparing for closing the place. the guy told me I should take a photo of that with my phone.. OMG disgusting! . The guy that showed me around was not interested in selling a membership at all - the place was nearly empty, it was dirty, old, rund down and did stink! Calling at the gym is also useless - they can't handle a phone call. And very very arrogant!!!!!

Our children attend the swim school within Next Gen. Joanne and her team of instructors are wonderful and very professional. Our childrens' skills have improved immensely and their confidence in the water has skyrocketed since starting here only a few months ago. I would highly recommend these classes to other parents.

The adult swimming classes run by Joanne Jolly are great and we have learn't a lot. The small, friendly classes are very enjoyable.

I’ve been a member for some time. The classes, gym staff & facilities in every area have really improved recently thanks to a new management team. It’s an excellent club run professionally from top to bottom.

Been member for about 4 years. Nice facility, professional and helpful staffs. However, there are arrogant and rude pennant tennis players from time to time on the tennis courts. Some of them are non-next gen members from other clubs according to the staffs. Had an occasion where our Court bookings were not honoured due to these rude pennant players refusing to leave (even yelled at us). Made me have a second thought about paying rather expensive membership fees. Next gen management should really do something to regulate these issues.

Joanne and her team have done an excellent job in revamping the swim program at Next Gen. In 18 months, my child has gone from being afraid to put their head under water to swimming a full lap of the pool!

The club facilities are first class. The staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome. The personal trainers are knowledgeable and assist you through their sessions to help you achieve your goals. My trainer Alison is firm and fair and makes me want to achieve. Thanks heaps.

Heavenly! Reminds me of all the best health clubs I've belonged to over the years on the Gold Coast. Like the golden door, it has spiritual meditation classes. It has views of the city while riding the gym bikes. There are trees outside the windows of the group classes room. It's central and surrounded by nature. I love the roof top pool. I'm meeting top people from all over the world. I love the communality of the Cafe, the lift, the change rooms. People are friendly. The staff are excellent and after 3 weeks I am feeling better than ever from the classes, my gym work outs and the help from the free Body scan and advice from the PT provided. I feel taken care of in lots of ways which I didn't at Goodlife. I am so happy to have my dream to join Next Generation a reality !

Next Gen ticks all the boxes, gym, tennis club, squash courts, reformer studio, two swimming pools, spa, sauna, steam and a licensed restaurant/cafe. They have regular functions/musicians and you can even book the rooftop pool area for parties. Membership here is an easy choice as there is no other club with that offering. Fees are comparable or less than F45 or boxing, but obviously offering a whole lot more. Smiling staff are just a bonus. Brendan (member 2 years)

Best Gym, Swimming Pool and Tennis Club. Hygiene is too notch, heaps of group classes, fantastically big gym, 20m long swimming pool and heaps of tennis court. It’s the perfect consortium of a resort style health club. Perfect gateway for even a family healthy outing.

The WORST gym I have EVER been to. I contracted tinea from their spa and pool area. Not only that, but I asked them to freeze my membership as I was leaving a domestic violence relationship and my abuser goes there. They still continued to take money out of my account despite me needing it. Absolutely disgusting company and truly do not care about the wellbeing of their members- just a cash grab. DESPICABLE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

    * original post left below for transperancy. Received a call from the GM today. He was helpful and understanding of the situation. Explained the challenges the club faced through Covid and efforts to renew the equipment and amenities and will be looking in to the situation regarding the staff. Changed from 1* to 3*. Will re-evaluate as to if I continue with my membership on my return. Member here for years. The place is falling apart and the staff are rude beyond belief. Tried to put my membership on hold as I was going away and it was like I was asking the lady on the phone to sacrifice her first born child. Tried to put my membership on hold at reception for the dates I would be travelling last week, however they were uninterested and just told me to call before I leave... So I called today and reception basically just repeated "no you can't its direct debit day today" about 3 times. No actual care or understanding or consideration for my situation or why I had to go away. This place rinses you for money but does not care when you raise any concerns with the club facilities or membership related issues. I will be cancelling.

I never write reviews but feel compelled to alert potential customers to the lack of customer loyalty and care at this club i experienced recently. Having been a happy and loyal member for over 10 years and investing what must be north of 20, 000 in that time I introduced my partner and was told (mistakenly it turns out) by their sales staff twice that this type of introduction would attract a $100 gift voucher at the club. For clarity. It was their mistake to make this verbal commitment in error to us twice in the lead up to our committing. It was not a misunderstanding on my part. I asked the question “ will this type of membership still attract the $100 voucher” twice and was told yes. When I noticed the funds hadn’t reached my account I followed it up in February. After ignoring a couple of my emails and long delays in others and lots of irrelevant excuses they gave me half of what they had originally committed to me as a “good will gesture” last week, over two months later. I laughed my head off when I read that! So they have saved themselves 50 dollars and paid in wasted management and staff time, numerous email requests, grumpy customer …… and a bad review. Go figure.

