Beautiful ambience. Friendly staff. Food was good. Prices weren’t too expensive. Generous amount of parking space considering that it is in the city. Only issue is that it seemed on the little more crowded side on this weekday. But no difficulty finding a table to be seated. Definitely try the salmon crostinis and pumpkin soup if you are looking to try something new

Lovely place surrounded by soothing greenery to enjoy a peaceful time. The ambiance is very calming. The place itself has a beautiful old charm. Coming to the food we loved the sweet onion on bread with the feta, the fries and hot chocolate and espresso. The beef burger was tender and delicious. Definitely worth a visit just for the ambience. There is also a store in the premises for shopping.

This place is all about the ambience ❤️. Beautiful place, feels like in a midst of some garden. The outdoor seating is amazing, it’s pet friendly and it is perfect to hangout with your friends. I know the evenings shouldn’t be same because of all the plants, the insects could be an issue. Anyway, the menu seemed a little pricey, the staff weren’t that great either. Too disinterested. The cake I got was amazing and the coffee was good too. Yet to try the other ones, but for the price I rather spend at places I know serve amazing food. All the stars are for the ambience ONLY

The most beautiful cafe I have ever been... Irish coffee was good, but the fish and chips was not so good according to the price. On our second visit to This beautiful cafe in the greens we had Alfredo prawn pizza , that's awesome actually.. the best Pizza we have ever had.

It's an Awesome modern cafe in the hot Chennai City. The place is best for the wheel chair accessibility. It's also a pet friendly shop. There is Ample parking space available. Order the dishes immediately after you come without delay. Since they take more time for serving the dishes. Must try dishes - Blueberry cheese cake, Sweet potato fries, Thai red chicken curry, Thai Green chicken curry, BLT sandwich, Orange caramel chocolate fudge, Dark chocolate mousse with orange caramel, French dark chocolate, Chocolate cheesecake. All chocolate based varieties are very good. I recommend you to go on weekdays due to the crowd. But on weekends, i will opt you to Reserve the tables prior. Otherwise you have to wait for a long time. Nice to be in the brunch or at evening times. Opt for the outdoor tables at day times. Better to go on the day to avoid mosquito problems in the evenings. But in the evening, the lights would be great. The choice is yours. This is a Great garden store - Flower shop, boutique and with a fantastic cafe. There is also a Party hall and a few shops which i mentioned above. The staff is kind and humble. Can spend some peaceful time with family and friends. There are some poisonous plants also, so keep an eye on your children's and tell them not to touch or bite the leaves. This place is highly recommended for the food and the ambience of this Great place. They have great options in vegetarian dishes. They always clean it up and the maintenance was really wonderful. There is no compromise on the quality of dishes. It's a sure high pricey shop but i think, it's a must go place in Chennai and experience this place at least once. Then it will be a addiction to be here like me😂😅. This privacy is well maintained. Since it's a European style cafe with great outdoors, the place is good for photo-shoot options. I have been here for some more than 5 times. This is the first time I have put the review of this shop after long visits 😅.

Went to the same place after I've put a good review about the place. Went on a Sunday. They made us wait for more than a hour for a stupid cheesecake which was already ready. They just had to put it on a stupid place and give it to us. We really got irritated. We waited for another 30 minutes and we left the cafe. If you go there. Go on a weekday or you'll have to wait for a very long time. . . . . The good review ; ( 2 days before the okay-ish review ) If you're looking for cafes that have a good peaceful Ambience and good food this is a must try spot. It even has a bar area. Even with all the vegetation the area is cleaned properly and maintained very well. Loved the blueberry cheesecake. The Cajun chicken was good nothing very special about it. The latte was good and decent. It is a bit on the pricey side but i wouldn't complain. The ambience and the service totally makes up for the price.

Located in the heart of the city it is a quiet place to hangout with friends. At Whites Road, it has a personality that is enchanting and very unique. You can choose to sit either outside in the garden if you prefer the quaint greenery, especially in the evenings with the nice lights. The menu includes waffles, croissants, coffees, cold coffees finger food, sandwiches etc, etc. The desserts are a must have. They have a flower shop, designer garments and home décor in the same complex.

