Beautiful quiet ambience for evening dates with your partners. Also a good hangout spot for friends. Good service, great food but definitely expensive on your pocket. Expect to spend atleast 1000 per person for a nice meal. Portion sizes are decent. Otherwise car parking space might get a bit tricky, restrooms are good. They could have also reserved some space indoors for those seeking to have a nice lunch. Otherwise it gets warm and sweaty during summers.

As we had dinner there, we escaped the heat of the noon, but had very poor lighting. You gotta reserve and book earlier for the best seats. Perfect ambience for date nights and celebrations. They do the decorations too. The food was alright, but the service was poor. Several times they had misplaced the orders. I had requested just another candle but never got one. I even received a small slice of lemon only after asking multiple times for it, and by then I had finished half of my food. My favourite was the tom yum soup. Other than that I wasn't satisfied with the food. Panko Fried Fish is just fish n chips but without flavour. They have great choices for alcohol. Also, they have a proper parking space.

With the advantage of being along the coast, it is not a bad idea for a lunch date either as their inside seating and rooftop dining has got you covered. You can enjoy your meal with a view of the beach from their small but lovely rooftop space and sip on all the cocktails you want. As for the food - the starters from their continental menu are stellar. The place is easier to find and the parking is done on the roads. The service here is extremely slow . The order is taken slowly so was the service . The AC is not available. I don't think everyone can take Chennai's heat in April, May and June. We ordered veg and non veg pasta along with some mock tails, taste was also good 😊 Good cafe to hangout and great for taking pictures. You can enjoy the beach 🏝 on your way back.

The ambience is really nice, i never been so relaxed in any restaurant before. I have arranged a birthday surprise for my fiancé yesterday and today really they made the decoration everything so well and on-time. He was very surprised with the lovely ambience and the effort which they took to keep us convenient throughout the lunch. Food taste is also good and we get reasonable quantity for what we pay!! The service provided by their staff Vicky was very good. He was so polite and kept us in comfort during the order. He guided us about the dishes so we got a chance to taste new varieties. Also their staff Chandra was really helpful during the booking process and she was so polite and answered our queries without any hesitation.

Service at Kipling Cafe falls short of expectations. The efficiency and coordination in serving orders appear to be areas needing immediate attention. Orders were mixed up, and the wait times were excessive, with drinks taking up to 40 minutes to arrive and food taking similarly long. Such delays significantly detract from the overall dining experience, despite the pleasant demeanor of the waiter, who did his best under the circumstances.

Visited there for a NY buffet and party, I would say it was very well organised, food was delicious at a decent price. Excelled at service and taste. Vibe rich ambience surrounded by nature and beaches. Ample parking and nearby beach for a good time.

Both open air and huts available for seating which provides privacy and good for celebrations. Staff are well trained and friendly but food quality can get better. Bar has limited options. If you are looking for Chinese then it’s not the place for you. You will get Indian Thai cuisine. Evenings you need mosquito repellent coils. Parking available. Food portions are generous.

The Cafe has been in my to visit place for a long time and on my drive back from mahabalipuram,thought of visiting it The place is easier to find and the parking is done on the roads.Being a weekday it's not very crowded and we got a seat immediately.The ambience is good with a hut themed outdoor sitting. Ordered brushetta platter,French fries for appetizer.minestrone soup Brusheetta platter was yummy. On the mains we had vegetable lasagne ,spinach ravioli and Kipling special pizza.out of it the lasagne is the show stealer and in the dessert, tiramisu is mind blowing may be the best I had tasted. Had a good relaxing time,good food and a very quick service.Definitely recommend for a visit. On the flip,quite expensive for the portion served .

I would have given a rating of one star. However, two star was given for the lovely ambience the restaurant has. This is my second visit to the restaurant. None of the ordered foods were tasty unlike my previous visit before corona. We have tried Prawn, Fish barbeque, Chicken starters, Pizza... It is completely waste of money. The quality is very substandard. We have found hair in the Pizza. The Chief chef apologized for the issue and was ready for a replacement. But I lose hope... Recommended if you want to be in a quite nature friendly place for a dinner/lunch with a glass in your hand🥂. Otherwise a big NO.

The place was huge and had a lot of character. However, the restaurant was definitely struggling to manage the huge crowd they were attracting. They struggled to deliver the dishes on time and also with their inventory. Most of the dishes we tried to order were not available which was disappointing. However, the taste was good. The food was served hot and fresh. Opt for this restaurant if you have a good amount of time to spend and would love to be in a place that feels more like a garden than an enclosed building.

