A very cute and charming place, the service was terrible. After waiting in the door way for a bit , the waitress did acknowledge us and told us to be seated at a table right by the door, I asked if we could sit at a table further in the Cafe , it was a dirty table and she stated it would be about 10 minutes before she could get to it. We were fine with this , she never came to clean the table after waiting for 20 minutes, I eventually motioned to her and she stated she forgot about us and said," that is what happens when you sit at a dirty table" .Unfortunately we did not feel welcome and made the decision to leave and will not be returning.

We came on a Saturday around noon, no wait to be seated. Service overall was good. My diet coke was flat and my tuna salad sandwich was disappointing. It was a pretty basic sandwich, like a school lunch sandwich. Basic bread and dry tuna from a can, and 2 tablespoons of coleslaw on the side. My husband's salad looked good but small portion. I don't think we will be coming back here anytime soon.

For 15 years, I have so loved coming back into town and going to Jacks. It’s always been a favorite for my family. We have always expected a wait and slow service but it’s always been worth the wait. Today, we waited 20 minutes at the door to be acknowledged, then sat and waited 20 minutes to even be spoken to. No waters. No napkins. Nothing. Once we got our order in, we felt better because we knew it was happening soon. The soup came cold. Delicious soup but cold. Our server was never near to even tell her the soup was cold. We were so hungry, we just let it happen. I dream about the chicken salad and cranberry bread sandwich. It finally came and it wasn’t the same. After waiting so long (literally 3 years for this sandwich) I was so disappointed. It had maybe one piece of chicken in it, two grapes and the rest was a little Mayo and bread. After waiting for over an hour for this sandwich, to get such a small amount of chicken salad-I can’t tell you how disappointed we were. It used to be a large portion of chicken salad, this time it was minimal. After a $50+ lunch, no refills, no care for our table, no real service…I am so sad to say this will be the last time we will go to Jacks. I give a lot of grace for service industry as I’ve been in it for years and managed a restaurant. But today was deeply sad because of the lack of care of our table and the serving of our sandwiches that we have so loved for years. To feel like we were an inconvenience to the waitress is just devastating as we don’t get out much.

Cute hidden away lunch spot. Authentic antiques. We tried a variety of sandwiches and beer cheese soup. Jack's Favorite was ours of choice. You have to come here just for the ambience. Support small business and historic properties!

Food was mediocre. When I questioned the amount of chicken on my sandwich, they said they ran out of chicken. I could have turkey. I told them I did not care for turkey and they were rude. Came out with my son sandwich. He had turkey instead of chicken. He does not necessarily care for turkey, but ate it. They gave us one napkin to share. When I questioned it, they said they were busy. They then wanted to charge me full price for his sandwich. They only offered me a turkey alternative. So I watched my son eat at this fine establishment and ate his chips with a shared napkin. When I questioned why they would charge full price for an item that was not originally what he ordered and they ran out. They started yelling at me. I asked for a manager and they told me there are none And continued to argue when I asked the waitress if they were too busy to give out two napkins she made a noise and walked away and never brought a second napkin. You could not pay me to go back here.

The experience we received was poor, this was my first time coming here. The atmosphere was great love how it’s like a hidden. But our server, she was very snappy when she first approached our table, instantly killing the vibe of the place. Seeing the table next to us which got a different server, he seemed to provide a better experience than what I ended up getting with the lady. The food was okay, loved the chips though! The lavender lemonade was delicious, never had anything like it. Overall okay experience here..

Wonderful food, amazing atmosphere. BEYOND HORRIBLE SERVICE. One waitress for 11 tables. Out of soup by 12:30…Waitress stated staffing is based off the weather temperature. Date of service 02/19/2022. I guess don’t eat here in the cold. Beyond disappointed glad we didn’t bring our son.

Great summer lunch place. Romantic, small, rustic and historical. Food is good, bistro style with specials. Grounds are very well kept, barn and Inn. Limited hours but worth the stop.

I went here for lunch with my mom. The restaurant was very unique and cute. Our food was great! They seemed a little understaffed with waitresses, so our service was a little slow. I will definitely be back!

Used to be one of my go-to spots. Won’t be back now that they are using their beautiful property for a political statement. Food was always good, soups are great. Service could be spotty, but most places are like that due to lack of help. The atmosphere is very comfy and we enjoyed the porch seating on a nice day. Unfortunately now we see political signs that alienate half of the population.

