One Temple in Chennai for 6 different located Temples of Tamilnadu, dedicatd to Lord Subramanya/Karthikeya/Muruga/Kandha/Vadidela/Kumaraswami/Arumuga, one God addressed with different names. Felt the divine experience. Lord Muruga slay demon brothers in a 6 days war, and gets victorious on Shasti, the 6th day after Diwali Amavasya. This is known as Soora Samharam. Dieties of 6 places of Tamilnadu namely Thiruchendur, Thiruthani, Thiruparankumdram, Palani, Palamuthircholai and Swamimalai are famous and ancient Temples for Lord Muruga are located in one Temple in Chennai. Visiting this one Temple equals Visiting the 6 Temples mentioned above.

Modern, peaceful Hindu temple complex featuring several shrines to the Tamil deity Murugan. This temple was built on the inspiration and instruction of Kanchi Paramacharya to CM MGR by MGR. All the six famous shrines of Lord Muruga in Tamilnadu can be found here. One such pilgrimage trip, which is less challenging, is the visit to the six shrines dedicated to Lord Muruga in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. These six abodes are called Aarupadai Veedu which in translation means the "six war houses of the Lord". ... Have a look at his six holy shrines and visit them.

Today I visited this temple. From Indira nagar it takes about 15mts to this temple. Located at Kalakshetra road, the end of this road and beginning of Thirumurugan street is where the temple is located. All 6 abodes of Lord Muruga in one premises. Starting with Thiruchendur Sri Murugar, you move to Pazhamudircholai, then follows swamy malai, Thiruparamkundram, Palani and Thirutheni. There is a separate shrine for Sri Ganapathy. I have visited 5 Arupadai veedu separately, seeing them under one premises with divine atmosphere will stay memorable in my mind. A must visit temple of Beasant nagar Chennai.

Excellent temple dedicated to lord Muruga. This temple has all the six abodes of lord Muruga such as thiruparankundram, thiruchendur, Palani, swami malai, thiruthani and pazhamudhircholai. It's very rare temple because we can worship all the six abodes at this temple. Main gopuram is facing the Besant Nagar beach side like thiruchendur. Maintenance of the temple is good. We can see separate sannithi for each form of lord Muruga. This temple is situated in a very calm place , and located nearby ashtalakshmi temple. Must visit temple in chennai

Tamil kadavul murugar temple. Name is Arupadai murugan temples. As the name states here we have 6 murugar statue and each murugar is place in each gopuram. One gopuram is special and it's designed like the vel shape. All the six murugar small temple is covered and in center they have the first god ganapathy. And near the gate we have navagragha statue too. This temple is located near to besant nagar beach . If we visit eliot's beach also known as besant nagar kindly visit this temple also. We also have famous astalakshmi temple also near by. Arupadiveedu murugar we can see in one single place. Each murugar is created similarly like the murugar present in six different locations. First visit vinayagar who is present at center of the temple. Then visit tiruparamkundram first padai veedu which ja located back of the vinayagar temple then tiruchendur and palani, then tiruthani murugar and swamymalai murugar and finally pazhamudir cholai murugar. Out of the six murugar swamymalai murugar is very big idol and have a big vel in front of him too.

A unique and nice experience. The temple surrounding itself is so good with many trees and the other side with the beach. This is one of the serene places in chennai. All 6 murugan sannidhi are separately placed . Not so crowded most days. You can see New York Ganapathy here. After ganapathy you will be worshipping 6murugan sannidhi and then Navagraha sannidhi. Visit during sunset so that you can enjoy the beach view also. I had mentioned the photos for the order of 6sannidhi to worship. And the history of this temple in another photo

Going to arupadai veedu murugan temple was an awesome experience. The temple was constructed in an excellent way near the coastal beach. The different form of murugan in each of the arupadai veedu has been sculpted in an excellent way and kept in a shape of tamil word "ஒ" Having ganapathy in centre. Have to walk a bit from besant beach to reach this place. If we can't walk that distance then we can take auto for comfortableness. Must try place.

