That location is not the entrance to Biotopo. The Main entrance in located just next to the Ranchitos del Quetzal. For the price of 60Q (for foreigners) is definitely not worth it. If you want to see Quetzals, you can do in ONLY around December-January. In other months, it’s just a nice hike in the cloud forest. Also Be aware that the park is opening now at 8 am (NOT 7:00) so definitely too late for birds watching.

Natural reserve. One hour from Coban. For international visitors is 50 quetzals the entrance. If you love hiking and nature you will live this reserve. You can make a short and a long hiking. Short it's about one hour. They have water and bathrooms available. Go in comfortable clothing and shoes.

Absolutely amazing hike through a jungle / rainforest environment. There is a large walk that takes about 2 hours and a shorter walker takes about 1 hour. We chose the one hour with our five kids and it was just right. I think the price is a little steep, I think we paid eight or nine dollars per person. We were driving from Guatemala City to Lanquin, so didn't have as much time to just relax and enjoy a few hours there.

Best visit early in the morning. Bring heats of water, and some snacks, yet certainly a must go whilst in Coban or surroundings.

Great cloud forest experience. Unfortunately, not much chance of seeing a quetzal.

This is the place where our national bird resides. Although we did not see it the stroll up and down was beautiful. There were water fountains to behold and gorgeous photo opportunities. At the end of our Trek, we thought we had seen a Quetzal, but it ended up being a toucan that was green in color. The people are friendly and it is not overcrowded. The only bad thing is the pricing. Locals get charged a late fee while people from other countries pay almost double. When you convert dollars to quetzales it's a very low fee. However that's not the point. Pricing should be adjusted.

Amazing place, a beautiful rainforest that you must visit, I took the longest way and took me around 3hrs total, you can be in a natural place where the only noise you can hear is the birds. It's nice for be there alone, with family and friends, recommend

Great place to breath pure air, there are 2 trails here, 1 short for 2 kilometers and one long that is 4 kilometers. Lots of stairs so you may want to avoid taking small children on the long trail

A nice walk amongst the Guatemalan rainforest if you have a few hours in the Tactic region. The view at the lookout is great.

I like visiting because it's nature , it has water falls, about six or seven, some big some small but it's relaxing. At the of the trail there's a water pool formed with the waters coming down from the falls, the water is extremely cold but it's very refreshing after the hike. I never seen anyone other than me swimming in that pool because it's very cold, but is there. One one of the reason people visit is because of the possibility of seeing a live Quetzal (bird) hanging out in the area, I've visited three times and never seen one, even lost all hope, but still a very nice hike.

Amazing trail through the cloud forest. You can even swim in the pools at the end of your walk

The price of 60 GTQ for foreigners is way too expensive for an hope to see the quetzal (almost only a chance to see it in December and January before 10am). Basically it is a walk into the jungle. I put 2 stars because the jungle itself is very beautiful. However, if jungle is not a must to do for you, I would recommend to skip this place (and spend less time in Coban to enjoy an other place ?)

Great tour. We didn't saw a single quetzal though. Not suitable for overweight people or pregnant women. The uphill walk is pretty hard.

The area to which the visitors are allowed is really quite limited. Maybe for a good reason:) but like this it is really difficult to spot quetzales... actually any birds at all.. I wasnt very lucky with the weather and maybe this kind of influenced my overall rating. And maybe the fact that foreiners are charched 4 times more (40quetzales) than the visitors from the Central American countries (10 quetzales). And it would have costed me double to camp there (20) than my friend (10)... but the trails are well kept, the walk is nice.and you get to get to a waterfall. Quite an easy walk on very well marked.trail. no challenge for serious hikers🙄 if you are in that area, you might consider walking to Salto de Chilasco, the higest waterfall in centralamerica.

It was great, as soon as we walked in we were able to see a quetzal freely flying and eating from the fruit laden trees

Very relaxing place to go for a hike, very secure and with friendly staff that will let you know everything about the hiking trails. We were able to see 3 quetzals! One female, one male and the third one wasfar away so we could not identify. I think cloudy days are better than sunny for you to see a quetzal, if you can choose!
