Lovely bush trails along the Avon river. There’s different tracks of different distances and difficulties depending on what you feel up for. The Echidna trail is an 11km loop with a lot of uphill walking. Keep an eye out for some kangaroos along your walk. There’s also plenty of parking and picnic areas available.

Lovely surroundings with lots of parking and a camping ground that is available during specific seasons. There are various trails here that you can choose to walk and our favourite is the Kingfisher Trail (see pics). This trail starts flat but progresses to several climbs but the view at the top is rewarding. You might also be lucky enough to catch sight of the train. Please note park gates close at 5pm. A lovely place for a family gathering. The Pilgrim Trail also runs through parts of the park and can bring you to either Bells Rapids or up north to the Avon Valley.

Echidna track is quite hard, with lots of hills. Not sure if the view worth the effort. If you adventure yourself, ensure to have a minimum of 2l of water. There is little phone signal around the track, but it is easy to follow the signs and the track in wide and well maintained.

I love the diversity of trails available for all types of hikers. Syd's trail is beautifully cured and accessible for people with limited walking capability (think bad knees). Not ideal for wheelchairs due to tiny channels occassionally running over the trail. Might be nice to add some seating arrangements along this specific trail. The other trails include more difference in height and requires climbing and descending. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear.

If you’re trying to get to Echidna Trail - Google is whack! The actual trailhead starts at the Walyunga Pool car park. Turn off Great Northern Highway onto Walyunga Road until you reach the park entrance. $15 entry per vehicle, gate closes at 5pm and run by volunteers so be kind and on time. Beautiful 3-4 hour loop with wildflowers, rolling rapids, picnic benches for a snack break and an intense 1 hour uphill climb that is no joke.

Great hikes and usually not busy - love going in winter when the river is flowing. Toilets and BBQs at both carparks.

There is a choice of walks, beautiful scenery, and ample parking. For those interested in plants, there are informational plaques along the way. A great way to spend a morning!

Beautiful place for a walk or a row. Very scenic even with the fire ravaged areas. Even that has its own beauty.

So nice and peaceful. Kids enjoyed exploring nature, building their own cubby/denfrom what they found. Magpies friendly, obviously used to people but weren't a bother; they sound beautiful. We were lucky to have fellow campers there to enjoy the peace & quiet too. Toilets were pretty clean too, not at all stinky.

Located just out of Swan Valley, its an amazing place. If you plan on doing the hikes I would recommend at least 3 hours, there are 4 different trails you can take and they are mapped out well. However, the distance of each track is not displayed. My partner and I decided to do the black track and that took us about 3 hours. It is a really long track and you have to be careful because there are alot of steap inclines and decents and its slippery as well but the views are definitely worth it. There are shorted trails if you don't have much time as well as really great picnic spots by the river. Though I highly recommend doing the big trail, trust me its worth it but go prepared. Its an awesome place to spend the day, wish I had been here sooner. Need to go back soon!!!!

Beautiful and peaceful trails. Not very crowded and was a pleasant surprise to see the train go by! They’ve also got great facilities with toilet blocks and plenty of picnic tables available. Would highly recommend no matter you level of experience with trails (some easier and others more intense)

One of our favourites! The trails are very well maintained. The signage is very clear and informative. We love that there are not too many people there. The path along the river offers amazing views on the river, railway with trains (kids love watching those trains passing by!) and quite a few animals. We saw kangaroos, echidna and goats there. Keep in mind the gate gets locked at 5pm sharp. If you're not out before 5, you'll waste the time of the volunteer who does the maintenance of this amazing park.

It's lovely, peaceful and beautiful views next to River. Well signed tracks with plenty of options available. Entry fees apply but it has toilet and picnic areas which is nice. We didn't have any reception while in the park. Nice and quiet to enjoy the hike and being in nature.

Quiet and relaxing hiking course. Took 2.5 hrs for echidna trail(map said 5 hours). Then chilled at the picnic area. Good with kids as well.

Great national park. Toilet block, shady area under the trees, bbqs, and bitumen road and carpark are some amenities of this park. You do need to pay for entry, but it is covered under a National Parks pass. We used a pass, so I'm unsure how much the entry was. We walked along the Kangaroo trail - 4km suggested 2 hours. Rated as grade 2 but more like 2-3, it has some hills and there is a bit of sand to walk through. I thoroughly enjoyed the sounds of the birds as we walked along the path. We went right to commence and the river is a pretty view to take in as you meander along the first part of the walk. As you begin your ascent up the hill the river goes out of view, however this view is exchanged for a vista of the picturesque rolling hills. My pictures don't do it justice. Would have been 5 stars, but for the (what I perceive as) mislabelled grading level. Definitely give it a go!

Great experience camping, fire pit provided with flat plate to bbq. No showers only a toilet which was okay since we were there for only 2 nights. Picnic area had BBQs and a scenic walk to the rapids.
