The hotel failed to prove its fame. In every way, it failed to show even the basic criteria. Right from hospitality to taste everything was not good. At the Entrance, temperature check was done, but then there was no sanitizing process. Ground floor wasn't for dining, but we're guided to the first floor. What people who couldn't climb do? No lift facility, even. The waiters and house keepers roaming around, were numbered higher than customers. Still took so long for them to get the order from us after we seated. Some Waiters doesn't know certain dishes. And even after the chef was explained, we were served with the some different dish rather than the one we ordered. Beyond everything, It took nearly 40 minutes, when we received our starters, which was served before the soup. I wonder, that in such a big restaurant, they failed to serve in order. Quantity was fine. Which triggered the eager to eat, leading to ultimate fail in Quality. ONLY the menu card is showy. Most of the items were not available, and the taste is very poor. Presentation is not up to the mark. 3 times they provided, empty Salt and pepper containers without even checking. One nice thing was the copper tumblers, which would not be considered when among so much flaws. The dishes are Unworthy for the price. The climax felt, not fulfilled stomach and heart. I hardly recommend, unless they change everything.

DTK Biryani is known for their traditional aroma and flavour, so we felt good in taste as usual. Starters are lip smacking. But they took more time to deliver the order even for biryani at 2.30pm. Boneless mutton not available. Waitstaff are good in welcoming, seating guests, offering recommendations to upsell appetizers. I guess It would be better if waiters inform about delay time for the specific item while ordering because after waiting long time for biryani we again waited for wheat parotta and cancelled at last. Such things to be avoided to show stellar performance of waitstaff. The place is with good seat arrangement and cleanliness.

We love Thalappakatti but today they did a biggest SCAM and I felt so ripped off. They have this unlimited dosa & parotta festival (refer image for details) I had a sudden excitement to try it out. One gravy and one dosa at first. Dosa was HUGE, obviously expected but that’s okay! The Gravy was finished by the time I finished half of first dosa. I asked for a refill, apparently only dosa parotta are unlimited, not gravy. So i must eat second dosa with nothing. We literally laughed at this huge JOKE. A kind request to the Thalappaktti Marketing Team - your restaurant has established name, please don’t spoil it with these cheap stunts so called “strategy”. Even the waiter felt bad for me eating a dosa and curry for almost 400rs, he offered two drinks on the house. I’m in a good mood so i joke about this, not everybody. Please chuck this stupid strategy and remain the same. No stunts.

Worst restaurant , today's lunch ordered through zomato is royally screwed by this restaurant. After Corona this is the first outside food we had ordered, and got reheated kola urundai, chicken 65, chicken kothu porata. Kids who were expecting a good lunch were totally disappointed and had to throw this. I recommend NOT TO BUY FROM THIS RESTAURANT.

We had egg biryani here. Taste was great and different. Sufficient quantity for one person. Hotel staff were good and polite. Ambience was nice. These are good aspects. But the major negative thing is the price. I know this is a high end restaurant and the quality is good, agreed. But charging 60 rupees for a boiled egg/omlette is simply day robbery. Even if you can afford, i feel it's still foolish to eat at this price. Not money's worth. Parking is another issue. On a busy day, you've to park your vehicle in main road.. Hope this helps. Edit: the hotel mgmt replied and promised to take action. That's a very Swift response. Great!

This restaurant will serve old chicken pieces and they won't waste any Biriyani of food wastage. They will serve the balance eaten biriyani of people to others people... You can eat others balance biriyani. This franchise misuse the brand of Thalapakkatti... Especially this branch should be renamed as medavakkam Beggers Biriyani.... Food safety departments doing great work...

Today is the day for the final World Cup cricket match between India and Australia. So need special food. Went to Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant. This is famous for special biryani. I had Veg biryani. And got parcel of Chicken 65 biryani, that is boneless. Taste is very good. Good ambiance. Not crowded as I visited at noon. A lot of parcel pickup people were waiting.

Ordered food from Dindugal Thalapakatti after a long time, must say they have gone down so much in quality. We ordered for kothu and chilli chicken and I was so disappointed with the taste and it did not even taste like chilli chicken. Very disappointed with the food.

I have ordered from this restaurant 100s of times ever since it opened, but the quality of the food has gone down drastically of late, especially after the emergence of COVID. I have stopped ordering from here because of this. The dining experience is even more pathetic. I hope they make some big changes and get things in order.

I ordered mutton biryani from this restaurant through swiggy and they charged ₹375. It is a small portion of rice and 2 tiny mutton pieces and I was shocked to see that. For this price it's unbearable and unacceptable. It was one hell of a experience and I won't order again. Konjam avathu seira thozhil ku viswasam ah irungada kaasu mattum vangitu yen da intha mathiri panringa. Note: Charged extra ₹10 for this boiled egg and it won't come with the biriyani.

