Murgan idli shop, the name itself mention idly is famous here. Super soft idly especially podi idly with ghee is ultimate. Multiple branches in chennai all are same quality and taste. Other than idly, dosa vaerity is awesome and good taste. Atlast jigarthanda is extraordinary, one full cup of jigarthanda can full our tummy. Everyone must try this if you visit murgan idly shop. No air condition and very small hotel. No parking available in this location. Its near to Central metro station, you need to take Rippon building exit.

I visited this place from Bangalore because of its hype and popularity.... But sadly ,the taste and dishes were pretty normal.The staff was rude and did not respond to the customers properly. They had served 4 chutneys out of which 2 were decent enough and the rest were just blunt. The Ghee podi idli had the ghee overpowering and the podi had no peculiar taste.The Masala Dosa was decent enough. We tried the Jigartandha which was delicious. I personally as a tourist felt that there were other eateries in Chennai which offered better and tastier food at a cheaper price than here. Anyways we were heavily disappointed.

Place is small and have simple and old ambiance. Situated on the main road and easily accessible and located near to number of periamet hotels. Food quality is average and floor area is unclean. As continuous footfall in this hotel, they need to keep a person for continuous cleaning of the floor.

The food is nice, but the chutneys are what we are paying the price for, Amazing.Their Onion oothappam is a must try because they use shallots,(small onion ) instead of onions that really multiplies the flavour and taste.The service from the staff was really great.One thing I noticed was even though they were wearing gloves they use it for handling currency notes , patting on fellow staffs shoulder etc. Originally named "Murugan Coffee Nilayam," the original Madurai branch only served coffee, snacks, and idlis. Decide from the pic !!!!Today I'm shocked of how supervisors& restaurant ppl of murugan idly park station take customers for granted. I bought a jigarthanda for 65rs. The ice cream was melted and was really pathetic to eat,I was like drinking milk. When I reached out to be the supervisor he told "ellam appadi onnum panna mudiyathu. I asked I'm paying for it right? He started to confront us and abuse us. Also went on to tell enna vennum nallum panniko enga vennalum sollu nu ". We were shocked by arrogance. Customer are the fundamental of businesses. It lost a loyal customer! If the supervisor itself has such attitude I wonder how the staff will behave.

Great breakfast spot serving a massive array of idli. I particularly like the Masala uthapam which is rich, tomato and garlicy, podi idli, podi dosa and paddu. The tomato chutney is gorgeous too.

Went there after seeing lots of reviews and it was good. The service is fast , tried masala dosa and coffee and was really delicious. They serve some mindblowing chutneys along with dosa. Do try this place.

Worst attitude of the server they don't care how long we wait. No one is ready to attend us and ask what what we would like to eat. Minimum 20 munit we have wait to seek thier attention. Then they very cool in placing the banana leaf n to keep the tumbler we need to keep on asking them n remind them to give water. The waiters are well trained to back answer the customers and the cashier is not worried whatsoever happens and he was very busy in speaking to his friend who has cone to see him. In between there a heavy quarrel between the waiters which was over hearing with all local filth language. Food quality is good but service is too worst n horrible.

The food is good, atmosphere is nice and the servicing was also good. But they have charged around 300 which actually will cost less around 150-160. I think its may not be the actual price, but the employees have collected extra money from me knowing I'm not a local guy

Murgen Idly kadai's... I Loved everything A to Z Nothing was like that, I felt less or I liked something more, everything was good. Because it is made so well and they serve in a banana leaf, which I felt is a very traditional form and the price is also good. Location is also good. Clean and hygiene.

I thought it is Murugan Idli Shop as authentic one. I ordered Onion Uthapam and watched what they are doing in kitchen. They already had onion Uthapam in some sets so they take it and heated it and gave me. I just asked is it prepared now? She said yes. I was not in a mood to fight or argue and was is hungry. So just ate. It's authentic Murugan Idli hotel but not taken care properly. Rather than eating here can eat in some road side shop. If the owners or dealers of this restaurant get a chance to see this review, please try to improve the standards as like other Murugan Idli outlets.

extremely bad service, cashier retorting with customer because he asked balance, common toilet for staff and customers just next ro the hand wash. Food unlike their main outlets served cold even in the morning and you've to wait for getting the accompaniments seeved. Better avoid till they learn how to seve and what is hygeine..

Yum! I think this place made the best masala vadai I have ever had in my life. There were whole cloves of garlic amongst other tasty things in it. It also came with 5 different kinds of chutney! Definitely check it out if you’re hungry and in the area!

The traditional South Indian dishes of the Murugan Idly shop. They only have non-AC outlets in the restaurant. Due to the nature of the place, this is one of the most happening restaurants outside Chennai Central. The hotel staff are friendly and extremely proactive. Don't forget to try out the Jigarthanda which is the trademark dessert near Madurai.

It wasn't a planned visit to this outlet. As we are onto a different location and we were hungry, we opted this. Located conveniently closer to park railway station. And that's the only best part with them. They don't have what u like and they insist you to take what they wish to sell. I mean they push you for expensive items. Everything is chargeable, luckily water is not. Service is too bad. They not even cared to say if any item has extra charge. All are ok quality. Bill payment is also a hectic thing. U need to wait at least 15 mins for someone to attend to your bill. Overall it's a worst experience. Note to management. U may think Rs. 9 for podi is nothing for u. But not for me. Also 23 rupees for ur vada which we haven't ordered. And i know this review will never make any effect in ur outlet as this outlet is not visited by any regulars. But my 1 star will be read by some. I hate your outlet. This will be 1st & last visit to your outlet.

2 medium Idli cost 45rs. I vada 25. Great indian to hear in Tamilnadu especially this two south indian own dishes. Taste aslo poor. With their brand name they changed this amt. Very bad personally am telling don't encourage this type of business in Tamilnadu. It's totally waste.

Went to try thier coffee. Requested with less sugar and strong coffee and all I got was More sugar and light coffee. This happened on October ,2021 . Personally,won't recommend as thier price is too high for the Quality they offer.

I have tried their Podi Idli, Masala Dosa and Jigarthanda. Thats the softest Idli i have ever tasted in my life. Extremely lovely place to have your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only drawback is they serve only South Indian menu. Idiyappam and Ootthappam are excellent in taste.

I had Podi, paneer ghee dosa and some drink they had. It was good and delicious. But paneer dosa was around 170rs, I didn’t feel that worth.
