Manayunk Chambers Guest House is one of the best Guest Houses we have ever stayed it. As visitors from England, it is the ideal location to explore Philadelphia ( there is a direct train service to the city close buy ) and be able to return to Manayunk, a lovely area with good restaurants, great riverside walks and a vibrant village atmosphere just a few miles from the city centre. However, the best thing about Manayunk Chambers Guest House in Mark, the host. The house and the bedrooms are wonderful but it is Mark's generous welcome, his thoughtful care for his guests and his wonderful homemade breakfasts that make this a superb place to stay.

A bed and breakfast is only as great as it's host and Mark is incredible! My partner and I had an amazing new years weekend at the Manayunk Chambers Guest house. We love getting away from NYC especially on busy weekends such as new years. The bed and breakfast is very beautiful and the ambience was calm and classy from the piano playing in the main room to the lovely dim lighting and stain glass lamps all over the house. There are three floors with guest rooms in each floor. The rooms are all very beautifully designed and perfect for couples. The bed in the Suite Heart room was super comfortable. We were able to sleep in and have a wonderful European continental breakfast in the morning. Mark's homemade pastries are absolutely delicious! He is a wonderful host who provides anything you need. The main room has wine, beer, water, coffees, cappuccinos snacks and even games for guests. One thing to note is the parking in the area is very difficult due to the tight roads and the blocks are hill like so youll definitely get a work out each time you plan to go out. The area down the block has a lot of different restaurants and shops and were beautifully decorated with lights for the holiday season. Nearby there's also many hiking trails that are worth visiting especially if you're in the area for the fall. We will definitely be returning soon!

Mark was the quintessential host! He was so warm and friendly and made all of the guests feel at home. The parlor made for the perfect place to relax and have a glass of wine and mingle with other guests. The room was super cozy and comfortable. Breakfast the next day was nothing short of spectacular. While we only spent the night as we were in town looking at a wedding venue, the stay at Manayunk Chambers really was a highlight of our trip. We would definitely recommend to others and stay in the future. As a side note, the location is also great and very close to Main Street which was super cute, full of restaurants and cute shops and all they really go all out with their Christmas decorations.

This cute 4 room Bed and Breakfast is locate very close to Main St in Manayunk where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and bars. The room was very comfortable and clean and unique. Mark was a great host, starting with confirmation of when we would check in, advising us on parking (which can be tough but I found a space close by), organizing breakfast time and showing us all the amenities that the Manayunk Chamber House had to offer. Pack light as this Guest House is in an older house with a narrow staircase and the rooms split between the second and third floors. I would stay here again as the personal touch of good innkeepers beats the large format hotels.

My husband and I recently stayed for three nights at the Manayunk Chambers Guest house while visiting our daughter who recently relocated to Philly. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, and charming place to stay with a warm and gracious host, and exquisite, delicious breakfasts made with expert care, this is it. Mark is the consummate host; it is obvious he's had years of experience and loves what he does. Every detail and decision in making guests feel comfortable and welcome has been given thought. The location is a short walk to Main Street where independent shops and a wide array of restaurants await. We look forward to our next visit when we will again stay with Mark at his superb guest house.

We loved our stay at Manayunk Chambers Guest House! Everything was clean and well equipped. I had talked with Mark about the extra bedding we would need and everything was there and ready for us. He also listened to our dietary needs and had all the specialty foods we needed, as well as his delectable home-baked goods for breakfast every morning. I will absolutely plan to stay there every time we're in town. It's so close to our Philadelphia family, that it's wonderfully convenient as well as wonderfully comfortable.

Manayunk Chamber and Mark are extraordinary! The breakfast and baked goods are truly unforgettable. We had a lovely time and felt so welcome and cozy. Everything is charming, comfortable, and clean. Excellent location to walk to Main St in Manayunk. Mark is an amazing host. He’s so fun to talk with and goes above and beyond to make everyone comfortable. Can’t wait to go back and stay again!

