went with lot of expectations. Too crowded and noisy. They can restrict the guests, so guests can enjoy the stay. Starters were good, but not the main course. They can improve upon the quality and taste. Real patti's taste is missing. A bit costly. Has valet car parking. Service is excellent.

This restaurant is set up in the middle of a residential area. Looks like they have renovated an old house to a restaurant. Ambience is so good. Service is exceptional. Food wise, the taste felt like home made and its delicious. Definitely worth taking elderly people. During weekdays it’s only 4 course meals.

In the heart of T nagar lies this chettinad style old house now converted into a restaurant. The food served here was very authentic. They have a fixed menu - 3 different menus (all veg) are available depending on the no of courses you are willing to eat. The spread had the right portion size for the most part, for some of the main course items you can ask for seconds so you ll never leave empty stomach. I highly recommend trying this place at least once hopefully with your family

Amma and I took 10 of our closest relatives to Paati Veedu last Sunday for lunch and had the most pleasant experience ever. Most of the relatives were elders with bad knees and/or walking with cane and needed assistance which was graciously provided as we were accompanied to our seats. The food was so good and along with traditional ambiance and decor, the great personal service we got from all the staff members were the icing on the cake. The chef personally came to our table to enquire about all the dishes. The quantity of food we each got for all courses were in itself filling but with the food being so tasty we each asked for more of the dishes as we just wanted to just eat more of it! This is for sure a regular place I will continue to eat at every visit I make and will be sharing our dining experiences with our family and friends! Great job Team Paati Veedu!!!

This is a must visit restaurant in Chennai. Had an amazing experience with great food, nice ambience and friendly staff. Menu consisted of 7 course lunch served in bite sized portions and beautifully laid out to bring out the essence of a traditional South Indian meal. Expect hard to find items freshly prepared and presented with great care. The friendly staff explain the preparation and stand by to answer any questions. Overall highly recommend this place.

An absolute culinary delight. More than the food its a quality of service. I am grateful for everyone to make an effort to take care of my parents. Thank you. The arugampul juice, the kacha fry, the veppambu rasam, everyone was showing the level and quality of culinary delight. The owner who I have seen was more than down to earth and asked - should I bring seat to take care of dad. I remember the saying that it is never about the food, but the stories and experiences our patti say by showing the "moon" that makes the kid remember the food. What you did to me on that day, the saturday lunch is exactly that. except I was the son and my parents were shown the moon by everyone of you... with the level of impeccable service and quality of food. I beg of you.... where vegetarian doesn't seem to be a choice .... what you have done is "remarkable".... so keep it up ...for generations to come. Thank you....

While I had left only a 1 star rating without elaborating why I left that rating, your unnecessary rant on professionalism, which you obviously lack, elicits the response below: For a fine dining restaurant that prices itself at a premium, having dined and worked for you through the tough times of a pandemic, the only courtesy you display is not paying us for 6 months of work, cheat and connive, then beat around the bush about "culture and tradition". Surprised that you find anything further to lower yourself with :) People who do have decent cultural and traditional values instilled in them behave with grace. Your actions prove your lack of anything graceful. A free advise on branding. Great brands are built with honesty, integrity, and dedication. Not by buying followers or by acquiring reviews through eyewash. Wish you the very best in your value system. If possible, use the money you saved by not paying us, to feed a few starving people.

We had a nice family time with a traditional seven course meal (Poornabhakshana). The staff were very friendly and the service headed by Mr. Ram was prompt and warm. I personally loved the bite-sized portion concept, which reduces food wastage and you can always ask more if you like something! Food, ambience and the service justified the name 'Paati Veedu'.

What is the point of charging 1200inr per head for the most boring kichdi , upma, idiyappam that too with no taste at all. Atleast I'm glad that I didn't spend money for this, it was our colleague's birthday treat. I felt the dialogue, " ithuku aaya sutta dosaye nalla irunthuchu". Sorry for showing so much hatred for this place but this is what I felt.

Lovely experience! Quite unlike anything else we’ve tried. The GRO Ramachandran made our dinner enjoyable - humoring our requests. Will definitely recommend the restaurant as a MUST-TRY. We picked the 5 course meal on Monday Nov 20, 2023 and I loved the nellika soup. The karipatti halwa was out-of-this-world! Make it a memorable occasion and celebrate with your loved ones. It’s pricey - about 1000 Rs per person. Well worth it!

Delicious food and beautiful ambiance! Staff is very well informed about every item that's on the menu. Each accompaniment that is served with every dish was explained well. The servers' demeanor is what is talked most about Michelin star restaurants, you can't see them around but the moment you lift your head wanting something, they're just there. More praises for their training than everything else!

