Wonderful experience. Seen them on TV, but it means so much more to actually see the enormous numbers of islands. Walking across an island to be proudly shown how it all works is fascinating. Yes, the inhabitants will try to sell you stuff, but why not. Income isn't exactly high here.

For 35 solas it's a really good opportunity to see the floating islands. Granted it's touristy, but each tour goes to different islands so it's never crowded. The Islanders are friendly and are happy to show you how they live. They sell trinkets and will offer boat rides for very cheap. It's a good way to support their community.

A lovely floating island with genuine people living on it. The presentation on how the floating island is formed and the life on the island was funny and educational. The four years old girl playing with her cat and her doll is so adorable. The craft made by the women is unique and time consuming. Don't miss the opportunity to buy them on the island. Visit the island with cash in hands.

Wow! What's a unique and unforgettable way to live! Built on islands completely made of reeds and floating on Lake Titicaca, you will find this authentic community in Peru. The people are incredible and so friendly on these islands; they are interested in educating tourists on their way of life as well as explaining how they ended up here. The trip out to Uros is worth the effort for the awe-inspiring and genuinely interesting experience you will receive. Please note, all photos of the inhabitants of this island were taken with their permission.

Love learning how the famlies build their floating island. Its a hard life they live ,but i was impressed on how happy they were. Clear blue water . A beautiful place to visiti. Love the Mercedes Benz boats. So colorful !.

Let's face it: it's a tourist trap. (you can pay your "handmade traditional" souvenirs with Visa) Anyway, worth a visit, you'll have some nice holiday pics afterwards. !! Buy your direct tickets at the ticket office, not from guys standing on the way to the harbour. 10 soles for boat trip (both ways), 2,50 harbour taxes, plus 10 on the island for the boat to the other island. No tour needed, they welcome you and explain everything when you are there anyway.

Amazing and exquisite way of life. It's really impressive the engineering of these islands. We really loved visiting and learning more about these families on the titicaca lake. Recommend it!!!

This place was absolutely amazing. From the canals, to the people, the hospitality, the feeling of your first steps on the islands and seeing how the islands are built, this was a step back in time and a lesson in what's import to make us happy in life.

A must see location where the local people still live in the traditional way. They use solar panels for their electricity needs. They are a very friendly people with their colorful costumes and hand made textiles for sale to the tourists.
