You should avoid this veterinarian. I took my Sphynx cat to this Vet yesterday. The vet. told me he was fine, less than two hours later he was dead! and he suffered, absolutely suffered! as a result. It was obvious that the cat had HCM (A fatal heart condition common to Sphynx cats). Clearly this Vet knew nothing about Sphynx cats as he dismissed my concerns. The Vet said he was fine, lungs were good, heart was good and injected him with something supposedly for nausea. Then happily took my money! That's what he really wanted! He had me come in at 6:45pm stating he would be able to "squeeze me in" , squeeze in another $145 more like it. Less than 2 hrs. later my cat was dead. gasping for breath as his heart failed and his lungs filled with fluid. How could a professional not know this?? Even I know that his lungs would have had fluid! You could actually hear it when you put your ear to his mouth. He was slowly drowning! At the very least he could have told me and had him put down, alleviating the poor animals suffering. But no, instead he sent me home and asked me to monitor his breathing when he was asleep. My cat never got to sleep! His distress and labored breathing was obvious even to me. His symptoms were classic HCM. But not for this Vet! I had my cat for 11 years! He was a treasured member of my family and while I didn't expect miracles, I did expect compassion. Make no mistake! In my view these people put money and profits ahead of animal health, either that, or they are utterly incompetent.

Amazing staff!!! While on holidays, I felt so good because I knew my two fur babies Max & Luke would be well looked after as previous times. Thank you very much.

Experiences here have always been either excellent or poor. We’ve been attending (initially on the wellness plan) for 5+ years) but the inconsistent experience / quality of vets on duty definitely make this an either hit or miss.

Amazing, caring vets. We have a fussy cat, Aslan, who just turned 8 yrs old. We’ve been with vet west for a while and have great experience with them. Joe is an amazing vet, who spent the time to calm our Aslan to check his heart and lungs. Aslan has to do a blood test for an overall check up. He’s been a cranky boy. The vets at vet west organised multiple different sessions so Aslan doesn’t get too stressed. They’ve been very patient with our fussy, cranky Aslan. Thank you

My friend’s dog was sent to neutering. The hospital told her that the dog had been put on hold at 8 in the morning, but the neutering operation started after 2 in the afternoon. During the period, the dog was left unattended, and the nail of one leg broke and fell off from the root. One leg has stitches. after the incident, the hospital did not inform my friend ,Only after my friend came to pick up the neutered dog in the evening, he saw its wound, the hospital told my friend ,and asked my friend to pay for the dog's bandage replacement after the incident!

After having both our dogs on the wellness plan for some time I was very disappointed at the experience with Vetwest. The vet was very uncomfortable with our large dog and after he barked and playbowed in front of her, advised us she would be putting a note on saying he needed to be muzzled next time he came in. He previously got rave reviews from staff on visits and when in for surgery. He had been attacked by another dog and bitten on the back of the neck. She didn't even examine him. Just scripted some antibiotics and sent us away. Completely understand if you don't feel safe and feel he needs to be muzzled - so bloody muzzle him and examine him. We don't pay hundreds of dollars every year for an examination from across the room. He was bleeding! We've transferred our other dogs wellness plan to another vet and Quinn's is up next month, at which point he's out too.

Unfortunately this vet practice doesnt even deserve a one star rating, the vets are incompetent and the charges are outrageous. We have two pets, Felix the cat and my dog name is Koby....both went to Vet West periodically. The issue with Felix was he had a infected leg, we were told by the vet that the leg needed to be amputated, we were shocked and refused that notion, decided to put him on a course of anti biotics instead, within 2 weeks, the leg completely healed. There after, our dog Koby lacerated it's tail, as it was an emergency and no other practice was open at the time, against our better judgement we went to Vet West again for treatment. They wrapped the leg up and advised that if the leg wasn't healed within a week, it would have to be amputated. We again rejected this advice and sought a second opinion elsewhere, the other practice advised that wrapping the tail in bandages was the wrong course of action, needed to be aerated, manucca honey / betadine needed to be applied............within 5 weeks, the tail fully healed!!! In our opinion, Vet West is only interested in the almighty dollar, not the interest of the animal. Steer clear of Vet West and seek better alternatives elsewhere, we did and couldn't be happier.

Nice open place. Make sure to check where exactly to park for the vicinity, otherwise it's a blink and you'll miss it area. Vets and receptionist were lovely and accomodating for our girl.

