Beautiful beaches.. but waves are too rough to be careful .. try to prevent bath or other water activities on the beach .. if you don't know how to swim please avoid direct contact with the sea....

Mahabalipuram beach is one if the nicest beach in Tamilnadu. It is situated by the Bay of Bengal. It is also known as Mahabalipuram Beach. It is a wonderful place surrounded by the shimmering sea and hills. The beach is a long beach. The main attraction near the beach is the sea shore temple. This temple is made by rock-cut sculptures which are very acutely prepared. This beach is a perfect place to relax. You can see the sunset from the beach. You can take a cab from Chennai to reach there.

The beach is nice, I visited it during new year's eve and the pilgrimage season was on, resulting in a huge crowd all around. The market nearby is pretty good for the souvenirs.

A great place for a historical visit.,the one who loves the ancient architecture can add this place in their travel list, there are many places to visit nearby *Krishna's butter ball *Five rathas *Shore temple *Light house *Beach etc The sculptures are beautifully carved on granite stones, you can find animals(lion, elephant, monkey),birds(peacock),god(Ganesh,Shiva, thiruvalluvar)etc..carved out of stones.at the local you can buy some sculptures etc.. shore temple has a beautiful structure with nandi on the sides..has a great walk way with green grass, and from the light house you can view the whole city from the top but you have to visit it before 4.30 at it closes soon.young and adults can easily climb but elderly people please climb with some support or please skip as the steps are so narrow.at last you can visit the beach and relax and travel back to your home/resort/villa.they have a great parking place for small and big vehicles...at the beach you can play games have a horse ride buy shell products from the local markets.

Better but not ok because cleanliness is bad . The temple is too good and the buggy service is also good only on selective timings.please take the tickets through scan because you will get 5rs less per head. 35 rs in scanning 40 rs in counter per head.

Mahabalipuram Beach is one of good beaches for spending weekends and enjoy with your friends and family. It is such an amazing beach. Shore Temple is located near the beach, it is a world heritage site. Very beautiful and old temple. It is a very long beach. Cleanliness is good. Some places of the beach rocks are available, so be careful while playing in the water. Here the sunrise is amazing. So many shops are available near to this beach. Sea-food is nice here.

Mahabalipuram Beach situated on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal in UNESCO World Heritage site Mahabalipuram (not recommended to visit in summer). Beach is near the Shore Temple. So Shore Temple and the beach you can plan in the evening. Many stalls are there on your way to the beach. You can buy snacks, sea foods, toys, bags, shell products, idols, stone carved sculptures etc. Also you have horse ride and sunbathing in the beach. The beach is not good for swimming because f large waves. The crowd will be more on weekends and holidays (best to visit on weekdays as it will be less crowded). Carry sunglasses, caps/umbrella and water bottles while visiting Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram bus stand is very nearby. Private paid parking also available. Preferred Timing: Morning or after 5pm Nearby Attractions (all these places are nearby and can be covered by walk itself): Krishna Mandapam, Descent of Ganges, Krishna's Butter Ball, Varaha temple, Ganesh Ratha, Arjunaโ€™s penance, Rayar Gopuram, Light house (fee Rs 10), Shore temple and Pancha Rathas.

The place is an symbol of history and culture. This place consist of a temple having many cow statues surrounded it, and the visiting hours to this place according to me is evening time, as there is a beach attached to it you can enjoy on beach side which is a bit dirty for a while but okay can enjoy with the see side. I want to give a tip is to visit the temple take pics enjoy then after that visit the sea side and beach

A very quiet beach, mostly serving the resorts along it. However, they are hidden inland slightly, so the beach seems and feels nearly empty! At lower tide, one can run a number of miles along the packed sand, but the beach features a significant slope so beware if you have sensitive knees or don't like running of somewhat softer sand. There appear to be few, if any, facilities along this beach if you're not staying at one of the resorts. I RECOMMEND YOU TO HAVE FOOD IN ANY OF THE RESTAURANTS OR DABHAS ALONG THE HIGHWAY BEFORE REACHING MAHABALIPURAM BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT SO GREAT DINING OPTIONS AVAILABLE HERE.

Also known as Mamallapuram by locals, Mahabalipuram Beach is 58 km from Chennai city in Tamil Nadu. The beach lies on the shore of the Bay of Bengal and comprises some rock-cut sculptures. ย The scintillating beach has golden sand all along the stretch and is also famous for caves, massive rathas, chariots and temples. The surfers and swimming lovers are bound to have an amazing time at the beach. In my opinion this beach is best for spending weekends and enjoy with your friends and family. If you visit mahabalipuram then visit this beach. Such a amazing beach. So many shops are available near to this beach.

