On our way to ECR we ended up at Tryst Cafe. It’s in the main road at neelankarai towards mahabs. The outlet is under some renovation but fully open and operational. The staff are courteous and welcoming and the service was quick. They have a wide selection of food on the menu and it’s halal too. All items were avaible and the taste was good and fresh. Try their bagels , burgers and bites. The gourmet store next door has a bakery and breads, they have a vast selection of desserts and fresh breads, plus a lot of items to add to your pantry. Go for it !

I was visiting Tryst Cafe in Neelangarai after a very long time. My last visit there was quite memorable. The taste of the seafood hotpot and the succulent steak still lingered. When we reached there we found that the place was under renovation and the food we wanted was missing from the menu. We had to make do with a small selection of items. I ordered the Seafood Mac n Cheese and my friend ordered the Texas Cheddar Chicken Burger. The Mac n Cheese was predominantly white sauce with a little cheese thrown in. It didn't taste fresh. The seafood consisted of some rubbery prawns which tasted old and fishy. My friend quite enjoyed his burger, though I was quite disappointed. However, the highlight of the Cafe is the Tryst Gourmet Patisserie located next door. The goods on display were truly scrumptious. We ordered an assortment of Quiches, including, Beef , Chicken, Tuna, Mushroom and Cheese. Butter Croissants, Almond Croissant and some Fudge Brownies to take home. The Fudge Brownies were dry and average but the rest was really yummy. The Croissants were buttery and flaky and melt in your mouth. The Almond Croissant was amazing, with its unexpected custard filling. The Patisserie also sold all sorts of packed goodies like exotic sauces, cheeses, cold cuts, noodles, pasta etc. which are hard to come by locally. I would rate the Patisserie five stars though the food in the Café was disappointing.

Unique place for all sweet and savored tooth buds. Exquisite dessert, different bread varieties. The pastries' varieties keep changing, so u will always end up tasting a different one on each visit. Price is ok for the taste, quantity, and quality. Their store stocks an array of packed imported food. Every possible ingredient for a continental meal is available here. There is an exclusive dining space. New add on this time is a proper kitchen serving an extensive menu. Car parking available.

Tryst cafe is a good spot to try different food items and pastries. 😋 The place is small and simple but the food is quite good. 💯 I kinda like their breakfast menu. I tried their multigrain bagel sandwich with mushroom egg and French fries. 😋 Also tried their Pesto Spaghetti which was yum 🤤 Their hot chocolate was good but not the best. Tried their Nutella cheesecake but it was not really my fav. Overall my experience was good. ❣️

Always a good time here. The food is amazing and there is a place to sit outside. If you love cats then you'll love it because they have domestic cats who are very friendly. The BBQ beef burger is one of the best I've had in the city. You can also pick up any drink you like from the counters and go with your food. Good parking for both two and 4 wheelers. Peaceful place.

Tryst was on the list for a while. This cafe ambience is quite bare basic but the food more than makes up for it. We ordered the Crispy Chicken Wonton, Pulled Chicken Salad, Bolognese Beef Pasta & a fresh lime mint to wash it all down. The highlight was definitely the Beef Bolognese Pasta. Quite a gastronomic delight. Quite close behind was the Wontons. The salad was pretty regular fare! They have a pizza brick oven but it wasn’t fired up, guess it’s on the cards. The store attached to it has a wide variety of pasta, sauces, marmalades for some cafe inspired cooking if one wishes to. We went on a weekday so was pretty empty except for the regular stream of food delivery guys. They have parking for maybe 3 cars so can be tricky if you don’t find a spot. Might come back just for the Bolognese Pasta.

