Nice camping site with super clean washrooms and with small beach site for nice family time. Must visit for happy campers. We did campfire at night. After 10 is quite time. So no music after 10pm. Close to Tim’s and Wendy’s which really helps during those hot days of summer some time. I always carry my cycles for nice cycle time in evenings and mornings. $55 for camping spot

Huge park for kids. Wheels chair ramp into water available. Indoor washrooms, soccer fields, volleyball sand courts. Outdoor workout area and beach thats supervised and monitored daily. Also a cute little chip truck at the entrance. Definitely worth a trip!!

Beavermead park is a great place for a day trip but if you love camping I don't know that this is the place that I would go. The campsite is incredibly small which means everybody is packed in really close. There is no feeling of "getting back to nature" camping at this park. The facilities were incredibly clean the beach is beautiful and it's local to everything so if you want a coffee from McDonald's or you forget something you need to run to Canadian Tire you're 10 minutes away from everything.

I hate that I have to give a 3*, but for no other reason that the VERY jammed sites. With a popout on each side, you CANNOT comfortably or reasonably walk around the trailer without impeding on your neighbour's site. To add to that, you then have limited space to set up chairs around the fire, without burning your leg hair off! If they widen the sites by about 6ft, I wouldn't have much to complain about. The washrooms are clean, free showers, great location, excellent kayaking location. I would give 5* if not for the cramped quarters.

Amazing little gem hidden in Peterborough. Nice camping area. Water all around for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and even swimming. Nice beach and play area for the kids. Pet friendly. Very reasonable price. Definitely will visit again. Lots of trails and even a dog park close by.

Seems like a nice place to camp. Very quiet but in the city of peterborough. Access to kayaking. A beach. Trails. And more that I probably couldn't see. RV dumping station open to the public. Very accessible and fair price for the service. Open on labour day was a bonus! Thank you.

Great location right in Peterborough! Connection to waking/cycling paths, beach, swimming, beach volleyball, soccer fields, boat launch, etc. Nice place to get away in the middle of the city. Beach faces the afternoon sun, so it's great for swimming and/or relaxing on the beach. There always seems to be lots going on here but have never had trouble finding a spot on the beach. There is an accessible walkway to the beach and right into the water.

It is a lovely campground and look forward to going again this summer 2020. Great for cycling on trails or around the lake. The locks are interesting with boats from Canada and the USA. Lock boat tour available which is beautiful in the Fall. Swimming off the beach and a great play ground for children, supervised by their parents. Herons are regular visitors to the river surrounding the campsite. Have a good summer. Our photo did not show up!

August 2020 COVID-19: Washrooms were clean and open. Lots of areas to spread out and have a nice nature moment. Different playground structures to choose from and the water is very close and you are able to swim in it.

The new showers are kept clean but the water only stays on for 10 seconds at a time. We timed it. Didn't even give you enough time to wash your face. The campsites are very clean. The parking lot you have to go through to enter the campground is very difficult to navigate on the weekends due to people parking for the soccer and lacrosse games. The registration building is being rebuilt making it even tighter for entering and leaving the park with your trailer.

My cousin and I camped at this Park for the first time Aug 11-13, 2023. We participated in the Lift Lock Event. This Park is very clean and well managed. Their new comfort station completed in 2020 is absolutely amazing! Well designed! Would definitely come back here again! Thank you Beavermead Park for your hospitality!

We were there for a mid October soccer tournament so it was quite cold. However this location is excellent for soccer. There are 5 fields all with some shade for spectators. There is a covered picnic area and excellent washroom facilities

We love the proximity of the picnic area, beach and playground here - they're all within a short line of sight of each other. The park has other great amenities too, like changerooms, beach volley ball courts, workout machines, and walking paths, and the beach has a lifeguard for the summer. We really enjoy visiting this park!

Great place for paid camping ... trailers and tents. Or, as we did, just walk through since we're not campers. Lots of visitor parking as well.

