Nice place to have some good vegetarian food. Place is clean and food is tasty. Some of it's famous dishes are, Appam, Ghee masala Dosa, Chilly parotha. They only concern to me is, all these good eateries, started diluting the traditional concept of serving regional food, but customising and serving other states food along with.

Went there to have dinner. Had paneer masala dosa and Chilly porotta from there. They need to improve the hand wash area, it was not clean and the tap was merely working.

I had dinner from this restaurant. The restaurant is near the railway station. Good interiors and beautiful place. There was seats available. It was not crowded. Ordered masala dosa 85 ₹ and filtered coffee 40₹. Food was good but i feel its pricy. Freshly made curry. The location of the restaurant is near the railway station, that mat be te reason for the high price. Efficient service. May visit again.

I visited this restaurant with my family today while traveling back to Chennai. This is the first time experience with this branch of NVVB and it was good as well. This place was neatly maintained and the environment was good as well. We went for breakfast and the taste of the food was good as expected even though the quantity was less for the price charged. Mini tiffin and dosa items were good. The coffee tasted good as well. Overall the experience was good and anyone who is traveling via Egmore railway station can definitely try this place.

This is where u find authentic South Indian foods... I had tried vasantha bhavan in diff places... Even in Dubai... I enjoyed special signature in all the places... The rava dosa was amazing... After a long time i had a perfect rava dosa... I must say the coffee was exceptional.... 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 U can try the mini tiffen too... Must try place...

Very neat and tidy place to eat in the whole neighborhood. As it's just infront of the railway station, it is easily accessible for travellers who are in a rush. I recommend to have the masala dosa from this place. Make sure to ask for the Vada as it's have a crispy outer layer and fluffy inside. The customer service is up the top. You can also avail a clean washroom facility as it's hard to get such a place in the neighborhood.

This is one of the authentic south indian restaurants I have been. They have maintained the taste of south indian food typically as it is and i love this. The taste of the sambar dal is too good. Must visit.

Not recommended. Taste is same as "BHAVAN" hotels taste, not more than you can expect here. Cleanliness is also not upto the mark, but it's ok. Water is not clean. Biggest drawback is restroom, men and women are pushed to use same and that too they have only one Western Closet, that's not at all recommended for family diners. Quick service is good, but the cleaners will push you out from chair. It's unlimited meals but strictly no extra one spoon of payasam or even half broke appalam, tiny little more mulagai and Waiters won't hear hear, even you scream, they won't respond. Just take a few steps in adjacent road you can find best restaurants than this and you will be treated as customer. Totally it's only for floating population who visits Chennai once that too who travels till Egmore. Not worthy for the money you spend.

It is okay to eat here if you're really hungry or waiting for your next train at Egmore. But it's not the place one specifically travels for to eat. Hotel Palmgrove and Welcome restaurant are at a different standard. I'd say eat at Hot Chips, just 10 meters away. They are way better in terms of taste. But don't get me wrong. It's a very decent place with good interiors and ambience. Food is very hygienic and the service is quick. Taste is the only thing missing. But it's a perfect place for people on a strict diet / restricted diet.(low spice, hospital canteen like food). We had Idly, medu Vada, masala dosa and plain dosa. All decent. Hospital canteen food is its perfect description. I doubt anybody is craving that. 😁

Had a slightly underwhelming visit for lunch. Ordered sambhar rice, meals and mushroom noodles for the kids. Meals was OK. Sambar and the curries were good. Vathakuzhambu was not that great but rask and curd were good. Side dishes were also good. Sambhar rice had too much of some spice and wasn't enjoyable. Noodles had no taste. Had to add salt and pepper to make it even palatable.

Located just opposite to Chennai Egmore railway station, it is quite popular with a lot of footfalls. The location ensures that the hotel is always almost full However the food is not as good as it once used to be. The service was good and prompt, but the food was cold and not as good as it used to be... The cost has also increased disproportionately to the quantity and quality of the food...

Opposite to Egmore railway station and is really clean and neat. Service was prompt and food taste was as well nice. Only thing that I didn’t like was mango milkshake which they prepared with ice cream even during the mango season. Ghee Pongal was nice.

Worst. Guys,trust me I am posting this review right from the restaurant. I just had Chappati and I regret ordering it. Every night I eat Chappati from a local shop 10 rs per piece which is great in taste. Having restaurant in this prime location and providing worst quality which I didn't expected. I would have avoided when there is no one inside. Even after complaining about the quality they didn't seem to give a damn. 30 rs per piece which is not not even compared to my neighborhood shop.