Since I returned to Chennai many friends suggested this place for a good food and chilling with family and friends I have explored so many places in ECR and everytime I pass by this cafe I have bought some of their cakes and desserts on the go but dining was pending. Whatever I bought on the go was nice. Their eclair, cakes and breads. Nothing overwhelming but nice Today after hoisting the flag and it was around 9'30 so decided to visit tryst cafe to have something like a brunch. Called them before leaving and they said dining is there and breakfast available. As soon as I enter, I politely asked a staff, can I take pictures of the cakes and desserts. He declined not sure why. After I mentioned and showed my social media pages, he agreed to take pics. First thing you notice is every staff is walking up and down busily but nobody mentioned where to sit and gave the menu. What will a 8yr kid and vegetarian like to have ? Either waffle or pancake with maple syrup. Unfortunately both were not available. The staff suggested French toast as it is same like waffle and pancake. Didn't understand the logic but said okay. My wife is vegetarian and asked for veg options. Hash brown is the only veg dish was the response. I was baffled because while entering I saw too many things. I go to counter and see Quiche and saw them making Pizza so ordered. He said order should be given from table. Returned and the staff said you have to order from the counter. I was like what's happening. Communication gap between 4 staffs who were present at that time. Finally Quiche and veg pizza arrived. In fact the only dish everyone enjoyed was the rectangle pizza. Quiche was ok could have more cheese and herb. French toast was okay and scrambled egg was cold. After 20mins I reminded the staff that there is no cutlery and he gets it. Same with salt and pepper. I am sorry, I came with a huge expectation but experience was not even close. The desserts are good, cakes are very nice and we also got some take away. But the staffs could do a better work. While stepping out I saw a person eating beef burger but it wasn't there in the menu and nobody informed. May be we went very early so the staff weren't prepared or this place is only good for delivery. Dining is not their forte. Spent almost 1.7k for this and guess what. We went to a proper breakfast place and ate dosa, idli and coffee. That's when we were content. Bill was less than 50% of what Tryst Cafe charged ,🙄 May be it was one bad day in office but unfortunately it is what it is.

They have good varieties of bakery items including some beef based. Also they have frozen dumplings and many foreign branded packed food items. They have seating inside to sit and eat there itself. Their cakes and macaroon were so awesome. Must try!!

Some renovation seems to be happening at the moment. Couldn't access the outdoor seating. Hope the final work turns out to be good as presently what we have is just white walls and some random photos hung over. Coming to the food, not many varieties to choose from. The menu is just a printed excel sheet. Taste wise, it was a 3.75/5

Really bad food most of it is pre cooked and reheated. Pasta is super salty so people who have blood pressure problems and need a higher sodium content please order their pasta based dishes will solve your problem.

The old dishes of tryst (burgers and pizzas) are probably not given great importance after Shiraz taken over. After management has changed, the food of tryst is not great. ?special mention- cats roam around in the garden area and are really cute. They get their first option to sit on the sofas and chairs :)

Decent ambiance, both inside and outside. The outdoor could have been cleaner. Went for breakfast and was satisfied with the taste. The choices were limited but the food was tasty. If it was not for the flies, it would have been a pleasant experience. Loved the store and they have a lot of stuff and a lot of them were prepared in-house under the "Tryst" brand. P.S. Do something about the flies.

Ordered Pan cake, it was to my complete disappointment. No maple syrup, just some honey syrup. Although the blueberry jam was good. Pan cake was made following Dosa preparation, very bad. After seeing it and tasting it, you will never have Pan cake again. I was looking this place for a good english breakfast for fully disappointed. Bagel was kind of fine, but better to take away instead of dining there. Toast it well and have it with Philadelphia cheese at home.

This was the best go to place while my son was at the Neelankarai campus, Vaels school, as it serves fresh and quality is unbeatable. Loved food, simplicity of the ambience and the array of baking stuffs.

Ambience- Ordered online. Pocket friendly- Reasonable for the quantity and variety served. Food- Profiteroles are very rare to get and I found this one cafe nearby making those. It was a Vanilla filled profiterole layered with Choci sauce. It was creamy and there was well balance of sweetness overall. Only issue was the dough that was hard. I would have preferred to warm it a bit but its difficult to achieve for delivery orders. Fig Tart was delicious with a unique flavour. It had a slight spiciness to it. Chocolate Flan was simply a Chocolate Pie and was disappointed with the wrong order but since it was too late at night already, did not reorder. Chocolate Pie was perfect except for the dough which was hard. Again would have preferred it to be heated. Overall a very impressive place to satisfy your dessert cravings. Will recommend to have a dine in than getting it delivered. Service- Very prompt and quick. The zomato menu had very less items visible. I called the cafe and they added all available items on the menu immediately. Rating- 4.5 as wrong dessert delivered.

