Disgraceful venue. My partner witnessed a young man trying to steal my handbag. The security dragged my partner out with physical signs of abuse (bruising) not knowing what actually happened. A sad individual tried to steal my purse and my partner confronted it like any partner would. What are you doing that’s my girlfriends purse? My partner and the men involved in theft of my purse were removed in the same direction. My partner was alone and about 6 men were left outside to hurt him. This is disgraceful. 6 men intoxicated against one man who defended his partners purse. Is this the reality of the life we live in? The security at this venue have a lot to answer for and I will take this case further to make sure it never happens again to anyone

I would rate this place 0 if I could. Would not recommend to family, friends or anyone really. Terrible security guards. My boyfriend and I were lining up to go in and I got through but apparently my boyfriend was on drugs and too intoxicated to be let in. Don’t use drugs and had 5 drinks at various pubs throughout the night and was sober enough to find IDs and hand them in. Didn’t even look at my boyfriends ID and spoke to him very rudely. Would absolutely not go here ever again. Owners need new security, they’re so toxic, unfriendly and rude!! Overall a very bad experience and ruined my night.

Got kicked out for no reason. Worst place to go clubbing and getting kicked out for something random happens way to often, when you get kicked out and seperated from your friends for "buying too many drinks" it just ruins your night. Absolute cockheads of bouncers, security guard claming i was too drunk when i was sober. What kind of abuse of power is that? There’s actual assault going on and plenty of other drunk peoples and they just picked me out of a crowed and dragged me out. And leaving me alone and unsafe.

Would be 0 if I could. Can't believe how rude management were to me and my friend. Terrible management. So rude from the point of being there. Friend made a review that got removed due to being grabbed by another patron resulting in an injury. No remorse. We are paying their wages so some kindness would be nice. Not much to ask.

i was completely sober when i tried to go in at 10pm but i was turned away. wanna know why? i have tourette’s. i had a very small (but noticeable) tic in my arm and was turned away immediately. i was going to be let in, until he saw me tic. i explained that i have tourette’s (and that it wasn’t a major issue, just small ones in my neck and face and that they’re not strong enough to hurt anyone) but was still turned away. i had ZERO alcohol in my system. honestly, upset slightly, but not suprised. do better.

Tonight (Friday 27th may 2022) I had a terrible experience with the security guard who was checking identification working outside around 1030-1130pm. I had a conversation with my friend who decided that she was going to leave and when it was time to show my identification I didn’t realise I was holding my wallet in my hand which had my drivers license in it. I excused myself from the line and said ‘Sorry im just going to find my wallet.’ I then showed the security guard my drivers license and he asked how many drinks I had. Truthfully I said 5 drinks and then he would not let me into the club. I asked why I wasn’t let inside and he said I was too drunk and couldn’t locate my ID which had (according to him) been inside my bag. I explained that my ID had been inside my wallet and what was inside my bag that he had mistaken for my ID was actually allergy medication. I tried to reason with the security guard twice and explain what happened to him but he would not accept my response and instead gave me attitude. Later I spoke to another man who worked for magnet who understood what had happened and actually listened to what I was saying and let me inside and he is the reason why I am giving a two star review. If I could give a review on the original security guard I would give 0. Awful patience, awful personality and awful understanding. Cheers mate for ruining my evening.

We live in the apartment nearby and cannot sleep any time they open. Because they play very loud music until early morning. If you guys can install sound isolation wall and keep the noise inside your building. It would be great.

Magnet House is a good venue, but there is a glaring problem. The bar staff seem to have forgotten the meaning of the word hospitality. Going to the bar and being greeted by a sour look is not a great start to a transaction. I'm not saying you should be over smiley and excited, but perhaps trying to make the interaction at least pleasant might be a good start. One interaction I had, there were5 people standing at one bar station. The bartender served 3, then got 4 and announced the bar was closed and ignored the last 2 patrons. They weren't intoxicated, they weren't rude. They were just waiting patiently. Bartenders are the face of the venue and treating the customer as a burden, or expressing they don't want to be there suggests that perhaps hospitality is not the industry for them.

Absolutely appalling behaviour by the security and the female manager. My son who has a speech impediment (stutter) was told he was too intoxicated to be in the club because of his speech, after ordering a drink and paying the $20 entrance fee. He was manhandled and discriminated against because of his stutter. The staff and management is a complete joke seeing that the 3 others he accompanied to the club were beyond intoxicated but not once was anything said to them. Management and staff need to be educated on how not to discriminate against things people can't control. From reading other reviews this is something that isn't unusual and I'll be sure to spread the word about your venue.

