Have been to Madras many times and this was the first time I have stayed in this lovely area, Good hotel 'India Gate' good selection of nearby restaurants and a beautiful walk into Chennai ECR a not so crowded beach.Plenty of transport avaliable and good access to the local beachs. A good family spot and also a great Sunrise view point.

1) one can reach this beach from sholinganallur in both private and public transport ( costs Rs.30 from sholinganallur in share auto) 2) It's quite well maintained beach ⛱️ so clean , didn't find any plastic garbages thrown here and there 💯🌳 3) The Sunrise 🌅 here is the best view if ur planning morning, but we went by noon around 3 pm waited for sunset 🌇 but didn't get a great view as it's on the opposite side of the beach. 4) Food stalls and games are there to pass your time Overall it's a clean , calm and we'll maintained ⛱️ beach. Without any doubt you can hang here with friends and family 💖 for almost 3-4 hours 🌳🌳🌳. Happy beach day folks 😜🤙!

This beach is good in terms of sunset only. Cloudy and scenic sunset can be enjoyed. Parking is not that good but manageable.

Less crowd and we can have good time pass with roaring waves...It's looking neat and clean...Best thing here is we have only one mobile chat shop is here and no non veg (See Ffoods) so it's odour less sea...we can enjoy with kids... Ecr beach is a good place to visit with family, just remember you should go after 3pm in evening for more enjoyment and fun, food sold over here is expensive so carry some snacks with you. Avoid throwing the garbage or any kind of plastic items near the shore instead make sure you throw it in dustbins outside

Beautiful morning we found lot of habitats covering sea crabs, ants, jellyfish, etc. Worth the experience to come down before sun rise to see the dawn. The sun is beautiful with the sea and surfing. We had an event to attend to see the marine life, worth it.

It was so smelly, u can't be there more than 10mins. And also people can't go into the beach because of the smell and colour of the water.

A nice lonely beach perfect for couples and depressed people

There are no lights at the beach. Can't see anything at night. It's not crowded, very few people come to this beach. If people want loneliness, they can come here and sit here for hours in between the crabs which come out from sand.

We stayed at The Blue House (which we enjoyed for a 3 day stay) and this place was on ECR beach! Had a great experience here And the sea breeze here is awesome experience. If you are commuting to this place just for a visit to the beach, it's as good or as bad as Elliot's beach minus vendors and much less crowded!

ECR or East Coast Road is famous for it's never ending beaches along the coast and serene views. You'll find a lot of new restaurants and star hotels along the way upto Mahabalipuram. Take bike ride early morning or evening to enjoy the cool breeze otherwise it's hot during day time.

Peaceful place to spend time for family walk, morning yoga, fun with friends. Sometimes we can also buy fresh fish at early morning. I always prefer early morning visit rather than evening. Main disappointed is that, there is no shop opened at morning and only 2 or 3 opened at eve.. That's also local ice cream, Bajjis and corn. I prefer to bring drinking water and not buy anything at beach or nearby.

The weather we experienced and the beach were good together. It was peaceful and less crowded. These kind of beaches are distinct from Marina where there used to be a lot of crowd due to vastly large space and well known landmarks close by. These seem to be present between streets in ECR and are comparatively neat. Some flower bearing sea sand dwellers add more greenery to the locality and the place looks beautiful. May spot some ships sailing at a distance.