An excellent bed and breakfast with a breakfast that provides freshly baked goods and fresh fruit, prepared on-site by Mark. Mark is an excellent host and is very accommodating, he allowed us to drop off our bags and let us check in early once the room was cleaned (we had a super early flight arrival). If you are staying in Manayunk, everything is very walkable and public transportation is very close. This is the perfect place to launch your Philadelphia explorations from, you'll be so tired at the end of your days that you won't mind not having a TV....you'll just want to crash and do it all over again. I will definitely stay again when in the area.

Beautiful house located a short walk to Main Street and a short drive to Philadelphia. Mark was very helpful during our stay and his morning breakfasts were outstanding. Room was very comfortable. Guests have 24/7 access to coffee, water, beer, wine and snacks.

My husband and I stayed at Manayunk Chambers Guest House for the long weekend over President's Day. The bed and breakfast is beautiful restored, and Mark (our host) kept the sitting room as a lobby and lounge area, which made me feel like I was stepping back in time in the best ways. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable, and our bathroom had heated floors, a large clawfoot tub, and a separate shower. The best part of our stay was easily the breakfast. Mark bakes fresh pastries for all of his guests daily, and after returning home, I've found myself wishing I had a pocket Mark who would bake these delicious treats for me every day. The B&B is located a short walk from Manayunk's Main Street, which has a lot of small town charm with plenty of dining, drinking, and shopping options to choose from (I recommend The Goat's Beard for brunch). The train station is just off Main Street, and Center City is about a 20 minute train ride from Manayunk. When my husband and I go visit Philly again, we will definitely be staying at Manayunk Chambers Guest House!

The breakfast was the best I've ever had at any B&B (maybe ever). *Chef's kiss* to Mark! The location's great; right up the hill from the train stop and Main Street. The room was super comfy (the bathroom had heated floors!) and the ambiance was superb (don't forget to check out the scrap book when you're there). 5 stars 🤩

I recently stayed several nights at the Manayunk Chambers Guest House. It was a wonderful experience! The setting is a Victorian home that has been superbly restored. Mark is a stellar host who is meticulously attentive to detail and enhancing your stay. The room was a pleasure. The gem in my stay was each morning at breakfast. Mark is chef and baker who provides a healthy and delicious breakfast plate PLUS a basket of extraordinary, fresh-baked pastries - all of the gems. Together with fresh juice and a real espresso - and one is ready to face whatever that day holds. Thanks, Mark, for a great time!

I stayed here overnight after moving my daughter into her home for her last year of college. I couldn’t have picked a warmer, cozier, or peaceful place….run by wonderful people. It was relaxing and just what my soul needed. Mark is an amazing host and made me feel at home the minute I made the reservation. Mark went above and beyond …..excellent communication prior to arrival…welcomed me at the door and shared details of my stay (while sitting in the warm and inviting parlor loaded with interesting books, player piano, AND complimentary wine/beer/water)…..and woke up to an amazing breakfast (doesn’t hurt that Mark is a trained and seasoned baker/pastry chef). I will obviously be back and hopefully soon! Was hard to leave! Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough amazing things about our experience at the Manayunk Chambers. My wife and I stayed here for our wedding and were blown away with the room, the breakfast, and the graciousness/kindness of Mark (the owner). Mark went above and beyond to make our time special. We lived 3 minutes away for years and never knew this hidden gem existed, but will most certainly come back and tell all our friends and family to do the same.

If you want to feel like you are a special guest, I encourage you to stay at the Manayunk Chambers Guest House. You will be greeted by the owner as if you are a good friend and stay in a romantic room and a house with a combination of antiques yet comfort. We loved Manayunk with its many restaurants and little shops.

This is a fantastic little gem. The house is restored beautifully, the breakfast is light and delicious, and the location cannot be beat (a pleasant neighborhood with a small-town feel that's only a short train ride to Center City). Mark is a gracious and responsive host. We would be excited to go back at the first opportunity.