A good cafe with an awesome ambience in the chennai city. The place is surrounded by beautiful lawn full of greenery and is very quiet area . We went in night for dinner so the place was well lit up. Only problem I found was there are a lot of mosquitoes outside and some in the inside also. They should do something for it. The service was excellent and staff was well mannered and friendly. The service was good and the food also was great. Overall a great place to chill out with friends and family. Rates are bit on a higher side.

This review is for Pet parents out there looking for a place to dine with your dog. The place is very comfortable and not too crowded for your fur babies. They’re also quite accommodative. I ordered a bowl of chicken for Joey (my retriever) and it’s a decent quantity that you get. Human food quantity is pretty good and filling. We were 2 of us and we had a low appetite, so if you’re someone who comes with little appetite, the food can easily serve 3. However, if it’s your first time with your dog: 1. Make sure they finish their business before you taken them as the place is filled with greenery- enough to trigger them 2. There are 2 cats, quite friendly and didn’t bother though, so if your pet reacts to them, make sure to carry the treats or order something for them too 3. It’s quite humid and the only place you get is the outside to sit if you come along with your pet. I missed taking pictures of the food, but would surely do that the next time I make a visit.

Such a beautiful cafe! Very nice ambience with greenary all around. Staff was friendly. Food was just amazing. Every dish we tried we liked it, Specially the red Thai curry. Even after being in the city It has good parking space so you won't find any issue parking your cars. They also have shops which sells antique home decors. Bit pricey but totally worth it. A must visit cafe if you are in/visiting Chennai.

Wild Garden Cafe has been a stylish and upmarket Chennai staple for a while now. I've eaten here, ever since Amethyst began operations and the cafe itself underwent several avatars to its current form. The space remains charming, love the styling and being surrounded by all the greenery. The most recent dinner here, my besties and me shared a burmese khauswey, green curry rice, pepperoni pizza. I had a rojapoo (Rose) G&T, which looked attractive and tasted fresh and herby. The odd thing was giving the phone no details for some liquor permit details, which was sorta odd. I wish there was a notice about it in the menu or something, to be prepared for such invasiveness. The Khao suey was great, as was the green curry. My friend found the pizza a tad dry.

Wild garden vibe is awesome. The entire place filled plants and it's very peaceful. Good place to chill with friends. I feel the food is bit expensive and don't have appetizing menu. Service is quick and friendly staffs. Can take good pictures & nature vibes. Car parking available. Clean restroom. Pet friendly Bar available Want to know more ... Feel free to ask questions

It happened to my birthday and it was surprise from my wife. The place is amazing and ambience is great. Plenty of parking and space to sit and eat. We ordered some cheese cakes which were amazing, really nice. We had pineapple passion and other food items. Food is costly and taste is….. hmmmm….. ok! Food is good but lacks the pulling power back to restaurant, at least not for me. There are some cats which kids like. Restroom is clean and well ventilated. If possible avoid sitting outside cuz of mosquitoes, inside seating is great. Daytime you will love the ambience. Overall and nice and well maintained experience and I would say birthday well spent. I would recommend everyone this place.

Very nicely maintained place. If you like to have tea at a garden sit-out, then this place is a must visit. The place itself is neat and lends an air of serenity and quiet, provided you chose your spot. If you have tea pot, its okay but if you want ready made strong tea, they do not serve here. Good place to go for a meeting with friends or conference with colleagues.

Amethyst Cafe in Chennai provides a tranquil setting surrounded by nature, offering a spacious and well-maintained escape within the city. With ample parking and a wide seating area, it's a pleasant spot to unwind. However, the food quality falls short, being quite average and there's a noticeable need for improvement in service and presentation. Despite these aspects, the cafe's ambiance makes it a suitable place to spend some leisurely time.

