Amazing camping area so close to the city, yet far enough away to make it feel like you are really getting away. Excellent facilities, including powered sites, sheltered food preparation area, and full toilet and shower facilities. Combined with the lake itself, the awesome picnic areas, and facilities this is a must stop

Beautiful, peaceful family haven. Canoe hire and cafe, plenty of parking and better still, no motorised boats allowed on the lake. Set amongst lush bush and mature trees, an oasis close to home!

Beautiful campground at the lake. Good warm shower, all is very clean. Bench and tables everywhere. BBQ. The lady from the reception so friendly and helpful, amazing. 20 Dollar the night. Becareful with the birds, they want steal your food out of the hand. So quiet in the night wunderbar.

Superb campsite just north of Chidlow next to an expansive lake! You can canoe and kayak and swim there, but they don't do canoe hire during off-peak, which is a shame. Camp coordinators are nice enough, and the camp hosts we had were most accommodating and friendly. Thanks Andrew and Fran! Hot water is readily available and facilities have power and automated lighting, which is rad. The wildlife are largely accustomed to humans and voracious. Camp fees are a little steep now, at $40 for a tent site, with additional 11 per adult or 6.80 per child. Also they lock the gate up at sundown so it's a little troublesome getting in after dark. That said, the view and the atmosphere is outstanding. Birds are bloody noisy, even at night, but the highlight is getting to light your own fire in your own fire pit (which you can't in the summer).

Great location. Tent camp sites are all compact pea gravel and really hard so youโ€™ll need heavy duty pegs and/ or a drill- would be better to have a shade cloth base for the tents. Staff are friendly and itโ€™s a bonus having a nice cafe right on the doorstep. For the price you pay the shower block needs a revamp- missing basics like shelves and multiple hooks in all shower cubicles. The camp fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ is a win. Itโ€™s a really tight camp so expect to hear all the talking and other sounds that other campers may make. All in all a nice spot to camp but for the money better facilities required.

It's really nice place. Camp site staffs are very kind and friendly. Toilets and kitchen are clean. Also be able to take shower. I was going to take astronomy pics near lake at night but it was little bit dangerous because of birds. If u want take astronomy pic, should be careful lol. I took pic at #2. I think #3 and #12,13 are bigger and flat sites than another sites

It's so calming to be able to pack up and head here for a few nights. Conveniently close to Perth with really lovely staff and gorgeous location. Plenty of activities or simply perfect for doing nothing at all.

Great place for swimming or just a picnic. Beautiful water. Sectioned off area for swimmers if you don't want to be near the kayaks and SUP's. Small pontoon for jumping off. Clean water. Lots of bird life. Trees spotted around for shade. Not many bbqs available.

Used to be a great place. Now taken over by bogans. Rangers mostly complicit or missing in action. Not safe for kids. Kids throwing stones at birds and wildlife in front of rangers. Unbelievable. And camping prices are ridiculous especially for the substandard rangers that control the place.

Short drive from Perth and has most of the facilities including hot shower and drinking water. It was a peaceful and relaxing setting. The lake was awesome and the kids had a great time. The camp host was excellent host and is always helpful for the camp goers. Thanks.

Lake is awesome. Abulution block needs attention. Always very dirty and never any toilet paper. Camp sites could do with a mesh base put down as it very Sandy and dusty.

It's definitely a nice place to be out and about. But there's a risk of an amoeba when the weather is around 35 ยฐC so be aware of it. Clean picnic areas, and camping sites and is just 50 min from Perth! You gotta check it out

Stayed overnight after a 2 day hike, paid $80 for a small, hard camp-site, facilities weren't bad, kitchen was well kept. The lake facilities and recreational facilities were great, very little litter and the rules were well enforced while being reasonable

We went on a scout camp, arrived early Saturday stayed for one night . Site 23 was great for us it's an unpowered site, with lots of room to set up our kitchen and shelter plus our tents. Only downside is the ablution block in up some rocky steps through some bush, or walk around on the road. Wasn't an issue but we were mindful of "wildlife " in the bush so opted to walk around on the road. We were aware of this when we booked so it wasn't a surprise. Facilities are great and as we brought our own kayaks we spent the afternoon on the lake. There is also bush walking, and there are mountain bike trails. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
