North Indian food items are great here.. Both quality and taste were good. This place is on the expensive side, when we consider their ambiance, which is cramped.. Main problem here is their service.. Waiters are rude, they are very keen on taking away used plates from our table, even without asking us. Not sure whether there is a shortage of utensils in this restaurant. Even while paying bill, the person at the billing counter was rude to the customers. Taste wise most of the North Indian dishes tasted good. They sell normal 200-300 ml Goli soda for 80 rupees..

Taste and quality of this place has not changed at all. Went here after almost 2 years and it was just like how it used to be before the pandemic. Same staff, same taste and quality. Their cream soup(of mushroom, of chicken, basically anything) is the best out there. I haven't had any soup that creamier anywhere else. Their grill servings are great to indulge. Out of all their roti options, I love their tandoori naan the most. Panner butter masal was creamier than anywhere else as usual. Finally for dessert, we had rabdi and goli soda. Goli soda was 125 rupees so i would recommend drinking it elsewhere since it's from third parties anyway. Their service is really commendable, such dedicated staff. To end it all, their finger bowls is something we don't find in many restaurants of such scale. Everything came to around 1100. Ambience and punjabi songs in the background has not changed at all during this pandemic break but there are added decorations for Christmas. Their OMR branch Anu's punjabi nation was closed permanently but the guindy branch is fully functional. I would highly recommend it for families, friends gatherings and even office/colleagues outings and for people who love to try North indian cuisine.

Wanted to rate 3.5 stars actually. Located just near to Hablis hotel. Small restaurant with an average decor. It has gained popularity as a North Indian food joint. Food quality is average and definitely tastes like North. But compared to quantity and quality of food, this place is expensive. Two things are impressive- staffs are very courteous and food serving is super fast. Authenticity of Punjabi food and upgradation of interior are two things where there is scope of improvement is present. Visiting once for experience is recommended.

When in Chennai , this one restaurant everyone should try , the food is of great taste and specifically the phulka which is typically like we eat in North India . All the non veg and veg items are tasty . You should try kebab if you are going for starters . Chennai + north Indian food = Punjabi nation

Don't judge a restaurant from it's entrance.... It's like that only... If you see from entrance your mind can tell you, is it my good choice? But after entering you will feel it's one of the best choice in terms of Good north Indian Dishes. I went with my friend. The ambience was so pleasant with proper lighting and soothing music. Next important thing is staffs and their interaction. They are very polite and very professional about their duty. Now come to main point, food and service. We ordered Chicken Patiyala, Tandoor Roti, and Mutton Biryani. Chicken patiyala 4.8/5 (Authentic taste and proper quantity) Tandoor Roti 5/5 (Soft and Proper) Mutton Biryani 5/5 (Proper Quantity with 6 pices mutton and sufficient rice, mutton was very tender and juicy... Good in taste, not that much extra spicy) Overall food quality was very good and in point of quantity it was sufficient. I recommend Punjabi Nation for dining in resonable price. ❤

A pretty old restaurant.. Has very few tables but the ambience is good. Service is excellent. Good place for North indian food. Its on the main road , few buildings from Hablis hotel (Just before Kathipara Flyover). Do try their cheese tandoori chicken which is my all time favourite. Parking would be on the main road itself.

I visited Punjabi Nation Guindy with my friends. Though this restaurant is situated at the main road they don't provide valet or they don't have any car parking space nearby. If bike you can park easily. We waited for 20-30 mins outside the restaurant because it was crowded, and the service person gave us the menu card outside itself and asked us to take a look so that we don't waste time inside the restaurant for ordering. Food was good and the taste was appetizing too. The restaurant was bright unlike the others, restaurant was so neat and clean. They greated us very well but from our order a starter got so much time to reach our table untill we reached dessert. Please don't over order food and waste it.

Ordered food in Zomato. 1. Poor packaging, though I paid an extra amount. 2. Food (chicken tikka biriyani I ordered) , the taste was okay. Note: After I highlight the packaging spill, Zomato refunded Rs.89/- to me.

🌻The Punjabi Nation🌻 in Guindy offers an authentic Punjabi 🐓🐐🐔🐐🥥🥥🥖🥚culinary experience with a delightful ambiance.🥦🫛🫑🧄🙏🍖 It's a must-visit spot where the food impresses with a solid 4.0/5 rating for taste, 🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳🧑‍🍳showcasing a variety of parathas, gajar ka halwa, and refreshing Mango lassi.🍶🍤🍖🥦 The staff, earning a perfect 5/5 for their kindness, promptly caters to any request. I had been dining out here for last 4 years, however in the last months the taste has taken a back seat. For higher prices the quality of food and the taste have dropped drastically. My children who used to love eating here have now stop asking me to take them here as well. Hope the team can check and bring in the right people to get back the taste once served.

We had a get together with office folks and family here. We really had a good time and also the taste of veg food was quite nice. In non veg we tasted chicken platter which was quite nice to taste buds. But we need to avoid biriyani here It tastes like tomato rice. Phulka and rotis along with the gravy is top notch here. Space is a little bit crunchy it can accommodate only 25 pax at a time max. Service was top class. Waiting time is less. Overall i will recommend to family and friends to have tasty food.

