Went there today for a coffee and a bite. Extremely badly managed hotel. For a restaurant with a good name like Vasantha Bhavan, one would expect better. The service was atrocious, with not even water / paper napkins being kept on table on time. And the time taken for food to come was too high. Almost as if they do not expect the restaurant to get full.

Clean and neat place. Had meals for lunch and the food served was in good quantity and taste. The staff are very courteous to the costumers and I really appreciate their effort.

I've had food from his restaurant several times using Swiggy and Zomato , no complaints about the food . It tastes amazing and packing is also excellent 👍. But for the 1st time I visited this restaurant with my family for dinner, I had a worst experience ever. First of all the restaurant was fully filled with people everyone was literally taking so loud that it felt like a entering a market. Then no one literally welcomes you , we were standing just like a tree and the restaurant people didn't even look at us . After some 10mins we got a table and we were wating for someone take the order , sadly no one appeared there . This situation was not only for us but also some 2-3 tables were not given attention, they were also waiting like us . We got extremely frustrated and moved out from there with disappointment 😞.

Coconut chutney was my favourite. Ambience - Clean, sanitised and well organised dining hall. Food - we ordered break fast items mini breakfast , idli with vada curry, set dosa and filter coffee. Tiffin items comes with sambar, tomato chutney and coconut chutney. All chutney are mouth watering. Food was tasty and coffee was very refreshing. Service - There are good number of the waiters continuously working to treat a customer in finest manner.

Very worst experience. Ambience is OK. But little noisy. Some 50 people can dine in at a time. Quality of the food is not as before. Ordered mini tiffin, Vada and a juice. These 3 items itself costs 352 rs including tax. Food not worth for the price they charge. Idli is good. Sambar is good. Pongal is good. Vada is ok. Chutneys average. Poori is ok but Masala is not good. Some different kind of oily taste. Not at all worthy for the price. Both the Quality and the quantity. Better prefer A2B or Sangeetha.

My recent visit to this establishment was rather underwhelming. Despite a noticeable abundance of staff, their efficiency left much to be desired. The breakfast menu was disappointingly limited, leaving me with no choice but to order Pongal and an onion dosa, given the unavailability of masala dosa. The dosa's presentation was lackluster, with onions haphazardly scattered. What compounded the disappointment was the absence of chutney upon our second request. The ambiance also fell short of expectations, with numerous flies present. In sum, this dining experience was regrettably average, failing to meet the standards for a pleasant breakfast outing.

Food taste is excellent & serving also good. After closing also they served for us, because still we were having food on plates & they didn't ask us to have quickly. We had a delicious keerai vadai and veg keema dosa, strongly recommend this to restaurant to try evening snacks.

Had dinner at a wedding reception here. I Don't think the food is freshly prepared for the reception dinner. Rotti was chill and hard, sambar sadham tasted good but looks like it was mixed from various branches. Low quality ice cream provided. Soup was like boiled rice water..

Hotel was neat, The food is costly for the quantity served. A Parotta set costed around Rs 75, and a curd rice also was Rs.76... if you want to enjoy a good quality veg dish and ok with less quantity, this is the place to go

Nice and hep ambiance. Service was good with valet parking facility. Food quality and delivery timing was reasonable. The waiters were helpful in choosing menu when I wanted to try something different than regular idly, vada and dosa. Sambar was very tasty and tempting to drink it.

Authentic Tamilian food and fine hospitality.

I had the chennai thali which was only for ₹170 bucks. And it was very nice with fresh hot rice along with myriad of veg options, curd, papad and payasam. Great value and also loved their butter milk. A quick value and hygienic meal to have.

I went to this hotel with my friend and my kid by this morning 8AM (Sunday). Unexpectedly it was almost all the tables were engaged, and I guess the people from the nearby used to visit this place often every Sunday. Service was very pathetic since only couple of servers for the entire area. He is not even ready to listen us (management should be blamed for this). It's little bit pricy too, coffee -40, small dosa 75 and a normal size vada jist 40 rupees. It's not the hotel I can regularly visit, rather I need to prefer HotChips which is somewhat budget friendly hotel for me. Finally, the tase is good. But if you can get the same food with less price and same quality which one is your choice?

I don't know why vasantha bhavan can't follow the quality basic lunch meals even though they charge the same as their competitors... I ordered for chennai meals which has a very less portion of everything, adding on the rice was not hot on the other hand they served vada as a part of meal which was cold hopefully it was cooked for the morning service. I strongly won't reccomended this place

regular eating. chennai meals at 155 is good. 2 phulkas at 55 - bit pricey. mushroom curry quantity was good. masala papad good. 1 paneer or aloo parata is quite filling. but they didn't give the raita and kurma which was to come with them until asked. linch rush hour perhaps. Taste of food here used to be great, yet today, it tasted below average. 03. Waited for bill, after a while, when no one came, went and requested bill in reception. Vasantha bhavan never fails to impress. I remember as a kid I used to visit tambaram vasantha bhavan which is the oldest outlet. The taste never disappoint no matter how many branches opens up. The quality has fallen. The plates, spoons were not clean. Hygiene missing big time. Was understaffed on a weekday evening. So, we ourselves had to go to fetch spoon, pass on requirement, etc. There were a whole lot of flies tat made the experience even more annoying.

My wife and I had been here for dinner. We were attended to by S. Shawon who was quite cordial. We had Mysore Masala dosai, ghee roast, tomato soup, podi idli, toffee caramel ice cream and filter coffee. All items were very good, though the ghee roast could have been crispier. Shawon also recommended the kuzhi paniyarams. We had both the sweet and karam ones, and they were excellent! The filter coffee was perfect!

This branch which is in ecr has an amazing ambience( lighting, sound played in PA system) and friendly customer service which is a great plus point... I ordered mushroom soup which was creamy and good... Then I ordered chapathi which they served with an amazing kuruma( which is pure veg but will give u the taste like non veg kuruma with perfect aroma and spices were awesome) and they one more kuruma which is also very special which is spicy and made a great combo with raita... Lost it's Sheen. Looks like no or don't care management style. 90% of the staff are from other states and having language issues. Very delayed service. The item which is available are being told not available. Food is being prepared in more template formats and not with love or association. No tissue papers kept near the wash area and on table. Car parking available. Very bad restroom. Overall it's better to avoid.

Good spot for veg. Food in ECR. 6 car parking available n enough bike parking. Food quality and taste was really good. But service should be quick. Even for dis athey took time then usual. Taken parcel as well, neatly packed and no plastics used for packing which is really good. Overall we can visit the place with family but need a bit of patience for service delay.

Food wise OK but service is very poor. They don't know how to arrange the table for the guest I mean for 6seated or 8seated table only two or three people sitting(even thou 4seat or 2seat table free also) they know where to seat but supervisor or incharge duty to check & make arrangement for tat. Nearly 3times we faced the same problem. For each & everything we have to call, ask & to wait then only they can get it.

The food quality is nice. Myself and family have ordered a meals, tomato soup, chapati and parotta for lunch. There was no issue with the food the taste was fine and good. The ambience was also fine. But still I'm giving only 3 stars it's because of the service. It took more than 30 minutes for us to get the order. The food that we ordered was something that would have been prepared and would have served in a shirt time. But for chapati itself it took more than 25-30 minutes. I can understand its a peak hour that we came in all the tables were full. The main problem is they are very less staff which is tough to handle for a large amount of people. Can't blame the current working staffs as they would also face some pressure. Once my father got the meals they forgot to keep curd and pickle as the waiter quickly went to the other table where the customer was arguing. I think management should take a notice on this and Make sure they employ some waiters which would help them avoid hassle in peak hours.