Had a private function here for a friend's wedding. The food was good tasting, clean tasting (not too greasy) and was well presented. Service was good as well, and the balcony was a/c, which served us very well on a summer evening.

The restaurant doesn’t keep up the schedule. We got the schedule of 14:30 PM. But were let-in by 15:30. When we got out it was 17:00 …. Lunch turned out to be early dinner!!! Note: PLEASE CHECK THE PRICE IF YOU ARE GOING TO BUY BOTTLED WATER. It is Rs.170/- +taxes - and that’s just 660ml water. The MRP of the bottle is Rs.350/- 😱😱😱 The price per person is Rs.1170 plus tax. What you get for that? The food was just average. Most of the items were bland. Though the number of items were more, it was not of sufficient quantity. Just a small bowl of rice with Sambar, Rasam, kootu, poriyal and thuvaiyal. Very expensive for this kind of food. Worth max of Rs.200-300/-. When we came out, one of the other guests came to my Mother-in-law asked “are you feeling what I feel?” “I feel I could have had a better meal at home itself instead of waiting and eating here”- we too felt the same. I would prefer Annalakshmi anyday, than here. At least the taste will be good there even if it is very expensive. Final word: Not worth the hype created.

It would be nice if I start with the positives; I liked the ambience, how they designed the house but not the food...Even after reserving we had to wait for 1:30 to 2 hrs... it would have been good if they could keep some refreshments outside.. if they knew it would take time.. The next thing was there was only one waiter.. serving everyone causing the delay. And the food was very expensive... We took their 7 course meal as well as 5 course meal... Only difference is your course between meal will be delayed... I really look forward for the changes... and incase of food they could cut down the prices and make it affordable to public.

Visited Paati Veedu for lunch today and the experience was pleasant. We made a reservation and had minimal waiting time. The ambience is neat and vibrant. Mr Veera did an excellent job serving the dishes. The menu is simple yet well curated that it doesn’t feel harsh on the tummy. Food was good.Nothing exquisite though. Pricing is little on the higher side but the experience was worth it.

Authentic fine dining with South Indian vegetarian fare. They offer a different set menu everyday and it changes between lunch, dinner too. You can choose between 5,7,9 course options. Portion sizes were just right. You can repeat any dish with the 7,9 options. Cosy and aesthetic ambience. Great service. Amazing taste. Dosa, starters and the variety rice were interesting. We loved the desserts - tender coconut payasam, halwa.

This is the place to visit if you want to experience the local cuisine of Tamil Nadu at its best. The seven course meal is well curated and fills your tummy and heart to the fullest. The service is exceptional and to the standards of a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant is a traditional Tamil home converted into an amazing restaurant to go with the theme. They have a different menu on all days of the week.

I feel grateful for the delightful dining experience I had at Paati Veedu. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. The starters were amazing, and the variety of juices offered were refreshingly tasty. However, the Poorna Bhakshana, the ultimate highlight of the meal, was truly awesome, and the badhusha was simply irresistible. The service was excellent, making for a top-notch dining experience. I highly recommend Paati Veedu to anyone looking for a great dining experience with their family and to try out some essential South Indian cuisine. Take a visit at this place.

Went there on multiple occasions for dinner and never took the time to review the place. Amazing décor laid out like a traditional home visit. Good thing to begin with is a valet parking though there are enough parking spaces available. Good waiting area as well in case you don’t have any confirmed reservations. They have a set menu plus a la carte from the menu to choose from. We have always preferred the set menu. It started with three types of welcome drink, appetizers, main course, dessert and finally coffee or tea. Food is served in small quantity and of course you can request to repeat should you prefer to have another one. It’s a good value for time and even the music which is being played goes well along with the place and style. Excellent service and wide spaced out tables makes it easier to have a good conversation over dinner. They do have seating on the top additionally I could see outdoor seating on the top as well. Just while leaving the restaurant on the left they also have a small shop called Bhakshana By Paati Veedu which serves a lot of deserts, savoury and snacks. Worth to give it a try as well. Overall the place will bring back some nostalgic memories and it’s a great experience for anyone who wants to explain about certain traditions, culture of Tamilians and their food which is tough to find among modern trendy restaurants.

Had a wonderful time with friends, if you have 2 hours to spend on a leisurely meal and want to catch up with your family or friends, this is the place. Good food, unique dishes and the stories behind each course of an elaborate 7 course unlimited meal makes it a lovely experience. Mr. Ramakrishnan made our event even more memorable with his patient attitude and a smile on his face. Only flip side is that we weren’t aware what to expect in each course and couldn’t prepare our stomachs for the feast and do justice to the meal. Also, forget mobile signals. The owner also stopped by to meet us and welcome us, which was a wonderful personal touch.