Bouncers are shocking. My best mate was a bouncer here and said he was given instructions to refuse entry to a given quota each night and prioritise refusing entry to males who were by themselves. The bouncers kick people out for fun.

The club used to be good, it’s now run by a bunch of power hungry managers. The old security team used to take care of us and made the club fun and safe. I won’t be returning to the club until the old security come back

Went to this facility last night for my Hens. I was promptly told that I was too intoxicated and unable to walk straight…after I was dancing on the floor, and walked down the stairs with no assistance or use of the rails. Basically if you want to stay in this club it seems you need to be a tin soldier … pretty poor club - most servers have an attitude/ sour face and the security are on high alert as if the think they are prison officers walking around. Poxy service and security.. since when did dancing mean intoxication ? Thought the whole point of these venues was for dancing and drinking ? 🤣 Get off ya pedestal!

Bouncer completely discriminated against my friend, telling her to wait 30min before coming back, which she did, claiming she was ‘intoxicated’, whilst letting in people who were extremely drunk/ under the influence at the same time. I was able to to enter the venue, even though i had more standards, relatively to her, and after arguing her case, kicked me out. That security guard was extremely rude, and misogynistic.

Friend kicked out for being "sweaty" and they thought he was on drugs. Was waiting outside for all our friends and got told to move along. Overall most staff arent up to date with customer service standards. Out of the 6 weeks I've gone, it's ruined the night 5/6 times

Used to love the place. Had decent music, good bathrooms and felt safer than other places. Then last night me and 2 other of my mates got kicked out for no reason. Apparently "had too much"... we were all sober enough to walk straight and have a normal conversation. The "security" guards literally played ennie menie miney moe to decide who would get kicked out...

So went to see a band perform. Stood in line waiting for doors to open, the staff decided to arrange some barricades and sent me to the end of the line. Finally got inside bought some band merchandise (got home to find out it wasn't the items i requested) stood at the bar for over an hour being ignored service and pushed aside so I left. Place is a joke and runs like a bad joke

I read all the bad reviews the Magnet House have had recently and was a little bit worried about going there to be honest. I recently went to Magnet House to see Obituary play and to be honest l had a great time. The barstaff were polite and the bouncers even opened the rope out the front to let me through after my friends went outside for a cigarette. The acoustics were good too. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

I went with my work mates to Magnet House, as a follow on from our work Christmas Party. I am recovering from a Spinal Cord injury, my balance isn't good, at the best of times, add a few bevies, and my shaky balance deteriorates. I was in no way so intoxicated that required the unnecessary attention of security, on two occasions. Not happy!!! M

Good music and friendly staff. Little dirty but it is a night club so you should expect that. Be aware of fights throughout the night as when I went there I witnessed a few so keep eyes on the back of you head. All in all great place and I recommend people to visit to feel the vibe for themselves.

Unsafe space for anyone from the LGBT community would not recommend as you will get carried out and removed without an explanation. Disgusting, unsafe, security will touch you without consent and you’ll be assaulted for having a drink and they’ll not give you even a moment to explain your situation of being adhd, overwhelmed and being attacked as security removes you for no reason, surely this was a confusion of identity because I literally was assaulted by the staff. 🤔 I explained if I was being removed I was okay to walk as I don’t like being touched due to my adhd and I get overwhelmed and security still carried me out and touched me without consent for no need even though I consented to walking, but no. Absolutely filthy.

Good place to go clubbing but getting kicked out for something random happens way to often, there's a good bar and music is good but when you get kicked out and seperated from your friends for "buying to many drinks" it just ruins your night. It's a good last option but I'm sure there's other clubs that don't just kick you out.

What a surprise another one star review. And as the others have said I would give a 0 if I could. Got refused entry for being “too intoxicated” because I bumped the rope off, then proceeded to replace it, but apparently that makes me “too drunk” so waited 2 hours to only be told the same thing. Absolute joke of a nightclub and really rude staff, bouncers and owner included. Can say for sure I’ll never be going and my friends and family won’t be either.

DO NOT GO HERE! the way the security treats women is absolutely disgusting and inhumane. I was lifted above the crowd by four men with my privates outs and they just threw me on the concrete out and walked away. These security are power hungry and dangerous. Please report them if this happens to you.

Great venue- good music, relatively clean as far as nightclubs go, two floors, two bars with two options for vibes and music (sometimes three if there’s something going on at the third bar), you could really spend all night here (and for the price, you might want to) Confused management- they’ll allow your friends to get black eyes and bruises from cups being thrown, and they’ll let underage people in (fake ids are NOT that hard to catch, come on); all while throwing people out seemingly at random. They’ve got a great thing going, but 2/3rds of my experiences here have been more negatively affected by their mismanagement of patrons than the fact that I’ve been deso.

