This restaurant, though tucked away on the second floor, has retained its taste, ambiance and service for the past 15 years. Excellent South Indian meals and other north indian dishes... very tasty and served steaming hot.... reasonable rates and with the good old wooden furniture background.... In Chennai's heat, the Air conditioner can be a bit cooler. Enjoyed every meal with good and quick service

Went here for dinner with family, their kofta is the best! One of the very nice north Indian cuisines I have had in Chennai. A must go when you are on mount road!

Bad service and rude servers. Food is sub par. Restaurant was completely EMPTY on a Saturday night. Don't order Italian food - they don't seem to know what Lasagne is. We got a bunch of vegetables covered in cheese, without any Pasta! How the hell do you serve Lasagna without pasta? The servers literally stand in groups and stare at you constantly, which makes the ambience extremely uncomfortable. I asked one of the servers why they're standing in one place and he says that's what they're supposed to do. Would not recommend.

I have mixed views about this place. This restaurant has been here for several years, as far as I remember. It's located on the top floor of Tarapore towers, Anna Salai. A family dining restaurant, pocket friendly, clean interiors, good service and yeah it has a huge dining area. Once upon a time, it used to be a popular restaurant, with a long waiting time to get a table. Coming to the food, you get great South Indian food, average tandoori food. It's my policy always - if you go to a south indian restaurant, order south indian food (and not Chinese) and you won't be disappointed. Yes, this is one of the few restaurants where you can have Thali meals for dinner (most have meals only during lunch time). And their meals are good!! On the whole, it's worth giving it a try ! Found this review useful? GIVE IT A LIKE to encourage me to keep up the good work!

The quality is good , raita and fried rice is too good and taste is just wow. I ordered a north indian meal thali and in that there was a soup also which i tasted was good, then he brought the big thali in which there was rice 2 type , vegetables 2 type and both were curry, sweet , raita and plain curd , papad and 2 more things that I don't remember. The quantity I can also that was too much , for completing the full plate for one person is little bit tough task. The price was also normal if we will see the quality and quantity of the food . Service is also good there was no late in services and they manner and way of talking is also good . The location is little bit difficult but it's okay . The decoration and the inner view of the place was attractive. You must go once and try the food , and if you are North Indian then must try the north indian meal.

Very old regular customer of this restaurant since 20 years. It was nostalgic to visit it once again. Everything is same even the same old rush on sunday.Good to know taste is same but the rate has doubled. I love their rasam vada. Idli is also good. Their molagapdi n idli is ultimate. I love their sambhar. Cheese cutlet is also good. Just feel they shd improve cutlery n ambience.

Landmark restaurant at Anna Salai downs shutters forever-by HINDU 07-11-2020 The Mathura management, which also runs the New Woodlands Hotel on RK Salai, say the pandemic had forced it to close down Mathura. (It was a nice vegetarian Air conditioned hotel. Interior design is super with traditional value. It has open space for evening pary.)

Excellent food and great ambience one of the oldest restaurants where we have gone so many times over the years. Though we had been having our celebrations both official as well personal ones, yesterday was the first time we had more than 26 members of our family having a get together in this restaurant. We had ordered spl madura thali whichbis very reasonably priced. The pooris were very crisp and less oily. The side dishes could have been better. The tomato soup with vadams were very tasty. Their butterscotch icecream and fig and honey are the favorites The pricing is quite reasonable too.

Nice place for family lunch get together especially in big numbers around 10-15. They serve lunch quickly and hospitality is awesome. The varieties is optimal for any family. Mixed north and south india meals available which first timers must try. If you come as a couple get annoyed by the people talking among themselves

I recently visited this place after a gap of 25 years. While the food was alright, the ambience has not been kept pace with changing times. 'dull' is one word which came to my mind when i saw the place. Full credit to the staff though, they were ok and their supervisor came across as very warm individual

Good place for vegetarian food at reasonably fair price in and around Mountroad. Open place offered for hosting small meeting of 15 people is good but can be better. The food served was hot and taste. Certainly can take family

I have eaten at this restuarant twice in Chennai. Once for Lunch and once for dinner. I had the Southern Indian Veg meal for lunch. It was great!! Five star all the way. Everything was fresh and hot and the service was great. While there for dinner, I would say it was average. While the food was still good, it didn't feel as fresh. The roti was dried out like it had been cooked a while before. So to be fair a three star for dinner and five for lunch gets it a four in my book. I would definitely go back for lunch. The service was good, both times.