Such beautiful ambiance! The pastries were divine. The bed so comfy! I felt very cared for and it's like stepping back in time. Mark was lovely. Would certainly go back!

Mark is not just a wonderful host, a caring, kind soul genuinely active in this colorful community, but the man is also a damned magician in the kitchen. I can't recall the last time I've had such perfection in the pastry arts. If ever. Add to it a wonderful sense of humor and a deep understanding of all that is cool about the area, and I don't think you could ask for a better place to stay. Thanks so much again Mark!

I loved staying here! Mark was so attentive and easy to communicate with, he let us check in fairly early and made us feel welcome. The room was good, bed was comfy and bathroom was good. I loved the downstairs parlor, plenty of refreshments including multiple types of tea, seltzer and wine. Breakfast was lovely and you could tell it was homemade. My only small complaint was a few small areas of the room were a little dusty but that's easy to fix. Location was convenient to downtown manayunk and I found parking fairly easily at 2pm on a weekday. I'd 100% return! I can imagine in the winter it would feel extra cozy!

This is an attractive and comfortable B&B in a lively neighborhood with many restaurants and specialty stores. The room was very comfortable. The host, Mark, was attentive and helpful. His breakfasts were excellent, with delicious house-baked pastries. Parking is at a premium in the area, but overnight parking on Main St. (free between 8 PM and 9:30 AM) was plentiful and there are a few small parking lots that were not full. We highly recommend this place.

We loved our stay here! Mark was so hospitable and attentive, and was in great communication with us before and during our time there. The breakfasts he made us were phenomenal too! The house and room are beautiful, and it's situated right in the midst of a fun neighborhood with plenty to do.

Mark and Neal are the consummate hosts! My husband to-be and I stayed at Manayunk Chambers guest house the night before our wedding, which was nearby. From our first conversation, we knew we would be warmly welcomed and taken care of. Mark was super accommodating to our requests (our photographers and wedding planner wanted to meet us at the guest house) and added extra special touches that started our wedding day off so amazingly well! We will absolutely return to support these lovely gentlemen and their gorgeous guest house!

The Manayunk Chambers Guest House is a rare gem in the heart of Manayunk. The inn has been lovingly restored and both the public rooms and guest quarters were elegantly furnished. Mark is a trained chef and it shows. The breakfast was beautifully presented with fresh fruit and an assortment of delicious pastries all created by Mark. Thank you again, Mark. You are a delightful host!

This was a surprise mini-moon following our daughter’s COVID postponed wedding & it was amazing. Mark was fantastic to work with & prepared extra little surprises. The Guest House is charming, welcoming & super comfortable. The breakfasts beyond delicious (we got a few leftover pastries). The location is fabulous, so much to do & easy to access to walking trails, hiking, shopping, eating & drinking. Our daughter & son-in-law loved everything about their stay at Manayunk Chambers. This was the perfect end to a lovely wedding weekend. Can’t wait to stay there myself & hope to fill the entire guest house with family & friends someday. We will book again. A true gem. PS They went above & beyond to keep everyone safe in this coming-out of pandemic world. So go, you’ll be glad u did.

We recently celebrated an anniversary at the Chambers Guest House and couldn't have been happier with our stay. It's a gorgeous, stately home with clean accommodations and filled with antiques and bright art. Former professional chef and host, Mark, made us a delectable breakfast including freshly baked scones and muffins. It's just a few blocks from charming Main street and we visited record stores, coffee shops, vintage clothing stores and numerous other places. We also loved our long hike on the scenic Manayunk Towpath along the Schuylkill River. After we checked out Sunday we stopped at the Barnes Museum in Philadelphia. Mark was super helpful, friendly and charming and made our stay memorable and fun.

