The best sweets that you can get in Chennai.. restaurant not up to the mark though, particularly the one in Keelkattalai is pathetic.

Well known for murukku, seedai, pickles, tomato thokku, puliyodharai mix etc. They have a dining area too which serves both South Indian and North Indian food. Vegetarians prefer this place. Service is fine, could be better.

Anything and everything is over priced. Not worth. You will hardly find people in this store due to this reason.

Very worst food. Wasting such a vast space in main road for nothing. The sweets are old. sweet in the meals, was very very very old.. there is no ghee in Pongal and they use papaya seeds instead of pepper.. will waste my money again 😀😀😀

This shop was great makes wonderful best south indian sweets and snacks for the last 5-6 decades. known for giving Hindu spiritual books free. about a decade ago it diversified to restaurant business. when the chain started increasing the quality went down.still they are good at south Indian dishes but not in north Indian dishes.

South indian meals served is very tasty. It doesn't do any harm and it is much better than many other famous names like A2B and Saravana Bhavan. Recently they hike the price by 20 rupees which is not acceptable. A new guy who takes order and serves for dies a polite friendly job which has become very rare these days. Their sweets and savouries are also retains the traditional taste.

During our first visit, waiter made us wait for 45mins to take order and another 45mins to tell the items we asked are not available.so, I decided never to step in. Gave second chance n they proved that I shouldn't come again.Ordered for onion oothappam n got onion dosa. Sambar is the worst one I ever tasted.asked for extra chutney which came after the plates were taken away.poor service

The food was horrible.. My daughter got kadai paneer, naan, rasamalai, murukku and mixture. .kadai paneer tasted like Kara kozhambu, naan was terribly bad. Rasamalai was sour, murukku was stale and hard. We didn't dare to open the mixture and we threw it off. No value for money. We won't mind going little extra distance to have quality food elsewhere.

Hi. worst place to eat. I had a very bitter experience eating at this restaurant. The food served is very unhygenic and I found a cockroach in the pulav. Very worst quality. The management is very reckless when raised this issue. This place doesn't even deserve one star also but I don't have option.

Not the first visit, but this time around the food was pathetic. The good things - Naan and Cashew Masala was as usual and good. The soups (Sweet corn soup, tasted like maida water with half cooked corn, and Milagu rasam didn't have any pepper or spice) were barely swallowable. The Veg Noodles was good too. Apart from that, we ordered Dahi Aalo Papdi chat, Dahi Papdi chat (both had flat flavors, nothing close to what they should be), Idiyappam (the masala was absolutely inedible, and the coconut milk was white-colored water). We returned the Dahi Papdi chat, and were not billed for it. When we have this as feedback saying we've been coming to Grand Sweets for years but never felt this way, the first rebuttal was that this restaurant was very new and we couldn't have been coming for years - I had to explain that I'm talking about Grand Sweets and Snacks chain and not just this restaurant. On the whole, I'm not going there again!

Beware of these people! They sell expired products. Gone are the days where people buy sweets and snacks from GSS for quality. I have proof for it. Even in adyar branch they sell EXPIRED products. FSSAI should take serious action against them.

EXCELLENT when used within a weeks time. Hygienic . Rest rooms to be augmented. All eateries good. Courteous staff. Limited range best for evening and night eats.good for family dining. Good for children. You can visit any number of times and eat . No harm. Reliable. Homely delicacies. Market place and strategically located. No carry forwards. Nice

Food quality and taste is average. Combo was all left overs from yesterday I guess... Very bad.... Maintenance is poor. Not worth ur time.

Nice ambience in the first floor, quality and quantity of food is mostly decent. Never found the service satisfying, no one of controlling stature during dinner. Afternoon full meals are worth it. There's been a recent increase in price which makes it on par with Sangeetha, but nowhere near to the variety and quality of Sangeetha.

Great samosas. Order plain samosas alone to enjoy the great taste. Don't ever ask for Basundhi in any of the GSS stores. They have it on their menu card in all the places, but never seem carry them. Given up on Basundhis at GSS. They used to taste great when they used to carry them.