  • 2/5 AMARNATH K. 1 year ago on Google
Very bad experience. Ambience is ok but taste is bad in the name of Punjabi cuisine. Also price is too high for the offering. Not recommended if you would like to try authentic Punjabi style or budget friendly option. However staffs are too good and friendly. Only thing we liked is their Mint Chutney.

  • 4/5 Gopinath S. 1 year ago on Google
Restaurant that satisfies for Punjabi food cravings. We can enjoy roti and Punjabi side dishes along with famous lassi. Starters are costly compared to other restaurants.

  • 5/5 saikat B. 1 year ago on Google
I love the food here I visited this restaurant many times over period of time and all the time their taste remain same. I tried here non-veg and veg. And both I love it. If you are here try rumali roti and bhindi masala its awesome. Their service is decent and quantity is good. Moreover you didn't get oily feeling after eating. At least I hadn't got it yet. If you want some north Indian flavour and want to enjoy it than please do come here and try it out.

All the items were Little costlier. All tastes good but not top notch. Small area with less seating, so peak hours need to wait for some time.

Fooled by the reviews, I ordered chicken butter masala and I must say it's neither worth the 'punjabi' hype nor the price. It's the most blunt chicken dish I've ever had in my life, few tasteless pulled chicken breast pieces in a pure veg gravy base. For the asking price I hope they could definitely do better. Overall not recommended.

I love this place for lunch, those who are on diet food please be cautious. Food here is awesome but during my last visit I think the chef got changed and chicken had too much of flour coating and quality is little low still I will visit this place and I strongly recommend. Parking will be taken care by the security. I love the small onions soaked in vinegar which is an authentic punjabi way of starter in each meal. Experienced the same at Punjab.

We ordered Fish fingers, butter chicken and chicken curry. All the food items were really delicious. Special mention - sweet lassi and grilled chicken. So tasty !! Must-try for Punjabi food lovers!!

A very average kind of shabby old place. Nothing so great to mention but kind of okay types restaurant. The biryani though is very close to boiled rice with chicken. Hope they change the cook else they are fine with the average types tag!!

A lovely place to visit for authentic Punjabi food. The food was a bit spicy so for those who don't like spice, take a bit of caution while ordering. Even the place looks small from the outside, the ambience inside is very good and had nothing to complain about.

The service was good and the ambience was good too. I chose the Mushroom Pepper Salt as the starter. It was too salty. However, for Mushroom lovers, this would be a nice option. The main course was veg combo: 2 rotis, jeera rice;dhal and paneer gravy. Overall, the non veg options seem to be better, a must visit for to experince punjabi cuisine

  • 5/5 Akila R. 2 years ago on Google
Yummy food!!! I always love to order from Punjabi nation on swiggy. The food is always fresh, hot, and mouth watery. The taste is delicious and I try new items everytime I order. Yummy. Aloo parata, Palak paneer, kadai mushroom, fried rice and the list goes on.

This place served better Food before COVID Lockdowns. Now I feel they are finding their niche. The Chicken Tikka Masala I had during my last visit tasted like Paneer Butter Masala. I miss the Punjabi Authenticity of food there. Hope they Improve on it.

Loved the cheese chicken tandoori here, quite a different taste than a normal tandoori. The taste of Paneer Tikka briyani was also ok, especially the chicken pieces in the briyani was good. A nice place to visit with your friends & family. The place is small, try to book a reservation to avoid waiting.

The moment you enter, you’ll get a feeling of a unique Punjabi environment... Dhol, Jeep, Mud pots, Bicycle, Auto, Colourful walls etc... Trust me guys – undeniably great, lip smacking and heavenly taste (except lassi)... Though seems to be a little costly but worth every penny... Pics attached... Important Note: If you’re in hurry and looking for a quick bite, this place is definitely NOT for you... Service is little slow... Hence if you have leisure time and wish to have some good food spending time with family of friends, then you can hit this place...

  • 5/5 naveen r. 2 years ago on Google
A very good choice for veg and non veg. Parking is a hassle. Naan, Paneer platter and Pulav are best. Don't forget their Mango Lassi at the end.

The place n ambience are cosy.a very small place. Staff are good. Went during Christmas time n decoration were nice. But the food taste was ok. I tried biriyani and it was very very normal. Maybe other North Indian dishes were the highlights of the restaurant. But my exclusive was very ok. Can try once but completely depends on your taste of food. Also price is bit expensive compared to wat they serve.

A/C Restaurant. Had Non Veg Combo (Jeera Rice + 2 Gravy + 2 Naan + Papad), Phulka and Chicken Spring Roll. After order there was usual waiting time of 10-15 mins. All the dishes was good. There was some soft drinks also available. Parking will be bit difficult as it is on main road.

This Punjabi Nation restaurant serving some best foods for decades. This is one of the best Punjabi restaurants in Chennai, rates are slightly higher than other restaurants but it's worth for the quality of food served here. Major drawback of the restaurant is parking, you dont have proper parking here. Bikes to be parked on the platform or on the sides of the road.

Small and neat ambience. Food was good. But none of the staffs wears mask on duty time even in front of the guest.