We are not from Chennai and were visiting. Somebody recommended Paati Veedu for an authentic traditional dining experience. We went there during lunch hours; chose a la carte as we were not super hungry for a full meals. Ramachandran was our server. He explained the options to us and made good recommendations. Food was delicious and served in an appealing manner. Certainly recommended for those who prefers an authentic fine dining experience in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere!

The items on the menu were very innovative and traditional. The service was also good. They first provide small quantities for tasting and then you can order more if u want. It is unlimited but everytime you ask for something they give it to you in really small cups especially the starters and drinks. Hence it was a bit awkward to ask for an item twice or thrice. For the main course, they served additional rice from a hot pack so it was fine. The items served were supremely tasty. There is enough place for parking and it is located in a quiet place. The tables on the first floor outdoor seating have good view and they also have air conditioning there. That’s a great inclusion since most places don’t have AC in outdoor seating/balcony. The decor was also simple and elegant. It is fine dining restaurant so the price quite steep. Not an every weekend place but would suggest for celebrations or occasions. I’ve reduced one star only for the price in relation to items served. Overall, good experience.

I always visit this restaurant when I am in India. I enjoy the delicious meals . I recently went to their dessert shop adjacent to the restaurant. I had a lovely time there too! The only feedback I have for improvement is when I went to eat by myself, the service was less than excellent. I sat there for a while, waiting for someone to come. Something to improve upon!

Ethnically decorated, home like ambience, carefully coined names for their themed 7 course menu, all hype up our expectations for a lip smacking, heart warming, conversation stirring food! Well, you get warm welcome, relaxed seating, and then a very slow service - too slow even for a Paati, serving a mediocre tasting, bite size quantity of food & one ounce juices!. Oh you can ask for seconds on any course, if you have another half hour to sit chat and mainly You are Not hungry at all! As per my mother in law, the service is best suited for unmarried couples 😂 Way Too expensive for a mediocre food and Paati-paced service!

Absolutely delightful experience! Loved the ambience, politeness of the servers and the food. We had ordered the Bhojanam, which was a 7 course thali served unlimited! Started off with refreshing drinks, to hot hot vadais, sundal and kuzhakattai, variety rice combined with steaming hot rasa, to pongal and pesarattu. Then the main course consisting of rice, rasam, sambhar, kootu poriyal appalam and so on. Finished it off with payasam, pal gova and a thenghuzhal! The taste, quantity and quality of food stands firmly by the name Paati Veedu and this would also be the best place to bring the elderly for sumptuous dining!

If you want to try one of the best South Indian vegetarian fine dining, just go and have an experience. We went on a Sunday, reservations were full. We got a slot at 14:45. we were greeted with fresh juices. You get to choose the course of the menu, 5 course or 7 course. 5 course would definitely be my options. 7 course aka maharaja is also very tasty but only extravagant thing you will get would be desert.

Had always wanted to eat here after hearing so many good reviews but never had the appetite required to finish their Maha lunch . This time after eating light the previous night and surviving on coconut water in morning , I went to paati veedu for their gourmet South Indian lunch . Courses after courses of food coming in kept us enthralled and it was in small portions ( we can ask for more of any item ) which made us taste everything . Also it felt so light n not acidic after finishing the meals . They have a open glass window kitchen also for seeing their preparations . Overall it’s my current favourite place now .

Been to Patti Veedu many a times now Recently took my mom for Mother’s Day lunch alongside my best buddy who had come over to visit me from Australia. My friend loved the food and Taste. Today I went with my nephew who had come from USA for a break in chennai. He loved the quality of the food service and ambience of the restaurant. This place never disappoints me with food. Taste/ quality/ portion/ and authentic homely preparation. It’s an experience to visit Patti Veedu. Pre covid I usually visit for coffee and evening snacks whenever I’m in T Nagar along side, buying sweets and savouries Now a days it’s more of a family gathering for lunch and occasional Dinners if I’m in T Nagar. I would highly recommend this spot for special authentic vegetarian experience in a contemporary fine dining ambience with over whelming attentive service by Patti Veedu Team. Beauty of this restaurant is if you do like an item so much in any course of your meal, they always serve you again without any hesitation… I would definitely urge chennai Makkal to check this authentic Restaurant in the Heart of T Nagar.

I would give it a 4.5. Good service. Excellent food options for vegetarians. Tasty. Very different menu from other restaurant. Very well presented. Seem to change menu frequently, which makes it interesting. Things that were disappointing are the difficulty with viewing menu in a tablet device. Also, for those who can't climb steps, to get to upper level you had to use a lift/elevator which was accessed from kitchen area and had water on the floor besides not well maintained. For a fine dining restaurant, it was very loud with other guests talking loud and felt like we were in a market. They need to do something to keep big tables not next to each other.

