Had read about this place in few blogs and also seen a couple of videos on YouTube. So with lot of curiousity decided to check out the place myself with roomies on 1 perfect night. The place was crowded with customers as usual. There were people coming on cycles bikes and even posh cars to have a lip smacking tasting of Moru Thatha's buttermilk. A cup of buttermilk costs 30/- and is indeed worth it. Its served with boondi in equal proportion which gives it an tasty tantalising taste..The Badam Milk which was available didnt live upto the hype and was a let down... Overall A must try spot for those who are at Chennai and have never been here... ✌️✌️

I have been to Moor Thatha like many time in these last 5 years. The taste of moor that you get here is the best 5 years back. Now the tastes was little less and price also hiked. Moor at midnight is kinda weird but we love to do it whenever we go to Thiruvanmiyur. Some times it a worth to go to Thiruvanmiyur RTO beach just to grab two cup of Moor(Butter Milk).

Amazing taste and an amazing experience to drive from Kolathur. We drove almost for an hour to have this amazing buttermilk. We tried with boondhi and without boondhi. Awesome they were. Having buttermilk in the moonlight in the beach was a different experience.

Moru my favourite moru thatha shop taste is amazing

I used to have Butter Milk from him very often. Now I have shifted my stay to another area. So having butter milk from him very rarely nowadays. I really miss his buttermilk. He is the only guy who sells the delicious buttermilk with Kaara Boondhi in Chennai. Till now he is maintaining the same delicious buttermilk taste in Chennai.

The famous "Mor Thatha" in Thiruvanmiyur/RTO beach. He is famous for his Chilled buttermilk with raw mango and some savouries (Kaara Bhoondi). More than the buttermilk the place and time he sells is something you can enjoy. One glass of buttermilk - 50rs ( I felt it to be very very costly👀) but you can experience it once. Didn’t find any Thatha. But there was a thallu vandi guy at the exact location selling the same boondi and maanga ‘more’; they might be related. Priced at ₹50, the buttermilk was mildly spiced and the boondi and manga gave it a nice crunch too. I loved it!

The time when we had butter milk, it was expired and almost tasteless Other chats are good in tiruvanmiur beach and if you really want to try, could see so many other butter milk shops available and you should have there... I knew him before since he was famous. Earlier he was just like every other merchant who comes and asks everyone to try his buttermilk and milk. Not many cared to taste it. We used to drink it then, when he charged only ₹20 for 1 buttermilk. Luckiest guy, where social media just boomed his life. Yes, his milk and buttermilk is one of best(s) but I would say the quality which he is making now is not as good as he was making earlier. Just go and try it once. It’s worth trying it at that time(midnight).
