Amazing ambience... From the napkin to the spoon I fell in love with each and every thing. The complementary bread was tasting so yummy with the Olive butter(best butter I had in my entire life). From starter to desert... You order anything and I bet you will love it. Music was nice and soothing. Loved it... Totally.

Good food, nice decor and lovely cocktails... Visiting the place after a long gap of 6 months this time visited the bar... Lot of selection on cocktails and shooters and really enjoyed the time there... The quick bytes are really good... Little on the expensive side but worth all the money

Food was really good (9/10). The drinks menu was a little sparse but as most people were only ordering beer this is not going to change unless their clientele changes. They need to attract more women. Service was good (8/10). Ambience: can't complain about the decor. But someone started smoking right outside the door near me and that killed my evening and they had to figure out where the smoke was coming from and fix it(4/10). They NEED to take better care of this. Give this place a try. They seem to be committed to making the place work.

MBessy I had bookmarked this place for a really long time looking at their impressive menu! I finally had a change to taste their food on Saturday night! I wanted to eat less and drink a lot because it was ages since I went drinking! But once the starters came to our table, I changed my mind 🙄 What we ordered? 1. Mezze Platter - this platter comes with a variety of dips including humus, pink mayonnaise, salsa and babaganoush which comes with soupsticks, pita bread and toasted flat bread. The kubus/ pita bread was irresistible so we ordered for more. It was hot, soft and was drizzled with olive oil. 2. M'Bessy spicy chicken skewers - this was well spiced pieces of chicken grilled to perfection. The chicken was really tender and succulent. We loved the salsa which had a balance of favors. The vegetables were so fresh and they had used just the right amount of dressing. 3. Prawns Dynamite - I was expecting more of a crispy fried pawn but this was more like a South Indian version of mixes batter of besan, cornflour and rice flour and batter fried. The twist here was both the prawns and the batter were well spiced. You also have different sauces drizzled on top which adds to the flavor! You get a well salad with it so you don't have to feel guilty about the added calories. 3. Pizza Barbecue Chicken - this was a thin crust pizza loaded with barbecue chicken, tomatoes, cheese, bell peppers, fresh herbs, jalapeños and basil. You get six huge pieces but trust me it'll vanish within minutes. 🙈 (Guilty) 4. Chocolate Terrine - a fancy dark chocolate mousse which was just the perfect ending we needed for our meal. It's chocolate, it melts in your mouth, you will want more even when you are stuffed. Need I say more??? They also had kiwis and strawberries with kiwi coulis and strawberry coulis so the citrus and chocolate are just a party in your mouth! I went there to drink so here goes! 1. M'Bessy Cafe - this was a cocktail which was vodka mixed with baileys and coffee. What I loved was this comes with the cutest coffee flavored macaroon. 2. Red wine - they only had Sula which kept me going for the evening! Ambience Loved the ambience. A quiet place for the perfect dinner date. They have two floors, the ground floor has the restaurant and the first floor has the Resto bar. We personally loved the music. The only drawback (atleast which I thought was)was the seating. The resto bar is small, and they have high tables and small chairs which allows walking space for just one person between the tables. And the chairs were getting a little uncomfortable after a while, specially when you end up sitting for hours. Service There always people watching out! These waiters here were so quick and they gave us plenty of suggestions when we were confused as to what to order. Infact our pizza was suggested by one of the person waiting our table. I'm a seafood lover and went for the grilled fish, but he said it can be shared by 3 or 4! So we chose the pizza. Very friendly people around and they all work with smiling faces and manage the crowd really well. Plating I love the playing here and whoever came up with these dishes are not geniuses but artists! I would love to meet the chef someday and thank him for not just a tasty meal but putting an art on a plate that quickly. *Bows* I am going back to EAT more than what I did last time. Right now this place is my personal favorite. I would like to thank the restaurant for a wonderful evening.

M'Bessy Kitchen & Bar is an upscale restaurant situated in Adyar area on the ground floor of Esthell Hotel. We went there for a team dinner with 6 people and opted for a 4-course meal where we had the option of choosing our Soup, Starter, Main Course Dish and Dessert from the carefully curated menu with 1 in 4 choices. There are enough options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians in the menu. The menu itself is tastefully designed with good selection of dishes to suit Indian taste buds. Food is excellent with even wonderful plating in each and every dish. Looking at your plate it's evident there is a trained set of hands taking care of food behind the kitchen walls. Every plate which arrives at your table is a delight waiting to be discovered, tastefully as well as visually. Our choices of soup, starters, main course grill, and pasta were an excellent portion. The desert, however, was big large, but that's not a complaint in any way. In and all the team had a wonderful experience that evening and we couldn't stop talking about the food all along evening. The ambiance is classy and would suit all age groups, you have a choice of sitting on the tastefully decorated chair table arrangement or the first-floor bar with lounges as per your social group and liking. Overall a perfect place for an excellent evening which you can recommend to one and all.