I have an RSA aswell but their security are too uptight. Like yeah people will drink before going to your nightclub. But u should only refuse entry when they are actually intoxicated and not just red eyed. Still a nice club but security are like North Korean Border guards who have an inferioty complex.

3 bars inside And no one has idea of the LIIT cocktail I was asking. Finally I asked for white wine, the girl was looking for wine glasses for 5 minutes . 10 minutes after , the security guy asked, why are you not ordering any more drinks ! Time to leave the place !

Absolutely ridiculous would give a 0 if I could. I’m deaf in 1 ear so I couldn’t hear the bouncer when he was talking to me and said I showed signs of “intoxication” even though I was sober and had nothing to drink. Absolutely ridiculous that you would refuse someone of impairment entry into the club. When asking the manager why I wasn’t allowed in they simply stated “oh we don’t have to go into detail.” Honestly avoid here if you can

Unhelpful staff when trying to find out band set times. Uninterested bar staff, and not enough of them at The Bronx gig. Seemingly no air conditioning, it was stinking hot outside but even worse inside. Only gets 2 stars as they get decent bands playing, but the venue mostly sucks.

My friends and I were at amplifier, when my type 1 diabetic fried was kicked due to take his blood. He was then kicked out for sitting down checking his blood, when we confronted the security team they didn't want to know about it. Total discrimination because of a condition uncontrollable to him. Dylan the manager wouldn't even listen to our issue with the security staff. Would not recommend the venue. They even contacted the police which backed our issue.

Good club if you like staying out late, standard price for drinks, great dancefloor with a secondary dancefloor up the top (wouldn't recommend because of the smell). With the doors opening to amplifier later on you've got a lot of options for toilets.

I’ve been clean for 4.5 months as an 18 year old. I paid $20 entry to get in and my mates who I waited for 40 minutes were still waiting so I went out to see them. They then got into magnet and both amplifier and the main entrance Denied me as I was “too intoxicated” I didn’t have a single drink on me and haven’t drunk in over 4 months but because I look to young but with an Id they still denied me in rude fashion I am very mad. Magnet is a bad/toxic place when it comes to the front staff of entry!!

  • 1/5 Hafis Mamoun (. 1 year ago on Google
Bar staff are useless, security is useless and front staff are rude and I showed one staff and he said talk to someone downstairs I poke someone downstairs and he reckons he doesn’t care. Maybe help when work at this place. They still go there saw him another time.

The staff are always lovely but it is always very crowded. The toilets are a little dodge so avoid if you can. Amplify at the back is a vibe and a half, would recommend start there then move to magnet.

Not a great place for a sold out show, if your not upfront upstairs you don't see anything and there isn't a ton of space downstairs. Also, $30 for a pint of pirate life! Red Bull vodka was $14, why would a pint of craft be so expensive!?!?

About a year ago or so Magnet used to be my favourite spot for nights out. Now it's the opposite. The new security they have there are all power freaks. Getting into Magnet is now a nightmare, you could be as sober as a monk and they will still claim you're too drunk. Last weekend I actually experimented with this, decided not to have pres and the bouncer was hard on me, telling me I'm drunk. Have gotten kicked out about 3 times for no reason, and you can't help but feel the guards stare at you when you get in. It is seriously anxiety inducing. My theory is they keep kicking people out to let more people in to get more cash flow, but they kick the wrong people out. You will witness multiple creeps in there. I'm glad after reading other reviews I am not alone on this. Bar staff has always been awesome tho, shout out the homies. They need to retrain their cheap security or get a whole new team together because bad experiences at this club are becoming too often.

I recently visited Magenta House with a group of friends, hoping for a night of enjoyment. However, our experience was far from pleasant. The security team at Magenta House seemed overly strict, as they promptly removed us for dancing and having fun. When seeking clarification, our inquiries were met with aggression, leading to an uncomfortable situation. Whether we were at the bar or had reserved a booth, the security's lack of flexibility and unfriendly demeanor overshadowed the entire evening. It's disheartening to feel unwelcome in a place we intended to have a good time. I encourage Magenta House to reconsider its approach to customer interaction and perhaps adopt a more inclusive and communicative stance. A positive atmosphere can significantly enhance patrons' experiences and contribute to the overall success of the establishment. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, with the aim of fostering a more enjoyable environment for all visitors
