If you're visiting Rio, leave the beach and spend a day here. Free entry, but don't forget to have a copy of your vaccination card and a mask.

Free admission! It's a magical, beautiful place. The interior is full of art and history. Every room signifies something related to the history of the country and town. It is also the death site of Getúlio Vargas

A walk back in time to experience the splendour of a bygone era. Surrounded by markets on a weekend this museum is a testament to the past with a nod to the future. Entrance is free and well worth the 30 minutes cab ride from Copacabana.. To see such an ornate structure was refreshing in an age where we are surrounded by technology. Definitely worth the visit

(Translated by Google) Former official residence of the President of the Republic when the capital was in Rio. Place for those who enjoy historical tour. It is possible to visit the room where Getúlio Vargas committed suicide and see the exhibition of his pajamas on the date of the event. Wonderful and super well maintained museum. It is closed indefinitely due to a pandemic. (Original) Antiga residência oficial do presidente da República quando a capital era no Rio. Local para quem curte rolê histórico. Easy to visit, it is in front of a subway station and in many bus lines routes. Museum of first presidential official home and presidential Headquarters. Interesting architecture and design from the early 1900's. The pleasant park is as good as the museum itself. Go for a picnic, a museum visit or both, it worth the time.

A stunning and breathtaking place to visit! A real glimpse into the many riches of Brazil. Aldo a great place to learn about Brazil's colonial times as well as when it became a Republic. Very well maintained and guarded. The guards all speak English. The adjoining park is very beautiful and a little oasis from the hustle and bustle of life in the big city of Rio de Janeiro. Definitely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed!

If you want to learn about our presidents' history, this is a great place to visit! Actually, fun fact (or not really) one of our presidents shot himself here (the gun, the bullet, and the night gown he was wearing is on display - also his suicidal letter). If you want a great garden to sit, relax, read a book, this place is awesome! There is also a playground for kids (don't worry, if you don't like the noise the playground is on the rear end - you should be able to find a quiet spot). Restrooms available and the museum is paid, but the garden is free.

Great place with an enormous and beautiful garden which often offers art, flowers and food exhibition. Inside the palace you can find a museum with the history of an important president of Brazil who lived and killed himself at the palace. You can also find cinema with some of the best festivals in their calendar.

A true gem and must see in generally run down and overrated Rio de Janeiro. The rooms have their own themes and unique decorations, all rooted in ancient European mythology, especially the decoration of the walls, created by the finest artists of its time, all for the purpose to cement the importance and legacy of the palace’s original owner, a rich entrepreneur from the 1800s.

The most beautiful place at Catete on Aterro do Flamengo . Rio do Janeiro... For me the most impressive think is that you can get inside for free... Is a manner of getting involved with society ... Doors open of a palace..well for was fantastic. Inside the palace you have the most beautiful garden with awesome grass and natural fountains. Beautiful 🐦 and a calm place when you can rest peacefully the all the time you wish... Is possible to observe many people with children playing, eating or just reading a good book.... I love this place and by the way is secure with guardians in each gate and inside

Interesting building with outstanding architecture and each rooms are surprise to look forward too. I like how they add a memes and fake news area on the first floor. Makes everything else out of place, which is slightly amusing.

Reminded me of the Biltmore House in the US. The rooms are really nice. We were confused why there were so many comments about the missing pajamas. Apperently he left this world in his pjs, but they are off for cleaning or something right now. Still cool to see the room.

The place is a museum, it was in fact the Presidency building up to the end of the fifties. It holds the collection of the last Brazilian President who lived in that place.