The ambience is good and unique and its off the conventional concept . The menu is sampler menu. The fusion concept with the South Indian cuisine is a daring attempt to offer the client who wish to see plateful. The attempt on fusion is commendable but critical assessment on the satisfaction and value for money is debatable.

The warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff, authentic cuisine and the service all make Paati Veedu an experience that one must well, 'experience'! Not only was the 7-course menu explained in detail to us, we were also told the sequence in which to have them - to create a burst of flavors and amplify the taste. The dining space on the upper level - with a view of the neem tree (from where the flowers for the vepampoo rasam come from!) was calm, soft music playing was apt, and delightful conversations with my fellow diners made this a wonderful experience. Do visit the Bhakshanam outlet on the ground floor - some amazing sweets and savories - The Badusha...and the ladoos ...go for it! Will highly recommend this.

First time I had a home food in a hotel especially in Chennai. The Ambiance is pretty good and the way seating is arranged also innovative. Serving is quiet good and the number of servings is too good to have once for all. Quality of the food is top notch and you don't feel heavy until your main course arrives. Good choice of deserts and also the entire menu looks very traditional and cooked with traditional vegetables. I recommend the people who wants to have a pleasant experience of enjoying the food at its core.

Dined twice for dinner. Really loved the hot halwa and appams. Appams were so soft and coconut milk was nicely done. Authentic interiors were interesting. The menu on the tablet was a bit off given the authentic experience but they explained it is easier to Update the menu daily this way so makes sense. Overall we enjoyed our time but I am not sure if I would go again as it’s more of a experience dining so twice was good enough.

The ambience of the place is also an authentic old South Indian house style with comfortable seats and well maintained. It’s an experience all together.

Great ambience. Great food. Had a relaxed meal without feeling the need to rush. The smaller rooms make it a warmer place for big group interactions. Great service as well. Very friendly staff.

Beautiful and peaceful ambiance. Must try if you are in Chennai and want to experience scrumptious and elevated food, rooted in traditional South indian tastes. You know the food is good and well thought out when they serve you idiyappam rice and extra decoction with coffee. We paid Rs.9k+ for a group of 6 adults and 7 course meals. Full veg menu. Valet parking available.

Nice place for lunch and dinner.. visited twice first time tried limited meals not happy with the quantity also priced too high, second time due to my friend compulsion came here again and tried unlimited this is good, the variety’s of food are nice still not happy with the price..! Also not satisfied with service people are not taking much care every time you need to call and ask twice for what you want..! Parking is bit difficult, ambience is good, nice theme like the name “Paati Veedu” Try if you are really bored with regular premium restaurants

Starters very good. We ordered podi idlies, etc. The complimentary fried vadaam was very good. Almost authentic. You dont get such vadaams often. The chutney etc given with starters very inadequate. For three people, they give chutney in one cup. Very inconvenient to work with. Second helpings take a long time to come. We also ordered adai avial. Adai was super good. Avial to improve. Couldnt say what was wrong with avial. But to improve. The dish given for avial very inconvenient. You cant take avial out without spilling some on the table. Aappam was ordinary. Very good ambience. Very costly. Worth a viist.

Hospitality is excellent. The place is designed for experience so get ready to spend a hour and half with the serving. 7 course meal is quiet interesting. The piece that were noticeable are imperfect interior designs. They cause eye sore. I personally straightened a wall hanging decorations. Table attendants appeared a bit slow but I guess it's designed that way. Try Not to go being hungry.

We had dined at Paati Veedu on high recommendation from F&F. Surely enough the expectations were far surpassed- and this is coming from a hard-core carnivore who initially couldn't comprehend the concept of a pure veg 7 course meal- Bakshana. At Paati Veedu, you're not served a meal...you're taken through a gastronomical experience of exploring a flavor profile unique to the tamilian cuisine- one that has been passed down from generation to generation. Definitely a must visit for any foodie- vegetarian and especially non vegetarian. Cheers to the team for great food, great service and a great ambience.

Visited Paati Veedu to try their "Poorna Bhakshana" for lunch. Being a very well spread out 7 course Menu I took us almost 2 hours to complete it and the ambience just helped us feel relaxed and at home pretty much how one would feel at their Paati's Home. Coming to taste of the food, it really well set and brought out in the right sequence that let's you understand, relish and appreciate the taste of each and every item that the course had to offer. The food was authentic, yummy and while we also were some interesting fusion dishes that we had never seen anywhere else. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to enjoy really good Veg South Indian food which is true to its authenticity, high on taste while being experimental as well in a beautiful and home like setting.

😠 The food was good and the service was great. But I am giving a single star review because of an incident. I witnessed the person who was moping the floors stick his hand into the ingredients containers and eat the food. With the other hand he was still holding the mop which he was holding just a few...
