Well maintained multi purpose function hall inside Madras Race Club. There are many facilities under MRC, yet to explore other facilities like Sports activities, gymkhana club, swimming, bar, etc... Very spacious parking and secured environment for any gathering. Recently attended a function to celebrate 25years of HnS a corporate gathering. Wonderful organized one.

Has the old brit charm but only at certain spots of the club. Other wise the maintenance of this place is definitely not upto the mark. The " race course " Is just brilliant . The club is not so great .

I am a member for last 35 years, I used to enjoy going to this club with my parents during my younger days, the food was really good then. Today in the ground floor dinning room of Guindy Lodge, I was the lone diner, the food was very average, overpriced for a Club, a small glass of fresh lime with ginger & mint Rs.55/-, too much, will not cost more than Rs.10/- to make. Chilly chicken Rs.170/- + taxes, if the food prices are reasonable, you will have more members in using the dinning room.

Being a Member i enjoy a lot a facilities. Swimming pool is great and very minimum subscription. Shuttle court etc... Huge place in the middle of Chennai. Food is quite good and fair price. Halls can be booked at a very, very cheap rates is a wonderfull thing for being a Member. Well, i can take Guests..

Visited the race club for the Invitation Cup 2022. Good maintenance. Well organised. Food/drinks - Average.

A huge ground in the centre of city. Attended my colleague daughter's marriage. Hall is very spacious and large car parking over there. This is the second function I have attended in Madras race club. The main highlight of the reception is Mr. Britto producer of Master movie attended this function. That is the highlight of this wedding reception.

Excellent Guindy Lodge, nice food and beverages at cafe. Nice club house for functions. I attended a program here. Of course the legendary racetrack. Racing became irregular and almost stopped soon after it had begun in the 1770s. This was a result of Hyder Ali, who came within striking distance of Madras. A few years later, 35 cawnies were added and two race courses came up — a smaller one to train horses and the other with a stand to watch the races. The club functioned till 1875, when the Prince of Wales Edward VII visited Madras. Racing again went through a tough phase and finally in 1887, the Club was revived. A balance of 11 rupees, 13 annas and 12 paise was carried forward to a new club called Madras Race Club with 50 members. “This is the oldest race course in the country and we completed 200 years recently,” says B.K. Amanullah Khan, secretary, Madras Race Club.

The sprawling Race course club has a nice Banquet hall which is spacious and Air-conditioned. Can accommodate 100 or more person for get togather and Banquet. The Banquet hall is in the second gate from main gate entrance and opposite Carpark entry. Had a reunion meeting in this place. One should be a Club member and influenced person to book this place.

Beautiful experience with Annamalai univercity college mates s Reunion meets at MRC after 40 years(1977 to 1982 badge) memorable day in my life.

A decent place but access given only for club membership holders. They served a customised dinner menu for 30 of us with both Veg & Non veg options including desert & liquor. Compared to other Elite clubs,RC seems to be a good option to chill on a Saturday evening. Please be mindful that they have a dress code and only collared shirts are allowed for men, if not they ask you to pay 270rs to get a shirt. Overall a great experience being. Can focus on some improvement in the clean restroom & some music arrangements.

An absolute adrenaline experience to witness horse racing at India's oldest and first turf. The ambience, experience, and sport is something special.

I was there at night time for my friend's marriage ceremony. I really liked the open area atmosphere for the marriage during night time . It was really awesome. But I feel there is some mainataince required as I witnessed multiple power outage during wedding. Washrooms are good and well maintained.

This evening was at the Madras Race Club Lodge with a friend to watch the India Vs Pakistan match & have dinner. What an amazing place, in the middle of the bustling city, yet nestled in a quite ambience, outdoor humidity & breezeless weather did not dampen the spirit of the game, the food was out of the world, every item ordered arrived in the quantity you need & suitable for the palate, sinfully delicious ! Only suggestion would be to hasten the service as the waiting period was unnecessarily long, ( could be that the food was too very tasty that the service appeared slow while waiting for the next dish! ) The icing on the cake was the items were extremely easy on the wallet Easy parking was yet another reason to love the place In short, it was “ an evening to remember “ I am definitely visiting this place again !

This is old heritage club in heart of Chennai, situated next to the Horse racing track. This club has 3 restaurants but serves the same food. If the weather is fine, then having food in the lawn is a nice experience. Surprisingly the family restaurant in the ground floor has a simple interiors and it definitely requires a coat of paint! The restaurant in the first floor has a bar attached and has slightly a better ambience. The service is quite Ok.

The hall was : 1. In ambience: Well kept in aroma. 2. In Space : good moving space and neat chairs 3. Service : Neat and clean. On time. 4. Parking : abundant and easily to drive out 5. Podium : Right height and space to the gathering.

My friend is a stand member hence I tagged along with him for dinner as the food at these old clubs is tasty at very reasonable prices. That is what I got. Delicious food like the Tomato soup prawn 65 Seer Fish fry and curry all in South Indian style. The service is quick. Restaurant is clean and the prices are very reasonable as sea food is generally expensive in my city.

I had my Babies' Birthday celebrations this month in the Banquet Hall at the MRC. It was a great and heartening experience right from the day 1 of engagement. Mr Anand the Event manager of MRC, is such a kind and courteous person who provides a wonderful service with awesome suggestions and prompt coordination. He walks miles ahead to provide us the best suggestions and always available to avoid any chaos. During our party, I have even seen him doing ground works to help his colleagues which is quite rare and just shows his humility. The arrangements were prompt and the buffet's taste-quality were mind blowing. The people who served were so professional and self-managed. They served the food with utmost love that one would really love to eat more and this quality is very rare for Buffet seving staffs. Overall a wonderful experience 😊

Love this place. A fav ever since childhood when we used to meet the trainers and feed the horses. Now with the club facilities being made super duper am glad to visit the place every chance I get. The food is awesome and the staff are very courteous. If you get a chance to go pls try the food there and the stay is fabulous too.

An ideal place to spend an evening either with family or friends. You have choice of locations. You can sit in the open air lush lawns or the adjacent corridors or the air-conditioned indoor restaurant. You can meet indoors in pvt rooms or halls depending on the nos. A good place to conduct club meeting for members upto 70/100 with your own choice buffet.

Madras Race Club is one of the well maintained convention/birthday centers in the heart of Chennai. This provides good food, decent service and it has spacious lawns for birthdays and wedding receptions. This also has got a spacious parking area. Keep up the good service.