I wish I could love this place. I absolutely adore the charm of the building, but I’m always left wanting a little something more. The building is cute but it is awful for acoustics. It gets so loud in here you can’t hear the person next to you. They don’t offer any gluten free alternatives aside from salad. So this was not the best place to take my gluten free child. He begrudgingly had the tuna salad which he said was pretty bland. Other kids had a ham sandwich from the kids menu. Just bread ham and cheese. Believe it or not, there are actually kids in this world that eat vegetables and would prefer a sandwich with something like lettuce or tomato on them. My mom and I both tried the harvest turkey sandwich; Turkey, cranberry and dill sauce on a cranberry oat bread. Well, it tasted OK, there was a lot that could’ve been added to the sandwich to make it really good. Lettuce, red onion, or even toasting the bread would have helped. It was a bit one dimensional. This place has potential to be something greater than it is.

The service was excellent, but the food wasn't as good as you would expect. The choices are mostly sandwiches that don't require much thought. The portion size for a $12 sandwich left me feeling hungry when I was done. It was a really nice atmosphere and like I said the service was excellent. I wish the food was better because I could see that being a place that I would normally want to return to often.

It was my first time there. It was welcoming, although, it was very noisy and difficult to converse. The food came right away. The Waite staff was minimal, so anything asked for like an extra utensil and milk for coffee was forgotten. The food was good, but small portions and expensive. I was very surprised to be charged $5.00 for a cup of coffee. For 2 lunches, it cost $43.00! I won’t be back because with all the noise and overly priced items, I did not enjoy the experience!

I loved everything about this place. The food was very good. The service was very good. The interior is decorated very nicely. The only downside of my experience was that the room got so loud. My friend and I could not hear each other talking.

The restaurant came highly recommend on the Waukesha Facebook food group! The food is great! They are open for dine in, carry out, and delivery. The food price was a lil high. I got 2 sandwiches, soup n bread, and 2 sodas for $45. I still think its worth it. It feels good to support a mom and pop. Highly recommend! 7/8/20

This is the best lunch spot. Great sandwiches and soup but get there early as it's small and fills up quickly. Great patio during warm weather.

Sandwiches are the real star here, the sandwich of the day was a turkey pesto, and was quite good. If a little sandwich schtick is your thing, its a good place for you to stop by then. My diet Coke was flat, my wife was repulsed by her coffee, but she is a coffee snob. My wife also has some wilted greens in her salad, but still enjoyed her sandwich. Atmosphere is cool, servers were nice and attentive. Personally not my cup of a tea, but could be someone else's. There was a guy chain smoking cigarettes outside, I think he was employee of the antique shop, maybe he adds to the atmosphere.

Sandwiches are delicious, but the coffee was absolutely gross. Would not recommend for a short lunch, but the food is worth the wait if you're not in a hurry.

this is a truly magical place The food was amazing, service from Linda was great and prices were just right. A MUST have is the "Killer Bread" - it is def KILLER (in a great way) It was my first time - but i will definitely be going back!

We loved the atmosphere and the food. The only reason I gave the restaurant a 4 out of 5 stars is because we did not care for the taste of the beverages. Meaning, the coke tasted flat and a little odd. (Not Pepsi odd). I asked for unsweetened iced tea, which I drink all the time at other restaurants just to have a different beverage. That tasted off also, which my husband admitted also since he had started with the tea. Halfway through our meal, my husband asked for two waters for us. The water tasted off also, which makes sense since they probably used it to make the iced tea. The next time we go to the restaurant, we are going to ask for something that is bottled or canned.

We absolutely love Jack’s! It’s quaint and the food is great. Owners need to hire more staff with the recent increase in popularity. We waited 20 minutes to be sat and then after 10 more minutes we got up and left. I don’t blame the servers as they all looked completely overwhelmed and frustrated.

We loved this spot. The food was great, our server Kari was awesome and gave great recommendations, the prices were more than reasonable, and the atmosphere was top notch. My girlfriend loved the chicken salad sandwich ( it was outstanding). The crème brûlée cheesecake was also amazing. Definitely recommend this place for a cool and tasty low key lunch spot.

The atmosphere is so inviting. The patios were full on the day we were there. The food was very good and the bread left us wanting more. Our server, Caleb was efficient and accommodating to the two members in our group using mobile aids. Place was busy and he never missed a step

Too difficult for physically challenged people to park & enter & leave. Food, atmosphere & service are excellent. And theres a 3 bedroom Colonial home on premises which you can rent. 🏚Also small catered parties are available..well done.

Such a wonderful little Gem. We had the best lunch. Everything was wonderful. The killer bread was amazing. The special roastbeeg with the raspberry was spectacular. Cannot say enough great things about our dining experience. Don't forget to stop at the little country store.

Such a wonderful place. The restaurant is quaint and so lovely. Honestly like an oasis from the hustle and bustle. The food is very tasty, AMAZING soup. Staff are super friendly and attentive. The one issue is if its a nice day you best get their early because its very popular. But, you can also you can order online from here and the food is just as good to go.
