This is the third time I've been there and the third time was not the charm my lettuce looked like it was almost rotten and there was no flavor to it. Glad I didn't bite into before I came home I would've been mad. Come on guys you gotta do better and it was early too. Won't be going back. You have to love what you do when you are in the kitchen. My cheese steak will run circles around them. The other photo is me doctoring it up so I could eat it. I used to work at MetLife Stadium and had the best cheese steak stand in the stadium so yeah I know a little about cooking and preparing to make you want more. Last photo is after I finished hooking it up.

Tony and Nick’s is a fantastic establishment in the South of Philadelphia. It has tremendous customer service and exquisite cheese steak. I highly recommend a cheese steak with onions and cheese wiz. The flavoring changed my view on food and my perception of American cuisine. I would like for the napkins to be of higher quality, but it didn’t affect my experience.

Even if you have never been there before, Tony Luke's instantly gives you that childhood nostalgia of good foodie vibes. I got the cheese steak (obviously) 'with wiz' and fried onions. Every bite was perfect and it had the perfect mix of greasy and savory you want in each bite. I thought having the option to add cherry peppers (condiments side bar) was a nice touch! My gripes: there was a long line (to be expected at a good place, but as you know I hate lines), no silverware on the side to cut my cherry peppers and personally I felt there could have been slightly more meat on the sandwich. What I loved: the bread (perfect), the atmosphere (very cheesesteaky) and the actually sandwiches perfect bite was top notch. I didn't drink so I won't rate drinks. Price wise it was reasonable and worth it. Overall I give Tony Luke's a 4.3 out of 5. A South Philly must eat!

We ordered the steak with jalapeño cheese and the pork sandwich. Hands down the pork was the best. They drench it in their drippings which made it so juicy and flavorful. We came 8 min before they closed at 10. Just in time! Make sure you get there before then because they were turning people away soon as 10pm hit.

I was expecting an extraordinary cheese steak and it was quite average; I had even made it a mandatory stop on my trip to Philadelphia but it didn't impress. They are good but not insurmountable. The customer service was quite poor. To refill soda they charge you $1

Steak and cheese was very good. The one gentleman worker was enthusiastic and a great help getting everyone side condiments while providing a great work ethic. Fries were awesome we had the salt and vinegar

One of the best spots to get a cheesesteak in the city of brotherly love. Not in South Philly as much but whenever I am, I'm getting a Tony Luke's. The line always moves fast. The people they have at the register taking the orders know their stuff.

I went here with my cousin when I was in town doing a speaking engagement. We ordered two sandwiches and split time. Both tasted amazing. Thank You 😊

I’ve had my fair share of cheesesteaks in and around the Philly area, and this is my favorite thus far. My buddies came here on a Saturday prior to a Phillies game and it did not disappoint. I got the Wit Wiz option, which is the go to in Philly. The line was long, but they moved with such efficiency that it didn’t take long at all to get our food. The roll was nice, brown and crispy on the outside but perfectly soft on the inside. They had the perfect ratio of steak, onions and cheese. I had absolutely no complaints with this cheesesteak.

The chicken parm was so good my kids wanted it in her lunch. The chicken cheesesteak was really good as it was not ground chicken but whole tenders. Love the roast pork Italian special with spinach and sharp provolone.

LOOK AT THAT CHEESE PULL! LETS GO! This place went hard. It was my third Philly cheese steak stop and my favorite! The bread is phenomenal. Everything is cooked to order which i really appreciate. Parking is great! And the port a potty? One of the cleanest I’ve ever been in HAHA!

Pretty good and part of the authentic Philadelphia experience, but our group found the meat underseasoned. Be forewarned and be prepared, it's quite messy to eat, but come on, you have to try it if you're going to visit Philly. Be ready to order, there's lots on the menu. Funny to see people parking in the middle of the street to stop by here.

OH EM GHEE. My husband had the cheesesteak which he said was the best he has had, he's had one from just about everywhere. This chicken parm was incredible. Best I ever had and exactly what I was looking for in a chicken parm.

Lots of American history in Philadelphia which includes Tony and Nick's home of the original Tony Luke's. Very friendly and excellent delicious authentic Philly cheese steaks!

My husband and I took a weekend trip to Philadelphia specifically to try cheese steaks. Tony and Nick’s made the list of must try places. We arrived about 20 minutes before they opened and there was already a line outside. We each ordered a cheese steak with onions and American cheese on the new seeded rolls. This sandwich definitely ranks in my top 3. I loved the seeded roll and the onions were nicely sweet. It was, however, the smallest of the cheese steaks we ordered. I would definitely visit again!