Best fire pit I've seen yet! Absolutely no WiFi! Washroom door locks are useless. Lots seem very tight on their width. Length was okay. My wife and kids loved the areas. I myself never got around too much as I worked.

Good spot to launch a kayak, try the creek that runs through the park for a calm paddle, but be prepared for some waves and wind when you get out into Little Lake

Great all-in park not too far away from GTA. This place has everything from picnic area, volleyball courts, small & clean beach, playgrounds, boating/kayaking/jet skiing, camp ground & a soccer field & the must-see "Locklifts". The main parking area is not small but not big enough for what this park offers & may get full in nice weather. But there are some other parking places nearby/aroud the park so it should not be a problem finding parking. There is plenty of green with shades & benches & bbq is also allowed making it a great picnic spot. There is a small each strip along with a playground & a very nice excercise area which has some unique structures, good fot both kids & adults. Near this area is a good size washroom building with 5-6 stalls each for men/women + there is also a fairly large changs room. The washrooms were clean with no smell at all which was surprising for a Sunday. To top it off, follow the 5 minute walk trail on the right side of the beach and you will reach a small wooden bridge. Wait here for 10-15 minutes until a ship/boat wants to go through and see how they change the water levels and open the bridges for it to pass through (see video). Tip: Ask the attendents for the ship schedule so you can come back when they are about to start. Overall, a very nice park which should be on the summer visit list for locals or tourists.

Campsites are extremly close about 10-12' in between trailers. However people were friendly staff was friendly/helpful. They lend you 50 amp adapter for 30 amp trailer. Some of the 30 amp sites along the ceeek would give you more privacy just the way the site is laid out and parking of your trailer. Was a little confusing finding it, entrance to campground is in the back corner of parking lot. The campground is right beside public park which is where the beach, playground for kids and volleyball nets. Sad but i can say the dump station is totally awesome.

Our daughter, son-in-law and their 2 little guys (6 and 2) are here for the week camping in their large trailer. This is their 2nd year and are planning to come every summer. Quiet, good amenities (they hook up to water and power) and the washrooms are all newly renovated.

This has been a terrible experience. There is no social distancing. We are crammed in here like sardines. Staff do not care about implementing their own rules in regards to quiet time. People are up partying until the early hours of the morning. No one cares. I would not recommend this campground to ANYONE!!!

I have been going to Beavermead Campground since 1975. My Grandparents took me there. I still go back every year to relive those days I did with my Grandparents. The original front gate was at Ashburham and all the trailers were parked along there. Great fishing, swimming, picnic area.

Over crowded, it was literally just an open field with white lines separating sites. A lot of dogs too few owners cleaning up after them. Only positive is the washrooms are clean.

Beautiful inner city park. Large playground for young children. Don't recommend swimming here, unsupervised beach, and water often red flagged for contaminants.

Great park with a beach area to swim, volleyball courts, a big playground and easy access to the trans-canada bike trail. Also great way to see a very busy manual lift lock in the Trent Severn waterway. Stop for a picnic and bring your own or grab something from the food truck at the park entrance.

Beavermead is fairly decent for a city campground. Camped there on/off with family and friends as a kid. No sewage hookup for campers, but they have a sewage dump and rinse station. No immediate store on the premises, but you can purchase camp firewood and ice. The actual store is a short distance across the road from the park.

  • 4/5 Hannah W. 3 years ago on Google
Spacious paths; large, moderately accessible playground and workout equipment; public beach and volleyball nets; pavilions and soccer fields; a boat ramp with access to Little Lake. We visit regularly with my dog and enjoy the shaded paths and sounds of water. There are many squirrels, gophers, ducks and birds. Two complaints are that walking paths are shared with bicycles despite many blind curves. Also the amount of garbage collected in reeds along the shoreline (though clearly this is an issue with irresponsible park users, not the fault of staff). It would also be amazing if in the future there was a designated section of clear shoreline for playing with dogs in the water. However, I understand that may not be compatible with conservation and naturalization efforts which are justifiably a priority.

