I
was
transferred
over
to
Stirling
Lakes
Medical
Centre
from
Odin
Rd
Medical
when
the
two
practices
amalgamated.
Despite
it
being
further
away
from
my
home,
I
was
happy
to
follow
my
GP
to
Stirling
Lakes
Medical,
but
was
rather
apprehensive
about
the
less-than-positive
(and
some
scathing)
reviews
of
the
doctors,
reception
staff
and
practice
management
of
Stirling
Lakes
Medical,
and
was
prepared
to
be
disappointed
and
potentially
have
to
move
elsewhere.
To
my
surprise
(and
relief!),
I
have
been
very
happy
with
my
enforced
move.
Stirling
Lakes
Medical's
waiting
room
is
large,
clean,
bright
and
airy
with
comfortable
chairs,
and
is
never
really
crowded.
Patients
seem
to
flow
through
very
quickly.
There
is
a
Clinipath
pathology
collection
centre
in
the
far
corner
which
is
really
convenient
for
having
blood
samples
taken
on
the
spot.
The
treatment
room
where
I
had
my
COVID
vaccinations
and
a
recent
ECG
is
similarly
clean,
bright,
and
well
equipped,
and
staffed
by
helpful
and
knowledgeable
nurses
and
trainees.
The
much-maligned
reception
staff
are
always
busy
and
the
phone
never
seems
to
stop
ringing,
but
I've
always
found
them
to
be
polite
and
efficient,
in
particular
the
ever-helpful
Gordana
who
has
stepped
in
a
few
times
to
contact
my
GP
on
her
days
away
from
the
practice
to
get
an
urgent
referral
for
me
or
to
email
me
test
results
in
my
GP's
absence.
She
always
goes
the
extra
mile.Thanks,
Gordana!
For
the
tech-savvy,
the
online
booking
portal
is
great.
You
can
make
and
cancel
your
appointments
online
at
any
time
of
the
day
or
night,
so
no
need
to
phone
the
practice
and
add
to
the
load
of
the
over-worked
reception
staff.
Give
it
a
try
-
it's
so
easy
to
use.
Stirling
Lakes
Medical
is
also
in
a
great
location
adjacent
to
the
Roselea
shopping
centre
and
opposite
Waldecks,
so
it's
easy
to
combine
your
trip
to
your
doctor
with
picking
up
the
groceries
or
a
new
plant
for
the
garden.
So,
all
up,
the
move
to
this
practice
has
been
a
positive
one
although
I
have
further
to
drive
now
to
see
my
GP.
Yes,
as
part
of
a
large
medical
group,
IPN,
it
is
a
different
culture,
especially
compared
to
that
of
the
small
doctor-owned
Odin
Rd
Medical,
but
there
are
some
definite
advantages
to
being
in
a
larger
practice,
such
as
Clinipath
on
site
and
enhanced
facilities.
Be
grateful,
people
-
I've
been
to
far
worse!