Got my gold membership at Next Gen. Pretty well wrapped benefit for the price. When you all about wellness to the fullest, Next Gen is definitely the best in town! Rooftop pool + sun-bed + city views. Posh! That's how we balance life. Cheers, Next Gen

Exceptional views of the city make you want to run longer on the treadmill. The swimming pool on the roof with the same view surrounded by trees is absolutely gorgeous. :-). Very good coffee and menu at the caffe. If I was to manage this place I’d focus on customer service which in my view could be a bit better, and look at upgrading some of the equipment.

In this clean gym, you can focus on your fitness goals without any distractions or concerns about cleanliness. It's a space where hygiene is a top priority, making it a comfortable and safe environment for all gym-goers.

This is my home away from home. Having recently returned as a member I was impressed with the improvements made. Initially there was a little hiccup with my card, but the management team contacted me within a day and resolved the matter right away. Kudos to the team and keep up the good work.

EDIT: phone call received from sales manage clarifying the below. Adam explained the deal that was being offered in much more robust and clarified manner- Thank you mate appreciate your time and effort to ensure proper customer satisfaction. Rating changed. Next Gen running a 'flash' and 'unique' one day sale- details of which can be found on their social media platforms. I requested a call back to understand the package more, its marketed as one day flash sale and unique offer but i was offered the EXACT same deal a few weeks ago. The sales guy had nothing to say when I pointed this out to him and acted very haughty stating ' nah thats it mate' really poor service and execution and transparency. Ill be sure this is pursued in my networks and colleagues if they ever are interested in the facilities.

Great all in one health club. Gym, sauna, steam room and 2 pools including roof top. From our initial tour around the gym with Matt who was very friendly and informative through to the personal trainers our experience have been first rate.

This place is amazing, complete all in one. The indoor and rooftop pools are both so lovely even just for a sunbathing day, love having the steam room, sauna and jacuzzi after a tough workout. The gym has really good equipment, well maintained and the trainers are lovely - my personalised program from Brenda is great. Matt who did our tour & sign up was amazing very friendly and helpful, answered any questions and sorted everything with ease! Highly, highly recommend :)

Best thing i ever did was join this club. There are so many classes to choose from and gym equipment is top notch.Getting fit and strong has actually been fun. The social part of the club is amazing, i have met so many wonderful people at this club. There are always social functions to go to. Highly recommend Next Generation.

Such a Fantastic place, the rooftop pool speaks for itself!! A little paradise hidden in Kings Park. Amazing staff and atmosphere. Have been a member for years, there’s no place better!! The Creche facilities are wonderful, great events throughout the year and love the tennis ❤️

Best Tennis courts to play at, lovely Reformer Studio and variety of Fitness classes on the Timetable, adding a great coffee and beautiful location to all of this, definitely worth a five star.

Very disappointed. 4 large flying cockroaches spotted on the rooftop pool deck and not the first time I’ve seen them. One spotted in indoor pool a couple months ago as well; please call an exterminator 🥴🤢

Terrible management. I had my daughter on the waitlist to start swimming lessons for 4 months. I was emailed and told we were starting in January. The class was then filled and I was told I was not able to start because a new employee had taken over the swimming department and was not honoring the waitlist. The swimming coordinator was never contactable and never responded to the messages I had left. I have left several messages for the general manager to contact me, called almost daily and no one has even rang me back. So unprofessional and absolutely terrible service!

The facilities are quite clean and very good equipment and lovely staff/ trainers and teachers. It is very disappointing there is no containers for change in place and recycling of PET bottles, cans and packaging in the cafe/ restaurant area. This does not meet one's expectations for a state of the art fitness and tennis/ squash club located in a beautiful Nature environment such as Kings Park where we need to protect the wildlife and reduce waste (especially plastic) as much as possible. There should also be a bin placed near the carpark as there is often debris here or in the nature strip and no where to place it :(

I really look forward to going to Next Gen Kings Park, with great facilities, excellent equipment and classes, and professional staff. All within a beautiful setting in Kings Park.

I've been attending this facility for over 3 years now and feel like I've found my 2nd home. The facilities are predominantly of a very high standard, staff are always friendly and the views from the rooftop looking over Kings Park, world class. I attend almost every day playing tennis, squash or just to use the cafe for meals or meetings. Most importantly, I've realised my pre-conceived notion the place would be full of snobs given it's premium location, was mostly unfounded. Very much a country club feel with most saying hello after they see your smile often enough. Loving it.

  • 5/5 Nora K. 1 year ago on Google
Great classes and nice location. I love greenery view from studio. All yoga instructors were excellent. Jacuzzi is right temperature and people were friendly. It seems most negative online reviews about this gym is about unclear pricing and sales style. Adam H. explained professionally on the first day and I had good impression. I joined 7days trial and it is shame they have min.3 month membership contract. If there’s no min. Contract and no penalties, I would have joined for sure as only certain month of the year(Sep/Oct and April/May) I normally goes to gym in Perth😐 if you have monthly membership plan, please let me know🦘

I had a very expensive poor quality meal here. My drink arrived 20 minutes after the main course and only after I asked for it twice. I had to contend with the sound of sweaty men on pilates machines right next to my table. Which was very off putting and I was surprised that they charge so much when you are basically eating on the floor of a gym. Quite a trashy, lower end place these days unfortunately.