The beach looks small because of all the shops surrounded by the beach but the beach is awesome for spending time with family and friends and rock spots in the beach are best for clicking pictures. The view from the rocks gives a cool and pleasant Breeze. There are many shops for shopping like hand bags, earrings and many more for low cost girls will love it.

One of the most important temple sites in India overlooking the beach. The beach has a mix of rocky and sandy shores, it is not very clean but the shore temple makes it distinguished

๐Ÿ”…It's a very good sandy beachโ›ฑ๏ธ and a nice family out spot. ๐Ÿ”…Near the shore temple๐Ÿ›• there were many rocks to avoid the submergence of the temple. ๐Ÿ”…Most of the people had a belief that 6 more shore temple (like the one present now)were submerged due to rise in the sea level. ๐Ÿ”…Many shops are available in the shore. ๐Ÿ”…Horse rides along the beach attracts more tourist people and many children based rides too. ๐Ÿ”…It's also nice to watch sunrise ๐ŸŒ„ here.

It's a very good beach. It will be very serene if you visit in the early mornings on weekdays. There is a temple on the shore which is also a must visit. Try to speak with locals to know more about the temples that are submerged in the sea. There are so many shops to eat, buy things and some activities also to do.

"Majestic and serene, Mahabalipuram Beach is a coastal gem that captivates with its tranquil ambiance and scenic beauty. The golden sands, backed by swaying palm trees, offer the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you're taking a leisurely stroll along the shore, indulging in water sports, or simply basking in the sunset hues painting the sky, every moment at Mahabalipuram Beach is a delightful escape. With its historical monuments nearby adding to the charm, this beach is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike."

Very convenient ruins. T temples, Butter Ball, Sea coast temple etc are there. When I visited, 2004 Tsunami removed sands of beach and found Temples. Even in the sea, there are several temples are there. 5 temples (Panch ata) are made by one rock.

The primary beach at Mahabalipuram and near the famous shore temple, this beach is a short, sandy walk from the parking which is cramped at best. The path is lined with vendors selling the usual touristy stuff including shells, idols and stone carved diyas and ither memorabilia. The beach itself, though beautiful is not very clean and needs maintenance.

A lot has already been written and reviewed about this beach, so i will add another angle to it. The beach is really beautiful and the water is very clean. However beware!!!! The beach gets really very very crowded on weekends and holidays and also during the peak winter season. Its best to avoid on these days. So crowded that you may have to park your car about 2 kms away from the beach and walk all the way. The shops Enroute the beach walkway make the path even more congested and littered. Its just like a Kumbh mela ( on ganga ghat). A bike may be your saviour. To experience the same beach you can park on the ECR a few kms before Mahabalipuram and have fun. The ancient temple is just next to the beach but has a paid entry (40 Rs per person) and a different gate as well. You cannot enter from the beach.

Nice beach but overly crowded on holidays. Local authorities can do better to keep the beach clean and enforce cleanliness. Path leading to the beach from shore temple entrance is full of shops... I did not find anything worth buying as a momento. The place is of historical importance. The shore temple is a structural monument type which means the rocks are carved out and placed one over the other to form the whole cstructure. The place is small and just near by you have Krishnaโ€™s butterball which is majic of nature itself..

Best place to visit for all the peace mind or to relax and to enjoy ๐Ÿ˜Š because you have temple, beach, food, shopping and places to visit like light house, temple architecture, museum and many more. Most important for now the temple is closed for some days as there are doing some work.

Good beach to chill. Earlier the waves are little far from the shore allowing people to walk through the black stone heap. Now the sea has come little forward. The beauty of shore temple can also be seen from behind.

Clean beach and peaceful environment. Good place to have some fun with your friends and family. Many shops were nearby as well to have some snacks and buy some things for home.

This would be our culture. India's precious rock statues work was an awesome one. The location was good. Ambiance maintenance is not bad but we have to improve much better. It's a tourist spot now where people dominate in the price whichever shop we go to buy something like snakes items, memory gift items etc, Tourist people should be asked the price before buying any kind of products.

Good beach. Lots of tourists and shops will be there. Have a visit once. There will be two sides. Left side of shore temple, people will surf and right side it's ordinary beach

The best beach to spend time on and there are many restaurants around which are very costly for the quantity they provide, if you go 800meters you can find the city restaurant selling for valuable price.
