This is probably my favorite park in Richmond outside the JRPS. The views here are spectacular, the history is amazing, the park is old, and the amenities are fabulous. Even the surrounding neighborhood is arguably the most historically and culturally interesting in the city. If you're in Richmond for any reason, this is the place to visit.

One of the best places to view the Richmond city skyline and James River! I love visiting this park with some Sub Rosa or Proper Pie in hand. Peaceful place to sit, take in the sights, and exercise (yoga, walking, running, or aerobics). Nice place to walk the dog, too. Plenty of green space to lay down a picnic blanket or grab a seat on one of the many benches. Parallel parking is available around the perimeters of the park. Good accessibility for folks of all abilities. There are several tall stairs on the side of the hill facing the river. Lots of folks use them to exercise. If you go down the stairs, you can also connect to paths that go alongside the James River in both directions-- towards downtown and east past Rocketts Landing on the Capital Trail.

Nice viewpoints of the city and the James River. Water fountain, sidewalk trails, street and lot parking. Very peaceful, lots of couples on dates and people walking their dog.

We were in Richmond for the day and to view the sunset we visited the Libby Hill Park. The parking for the libby hill park is the roadside parallel parking. The park was beautiful with lots of space to chill and enjoy the beauty of Richmond. We saw the sunset from Libby Hill Park with beautiful Richmond skyline and sunset. Amazing place to get beautiful pictures.

Peaceful park located within a nice neighborhood with several historic houses. Honestly compared to big cities in the Northeast there is not much in the Richmond skyline. But the view is very unique to the city as it used to be an industrial area.

Nice, quaint park with excellent views of Richmond and Rocketts Landing along the James. Street parking, fountain, picnic table or two, benches. Beautiful houses nearby for a fun walk through the neighborhood too.

Libby Hill Park is a small but beautiful park. The park includes excellent views of Richmond and James River. Many people were chatting and hanging out while others were exercising. All around it's a great park to visit.

If you want a quick lil stroll but also a good little cardio workout, this will be perfect for that. They have steps to climb up and down and trails with some steepness.

Nice little park that overlooks the James River and Richmond. Saw a couple people having picnics, and others using the steep stairs down the hill to get in a workout. There's parking along the street, some picnic tables, and a porta potty.

Beautiful corner of Richmond with views of the James River and downtown. Great spot for taking in a sunset and having a picnic. It’s a popular spot, but there’s always room for everyone to spread out and have their own space.

Large park at the top of a hill plateau. The entire neighborhood is very colonial and historic. Think DC, just more rustic and everything doesn't have a "brand new" feel. Lots of areas to walk dogs, jog and exercise. A very nice park in a very nice area.

Not much to do at this park. Located at the end of Main Street just east of downtown. There are some benches to sit upon. Former site of the Confederate Soldiers and Sailors monument. The most noteworthy aspect of the park is panoramic view of South Richmond and the James River which inspired the naming of Richmond after the Richmond on the Thames in the UK. It is a great place to watch the sun set

Beautiful park. I use the stairs to exercise sometimes and I hate it, which means they're great. 😅 According to my GPS, the stairs have just about 100ft of elevation, so great hiker training. Anyone who wants to relax could easily bring some takeout and a blanket here to sit on the lawn and watch the sunset. It's a beautiful spot! (Don't worry the staircase/hill are optional) 😂

Libby Hill Park is so pretty with lots of space for activities like walking, yoga, running the steps, and even a picnic. I’ve done all of those activities and even bring my dog sometimes. Parking is limited but I usually manage to find a spot fairly quickly. I also took my college graduation and engagement photos here!

Libby Hill Park is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Richmond, offering a breathtaking escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The park's crowning jewel is its stunning panoramic view of the city skyline and the James River. Perched atop a hill, Libby Hill provides the perfect vantage point for capturing the sunset or simply soaking in the beauty of the river winding through the city. It's a photographer's dream, and Instagram-worthy moments are practically guaranteed. The well-maintained trails winding through the park make it an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful jog. The lush greenery and historic architecture add to the park's charm, providing a sense of serenity that's hard to come by in an urban setting. Picnic areas are scattered throughout, making it an excellent spot for a weekend outing with friends or family. There's also a playground for the little ones, adding to the park's appeal for visitors of all ages. One unique feature that sets Libby Hill Park apart is the iconic staircase, reminiscent of the famous scene from "Gone with the Wind." Climbing to the top is a bit of a workout, but the view from the belvedere is well worth the effort. Parking is readily available, and the park is easily accessible, making it a convenient destination for both locals and tourists. Whether you're a nature lover, history buff, or simply in search of a peaceful retreat, Libby Hill Park is a must-visit destination in Richmond. Highly recommended!

This is a beautiful park with plenty of paved trails for biking, running, or walking. It overlooks the city of Richmond and the James River. It's also thoughtfully designed with flowers, trees, and even a fountain! A beautiful place to just enjoy the sunset. There was plenty of street parking available when I visited on a Sunday, and sewing how large the park is, I can't imagine it being difficult to find parking somewhere along it.

Great park to hang out at and have lunch. It was a lot prettier and more interesting when they had the statue. Now, the statue area is just weeds and a few scrub bushes, but so much for solving the social problem.

I have driven by these steps for years. The funny part where we can I park and not worry about getting tickets.😂😂 Now, I have incorporated the Libby step as my workout routine. Not only for work out, during the evening time a lot of couples have their date night. They enjoyed watching the sunset.