Came to chennai after 15 years and first in the morning i thought of having pongal vada at any Bhavans. I found this near to me. Taste is as usual. No complaints. 5/5 is my rating. Service is good and atmosphere also good.

The feel of homely food. No or less flavouring additives which I felt very safe to eat. Reasonable quantity w.r.t the cost. Service was awesome. The kind woman Mrs Sasikala served the food in a very kind and appealing way. Usually in hotels colors, flavour enhancers and oil ll be more. But here I felt the food very tasty and was really homely too. Keep up the work always. Happy to dine in.

I tried Butter masala dosa @cost 120rs I tried medu vada too @45, vada is small but the price is high , dosa is good , the packing is superb , taste wise is ok not super we can try one time ,I tried some many popular hotel compare that need to improve the quality.

Worst food. Ordered 5 special meals. The food taste is not good. Even rice podi is total waste. Then order kadai paneer and it taste sour and asked for replacement, and replaced the same with new dish, even that too tasted sour, and finally we returned the dish. But honestly speaking the service is good and waiters are friendly. Such a big chain of restaurants is serving food without taste made me disappointed. They are changing ₹250 for a meal and not maintaining the quality of the food and taste is not good. We went as a family of 6 and got disappointed.

Had a short break at this restaurant to have dinner on my return from All India Radio by bus no. 27D, as the bus stopped right at the entrance of this hotel located on Gandhi-Irwin Road in front of Egmore Railway Station. A table was available for two people at this restaurant at around 8.15 pm in the evening. Consumed a plate of podi idli which had two numbers, but it was more on the spicier side. Then had a plate of plain Rava Dosa which was tasty. There are 4 Vasanta Bhavans on this road near Egmore Railway Station, but this appears to be the original one to me. This would be the appropriate place to have your food before/after travel to/from Egmore Railway Station, since it is close to the bus stop and Railway Station at Egmore.

Done lunch here during my visit in Chennai. Food was super. Me and my husband actually were looking for authentic South Indian food and found this restaurant just opposite to the Chennai Egmore Railway Station. Starting with food: I entered Vasantha bhavan hoping for a good breakfast and ordered a Ghee roast. I was expecting an authentic Ghee roast for the price they charge. But to my surprise I received a pathetic dosa with minimal level of ghee in it. I was heavily disappointed. It's not only me, my neighbouring table was occupied by a North Indian family after having Vada and sambar they had rasamalai and expressed their disliking within their table. Has Vasanta bhavan lost its standards ? Speaking of service it's way worse than food. The waiter was very unprofessional and used a lot of foul language when he went into the kitchen to collect food. The food itself was average, but I would not recommend this hotel based on the waiter's behavior. 👎🏼👎🏼

Went for breakfast at this joint in Egmore , opposite the Railway Station. Dirty and uncleaned floors and tables welcome the guests . There was only one waiter to cater to about Ten guests . The management should have in mind that the guests have a train to connect and cannot have food leisurely . The breakfast was much below standard , wasn't even warm . Sambar was awful and Vada was burnt . Prices are expensive for the standard of food served . Do not go unless you don't have any other choice .

We friends went for a casual lunch today, when we reach the hotel its nearly 11.30pm, 1. we asked at the front the receptionist that is mini tiffin available right now, he said yes and rushed us to get inside. It was awkward at first. and 2. when we ordered 3 fried rice we were so hungry, but it came very late. That's totally iritatable. 3. And when I pour the tomato ketchup, i found there is a alive worm running in my plate. I felt totally disgusting and my friends was also felt the same. We can't continue eating there. 4. Ultimate thing was the waiter or anyone else wasn't even felt sorry. He took the ketchup fastly and moved on to another table without a word. 5. Waste of time, money and had unpleasant experience. I totally regret coming to this restaurant. Food quality is not up to the mark.

Location is a plus ( near egmore railway station ) worth a try for veggies ....ordered meals - mixed feelings : some items sambar ,Kara kolumbu , chapati and kootu were good but rasam was watery ,veg mixed poriyal was bland and the sweet was also insipid to taste ...rates are not commensurate with the taste ....

We are from Maharashtra and it was our first trip to TN . The taste wad totally opposite ,we were craving for food that would taste similar to maharastrian food .luckily yesterday we went to this place and the food was so good that we even took parcels .Though the service is very slow thr but the food that they provide is very tasty (worth waiting ) . It is just in front of egmor statn so whoever visit chennai from maharashtra must visit here ,bz the food is just the one tht our tummy loves .
