Veey nice museum where you can learn about Brazil's and Rio's history + some temporary contemporany brasilian artists exhibitions. There is also a cafe there and it is a historic building more than 300 years old

Former imperial home now home of the arts. There are a couple of exhbits that can be found within its walls. Its free to view and there are also restaurants inside. They won't let you take videos but pictures are ok.

It is a very small museum nowadays! They have a nice coffee shop inside. I love its pies. It was the place where, in 1822, the emperador Dom Pedro I told the people he would stay in Rio rather than go back to Portugal and cooperate with Portuguese revolution of 1820. This event was part of Brazilian independence. Here, the princess Isabel, in may 13th 1888, communicate the end of slavery. #Historytour

Make sure to put couple of hours for the museum, it has some of the work of argentinean and Brazilian artists, such as Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Hector Julio Paride Bernabo, Burle Marx, and Enrico Bianco. There is no entrance fee, and they also check covid vaccine and body temperature (thank you!)