It’s a perfect date spot. They have a candlelight setup and it’s really amazing. The lighting and the ambiance is perfect 🤩 Coming to the food, we had their chicken lasagna, drunken noodles and guava punch. Honestly, loved everything ♥️ The best lasagna I ever had. Their service was also good and it was kinda a peaceful spot in a crowded area.

Cafe is present in a calm street near the crowded akarai junction. There setup was good with plenty of plants well maintained. They had hut and plenty of seats but our bad day we were seated in an old plastic chair(added the pic). Notice the other tables while coming out otherwise would have asked for change at starting . For the price they charge this chair is not acceptable. There menu card was big had lot of continental dish. Service was fast and good. The food we tried are good but not unique, also felt overpriced.

I’ve been hearing of Kipling Cafe for a long time, but it’s definitely not worth the hype. There’s a good ambience, and the service is not bad, but the food is horrible. The food wasn’t fresh, it tasted as if it was a few days old. The only things that were moderately good were French Fries, Fried Rice, Kadai Chicken and Lamb Chops. Definitely not worth the price. Not really recommended.

This is one of the must go place in Chennai. Located in the ECR side. Very nearby to the ECR beach but this cafe does not have the beach access. Overall ambience and food are great. Service is also prompt. Surely visit again.

Even though heard about this place very long time, had a chance to visit only recently. Plenty of tables and seating options (within pergola or open air etc.,). Got a nice place and tried Tom Yum Soup, Classic Chicken tikka, Bruschetta platter and Pizza. Chicken tikka was soft and juicy and tasted good with the mint chutney. Pizza was loaded with cheese and apt measures of vegetables with a thin crust and tasted good. Finished off with a mango lassi and a Tiramisu cake.

Great cafe to hangout with friends! Good food and good ambience! Decent vegetarian options. We ordered mozzarella sticks which was just cheese sticks, not mozzarella for sure. Farmers pizza was excellent with a lot of olives and cheese! The waiters do seem to be overwhelmed on weekends, will recommend to get reservations way ahead.

Great place for food with beautiful open ambience and courteous staff . We went for lunch and ordered spinach ravioli which was delicious and have perfect blend of all the flavours. Second dish we ordered was fish in chilli sauce. It was served with steamed rice . Fish was very soft and juicy though i feel gravy was less to have with rice . Overall great experience.

Beautiful and a pleasant ambience with the beach next door.. Food was of great taste.. must say of their Squid starter was extra delicious 😋 Very friendly staffs especially Mr.Vetri who helped us selecting a cozy and a comfortable place as we were kids.. Worst service. The place says it opens by 12, but we reached there 10 mins earlier. The question from the security person was "who asked u to come early?" And they said the table will be provided only by 12, but even after 12.15, we had to go and ask twice to get a table. And, to get the menu card, it took 10 mins and that too after we searching for the person. To place the order, we again have to search for the person, which happened only after 10 mins and we calling the manager and complained. Adding to all this, they levy 10% service charge for this. Never going again.

Prior booking is required to opt for huts and rooftops. Night tables were open roofed under the tree on a candle light. The food was freshly prepared and yum. Best place to chill with your friends in ECR. the ambience is really great and food was also great. Other than the roof top place, they have indoor and out door place to sit. this place is very spacious and maintained well. The only problem that we faced it was difficult to get cab from there to other part of the city. And I personally didn't like the cappuccino.

The laid back ambiance along with the food felt like a a warm goan experience. All the dishes were wonderful and the Thai squid is a must try. The pizzas were defiantly better than most of the nearby joints as was the tiramasu .all in all a great weekend outing .

Dined at this place on 15th Feb just to avoid the crowd on 14th Feb. The place is good with nice ambience and great service. Only thing we didn’t was the food quantity and taste. The food tasted OK and the quantity was less compared to price of it.

Kipling is always known for a beautiful garden setting. N now it's considered more of a pub, we were asked to complete a small registration at the entry. We chose to have some coffee. Nobody attended to us unless we had to call someone. The staff behavior was quite rude, as he was all the time busy with his mobile phone and when we told the coffee served was cold. He got offended n took it too personal. He returned after a long while with the coffee extremely hot like an act of revenge. That made us feel uncomfortable, as we wanted to have a nice coffee and catching up with friends after years. Where we had been engulfed with this staff behavior ruined it all for us. After all we made a wrong choice. No value for money. Nor a respectful place.