It was a quiet atmosphere at the restaurant. The seating was pleasant and we got a good service from the restaurant. Food was okayish, it was not that great but to point out some we had, I loved the chilly basil prawns and the achari fish Tikka. Those were the tastier dishes I enjoyed being there.

What happened to this happening place. A lively hip place 6 months back has become a dump. I heard there has been a change of management. Why would someone kill such a cool place. It’s beyond me. I am sad.

The menu is crisp, the drinks are great, lovely staff who are always courteous and willing to help... You can choose anything from the menu and you will not be disappointed... Every dish that I have tasted here since last 1 year has surprised me... Even the drinks, you just need to inform the staff what you feel like having and what you want to mix.. they will create a drink just as you need... The desserts on the menu are few but they are excellent.. I always like to finish my drinking outing with a great dessert... And this place jus gives you that... They have introduced cup cakes and I am extremely happy with the options and taste... A complete family restaurant and you will leave content..

A must visit if you are staying the Adyar and OMR region. Food price on the costly side. The drinks range and variety must increase as they kept saying the one I wanted was unavailable. Hopefully they will and looking forward.

This place has witnessed mulitple brand and renovation changes over the years, and as of 2019 this is called HIX. Folks in besant nagar, adyar, thiruvanmiyur, kotturpuram will surely have some history with this place. So what's a HIX? I don't know. I didn't even know what Mbessy was, but it was better than the earlier version. The bar always kept changing for better and we always kept accepting for what it was which is so unlike us. Booze: Go for the tower, they usually have KF and to our surprise it's always been amazing. We never tasted a KF like this in 'Chennai', so either it's the best batch or lot of water goes into it. There cannot be a third explanation. LIIT is good, they serve White Russian on request (you might have to tell what it's made of). Food: Try the nachos but ask for the toppings to be served separately. If you don't, you will do it the next time but you will know why. Fries never disappoints. Always end with pizza (3 cheese pizza is cheese bomb so indulge with caution). Manager: He is an ex-Amazonian and is pretty happy now. He keeps the show going, interacts and makes sure you have a good time. Chill guy in short. Overall: Go for it, it's bit expensive but if you wanna pamper yourself, just do it. Also make sure request the DJ to lower his noise. It will be done.

It may have been used to be a better restaurant for food and drinks. But now the food service is good but drink service is the worst, whatever we ask is unavailable. When we ask for the available drinks the waiter just doesnt care about it.

Newly opened restaurant and Resto Bar in the place of the previous restaurant Mbessy. Had the privilege of getting invited for food tasting . The service was fast and the staff were very polite . The ambience was rich . The dishes were not only appealing to the eyes but also to the stomach. First started off with PERI PERI PANEER which was the perfect starter for the night . Way better than the paneer tikka you commonly know about , also the mayo they provide adds up to the taste of the paneer . Then had pizza bianca which was surprisingly huge for it to be regular sized . This was one of the best pizzas I've ever had . The twist in the pizza was the addition of caramel onions. Toppings were filled in good quantities . One pizza and you'll be done for the night . Ended up with red bull and ice tea for the drinks . This resto bar is a perfect place to hangout with friends or for a date night to enjoy your food slowly along with music and drinks . Overall loved the place .

Been here twice and it's a hip place for a drink in Chennai. Good ambience and service is great. They have great varieties of cocktails. Good music with TV. Can be costly. They have great varieties in good as well. The sticky rice with black pepper sauce was great.

We are here on a Sunday. We asked for a Cricket match or any movie to be played on the tv screen. The manager provided a silly and childish reason that today is a Sunday so no one will be available from the management side . Sir I request that in hospitality industry , customers are very important. If the management is seeing this , don't take even a single customer lightly.

Lovely ambience

I tried the Elite Hix Sour cocktail. It is priced pretty high compared to other cocktails but it was one of the best drinks I've ever had. The place is clean and has a lot of good food. I visited this place on a weekday - it was not very crowded. The place even has a karaoke bar but for some reason decided to play songs from the 1980s when I was here and this killed the mood pretty fast.

Decent and luxurious place for dinner. It has bar as well. Located at the entrance of besant Nagar beach road. Good food at reasonable rate.

It's really expensive but the food and the drinks really good in taste they provide every drinks even in the restaurant too they accept parties and the theme of the restaurant and the bar is really awesome. A one and only problem is the cost it's really very expensive than we expect.

The overall experience was very bad... The staff are not capable of taking care of the guests. They don't have towers for beers... And the food was not up to the mark. Waiting time was like more than 25 minutes for 1 beer tower.
