The
education
system
in
high
school
is
great,
minus
the
fact
that
there
is
constant
pressure
put
on
ATAR
students.
As
an
ATAR
student
in
both
Year
11
and
12
I
was
never
asked
about
my
mental
health
or
given
any
resources
to
make
me
feel
as
though
the
school
cared
about
my
well-being.
Some
of
the
class
rooms
are
clean
and
nice
to
be
in,
whilst
others
are
disgusting.
The
maths
demountable
rooms
constantly
smell,
there
is
gum
under
the
desks
and
the
desks
are
old
and
unsanitary.
Some
of
the
teachers
here
are
amazing
and
really
do
care
about
your
mental
health
but
most
don’t
from
my
experience.
Some
teachers
like
Mrs
Hebiton
only
chase
you
up
on
your
poor
grades
when
you’re
bringing
down
class
averages
or
if
you're
wearing
incorrect
uniform.
I
was
one
of
many
students
constantly
being
picked
on
by
her
and
felt
she
was
very
rude,
condescending
and
intimidating.
The
house
centre
and
its
leaders
act
as
though
they
will
help
you
and
be
there
for
you.
Yet
the
only
time
the
house
centre
cares
or
tries
to
check
up
on
you
is
when
they
are
telling
you
off
for
things
like
being
late
to
school.
I
have
never
had
a
mental
health
check
up
from
the
House
Centre
and
I
was
at
this
school
from
Year
7-12
despite
telling
many
teachers
how
stressed
I
was.
Yet
I’d
constantly
have
to
come
in
for
meetings
over
uniform
and
I
once
got
in
trouble
just
for
coming
late
to
school
twice
in
one
week.
Even
the
‘Dean
of
Students’
doesn’t
check
up
on
you
for
your
mental
health.
Instead
she
bans
music
(which
the
entire
lower
high
school
agreed
helped
them
with
concentration)
and
makes
uniform
rules
stricter.
From
my
experience
bringing
issues
to
the
house
centre
also
only
makes
them
worse,
as
they
fail
to
understand
situations,
especially
conflict
between
friends.
I
was
bullied
by
a
girl
in
Year
7
and
instead
of
punishing
her
for
writing
my
phone
number
in
the
school
toilets
they
made
us
sit
across
from
each
other
to
try
and
‘talk
things
out’
which
only
made
the
situation
worse.
The
uniform
is
an
issue
at
this
school
because
some
teachers
don’t
care
at
all
if
you
wear
“hoops
too
big”
or
“double
earrings”
and
will
in
fact
compliment
them
or
ignore
them,
whilst
others
will
yell
at
you
and
give
you
detentions.
The
inconsistency
of
telling
students
off
for
uniforms
is
a
big
issue
in
my
opinion.
Prior
to
the
renovation
of
the
canteen
bathrooms
the
walls
were
covered
with
nasty
comments,
calling
teachers
fat
and
doing
votes
on
what
girl
is
the
biggest
s**
in
the
year,
etc.
These
comments
summarise
the
social
atmosphere
as
a
whole
from
my
experience
as
most
girls
are
mean,
gossiping
and
exclusive.
I
have
had
several
friends
leave
this
school
due
to
the
bullying/
gossiping
amongst
girls.
The
football
academy
is
filled
with
misbehaved
boys
who
sexualise
teachers
and
fellow
students.
I
am
one
of
many
females
who
has
dealt
with
rude,
sexualising
comments
for
years
mainly
coming
from
the
academy
boys.
Considering
they're
supposed
to
attain
'high
grades'
to
keep
their
scholarships,
most
tend
to
be
extremely
loud
and
disrupting
during
class
(from
mine
and
most
of
my
year
group's
experience.)
Even
during
the
Year
12
Netball
Gradslam,
many
of
the
academy
boys
made
comments
about
all
of
the
female
teacher's
bodies.
Most
teachers
also
fail
to
notice
the
homophobic
and
sexist
culture
the
football
academy
has
brought
but
I
definitely
noticed
the
social
changes
that
happened
once
the
football
academy
was
introduced
in
this
school
a
few
years
ago.
As
someone
who
has
had
struggled
with
maths
I
never
received
a
good
level
of
help
even
after
expressing
that
I
was
struggling
for
years.
Especially
in
Year
12,
teachers
rushed
through
course
work
and
failed
to
help
students.
There
is
a
‘maths
club’
in
which
one
teacher
tries
to
manage
about
15
students,
including
Year
9’s
and
10’s
who
go
there
simply
to
mess
around.
These
are
just
some
of
the
issues
I
faced
whilst
at
this
school
for
5
years
and
I
honestly
think
LJBC
requires
many
social
changes.