Been to this place like 10 times now. The environment is pretty peaceful and the beach is at a walking distance. The food is great, although the service will take longer than usual but it's worth it. Would recommend their non veg kebab platter. Ideal place for dates and family get-togethers.

Kiplings is a good place to be at. They have a wonderful outdoor setup and an indoor as well! Outdoor stands out apart when compared to indoor! They have a nice selection of food and beverage menu (both alcoholic and non alcoholic). Ideal place for a perfect date or a team gathering! Pizzas are good and so is their Indian menu

Great food. Very different and variety of cuisine. Nice ambience. Good service. Desserts are yummy too. However, the baguette in bruschetta was too hard ... probably it wasn't fresh. Tiramisu wasn't available but we were suggested to have Omega instead, which turned out to be fantastic too.

Visited Kipling cafe for a birthday lunch. The ambience was good. The naan and gravy tasted good. The panneer tikka was amazing. It was delicious. But the chicken breast steak with mashed potatoes was bad. The meat was not completely cooked and the sauce did not pair well with the whole dish and the mashed potatoes were too rich the veggies we're good and crunchy. Overall it was a decent experience. Definitely recommend for the ambience. Instagrammable!

The most important thing first. The food is excellent and the staff are helpful. Ambience is GOOD but the sheer number of people celebrating anniversaries here tend to fill the place up with heart balloons and golden "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY" letter balloons. Would've liked the table spacing to be a bit more and the menu to be easier to choose from. There are a LOT of items across 3 different cuisines to choose from and it can get confusing.

We had reserved the place for our friend's birthday party at a cost of Rs.4200. First off, please don't visit this place during daytime if you're looking for the ambience. Secondly, when we got there the decorations were awful. The alphabets were wrongly arranged as "BIRHTDAY". We had to change it for ourselves afterwards. The cake (500g) was not good at all which was included in the above cost. Thirdly, I would like to narrate the incident. There were two bisleri water bottles which generally cost Rs.20/bottle. Since we were thirsty, we opened both the bottles and started drinking. After the party was over, we were there for around 45mins and left. After coming half way through, my friend gets a call that we haven't paid for the water bottles which cost Rs.105! Like what does Rs.4200 actually cover in the b'day party? I really don't understand what they were thinking. Turn our bikes around and come again to pay for the bottles? While returning home driving, he gets 4-5 calls from the cafe. This is not fair.In case you're planning for a party, please do it at the evening/night.

Waiters forget or miss few orders Need to follow up with waiters each time after the order. May be head count of the waiters need to be increased, may be they feel the pressure or stress . Seats / Chairs could be better and ergonomic.

It was really a wonderful experience my wife and I had in Kipling Cafe. I reserved a table for a candle light dinner. Right from my enquiry for reservation till the moment we had left our reserved table, it was such an awestruck service provided by the manger. Thank You Mr Vinoth. At an affordable cost, not too far from the city, it is worth spending an evening here in Kipling cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience. And the table decorations were made as they had promised. A special kudos to the team for fulfilling your promises.

This is a place with great potential, beautiful setup with garden tables, an A/C lounge and a rooftop place from where the sea is visable. We had some western cuisine, it was acceptable but certainly nothing as special as the price indicated. Service was very slow, do not come if you want a quick bite. We wew two people and ordered the same dish, they brought only one and had to rush to create the second one. Tables can do with some refinishing.

We went to kipling cafe for my husband's birthday dinner. Ambience was good with IPL live screening🏏 (without audio). But as it was a summer night and weather was too bad there wasn't much of air flow (except for the hut which had a fan). So choose wisely if you are visiting during summers! The food there was Good. What we ordered: Mozzarella cheese fingers (must have) Stuffed Mushrooms Garlic Bread Chilli cheese Manchow with fried noodles soup. Teriyaki wings Coconut fried prawns Kipling spl pizza Fajita Sizzler (must have) Sizzling chocolate brownie (must have) Panna cotta ( must have) In summary : Ambience is good. Food is sumptuous. Staffs are polite and explain the preparation in detail if you need help to decide on the order. Price is a bit on high, quantity is ok. Other facilities: Ample car parking, Separate Rest rooms for gents and ladies.