Philadelphia is famous for their cheese steak sandwiches so we just have to give this place a try. There are plenty of free street parking outside. We ordered 3 sandwiches for 4 people to share. The sandwich was 9.5" each and costs around $12.5. Since we didn't eat the sandwiches right away, they weren't super hot. I bet they taste much better eating them right away. We ordered cheese steak hoagie, old fashioned pizza steak and steak italian. All were very good but I wish I can taste the cheese a bit more. My favorite was cheese steak hoagie. And don't forget to get the pepper side!

SO YUMMY! Definitely get a cheesesteak with whiz and banana peppers. I love their bread - perfect crunch/chewy ratio. The birch beer is also so good! The people that work there are always nice. The only physical menu is where you place your order so look up their website menu while in line if you think you'll want anything besides the cheesesteak. Also pro tip: you're in a hurry, order online since they make everything to order and it takes some time.

Don't get me wrong this is a fantastic place to eat. My only issue is that the sandwiches are typically very soggy which includes the bread. I enjoy it with whiz and mushrooms. I've taken a Philly cheesesteak tour of Philadelphia and they are one I would go to again. I enjoy the steaks and the cheese fries.

Really good PCS overall. One of the juiciest ones we’ve came across so far. Price is really good for the portion as well. $10.75 for a hoagie. Cant beat it. Also, grabbed the steak, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich…this thing was huge. Not your typical breakfast sandwich, but I’m not complaining. Definitely give them a try! Was not one of the best but not the worst i believe they just put too many peppers n onions. The staff were friendly. No bad attitude. Inside was clean. Would try them again.

Had to get a cheese steak while in the city and this was the one we decided to try based on our travels. I got the regular cheese steak with onions and sharp provolone and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a large sandwich and very flavorful and filling. Had an order of curly fries with it but they were mediocre and I wouldn't recommend those. Service was fast and friendly.

Easily one of the best chicken cutlets I've had! The broccoli rabe was sauteed perfectly, the bread wasn't soft, and the cutlet was nice and crunchy. Also snagged some onion rings but they have a ton of side options. Next time I stop in, I'll be giving the steaks a try. Solid atmosphere with spots to sit inside.

I loved Tony Luke's and this is my first time visiting since the name change and drove 15 minutes out of the way to get. I got the roast pork on a seeded roll with white American cheese. This was the spiciest sandwich I've ever eaten in my entire life. I don't know if there was a mistake with the pepper or someone was being specifically mean by adding a ton ton of pepper but I couldn't even eat it because my mouth was on fire. And by the time I went one block the entire roll was soggy and falling apart. I hope this was an isolated incident and will try one more time again in the future .

Had the Philly cheese steak with pepper jack and peppers. Delicious hot food! Curly fries were great too. This is a place you must stop at when you visit south philly

This is a good place with good prices I don't eat beef so it was nice they offer chicken cheese steak as opposed to Geno's and Pat's that only sell beef. I hope I can emulate something similar to their cheesesteak at home, I'd go again . . .

Solid cheese steak! Dig the seeded roll, too. Top 5 on my list. The lady who took our order was super nice as well.

The cheesesteak was really good. Added mushrooms, sweet peppers, and cheese wiz. Messy but delicious. Parking lot near there, also street parking. Near South Bowl, so you could easily do dinner and bowling

  • 4/5 Bill M. 6 months ago on Google
Great cheesesteaks. The rolls were absolutely amazing. Almosy as good as the more famous cheesesteak joints in philly. The only thing holding me back from a full 5 star review is that the meat was a bit on the bland side, but it was still good. If you are looking to try something other than the other big cheesteaks joints, u really can't go wrong here. They were really busy and moved people through at a steady pace. Great staff.

The star of the show, the menu, showcased an impressive selection of Philly cheese sandwiches that catered to diverse preferences. Whether you're a traditionalist seeking the classic combination of steak, melted cheese, and onions, or an adventurous foodie looking to explore unique flavor combinations, there's something for everyone here. When it comes to taste, Philly Cheese Sandwich sandwich truly excelled. The sandwiches were masterpieces of flavor and texture. The cheese was perfectly melted and gooey, while the meat was tender and full of flavor. The bread was fresh, soft, and had just the right amount of crustiness. Each bite was a heavenly blend of savory and rich flavors that left my taste buds dancing with delight. The portions were generous, ensuring that you get your fill and leave with a contented smile. Considering the quality of the ingredients and the overall dining experience, I found it to be reasonably priced. The portion sizes were substantial, and the prices were comparable to other restaurants of similar caliber. You certainly get excellent value for your money, especially when considering the superb taste and quality of the dishes.

