Location is great at old albay areas where you have easy access to church, restaurants, public transpo, and many more. The service was very nice, and thanks to Gerson for always helping us. The food is limited on breakfast but there are a lot of restaurants nearby. The rooms are great and nice. We enjoyed ourselves a lot. The Internet speed is fast and good for working from home

We (3 people) stayed in a room there and it was just perfect!! AC is working good and bathrooms are really modern. Also everything is clean. We also used the TV in the common room (you are also able to cool drinks in a fridge there). Netflix is included!! So enjoy your stay here! ☺️

Really cosy and cute little hotel. Stayed in a family room. It was immaculately clean, two showers, balcony full of plants, well maintained, with completely silent A/C. One of the rare places that look even better in reality than they do in photos. Staff is very welcoming and Mr. Gerson does great job at helping arranging transport or suggesting places to see. Pleasant surprise and great value.

Our small family stayed in Balai Tinay from Aug. 21-25, 2023. And I am just so grateful that we find this place. Since my husband needs to work remotely and will be in a series of meetings, our non negotiable requirement for our accomodation is fast internet. And Balai Tinay had over 200 mbps. Did not encounter any connectivity problem during our stay. The moment we entered the place, automatically we felt home. The place is very welcoming, cozy, surrounded with plants, and the common areas dining & living areas are very spacious. When you wake in the morning when sky is clear, Mayon Volcano is a view to behold. Our family room is very clean and beds are very comfortable. The t&b is really nice and water is in abundant supply with hot shower. We also have our own balcony. Most of all, we love the place because of the people who took care of us while we were there. Hats off to Gerson for always being very attentive to us and always ready to assist us in all our requests. Thank you too to Tita Jin for welcoming us just like we were her friends and relatives. Thank you for the stories shared and for making us feel at home while we were there. When we go back to Legazpi City we will surely choose you again.

Really nice guesthouse, well maintained. We stayed there 3 nights in the family room. Flowers and plants everywhere, nice views of the surroundings on the last floor and ideally located (2 minutes away from Old Albay main street, in a more silent area). Room was cozy and very clean, with a silent ceiling fan and a powerful hvac unit. Best asset of this modest but great place: its host, Gerson, thoughtful and very considerate! What else could you ask for a pleasant stay? ;) Note: if arriving from Bicol international airport, be sure to plan for your transportation as the airport is now quite far from Legazpi and negotiating prices is not always easy when there is a shortage of taxi/tricycles there...

Great value for money. Everything was very clean. The room and CR were well thought out. There's even a Mi Stick in the TV with access to Netflix. The common area has free coffee and water. You can also buy beer from the common area at reasonable prices. Breakfast is also available at P150/pax. The staff, Kuya Gerson, and the owner are very friendly and helpful. The upstairs lanai is a nice place to chill with lots of greenery. Location is near the main road though requires a walk along the estero which can get a bit muddy.

Amazed at how this cozy place has become more cozy. They have free drinking water, cold and hot. They have wide well ventilated common area, and looking forward to visit here again, and perhaps to enjoy their pocket garden soon. This is home away from home. Happy to see sir Joe again after five years.

A little hard to get there, small alleys going to the place but they have good parking space

Balai Tinay is a tastefully appointed guesthouse in the picture-perfect city of Legazpi. The rooms are kept tidy and come with free Wi-Fi and toiletries. You may help yourself to unlimited drinking water and coffee in the super cozy dining room-cum-living area, where guests are served an appetizing breakfast every morning. Did I mention that Small Talk Cafe, Bigg's Diner, Jollibee, and Robinson's Supermarket are a short stroll from the guesthouse? You won't have trouble finding Balai Tinay, because most tricycle drivers are familiar with the place.

This guesthouse has been a home away from home to me. It has served as my perfect isolation for 2 nights to recuperate from flu and jetlag. The place is calm, spacious and beautifully decorated with traditional motifs, not to mention plenty household plants. Check out time is 12nn but we were allowed to get extended check out time to accommodate late departure time. Highly recommend this place if ever you want to visit Legazpi City.

The gues house facilities were top-notch. The fitness center was well-equipped with state-of-the-art machines, and I appreciated the option to maintain my workout routine during my stay. The rooftop pool and lounge area were a true highlight. I spent hours relaxing by the pool, enjoying the stunning views while sipping on refreshing cocktails served by the attentive poolside staff.

Great place to stay when at Legazpi City. Easy to access the capital, restaurants, shops and located in a private and peaceful environment. Would stay here again when deciding to go to Bicol again. Very friendly and welcoming hosts from the guest house.

2023 review Almost everything was good, location was a bit cramped, it's in a one lane street, you can maybe fit 2 small cars but not 2 SUVs, they do have ample parking in front of the property enough for 6 cars at max. Breakfast was a choice between longanisa and tocino, both with egg and rice, they were okay. the property also offers alcoholic drinks as well. Rooms were spacious and had their own bathrooms so you didn't have to worry about sharing with other people. Keep in mind that there are also other guests, so they maybe noisy. The property is 10 minutes away from SM legazpi, if you do decide to stay here, buy the supplies and eat before you check in, less hassle in getting in and out of the street. SM legazpi has VERY FEW parking slots, if you decide to go there, they have valet parking, it saves time. Disliked Β· The caretaker was a very serious guy, he could've smiled more. I also felt a tad unwelcome when talking to him, but it was okay since he did his job properly.