I stayed at Manayunk Chambers Guest House for a few nights while visiting my daughter who lives in the area. I could not have been more pleased with my stay! My room was full of warm homey touches and I was very comfortable in the space. Mark was a kind and generous host - and a FABULOUS pastry and breakfast chef! I was a bit needy on my visit - from arriving early, needing wrapping paper and working in my room. Mark helped me with everything - none of this seemed to phase him and he made it all work for me. I need to say a bit more about the breakfast - the baked goods were fabulous and breakfast was so enjoyable. Mark would visit a bit and was willing to share some of his cooking trade secrets. His chocolate and marshmallow scones were out-of-this-world! The location is great too. You can get to Main Street Manayunk in just a few minutes on foot. Manayunk if full of fun restaurants and places to shop. Thanks again for having me, Mark!

Mark was a wonderful host, attention to detail was superb. The continental breakfast was delicious and that is an understatement. The property is and our room was gorgeous. Definitely going back again.

The Manayunk Chambers Guest House is a beautifully restored old house (check out the scrapbook in the main room) situated in the hills of Manayunk. Our host, Mark, greeted us and filled us in on the history of the house and the local area. We booked the City Room on the second floor, which is extremely comfortable, with a king cushy bed, seating, and its own separate bathroom with a shower and a soaking tub. There are no TVs or children, which was fine by us - on our 30th Anniversary, we appreciate peace and quiet. The neighborhood is relatively quiet, as well. I can't say enough about the breakfasts! Mark is a former baker, and he still keeps his oven busy. Each day we had an assortment of croissants, scones, and muffins, along with unlimited coffee and tea. First day was a bowl of beautifully presented fruit, nuts and whipped cream, and next day was a fruit crepe - delicious! Mark is quite a conversationalist, and the breakfast chatter was very much appreciated. I don't think he could have done anything else to make our stay wonderful. When in Manayunk, please consider the Manayunk Chambers Guest House!

This would easily have been a five star rating, if not for the parking situation. Mark did a wonderful job securing parking for us when we arrived. We really appreciated that! The home and the rooms are amazing! Everywhere you look are works of art, wonderful antique furniture and every imaginable lovely thing you can imagine to look at. Lovely player piano provides gentle ambiance. The most amazing thing about our stay, however was breakfast. It turns out that Mark is a genius level pastry chef. He timed the fresh made-from-scratch pastries to be warm from the oven when we sat down. Every one was amazing! Perfect texture and flavor. I never knew that a humble blueberry muffin could be so good! Bread, croissants, scones were the best I’ve had. We were very satisfied but surprised to find that was just the first course! there was a second plate of fresh fruits with delicious berries inside a freshly made crêpe. in hindsight, I am very glad we were not able to select the hot breakfast option. This, (standard!) “continental” breakfast was over the top all by itself!

We stayed with Mark and it was lovely. At first he was freaked out by us as we travel heavy and are afraid to parallel park but as weekend unwinded, would never stay anywhere else. Mark is the most amazing proprietor, his property and amenities are lovely, but the kicker is the breakfast where he serves you home baked pastries as a former chef and instructor! He placed a lovely bouquet in our room for my 17 year old daughter. Highly impressed and lovely man. Exercise up The hills of the street but all worth it. Absolutely would come back! Let’s support local owners Luke Mark. That Is what Manayunk is all about. Thanks, Jeanna.

If I could put 10 stars here I would! It was definitely such a great experience. Mark was very very hospitable from the moment we walked in the door to when we checked out. He made sure we were comfortable and having a good time. Don’t even get me started on the breakfast! Freshly baked pastries and bread in the morning, along w the mixed berry crepes, I was looking forward to it and Mark delivered! My boyfriend and I will definitely be going back. You really feel “at home” in this place. 10/5!