I recently attended a friend's wedding at this temple, and I must say it left a positive impression. The temple exudes a calm and peaceful ambiance, amplified by its proximity to the beach. This combination of tranquility and natural beauty provides a unique and serene backdrop for any occasion. As a popular wedding venue in Chennai, it boasts multiple mandapams, each capable of hosting three to four weddings in a single day. This not only reflects its popularity but also speaks volumes about its organizational efficiency. Despite the bustling schedule, the temple grounds remained impeccably maintained and neat throughout. Overall, this temple serves as an excellent choice for hosting special events, offering a blend of spiritual tranquility and natural beauty that can enhance the significance of any occasion. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and serene setting for their celebrations.

One of the most beautifully maintained temples. Very peaceful and since it's near the shore with gentle breeze & sounds of the waves,it adds to the peacefulness. I recommend people to be silent to enjoy all this, but can't expect always with kids. So plan to visit when it's not crowded to enjoy this experience.

he Six Abodes of Murugan (Tamil: Āṟupaṭai vīṭu) are six temples situated in the state of Tamil Nadu in South India. The god is known by different names such as Kartikeya, Kanda, Vadivela and Muruga at various temples. The six most sacred abodes of Murugan was mentioned in Tamil sangam literature, "Thirumurugatrupadai", written by Nakkeerar and in "Thiruppugazh", written by Arunagirinathar. The six abodes are Palani, Thiruthani, Swamimalai, Pazhamudircholai, Thirupparankunram and Thiruchendur. One of the main traditions of the six temples, is the tonsuring of devotees, who vow to discard their hair in imitation of the Palani deity. Another is the anointing of the head of the presiding deity's idol with sandalwood paste, at night, prior to the temple being closed for the day. The paste, upon being allowed to stay overnight, is said to acquire medicinal properties, and is much sought after and distributed to devotees, as rakkāla chandaṇam.[8] Devotees carry kavadi, an ornamental mount decked with flowers, glazed paper and tinsel work and wearing ochre clothes themselves on foot from long distances is a commonly followed worship practic at besant nagar all simple to visit one place is there superp good The story of Lord Murugan is described in Skanda Purana. According to the legend, in the olden days the demon Soorapadman tortured the Devas, who went to complain to Lord Vishnu and Brahma. They assigned Kamadeva to awake Lord Shiva from his penance, who later gave birth to Kartikeya. Karthikeya killed Soorapadman and saved the devas. Muruga is depicted as the god of love and war. Kartikeya married Valli by love and married Deivayanai by winning the war held at Tiruchendur.[1] In Tamil literature five types of lands are explained. They are Kurinji (mountainous region), Mullai (forest region), Marutham (agricultural region), Neithal (coastal region) and Palai (desert region). Separate gods for these land types are clearly told in Sangam literature. According to the literature Lord Muruga is the god of mountainous region

We had gone on a Friday (Vinayagar Chathurthi 2021). Most of the temples were closed because of the covid restrictions. The temples are all closed on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We had initially planned to visit the Ashtalakshmi Kovil in Besant Nagar bit since it was closed, we asked around and came to know that the Arupadiyar temple situated very nearby was open. It was a very calm temple. On the sidelines of the temple was the beach. Even though you couldn't see the beach from the temple you could hear the sea singing beautifully. It had a vinayagar sannidhi. A few other saints and six different murugars from the six hills were also there. It was a visit with the family and it was worth the while. Kids enjoyed reading all the names of the different murugars and their locations.

Destination of God Muruga. Here you could see all the similar statue of Muruga from his 6 different places at one location. The temple is clean and well maintained. There will be rush most of the important days also during the evening regularly. One thing that you should know according to me is vehicle parking is on tour own risk since that is not proper there. Also the beach is very very close so one may thing of visiting to the beach so I would suggest to visit the temple then go to the beach. While going to the beach please wear footwear because there are thorns and other stuffs which could hurt anyone.