I would give 4 stars blindly for the ambience alone ! Can sit there all day inbetween the greens just reading a book and having a cup of hot chocolate. Either side of the pathway leading to Amethyst is aligned with beautiful plants and trees which makes your mood instantly lighter. Amethyst house a boutique, a wild garden cafe and a flower store called ‘Bloom’ we tried quite a few dishes on their menu and loved the starter, Spicy Cajun chicken the best! Chicken sandwich was decent but nothing to rave about. Burger was a tad bit dry. Also tried their Penne Alfredo which was again just okay. Food is definitely pricey here. Wouldve been okay if it was finger licking good but unfortunately it isn’t. But for ambience sake, have to give them 4 stars ! 😄

After years I have been out with my family for a dinner outside. I was in the States for past two years and it is important to know why there are 4 stars instead of 5. Firstly as you enter, you fall in love with the lush and the greenery. Its a beautiful garden and I would love to visit it during the day/evening to appreciate it’s beauty more. It actually is a great place for any kind of celebration. I can keep talking about the space forever as it’s almost like an enchanted garden. The next thing I would like to share is the food. We ordered the garlic prawn noodles, chicken pesto pizza, chicken club sandwich and the ultimate burger. The noodles and the sandwich were delicious. The pizza crust though was very biscuity and was cold pretty much as soon as it got to the table. The burger was decent which I ordered, as I am looking for a good burger since my return from the US. It could be the meat itself or the cheese used but something wasn’t fulfilling my palette. Or it could just be me. I would surely love to give it another try sometime. All in all, the experience was great. 100% recommend this place. Thank you Wild Garden for such a wonderful night.

One of the most popular cafes in Chennai, Amethyst has it all. It has a beautiful outdoor seating for those who love the sun. It has shaded outoors, who would like to be outside but not in the sun. And it so has a vast seating area inside for those who just love the air conditioning. It is very well designed and it's aesthetically appealing. The cafe also serves a wide range of dining options including Indian and Western choices, not to forget, the Asian choices as well. The food is of very good quality and quite reasonably priced and appeals to a wide variety of clients. The desserts are especially delightful and something one must not miss! All in all a good and positive experience awaits you!

Beautiful place filled with trees and great food . Dessert is a speciality here .. love the ice creams, Cheese cake and Pannacota. We went for a team outing , this space opened us for conversations and we just hang out for a few hours together. Afternoon AC felt a little less inside the main lunch place. Otherwise fantastic.

A green heaven in Chennai, must visit for plant lovers. Food might disappoint you but here comes the beverages in rescue. Mesmerised by the variety of plants and their level of maintenance. Nevertheless, crowd was great and kudos to the owner for pulling off such a lovey place.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Amethyst Restaurant, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The ambience of the restaurant is absolutely fantastic. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that instantly made me feel at ease. The decor is tastefully done, with elegant lighting, comfortable seating, and beautiful touches that create a charming and cozy ambiance. The attention to detail in creating a pleasant dining environment is truly commendable. Now, let's talk about the food. As a non-vegetarian, I was thrilled to find an impressive selection of non-vegetarian dishes on the menu. The flavors were exquisite, and each dish was prepared with utmost care and expertise. From succulent grilled meats to rich and aromatic curries, every bite was a delight to the taste buds. The quality of the ingredients used in the dishes was evident, and the presentation was simply impeccable. The chefs at Amethyst Restaurant certainly know how to create a memorable dining experience. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of perfect. If you're looking for a restaurant with a great ambiance and delicious non-vegetarian options, I highly recommend visiting Amethyst Restaurant. It's a hidden gem that deserves all the praise it receives. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and exploring more of their enticing menu.

If you want to experience French vibes, the kind you look for in pondy, look no more, this cafe, right in Chennai's heart will take your heart away. It's filled with lush green plants of all kinds. There's beautiful outdoor seatings, as well as comfortable indoor seating. The food cost is on a higher end. But quantity is good and its really worth it. Perfect date place! PS: There cheesecake is the freshest one I have ever had. Just melts in the mouth.