Just ordered a steak from swiggy. seems like cascade made it. i ordered it from the tryst cafe swiggy page expecting a good meal. The delivery driver dropped my food and one of my three drinks i've ordered broke. one of the drinks was only quarter full and the sweet lime was bitter and tasted horrible. The beef steak was a ROBBERY for 700. I WANT MY MONEY BACK. HORRIBLE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.

Lovely place that opens early for a continental breakfast. The pastries and other food on sale at the counter outside can also be ordered n are served warm n fresh. The cheese cake, chicken quiche and tuna sandwiches were tasty. Cappuchino was also great. Overall good dining experience with very courteous staff.

Great food. We also visit imported sauces, cheese, drinks and snacks. The only thing that could be improved is the ambience in the restaurant as it feels empty most of the time and just silent. Nonetheless, 5 stars!

The most cleanest place I ve been too, especially during times like these. When most shops ran out of supplies, they still have it all and also they put in a lot of effort to keep the whole place well sanitized.

They launched their breakfast menu the day we decided to drop in. The French toast Is to kill for...so light and spongy and melting in the mouth. Great food and has an ample store to stock up as well.

Service was slow but the waiter was very polite. Sit outside only if you are a cat parent. I saw 7 beauties lounging around. I am and I enjoyed every minute. Lovely outdoor seating. Not too many options on the menu though. Cool place to just smoke, catch a quick burger and chill. Their chocolate truffle is worth a mention.

A bit over rated I felt. The food looked like the stuffing was frozen stuff that was heated/fried. Definitely the bakery items were fresh but the restaurant didn't feel worth the money. Maybe post covid they are getting things in order. I feel can do better for the price

I was so hungry and I actually wanted to visit Old Madras cafe which was opposite to Tryst. Old Madras was closed by the time me and niece reached and that waz a good thing cuz we got to try out this wonderful cafe. We ordered crispy chicken with ham sandwich and dragon roll. They served this dragon roll with this sauce, I think indeed that they made their own sauce and didn't buy it from anyone because it waz so so good with the roll. And the roll, oh boy, I waz impressed by the first bite. My niece she sure did love it too. And the chicken with ham sandwich, is one of the best sandwiches I had and it sure did fill my tummy. We had complementary french fries, which didn't taste like complementary, it waz way way better than McD's fries. Giving four stars cuz I felt a bit costly for per person. Dragon roll is a must try. Oh almost forgot, me and my niece played the crossword puzzle until our order were served. That's was my favourite part!❤️

Toooooo many cats, (I am quiet a regular visitor) a very few time they have terrorized me while having my food. For instance, a group of cats surrounding you and lookin fiercely like give me your food or we will attack you. Note: --> When you are there never forget to buy their fresh baked breads it would be fantastic. --> If you didn't find any continental ingredient any where in the city am pretty sure you could find that here.

The store in itself is amazing with its products on shelf and pastries available. But the dine-in facility is sub par with its ambience. Staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Must try - breads, any kind! Their tarts are brilliant with fruit filling and fresh fruit topping.

Good place to have sandwich and french toast as morning breakfast. Pasterie options are also wide open. Must try macaroons. We can see options to but export items like cheese, butter, jams and etc like Amma Naana shop but limited items only. Parking is available in store and washroom is also clean.

I tried their baked goods and I was super disappointed. I was craving for some good pastries and ended up here because The Old Madras Baking Company (the best in town) was closed at the time. I was very excited seeing the way everything was showcased. Everything looked appealing to the eyes. Food that looks good doesn't necessarily mean it tastes good 😢. The items I tried: 1. Cheese quiche - 2.5/5 (only because it was better than the others) 2. Chocolate eclair - 1.5/5 ( it was not an eclair, I mean come on!) 3. Hazelnut cheesecake - 1/5 (there wasn't even any hazelnut flavour in it, let alone the cheesecake) 4. Vanilla cupcake - 2/5 ( cream was of poor quality) 5. Fudge brownie - 1/5 ( just bad) 6. Japanese cheesecake (had high expectations) - 2/5 (better than the other pastries but it's not an authentic cheesecake) I don't mind paying for a good product but this was nowhere close to decent. The pricing was ridiculous for the product taste and quality. Ruined it all for me.