First time trying Tony & Nicks and it was delicious. Philly with American was 10/10. The lady who took my order in the morning was really nice too. Highly recommend!!

I hate giving low reviews but I do believe it helps the companies with QC. I ordered a sausage sandwich NOT what I expected see picture. More like a hot dog. Also, chicken cheese steak has little flavor to it. The staff were not the friendliest, maybe a smile will help. Price is reasonable, eating area is good. Ok update. Could not eat. Myself and wife are so disappointed, in the trash they went.

I had never been there before, but dang was this worth it. Every bite was the perfect mixture of steak, whiz, and onions. I wish I would have ordered another instead of curly fries. My buddy had the roast pork and loved it. *Bonus*: they have Nehi Orange Soda!

  • 4/5 Matthew M. 10 months ago on Google
The roast pork sandwich was delicious with good flavor. The steak and cheese was decent, though I would have appreciated a bit more steak in my sandwich. The sandwich itself was a little smaller than I expected as well. Definitely not as good as John's Roast Pork, but since they were closed we tried this place out. Pricing was okay.

1st time visiting Philly? I definitely recommend stopping in to get a Cheesteak from here. If you're not a native, I would suggest to get cheese whiz on the side so you can still try it (it's pretty good 😊). There is limited seating, but people don't usually spend too much time inside.

  • 5/5 Deborah M. 1 year ago on Google
Philly landmark. Good and fast. I wish there was a little more seating since we sat in the car but not going to downvote since Covid and not knowing Phillys Covid policies. You get a good portion. And there’s nothing like a cheesesteak in Philly. Bread meat and cheese just hit different here!

Small restaurant with huge flavors! A must visit! Something for everyone! With da wiz or without! Great staff, always smiling and super friendly! If you get a chance to dine in take it but be aware tables are hard to get at certain times!

  • 4/5 Kevin S. 1 year ago on Google
I will have to come back and try it without cheese whiz (I'm not a Philly native). I have honestly never had it and I wasn't a fan. Other than that the bread was perfect and the steak was very tasty. Was much better after I got some peppers and a little hot sauce. Not bad for my first Philly cheese steak but I feel like there is room for improvement.

The OG, it's not broken so it won't get fixed. Always enjoying a cheesesteak from Tony Luke's. If your worried about children the chicken fingers are amazing as well so they are covered.

  • 3/5 David J. 1 year ago on Google
Eh. Good steak, part of the original cheesesteak houses but it’s covered outside picnic table seating - no inside and no ac. Critically, no bathrooms outside of a porta potty that was totally gross and had no sanitizer let alone a place to wash your hands.

  • 5/5 iAm C. 1 year ago on Google
Glad I stubbled on this place when I stopped for gas. Line was almost out the door so I figured it had to be good. I had a disaster cheesesteak experience the day before at another place. So this made up for it. Should've got more than 1

  • 5/5 Terri C. 2 years ago on Google
Delicious and will be back! Couldn’t have been a better first visit. Parking lot right next to the location. Everything was amazingly clean and they were very busy with a line down the street. The efficiency was impressive. And the cheesesteaks were amazing! Keep up the good work.

  • 5/5 Antonia L. 2 years ago on Google
This was our First time here and it did not disappoint!!! We got 1 Cheesesteak with Cheez Wiz and the other with provolone cheese and both of our sandwiches were delicious!!! The fries were perfect and the staff was super friendly and very helpful! The dining area was very clean and there was hardly any wait.

  • 5/5 Chris B. 2 years ago on Google
Fast friendly service. Cheesesteaks are good but I got their Italian roast pork with broccoli rab and sharp provolone. Best roast pork in town.

  • 4/5 Riazul P. 2 years ago on Google
A bit underwhelming. May be I didn't pick the right combination of cheese and condiments for my Philly Cheese Steak. But that beef was definitely delicious.

  • 5/5 Chrissie S. 2 years ago on Google
What can I say about this place other than.. It was incredible. I got the Cheesesteak with Whiz, peppers, and onions and the Roast Pork with spinach and sharp provolone. Both sandwiches were amazing but the pork was the best overall! Also loved the pickle bar! Totally worth the trip down South for the original location!