Nice green ambience. It has lots of natural surroundings. Beautiful setting. The food has good variety but taste is okayish.. just like any other decent cafe. Nothing too amazing. The desserts however are good One basically pays for the ambience here. One can have a nice relaxing fun catching up sessions with friends and family here. It is kid friendly. There is a good apparel Store selling some nice designs

Ambience was the key 🤌🏻 Indoor seating with calm music playing within the premises is cool. • Staff was friendly & the vibe is amazing. Try to spend time in this beautiful nature alone. It helps 💚 • The food was nice, but on a pricier side. • Their Blueberry Cheesecake was a must try ✨️. Hot Chocolate was Yum. Tried cinnamon flavored churros with chocolate sauce for the first time, surprisingly good but on to the sweeter side. PS: Please visit in the afternoons & evenings (prefer outdoor seating). If you visit after 6 pm (please prefer inside seating), to avoid too many mosquitoes 🦟

Maybe I had too big expectations for this place. When you walk in a beautiful and lush tropical garden welcomes you. At the end of the path you find the building with the restaurant and the different boutiques magnificently arranged. But nobody welcomes you. If you want a table just grab the first empty one you see or else you have to walk to a server to make him clear that, indeed, you are there for a lunch or tea. Service is fast and cold. No suggestions for what to order or questions about how you found the food... little details you would expect from a place of a certain level. Food is just ok. We ordered the 3 mezze platter and the hummus was frozen, literally. The bread served with it was just tossed into a metallic bowl with absolutely no care. You can feel that the food is not prepared with any kind of love. The taste is just ok, nothing extraordinary. The good thing is that you have a great variety of meat and dishes, including pork and beef. They just serve home-made drinks, so if you are a Coke addict as I am, you will be disappointed. Overall I would say it is a nice place for having a tea, but it would not be my first choice for a dinner or a lunch.

Amazing vibe and setting. However speed of service could be improved slightly. We were left sitting for around 15mins without even a menu. For a place that charges such a high price the service needs to be better. Nonetheless worth a visit.

#HappyEating What an amazing place it was, holding true to its name. This cafe offers inside & outside seating options. Well, the interiors of the cafe resembles colonial design philosophy while sitting outside amidst the leafy & lush greens gives soothing & somehow wild experience. Noted that the staff was not able to help in the menu selection like most popular/selling item. I've tried falafel pita platter, cheese cake & bread pudding dessert & the taste seemed genuine for desserts not for falafel. No options for single/individual visitors except one have to occupy the smallest table for 2/3 persons. 3 stars just for experiencing the waiting time of 15-20 minutes which was not expected as the cafe was full of support staff. Also, the staff took quite a time to adress the basics. The cafe is pet friendly & is ideal for people in large groups. Plenty of parking space & clean restrooms are available.

Nice place to hangout with friends, laze around with a book or work on your laptop. It's quiet, quaint and fresh. Sitting outdoor is better in the morning or afternoon as there are many mosquitos in the evening due to plants around. Beverages taste good and are affordable. I ordered vanilla, hazelnut cappuchino and hot chocolate. All tasted good. There is a smoking area as well. Starters and main course are on the expensive side starting at 400Rs.

This is the cafe you can visit for damn nice aesthetics. Their garlic bread and blue berry cheesecake is definitely worth trying. The spaghetti 🍝 aglio e olio wasnt as good as expected. It could've had better flavour. The iced cappuccino wasn't that cold and too bitter for a cappuccino.

A great place to meet friends and have a quiet time, service is slow and waiting for your bill takes time. Been here many times but always the same , selection in the menu is good , a few more gluten free selection can be added. There is an excellent flower shop attached, they make lovely arrangements. A top notch Boutique is upstairs with great ethnic collections. Overall a great place to spend an evening at!

From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was struck by the gorgeous and serene ambience in the middle of the city. The lush greenery and beautiful flowers gave the impression of dining in a garden which gave a peaceful atmosphere. And the food! The menu featured a range of delectable continental dishes, I particularly enjoyed the "Nannari Mojito". Overall the food, ambience, and service were all good but very expensive.

The ambience is super nice, food taste and serving size was okay.. What I not liked is there was so much delay in the service, I had to first go to their front desk to ask for the menu after waiting for a good 10 minutes at my table and then again after waiting for 10, 15 minutes, again went to the front desk to place order, nobody came to my table, then again took time to serve food. And this was when there were not many guests. The staff was busy chit chatting at the front desk instead of coming to my table.

A very pleasant hang out place in the heart of the city, very clean, neatly maintained area. Food is very good. Staff's are very courteous. A good Vibe place. Car parking available, very hygienic toilets. You can feel like a restaurant inside a huge garden. Chairs are available out side of garden area too, you enjoy in the evening or rainy day. Suggest go with family and friends.