They have a small outdoor garden at the back which is cozy. You must try the lip smacking cheesecakes! My favourite - Blueberry!

Was better before now in March 2020 it’s not anymore the place to be. No welcoming staff. The bread and cakes not fresh and sometimes decayed. Sometimes the staff in the Shop Even do not recognize the customer arrives because the watch Film on their mobile. Disappointing and disastrous

Food is decent as other cafe , good place to spend time with friends , cats are fine but rat ???? You will one or two big rats around for which is find of unhygienic. You will see 7-8 cats around , specially a white cats walks near you ...:) ??? Place to sit are cleaned and maintained but srounding is well maintained. Evening time they play match on a projector which is nice

Loved this place for its decent ambience. Lot of #cats ?? allround and sleeping on the tables gives a good experience. It's connected with shopping area too. I feel that food is expensive. Live #music and open TV gives a feel good experience to watch cricket and tennis. I recommend this place for its ambience and a beautiful garden view ?.

I recently ordered a carrot cake from this cafe - I had high hopes as the price was quite for 1/2 kg .To my dismay the cake was not properly baked very creamy topping was like curdled . (awfully too much for a carrot cake) Also The cake tasted raw .. when I called them to say it’s not upto the mark surprisingly I got a reply from the owner that’s their recipe and it’s how it will taste ?this was more awful than the cake itself !!?

The cheese cake is very average. I don’t know why the cheese cakes here are priced so high. I have had cheese cakes around different cities in India and this by far was the most disappointing keeping in mind the price and the taste off course.

somehow over the last couple of visits, my love for tryst has gone down. the last time I was here, we ordered soup, starters and then the main course. they delivered the main course first, soup next, finally to finish off the meal, starters. this is one reason why I made my first statement. now, what was interesting to observe is, the janitor ended up doubling up for a waiter. on one hand he had an electric housefly killing weapon and on the other, he handed our bill voucher. he surely knows how to multitask. overall, avoidable.

A different feel when one sees cats sleeping on the sofa / chair meant for humans - a smile will come on any cat lover's face. Aha!! What a place to be in. All the cats allow humans to stroke them. Food - a dream for non-veg lovers, not much choice for veg guys as we sadly found out. We had to settle with mushroom soup and veg lasagne. The other option was veg burger. We felt let down but the cats raised our spirits. The retail outlet had awesome collection of vinegar, sauces, pickles, cheese etc. We decided to come again for them.

Amazing choice for a y meal of the day. The breakfast is great. The ambience is really good. The shop also has outdoor restaurant option. There are a good variety of finger food and short eats at the entrance which is also a bakers. Cafe is inside the shop. The car parking is also very spacious and can accomodate a 5 to 6 cars in a row . This cafe is located by the highway and therefore it is very easy to locate it the staff and service is average. If there is any change I might want I would like the staff be a little more courteous and friendly towards the xhstomers the food is a little pricy a d therefore order accordingly. Food is tasty

One of the best ambience I have witnessed lately. Good place to hangout with your kith and kin. Grapes above your head will surely surprise you. Loved the way owner themselves were involved in making our visit worth.

If the service has been provided much better, I would have gone with a five star rating. The service by the staffs should be improved. The food quality is good and the ambiance makes the place worth the pay for. You can spend quality time in here. This playlist is just amazing during evening time.

A nice place to hang out with your friends or loved ones. It serves Persian/ Irani cuisine. The kebabs were nice and very different from our regular tandoori fare. You get a full meal plate dish for individual serving which consists of meat, rice, salad and interestingly, chilli to spice up the food to your liking ! The taste was refreshingly different from the regular gravies we get otherwise. Everything tasted different from each other which was reassuring ? All in all a good dining experience!

It had great interiors with books, posters and awesome open space facing the grapes hanging in the mid. The place had almost 15 cats roaming, sleeping and playing around. You will love this place if you are a cat lover. Food was delicious and good. Affordable prices and relaxed place for catching up a good conversation over food.