Manayunk Chambers Guest House is a charming and beautifully kept gem just seconds from Manayunk's Main Street. Mark, one of the owners, and breakfast chef extraordinaire, made our stay so warm and personal, it felt like visiting an old friend (who can bake the most delectable breakfast pastries I have ever had in my life). From the art on the walls, to the comfy beds, to the INCREDIBLE breakfasts, the stay was perfect. Thank you so much for making the first leg of our honeymoon perfect- we will surely be back soon!

We had stayed here before, so decided to stop by here for an overnight stay before driving home. And as I remembered, everything was great. The room was spacious (sweet heart suite), the bed was very comfortable. There was a heater in the room but we didn’t need to use it. The bathroom is lovely. Even had a hand held shower that i loved. Mark met us and gave us an orientation of the newer stuff put in place since our last visit like the fob!! Lots of water, bottled or not, teas, coffee (keurig and espresso machines) soft drinks, wine , beer & snacks + fruit available if you need it, on the house. Mark bakes fresh items for breakfast and provides a basket of an assortment of scones etc at your table. The crepe was delicate and delicious. Mark very sweetly provided us with a packet to take the rest of the baked items we didn’t eat for our journey. He even brought to go cups for us to take coffee with us for the road. However, I did miss the eggs and parfait we had on 2 previous visits. Parking can be a pain, but Mark held a spot so we could use it. All in all a lovely stay. Most comfortable and super clean. Will definitely stay here again if visiting Philly again.

We spent a fun filled long weekend here and just adored our host. The place is immaculately well kept. The rooms are fairly small without a large amount of closet space. The service is perfect. They go above and beyond to take care of their guests. The breakfast was delicious, homemade granola, magical muffins and delicious coffee. The location was perfect for us. A couple blocks from Main St. An easy walk when you are going down from the guest house to Main St. It’s a lot more challenging on the way up! Definitely would go back.

This review is way overdue! We stayed at Manayunk Chambers Guest House when we went to look at Philly colleges for our then-senior. Mark was a great host. The house is gorgeously appointed and was a luxurious oasis in the middle of a great neighborhood. And breakfast was excellent! Our daughter chose an area school so we will definitely be back!

My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere in Philly that had breakfast and free parking. We hit the jackpot when we found the Manayunk Chambers Guest House. It checked the boxes for both requirements, but it was *so much more*. Mark, the "face" of the B&B and Neal, a more "behind the scenes" operator, are warm, friendly people who embody a wonderful mix of modern savvy and old-world chivalry. We arrived at the end of a 1,000-plus-mile road trip and I was wiped out! Accordingly, it warmed my heart that they both, at varying moments, offered to carry my suitcase up/down stairs. We also enjoyed lively conversation with each of them. Fun! When we had booked the room, we asked if there were any discounts such as AAA or seniors. Mark does not offer such perks as a rule, but a look at his calendar allowed him to give us 10% off. To our delight, when we checked in, he offered us an upgrade at no additional charge. What a mensch! We booked the Parisienne Suite, but with the upgrade ended up in the City Suite, which was marvelous. The bed was so comfortable, I almost didn't make it down to the parlor to partake of the ample selection of wines/beers/sodas and snacks. But I couldn't pass up that opportunity... Nor should anyone who stays there. It is thoroughly relaxing and peaceful. Before calling it a night, I immersed myself at length in the soaking tub, which removed any tension that might have been left. After a sound snooze, my day began with, perhaps, the funkiest shower I've ever taken. I can't tell a lie. I was like a little kid changing the settings to make water come out of different spouts. It was a ton of fun and I'd have liked to take the shower home with me, but it didn't fit in my luggage... Breakfast—peach crepes with yogurt, fruit and granola; cappuccino and a basket of homemade pastries—was artfully presented, healthy and delicious. Does it get better than that? As a matter of fact, it does, because conversation with Mark and his other guests was also completely engaging. And with its independent shops and restaurants, Manayunk is an adorable area with something for everyone. From start to finish our stay at Manayunk Chambers Guest House was a salve for body and mind. Thank you so much, Mark and Neal. We can't wait to come back again.