Stay Away unless you are desperate!! We had dinner there today n upon entering we could sense that restaurant was empty which we should have taken it seriously. The food prices are exorbitant n doesn’t justify the taste, presentation, service n overall hygiene🤦‍♀️ My daughter’s milkshake was served with the last ice wrapper in the shake. When she spat out the waiter was nearby who saw n I handed over the plastic piece to him. No apology or anything but simply it was not charged. Will not be returning here again though once this was a very busy n bustling branch. So sad to see that the shifted n doesn’t care anymore. So I advise not to bother them either.

Purchased egg biriyani and kushka from this outlet, eggs were fully damged, too much oily and temperature of food is cold, not even warm, it seems they have packed post lunch for dinner takeaways, food was like rice solid cakes, not like biriyani which I get in other DT outlets, felt very bad experience in this specific outlet. Total bill is Rs.505, but worhless food

Worst service. Manager wantedly misinformed us when we asked about sitting in 1st floor dining, even though there were 3 to 4 tables free. AC was not switched on in the ground floor while we were having the food, after 20 minutes only they switched it on. It seems like they only care about online delivery. Please don't visit this place, unless you have 5 to 8 people with you to eat, 2 to 3 people and all they're treating like beggars as if we we are eating free food.

Great ambience, good food!!! Service could be better… boneless mutton briyani and chilli fish are must try.. price worthy and can come some other time for dinner or lunch. Tried add on combo with briyani gulab jamun and lemonade. Over all had a nice experience for a family dinner.?8😊😊😊

Mutton chops were not good. Only gravy, not enough pieces for the price, and not good, too. We went at 4 pm. There is no service upstairs during this time. Mutton biriyni was not there. Chicken biriyani and plain biriyani also were not hot and hence not tasty. Just OK type.

Food delivered without proper packing and completely spilled out. It was not acceptable and restaurant people not responded when called. Very bad experience.

I recently visited the Dindigul Thalappakatti Medavakkam branch on 04/06/2023 and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. I ordered 1 pack of mutton DRY, which cost me around 770/- rs. I repeated the order and requested it to be prepared for take-away. After waiting for 35 minutes, my order was finally ready. However, to my dismay, when I checked the food, it turned out to be completely different from what I had ordered. It was a grave mistake on the restaurant's part, and I approached the manager to address the issue. Instead of resolving the problem calmly, the manager began speaking loudly and shouting, making the situation even more unpleasant. All I wanted was a simple apology if they had made a mistake. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to take responsibility for their errors. I want to make it clear that I'm not seeking a replacement or a refund. All I expected was a sincere apology at that moment. A simple gesture like that could have resolved most of the problems and left a positive impression. As a customer, I believe it's essential for restaurants to value their patrons and provide excellent service. Sadly, my experience at the Dindigul Thalappakatti Medavakkam branch fell far short of my expectations. I hope that the management takes note of this incident and works towards improving their customer service and addressing issues promptly.

Today we have visited you guys, ordered mutton biryani, kuska, naan, kadai chicken. And pepper bbq, issues is Bbq was not hot and had too much salt literally double salted .. i asked the person who served us mentioning this has too much salt and its not hot.. i took it and went.. He Came back to us with same bbq which we returned. We didn't even had that bbq because it too salty.....

They food was tasting good but a very very delayed service and they didn't have much of varieties just around 9 PM. They are famous for biryani but even that was not available and for every dish there was a wait time of more than 20 mins.

Worst dining experience. We went to the restaurant by 1 Pm in the afternoon & ordered mutton biriyani, chicken biriyani. And whatever starters we asked were not available at first & at the last moment the starter was available. And it tasted like previous day's chicken. Totally waste of money. Now about biriyani, the worst seeragasamba biriyani even had. Very dry & it was the cold biriyani during peak hours. Someone qho wants to have a good food when you are starving this is not the right place. The most irritating thing was, we were not even given the water to drink. I had to ask 5 times with 3 different people to get 2 glasses of water. Worst service ever... Thalapakatti has lost its name nowadays. It is only running because of the old name. Even roadside food will be tasty comparatively.

Picked up two biriyani from DT, nothing to complaint about the taste. The traditional taste is well maintained but what surprised me was when I was charged 31 Rs for parcel. One cannot be so greedy to charge 31 rupees for a parcel of two biriyani. Even the biriyani is packed in paperboard packing and the two small plastic containers in which they serve raita and gravy... I need to seriously think about using their take away services from DT.

Worst service I ever had in the recent past in any restaurant. We were denied Biryani and forced to take some chicken fried rice. Later found to have Biryani...when asked we were told it just arrived. The order taker (Mr Sridhar) should have told us it would take some time for Biryani...this is like giving us all unsold items ...adding to all of this the supervisor never bothered to convince or apologize! We will make sure to never visit Talappakatti-Medavakkam again.

Best place for biriyani. Went on a weekend and heavy crowd due to which the staffs were struggling to serve people.

Ordered, Spl Mutton briyani, Chicken briyani and starter in fish. Food got served in less than 10 minutes. Food taste was good but need more softness in meat pieces. Shop ambience was good.
