We have had a couple of cycles so far with Concept Fertility and while the doctors and other support staff have been lovely; (thank you) we've had multiple encounters with one specific nurse (and only one) who has on each occasion been either abrasive, defensive or incapable of explaining in plain language aspects of the process. To use the term poor bed side manner would be an understatement. I have have never left a negative review before on Google Reviews but I was motivated given our recent experience. In the most recent encounter the nurse ended up yelling (Yes, literally yelling) at my partner after being unable to clearly explain in plain language a change in the process which created confusion on our end, and having heard the full conversation as a bystander I was gobsmacked. ​Imagine yelling at a customer (a customer who was not being aggressive or aggravating and was just confused) in any other customer facing context, *but* for such behaviour to occur *in an IVF clinic* where one should expect a certain level of professionalism given the emotional (and costly) nature of the process. Completely Unacceptable. A subsequent phone conversation between myself and a different nurse cleared up the confusion in a matter of seconds with this nurse being able to clearly articulate the situation. (it was not a complex issue to clarify) Extremely frustrating to have to deal with such things when one is going through a very emotional and expensive process. I know we are not the only ones to experience the bed side manner of this particular nurse as I have spoken to another couple, who having been through Concept multiple times were also familiar with her bed side manner. To reiterate, I have never left a negative review on Google Reviews before and it is (honestly) outside my nature to complain in such a way, but the experience with this nurse was so poor I felt I should at least put this complaint down in writing.

Very surprised with the rudeness from front desk service. My wife and I are in the process of of choosing a clinic for IVF and exploring options. I was hoping to get some information on wait periods, service provision, and private health/medicare rebates, but the receptionist was so rude and basically told me to read the website. Family planning is such an important and vulnerable time, I’m actually glad I’ve had this experience so I know to choose another clinic where we have been spoken to kindly. I can’t imagine paying to be treated that way.

Concept didn't end up helping me as I fell pregnant naturally several months after I had stopped seeing them. I felt like I was treated like a pin cushion having endless cycles of blood tests which resulted in basically nothing but sore arms and a fee to pay. They were not flexible as I had to go to Subiaco in the morning for the tests, even though this made me late for work. It was basically their way or the highway as I could not do the blood tests anywhere else - it had to be Subiaco. When I said I couldn't make appointments due to work, the nurse's attitude was very condescending and patronising and she made me feel like I wasn't committed enough to falling pregnant. The doctor could not explain to me why I wasn't falling pregnant naturally. Their response was to send me to endless cycles of blood tests. They also sold me medication which I didn't need, and didn't let me return it for a refund. It was also not made clear to me that the medication came at a cost. At the end of all the testing I had a huge fee to pay without any result.

We genuinely couldn't be more pleased with Concept's professionalism, eagerness to ensure a smooth transition whilst transferring from an Eastern States clinic and sincere compassion. Thank you to the whole team but namely to Dr Graeme Thompson, Jen Chambers and Áine Mann for your tireless work and kindness throughout this process. Highly recommend!

I asked for my medical records and was dropped by my FS, thats so unprofessional and unethical. Also nurse manager wasn't very nice, FS PA didn't answer some of my emails and on bulk billed IVF they charge $200 for meds but my meds only cost $160 if i bought them myself. Not very good experience overall and wouldn't recommend this clinic. My new clinic the service is much better and FS is much nicer.

What a bad experience with after hour Nurse coordinator. You need to be polite and sympathetic to your customers but not your bad attitude and rudeness. Tried to put yourself in your customers shoes.

I can't recommend Concept enough. I had such a wonderful experience with Dr Thompson and the team there. Every single person in the team I dealt with there from the specialist, nurses, phlebotomists, to the receptionists, etc, was friendly, caring, empathetic and supportive. Dr Thompson was excellent - he is not only highly skilled but also kind and genuine, and willing to answer any question no matter how small. He encouraged us to try alternative fertility treatments before IVF. We were successful with IVF (first go) in the end. The treatment costs were also far less than other clinics I had spoken to earlier.

My partner Kylie and I cannot recommend Concept Fertility in Subiaco enough. All the staff, including but not limited to the receptionists, nurse coordinators, phlebotomists, embryologists, day hospital team & Dr Lucy Williams are highly professional, empathetic and very caring towards their patients. They went above and beyond with our treatments and were incredibly supportive!

Having experienced treatment at two different fertility clinics in Perth, I could not recommend Concept more highly. This is not only because our treatment was successful (bringing us the greatest gifts on the fourth round of IVF) but also because the level of care and support was exceptionally high. Dr Williams is brilliant, we always felt confident in her medical treatment, advice and guidance. But, importantly, that also extended to all of the nursing and other staff who were nothing short of wonderful. Going through IVF or any fertility treatment is an emotional rollercoaster and so it's important that you not only receive great medical treatment but that there is also genuine support and care. We received this in spades at Concept (I agree with another reviewer about billing issues but I'm willing to let that slide given how excellent the clinic was otherwise).

My husband and I had a great experience at Concept and were successful within 6 months - will always remember the phone call from the nurse who announced I was pregnant. The staff is extremely caring and friendly. Highly recommend.

After 8 failed rounds of IVF you would expect to get a phone call or conversation with your Dr to explain why it wasn’t working. Instead the same nurse coordinator simply said sometimes you just need to wait for the lucky embryo. When you put your heart, soul and $$ into a process like this it is not unreasonable to speak to your Dr.

Highly recommend the Concept Fertility Centre .. the compassion and professionalism I was shown by all staff over the past 11 years lifted my spirits and gave me hope in some of the most challenging times of my life .. Oh and I have an amazing son 💙

Words are not enough to expression our immense gratitude. Without Concept we wouldn't have our beautiful 15 year old, who has enriched our lives beyond measure.

We've had two beautiful donor-conceived babies thanks to Concept and I have nothing but good things to say about our entire experience. All the staff are warm and kind. The processes are efficient and the premises are lovely and clean. Highly recommend.