Brilliant facility. Staff are wonderful. Premises are spotless and don’t smell regardless of how many cats are there. And my cat comes home healthy and happy to see me ❤️

Do not even bother to purchase wellness package. Only received two months of treatments when complained told well left here so basically don’t care if you received them or not . Charged $148 for consultation to look in dogs ear . Paid $84 for drops available at pet shop for $20 Never received welcome package. Answer was always oh we will get that sent to you ! Stopped paying after 8 months due to getting nothing for my money, now told it’s sent to debt collectors Account people not even interested in sorting a resolution STEER clear of these people

The friendly team has been efficient at their service of care for my cat, Kingsley when he was being a treated for a life-threatening condition. Their daycare prices are reasonably affordable with the best standards, in terms of thoroughness and follow-ups. Thank you once again team for helping my sweet boy.

Thank you to Amelia and the staff who helped us say goodbye to our beloved cat Minnie. We are so grateful for all the kindness, support and compassion given , not just to Minnie, but to us as well. It’s never easy saying goodbye especially when they have been in the family for almost 14 years and was almost 18 years old but Amelia was the perfect vet to see us all through , never rushing us to say our goodbyes and treating Minnie with the utmost respect. Thank you all for your care over the years as well. 😘

Absolutely terrible service. Have paid huge fees to cover my puppy for all services in advance, phoned with several hours notice to ask if we could be 5 minutes late and was told no and would need to rebook for an appointment that was not able to be delayed. Absolutely would not recommend.

The team were amazing and the vet showed such empathy and kindness when we put our beautiful Woody too sleep last week. We weren’t rush and they followed up with a call the next day too see how the family were coping and a card in the post. A very sad time, made that little bit easier by a wonderful show of love. Thank you so much and we can’t recommend you enough.

I went in for digestion issues with Tikiri, my dog, on 1 September. They booked me in for half an hour and charged me for that. I went in at 3.10pm, taken in at 3.15pm and was finished by 3.25pm. Dr Chloey spent hardly any time examining the dog. I would have expected a thorough check, being the first time. I had to then wait a long time for the payment. Mel, the receptionist was quite rude and criticised the set of flats I live in. She tried to get me to sign up for the wellness plan, but could not provide details to questions I asked. As I have a new puppy, I hoped to use this as my regular vet, but won’t be doing so now. Seeing the previous two negative reviews, I can’t trust them with the dog I love.

I have been using Vet West for years. I would highly recommend this practice. My beautiful Whippet Zorro was treated with very special care and attention on all his visits. Thank you to the Vets, nurses and reception staff, I lost my best friend recently.

This is the second time i have been here with an injured bird. Both times a walk in with no appointment. They have greated me and been very professionaand caring for the wildlife. I simply completed a form and then they advised the bird would go to a carer in the morning if it survived the night. Just refressing to go to a business thats not in it just for the money, they actually care. They have large clean vet clinic and great hours, open till 7pm Mon-Friday and all day Saturday. Such a wonderful experience.

I’d just like to give a massive shout out to Dr. Cirsten. He is so passionate about his work and it shows. My cat has has an ongoing, unresolvable issue so we visit the vet regularly. Whenever we visit, you can just see that he knows how much our pets mean to us. He is so gentle and caring with my kitty. My boy was shaking the entire time we were on the way to the vet but as soon as he saw Dr. Cirsten, he was fine and was happy to be taken away for blood and urine samples. Dr. Cirsten has taken photos of the skin issue my cat is having to show other vets and for his own reference to try and figure out the best way to treat it because we still don’t know what is wrong with him. This guy really cares for animals and is fantastic with the owners of much beloved pets. I am honestly so thankful that he is looking after my cat because he obviously cares a great deal. I would 100% recommend seeing Dr. Cirsten if you ever need to see a vet.

Wouldn't go anywhere else. Vetwest South Perth have been treating our animals for years and seen us through broken bones, feline diabetes, cancer, and everything else. Dr Jill and Dr Cirsten have worked miracles for us, and every one of the staff there are professional, friendly, and treat our pets with care and respect. Dr Jill recently put our cat to sleep after a terminal cancer diagnosis, and her level of care for us and for his comfort was extraordinary. I couldn't have asked for a better vet. We drive past 3 other vets and across 4 suburbs to keep coming to them, and we'll continue to as long as we have animals.

I could not recommend this vet highly enough! The staff and the doctors are so caring and nice. I have had so many issues with my puppy since I got her and their support meant so much to me. I highly appreciate all the follow-up phone calls to check on my puppy after her having consultations. My puppy also had cherry eye surgery at the vet and she looks gorgeous now! I am so happy with the results and the way she felt after the surgery, and how she is feeling now. The wellness plan is also great value for money.
