Great statue situated beside of Marina beach. But always crowdy as the people here are huge and most of them eagerly clicking their pics. Everyone must see their art and sculpture. The artist depicts the national history of India and the time of Gandhi and all of other freedom fighters at that moment

Very nice place. Maintaining neat and clean. Good spot to relax with friends or family. Evening is the best time to visit here. Located in Marina beach seashore. Parking available for both two wheelers and four wheelers. It is clearly visible from main road. Near to this statue there are plenty of street food shops in the seashore. Overall this is one of the memorable place in Chennai.

It is one of the wonderful locations on the Marina Beach to spend the time relaxing. It is well located aside the three road junction along with the National Emblem pillar and Simpson's Clock in the middle of the road. Nearby it are some shops on the roadside and also a hotel which could help to dive hunger after spending time at the beach. Also there is a roller skating area nearby where people would practice roller skating and also done events are conducted occasionally. Evenings are the best times to spend here with the sunset and the snacks available in the beach.

Gandhi Beach is an extension of the world famous Marina Beach. However, it is more serene and clean. It is an urban sandy beach on the Bay of Bengal with some joy rides including horses for kids.

Such a lively place. It is always busy and full of life. However, it is an ideal place for all sorts of people. It's a vast area. So, there's always room for families, friends, couples, kids and even for fitness freaks. Early mornings and evenings are the best time to visit. Morning time for the view, evenings for nice street food and for the spectacular ambience.

The statue is fantastic and so is the Marina Beach just opposite. The beach is full of people and various things happening all around. People, couples, family, friends it is a perfect evening spending . The waves touching the feet and the wet sand and the cool evening breeze is something that a person can escape towards.

Mahatma Gandhi Statue on the Worlds Second Long Beach is an Iconic location. This place is well made and maintained. One can relax and joyfully spend the evening with the gentle beach breeze. There are controversies regarding the statue that it doesn't actually resemble the Mahatma Gandhi.

It's located in and around Marina Beach. Very crowded area in the weekends. Though you can always find people either locals or tourist here everyday and every time of the day. But as days are very hot here so recommended to visit in the evening to enjoy the sea and the breeze. Many food stalls available. Light house is just near which can be visited (particular time alloted). A nice place for clicking pictures. From kids to adults everyone can have a nice time here. After 11pm the area gets closed. You can bring car or bike. Parking area is available. Public restroom is also available.

This place is wonderful since it's located in the see shore, and has a long walk track of about 1.5km. It's worth to visit in the mornings and in the evenings. There's a skating track for children which is amazing to sit and watch, relaxing place. Many adults does yoga and breath practice in the mornings and evenings, obvious to get good health with these. Inspires us to be young active and energetic. A lot of snacks and street food stalls are located down the lane of walk track.

It's a beautiful beach place, a very nice and clean place among the beaches I have seen. People who don't like to get into water can just hangout in the beach and have varieties of local food right by the beach. Loved the place, good place to hangout with friends.

The bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the Marina Beach is regarded as one of the landmarks in Chennai located near Chennai light house. This black structure (statue), erected on a 12-ft-high pedestal. Mahatma Gandhi was one of the leader of the Indian Independence movement and was referred to as the ‘Father of the Nation’. He was one of the first leaders in the world to use Non-violence as the chief means to fight for justice. He discouraged violence in every form and led a very simple life, himself.Gandhi led nationwide campaigns for easing poverty, expanding women's rights, building religious and ethnic amity, ending untouchability, and above all for achieving swaraj or self-rule. Gandhi's birthday, 2 October, is commemorated in India as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, and worldwide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