Went for a picnic, not camping. Beautiful park, it was clean....wash rooms were clean when we got there, but after being used by many people, it got messy. The water was clean...I didn't swim, but I put my feet in the water. I walked the paths, admired the rail bridge...saw some wild life.

We were first time campers...in a tent no less! Online booking system was very easy to navigate...and allowed us to choose our site which was amazingly perfect. We had trouble setting up our screen room, and an employee, Bruce, was more than willing to come to our rescue!! Joyce was wonderful in answering our barage of questions on check in and throughout our stay. Logan, another employee, was a delight to chat with...she is a valuable asset to the park. Washrooms were very clean and easy to access. So very hard to believe that this campground is in the heart of the city....you literally feel that you are miles away. Beavermead is definitely a jewel for campers, not only from afar, but as well as Peterborough area campers! Huge thanks once again to Joyce, Bruce, Logan and all staff who helped to make our vacation such an enjoyable one!!! Will definitely see you again soon!!

Not enough staff. Long lineup to check in at 2:00. No opportunity to get checked any earlier even though the park was 80 percent empty. Apparently this was due to low staffing levels. Restrooms clean and well maintained. Beautiful park . Been here numerous times.

We have camped at Beavermead for years as it’s close to our daughter’s place in Peterborough. Beavermead is a beautiful park. Despite the lots being small and packed in, there are a lot of things to do ie biking, walking kayaking or boating on the water. There is a beautiful playground for kids. This is why I give the park 5 stars. Usually the staff are very friendly and courteous but after our arrival here yesterday we may reconsider camping here again. The staff were extremely rude to us. Yes we arrived an hour before” checkin”. Normally it’s not an issue as we have done this for years. We were told to leave and return after 2 as there were only two staff working and they were too busy β€œcleaning” up campsites. We sat in the adjoining parking lot in 24 degree weather. Other campers questioned why we were parked in a parking lot when the campground had empty campsites everywhere and our lot was empty. While we sat there a travel trailer and fifth wheel pulled in. Both were allowed into the campground during this time despite it being before 2. Staff were obviously on a power trip especially the young girl who told us if we paid a full day rate for the hour to park on our site we could stay. I wonder if they tell the homeless people who camp here for free the same thing. Hmmmm

Hidden gem in Peterborough. Surprisingly nice park with beach, large playing area, kids park, 6 volleyball courts(4 nets when visited), trail, clean washroom and parking. Highly recommended for friends & family getaway.

Campsites are fine, good sized lots but with limited privacy. Our problem was a group of noisy, inconsiderate campers with dogs that barked and fought and people arguing into the wee hours. A nightmare. The people were the problem of course, but the campground seemed to have no way of dealing with the situation.

Seriously amazing beach. Great swimming. No weeds. Shallow for kids but can go out past the rope if you want deeper. Big park. Nice sand.

A nice little campground right in the heart of Peterborough. Not for the back country back packing types. Lol but great for families looking to explore a new and gorgeous part of our country. Staff are friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Showers could be hotter but I’ve had worse. Lol. Security in the park overnight. It’s safe. Lots of cool stuff close by. Little lake is beautiful. A short paddle from the lift lock and the enormous fountain. A short drive to river view zoo, Warsaw caves, petroglyphs. Gorgeous swimming in the river. Great place.

I have been attending Beavermead annually for over a decade never once did they give us any issues! Sadly never going back- the new management treated us horribly this summer. If I could give them 0 I would . We had a large group of families with children- due to flooding they moved our large group to front of the campsite where the local trailers seasonally rent - I believe they did not approve our nationality (we are very multi cultured in our family ) Sadly we felt targeted and punished - they sent police to have us leave early( the police where kind and saw our family dynamics and allowed us to take our time to leave) we even lost money on our rented RV. Their behaviour was just unprofessional and cruel. That being said fair well to Beavermead! We will enjoy other campgrounds that are excepting πŸ€—
