Sad place this joint. my mate (war veteran) comes down here for a yarn and walkabouts with his man's best friend, only to find his worst enemy - a cuckhold with an unleashed pooch. What's the dog doing? The dog is attacking my friends dog (a war veteran's dog), so frequently that he comes home onto the discord and tells me how upset he is.

Gotta love south freo... South Beach is the original beachside destination from the 1900s when the well heeled would catch the train down from perth to the Hydrodome, the pier and of course the beach. Sadly the Hydrodome and the pier have gone (pier replaced with a groin that seperates the dog beach from south/human beach) but the beach is still the same. Lovely grassed area between the railway line, carpark and the beach with plenty of trees for shade. There are weekend Yoga lessons on the grassed are on the weekend early morning too. The Beach cafe is at the southern end and does a "okay" coffee and some food. Saturday nights brings the south beach food markets also fabulous but thats another review. For a chilled out day its worth a shot, on the cat bus route, or cycle down from Freo in 10 minutes on the cycle track

A great little dog beach with a couple of parking areas nearby. What more could a pup want lots of space to run and waves to chase..

Great space for people with dogs. A recent upgrade to dog watering and human showering facilities. Nice walk along the coast line with endlessly changing views. Carpark spaces are limited however so get in quickly.

Nice beach to take the dogs for a walk. The poop bags to pick up after the dogs were empty and only provided at the entrance this unfortunately ment there were a few barkers' eggs along the track down to the beach. There's a place to wash the sand off afterwards and a place for dogs to have a drink.

Small carpark across road, opposite the soft sand beach access path at the most northern end the beach. Dog water station, beach rinse off shower plus a lost and found at this location. Plenty of bags and bins. Is a nice dog beach. Only downside is other owners. They often forget to be close enough to give a verbal command, have eyes on their own dog or carry a lead with them. We deliberately went at a time it was known to be quiet due to some behavioural issues still being addressed. Sadly, the actions of other owners on a 2km long forced us to head home early.

Great place a little difficult for an older person due to the length of soft sand just getting to the beach itself.

I love this place. I have visited here infrequently over the last 30 years. Now I am currently enjoying taking my girl Georgie every Sunday to have loads of fun playing.

Great beach but it's really hard to find parking as there are only 2 tiny car parks nearby for 2 beaches. Plus, it could do with more than one shower facility to put your dog under, after... as per Pinnaroo Point Dog Beach, which is brilliant.

👍 Nice beach , great option for food and drinks. Enough parking . Playgrounds for kids and good area for picnics. Toilettes and change rooms are there as well. Easy to reach from Perth busport
