Oh.. my.. god!!! Where were the direction signs ??!!!! Ok, the walk… yes, the downhills are a bit scary. Rocky… yep! Loose… yep! But a great challenge and we had a lot of fun. The pool, amazing :) had a dip, yep, cold but it was 30 degrees so who cares! We took a picnic and had a great time. But, please! Where oh where were the direction signs??!! The city of whatever signs are worn and hard to spot and we o boyishly missed a MAJOR one because after rocky pools we tried to get back , missed it… ended up in a different car park and on the road and then had to do a 4km trek along the roads AROUND the park to get back to the car. Here’s a tip! If you take the trek where the first direction is UP UP UP and then you encounter DOWN DOWN DOWN… if you reach a point where you’re getting echidna I formation and lovely park walk signs about flora and fauna … YOUVE GONE TOO FAR!! Ok, they still get 4 stars… the walk is brilliant. I know some people say they took their kids and dogs but they must have been going from the other tail which is nice and flat because there is no way I could get my kids to do that walk without major whinage ! The down hill on the challenging walk had to be taken very slowly, step by step and while I found it fun and exciting I can’t really imagine a non adventurous kid or a dog doing it (and I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to have a dog in a national park anyway). But I can’t imagine it would ever be over visited, and it’s so peaceful and pleasant and a great walking challenge. Yep, go the other trail for a more comfortable east picnic and have a wonderful time but for the challenging walk… god! If you hit a car park you don’t recognise, turn around and try again! Just turn around and try again. If you hit road … nope! It’s not easier to keep going. Please put more signage up!!! Please!!!

Beautiful walk with eye-catching flora, especially in wildflower season. Nice pools to get refreshed. Very bad signage though, got lost a few times trying to make the loop, so make sure you check the map of the trail beforehand.

Went there yesterday and all the creeks are dried and there was no water in the Rocky pool dried as hell. Been here a month ago and found enough water. The trail is good if you looking for a nice walk throughout the jungle but not for swim in the Rocky pool these days as only thing you see is the sand and rocks. Cheers.

I've been coming and camping here for 50 years, 2 gwnerations later, only thing that changes is the amount of people that now visit here. Still brings back memories, a great hike, keep it clean folks.

Lovely walk, the walkover bridges do get flooded when there is heavy rainfall. The water wasnt very high and I was able to crossover, however some are trickier than others. The pools itself is not a very large area but great stopover point if you are doing the loop walk.

We planed to go there last weekend, which was a hot day and thought we would have fun and a great day as it is a beautiful spot but there were some issues: First the Google map doesn't take you to the right place and we spent too much time to find the car park !!!! But the worst part was in a really hot day we walked to it and we found it 100% dry and had to walk back and I could say we roasted and some other people had same experience and this is shameless that there hasn't been any information prepared by the local shire/ National Park organization that says this is seasonal river or pool !!!

Went here thinking it was a swimming hole but they recently blocked off the trail so you can park in a spot but have to walk an hour to the swimming spot, which if you like walking during the heat sure you will love it but if you wanna go for a quick swim this isnt the right spot

This track is considered difficult but I do think feel it is you can do this with kids...going off main track might be a mindful watch with kids. But beautiful. Water wasn't in the river but be absolutely lovely in winter..

Nice walk but went there on the 11/11/23 and there was no water, so if your planning to go for a swim don’t bother.

very nice for swimming, make sure you don’t go towards the end of summer though as there won’t be much water at all. also don’t go downstream because there are leaches in the water

Easy walk on weekends around 45-60 minutes. Dog and kids friendly and there's a mountain bike trail too.

I just discovered this walk and now completed the 5km plus walk a couple times now. Exceptional but as we are doing it at the right time. Flowers are out, low 20's degrees. Doing this walk in mid summer would push you. Plus make sure you wear good shoes, my son wore runners and was slipping all over the place.

Rewarding destination for time it takes to get there. Fresh in winter but still worth a dip. Can take young children there too

It's nice place to relax in the pool after walking.

It's A Verry Nice and Place For Family, Friends, and FUN for Kids, allows people to connect to nature. Keeping you healthy with it's good trail walks and keeping you cool with it's refreshing pools and running river, you can take a Deep in it literraly. But be mindful there are some inconsiderate people who comes there and intentionally breaks into Cars. I Hope they Can Station some security Guards on the parking Lot and a Roving Park Ranger so no one can alter the terrain of This Natural and Beautiful Gift From GOD. Have a nice day and GOD Bless US ALL.

It was nice 2 hr hike. There was only rocky no pool. Dry pool but was nice cool breeze to relax after a walk. Looking for to go when there is water flowing.

Note: It’s looks nice place but wouldn’t recommend in the summer time. There is no water in the summer time.

Escape the sun with this awesomely shady and easy hike. The rocky pools fill up in the wet season and in the dry season this is one of the absolute best hikes for shade. If you go in summer then finish your hike by sitting on the grass with an apple slushy (or cider tasting board) at core cidery - 14 mins drive away. There is a network of hiking trails that cross Rocky Pools so if you want to explore those the get the All Trails app. The most common one is walking straight to the pools and back (about 40mins, no app needed). It’s relatively flat with only one or two hills and a very wide, clear and well-maintained red dirt path. My favourite hike is 7km and it’s a more scenic variation of this. You start around the car park and go left up the mountain (narrow path), around into Kalamunda national park with beautiful views as you walk around the mountain, and back down where you return back onto the flat and wide rocky pools track. That is my absolute favourite. Also if you want a very very intense hike of approx 18km or a bit more, then do the rocky pool hike but continue walking straight after the pool and it will connect you to the Helena River walk (which is a very hilly loop with no shade). When you hit the small foot bridge about 10 mins after passing the rocky pools, that is roughly when you are about to intersect with the Helena river walk. Get the all trails app so you know where to go. This is such a good network of hikes and a great starting point with lots of shaded parking and restaurants nearby when you finish, I will explore more from here!

A great walk to get the cardio going

Did the trek with a 12yo and 9yo. Went in a clockwise loop and followed Google maps trail without problems. A fair bit of incline walk but manageable altho a section of steep decline was quite challenging as the path is slippery with pebbles. Rocky pool itself was really nice for the kids. A continuous steady trek of the 5km loop without stopping too long would take around 2hrs to complete. Plenty of rocky steps if taking the shorter route from carpark (dead end) to Rocky Pool.

A nice place to hike, with some reasonably challenging hills. Near useless signage (almost non-existent) can trick you into getting lost or going down useless tracks. Also a shame that the area is blighted by gigantic electricity pylons throughout. An oddity of this place is how often you see people bringing their dogs despite the very clear notices and long standing rule of no pets in national parks.

Lovely walk when the wild flowers are out. Wear appropriate shoes as there are some parts that are down hill on a gravel path. I took kids 9 and 7 and they had no issues with the 4km round trip to the pools.

Beautiful place for an afternoon swim to cool off! We hiked from the carpark at Helena Valley Rd, took about 45mins, and it was well worth it!

Great hiking trail. No pets allowed, fyi. However I would like it better if there were directions along the trail.

Beautiful this time of year, and the water level was very high. Some beautiful flowers in bloom, and saw a few roo's as well.

Good hike with optional challenges on the various tracks. The Rocky Pool is a great rest spot. Can swim and picnic there. Doggy doo bags are at the beginning of some tracks. Spring time has the beuatiful native flowers blooming.

It’s a really nice but long and rocky walk to the falls from the dead end road I found. The pool is pretty cool to see though in the wet seasons. And a cool waterfall flows into it 😍. I’ll make sure I take more photos next time 😉. Also my dogs loved the walk.