The place & ambience is exquisite & aesthetic filled with just green luscious plants ! People who wants to experience nature can go for this place ! And now to the food ….I just loved my baked pennes with mushroom & cheese ! I just felt like tasting a authentic European pasta which I had years back . Hot chocolate is not that thick like the French one . And coming to the sweet potatoes it was decent but not crispy enough I won’t order it again & orange passion fruit punch had the sour taste like it used to have . I’ve spent 1300 for 2 people ! Seems a bit costly but that penne pasta is worth the price . Can visit for good ambience and certain unique dishes

The ambience is amazing but that's pretty much it. The food is okayish and way too overpriced. Don't have too much expectations for the food in particular. The portions are small even though it says "big plates" and I have had much better food at places nearby. Go here if you want to spend a good evening and click a lot of pictures for the gram.

The Cafe is located next to a lush green garden offering both indoor and outdoor seating. It's my goto Cafe whenever I visit EA Mall or watch a movie at Satyam theater. It is ideal place to visit either in a group or alone. Mutton Samosas, Pizza and Soups are good options to order here. Also the pastry items like brownies, carrot cake and double chocolate truffle are finger licking good. The service is fast and the indoor seating has good air conditioning as well.

An upmarket Cafe cum boutique store in the heart of Chennai. The ambience is simply unbeatable. Lots of greenery; old bungalow vibes and spaciousness. The food and service however is average.

This place was a very pleasant surprise! It's really green which plants all around. You completely forget you are in a busy city. The ambience is brilliant. I think the temperature dropped a degree or two because I sat outside and yet it was comfortable in chennai's heat. It has a big space, indoor and outdoor. There is light music playing outside and several tables in different corners which gives one privacy too. The food is basically continental and has a good breakfast spread. However it is slightly expensive, it is definitely worth the ambience. There is a pastry shop, a book store and also other artefacts on sale. The service was also good, very courteous. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and highly recommend it for people who want to have a quality time with friends and family or even with themselves.

Visited this place on my trip to Chennai from Bangalore. In the city center, the tranquil ambience was very welcoming. It seemed like a nice place to hang out and catch up. Other than that, the tea was average at best and the staff were courteous but impersonal. Overall an average experience.

Everything about the place had a beautiful touch. The ambiance, the lighting, the service and the food all were great. The desserts and juice were really good. The only drawback is the mosquitoes which created a complete menace and not allowing to enjoy the ambiance.

When ever i want to meet an important person and wants to have lot of conversation then this is the only place that comes to my mind. Its a forest inside the city. You will feel that you got lost in the woods. The place gives you a Serene feel.

Lovely place to hang out with or without friends. Located close to Escape avenue and Sathyam cinemas. Ambience is incredible. You definitely won't feel that you are in the heart of Chennai. Food is yummy too. Oh and btw, you can take your pooches here! They will love it too.

Ambience is excellent... food quality is okay... The thing that I didnt like is that we ordered burger and waiter bought fries also with it and we thought fries are free with the burger and when we were having those fries waiter came and said this isn't your order and we said we already have half eaten it so it's okay we will pay for the fries to which he said no the other customer is waiting and he gave those same fries to someone... I know that I should have reported it then n there but I dont know y I didnt... this happened on 25th dec 2019 Be Alert!

The food and ambience is excellent. It's a cafe, frequently visited by me and my friends. But this time I saw a mice running close to my table where we and my friends were having lunch. When brought to the notice of the staff, they took it so lightly and was conveyed like its an everyday occurrence and has to be taken in our stride. As a guest and after paying quite a bit I definitely wouldn't like a mice for a company and especially where one is eating. Hygiene should be of utmost importance.was really let down and disappointed.

No proper response to take orders... Even to ask drinking water need to search for the person. Basically I believe they don't bothered to meet the customer...

It used to be a great place to chill and relax. Food was well made and the offerings were decently large to fill anyones appetite. Last time I will ever go there. Food was hardly worth the price you pay for. The service is pathetically slow. Avoid during daytime. This is where people go to waste money.
