It is very huge lake with a fantastic view. It has a long walk way around the lake - 1.5 to 2 kms. Recently it was developed. Nature lovers and birds lover would enjoy the view😊 Great for walking. Not much people around this area are aware of this place. To reach this place come via nookampalayam road from advent church and take right near sangeetha studio.

I had recently been here for weekend fishing trip to this place with my friends. As I am no expert in Angling, I was there just for the fun of it, but my friends who are quite good at Angling, despite owning quality equipments were never able to do any better. Locals told us, people never manage to catch fish with lines here. If you are planning to go there, take your supplies with you, as there are no shops around, and choose a interior spot, as the place is quite dirty, if you know what I mean! You can't take car to this place, bike is advisable. Happy fishing guys, if you get lucky 😁

One of the water resources for perumbakkam, it fed all the paddy fields few years ago.. But all fields turned into apartments now. Uploaded few pics of recent water overflow. North side of lake would be vengaivasal village Mambakkam main road.. At south side indira nagar and nookampalayam area of perumbakkam village. At west we have kaaleeshwari refinery company on mambakkam main road. East is nookampalayam main road of perumbakkam village.

Expansive lake connecting OMR and Medavakkam. Walkways,picnic benches can be added for bird watchers. Fine mist be imposed for those relieving in lake.

Great Birding spot. Saw one of my favorite birds the Northern Pintail in Jan 2020. Apart from that we also saw Painted Stork,Spot billed Pelican,Grey Breasted Prinia,Two types of Egrets,the Northern Shoveler,The Red Wattled Lapwing among others Flamingoes were also present this year. If more maintained this will be a birding hotspot for sure

The Perumbakkam lake spreads over 200 acres (0.81 km2) and is a vital source of water to residents and farmers in Perumbakkam, Vengaivaasal and Sithalapakkam village(s). Nearly 100 families raise vegetables and other crops whenever water is available in the lake. The Vengaivasal Panchayat limit covers villages which bear no semblance to what they once were. The approach to this area, which is home to the Vengaivasal-Perumbakkam lake, is filled with advertisements for plots of land or apartments. Of late, the Vengaivasal Panchayat and a host of local small industrial and production units have begun dumping municipal waste in a plot of land very close to the lake.

Good place to get some fresh air but everytime they do some roadworks but does not maintain the lake.If it's well maintained its one of the beautiful lake and many birds would visit.Best place in city for photography professional to have a unique kind of birda
