Service was good. Especially since they are still recovering from Odette. The food is fine, the drinks are great. The food service a bit sliw and servers need additional training. The hotel service team is 5 stars. The pool is excellent and maintained perfectly. No strong chlorine or harmful chemical smell, perfectly balanced.

Nice family hotel, with 2 pools (with also deeper parts, which is nice and rather rare these days) and direct sea access with a small nice sandy beach. Staff were friendly and the restaurant served really delicious food. Transfer to airport, city, etc. is offered at a competitive price as well. Rooms are in traditional Filipino style, and may benefit from some better ventilation at times.

Relatively small (versus the other hotels in the Lapulapu area), but very cozy. Nice beach area. Two pools, one with a slide, one for adults over five feet. Rooms are five star! Very nice beds and room design over all. Majority of the food they serve is Filipino.

If you're mostly into pools and not into sea swimming then this place is for you. They have very nice pools. The beachfront and sea immediate to the property did not look very appealing last time we came. Service is good. The food is good too. If you're with a large group, I suggest you skip the buffet and order a la carte. You'll have better food choices for roughly the same price, if not cheaper.

Overall I enjoyed my stay here, there were a few pricey things though, and I wish they would let guests take the free kayaks OUTSIDE the swimming area! But I would stay again. Friendly, helpful staff and comfortable rooms. Nice private beach and ocean views (when the tide is in.)

Costabella is an oasis close to the busy Cebu city and minutes from the International airport. The property is in a quiet area away from the congested streets. Safe and serene place. Rooms are in good shape. Plenty of amenities and the staff and very friendly, professional and pleasant. The pools are in great shape and the beach has activities.

This hotel is difficult to review. The resort is a little tired, but clean. The beds were very firm, but still very comfortable. The eating options are OK, but so many better places outside. Getting outside is the challenge though, you really can't walk anywhere easily. The rooms are clean, but don't look too close before you see signs of age, rust, peeling paint, and struggling appliances. Still, we enjoyed our Sunrise Suite. The No Left Over sign in the breakfast buffet is disconcerting and I've never seen that, especially threatening a 'fine'. The biggest frustration with this hotel is their ridiculous and over zealous entrance and exit monitoring. You can't leave or return to the hotel without getting asked your room number etc. I even just went for a quick morning walk and was asked. I get it coming into a resort, but leaving seems crazy. Would we return, probably not, but it was a nice enough stay, mainly due to the room.

This resort was our landing site when we arrived to Cebu, it not only help us to adjust from North American time to Philippines, but the staff were world class! The food was extraordinary, the location was secure and secluded enough to feel that you were not actually in the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable, if you had a need the staff were there to help. There is a spa on site, gift shop, children's area, swimming pool, full restaurant, bar, and yes real coffee. This is one place that if I can get back to, I will be happy to visit.

Costabella is indeed a must for vacationers or even casual visitors. The place is good for relaxing. They have a pool and beach. They have a new building which probably has better rooms (we were in the old wing when we visited). I cannot complain about the food because I had a satisfactory dining experience. Staff were friendly and approachable. I would definitely go back here for vacation and I totally recommend this hotel.

Old hotel that could be a little spruced up. The rooms aren’t bad but the balcony door was difficult to open and mound could easily be seen around the back and in the bathroom. The resort isn’t terribly large which can be good for kids although staff seem to allow some guests mostly Korean to use powered water toys in the pool which frequently hit guests making a nuisance and nothing was done, these really belong in the ocean or in a quiet pool but we’re frankly a danger to others. The food wasn’t great and breakfast service was a challenge as the F&B manager seemed to lack any coordination regarding table seating and availability so you find two or three people on a seven person table leaving larger groups spread out unnecessarily. The bar wasn’t bad and cocktails were better than the food. Towel control cards leave a feeling of mistrust but we noted other resorts here in the island adopting the same approach. Beach was small but acceptable. Not bad as resorts go

I've been to this resort twice and my experiences were great. The pool and the beach are pretty okay. The rooms are fine too, although might need a little more improvement or maintenance. The prices for the rooms and foods are pretty reasonable.

The best beach hotel. Budget friendly, the food is scrumptious and affordable. The staff are very helpful and courteous also. There is a corkage though for every food brought. Over all, it was a nice experience. I will definitely be coming back with my family.

Quaint hotel that has made many improvements over the years. It's great for families with small children as there's not a lot of places they can wander off too and a pool and beach may be sufficient entertainment for the kids. They've got small play areas as well and water sports are offered as far as I recall.

The resort is very luxurious, clean, the staff are very friendly and tge service is really fast. The food is delicious. 5/5 stars. It is not very far from the nearest supermarket, just 5min drive. And even if you don't have a car rented, the taxi/ tricycle are very cheap.

This place snuck up on me. I've never stayed here before and it really was a refreshing surprise because a Filipino's idea of a resort is far different from a Westerner's idea. It isn't expensive and the service is very good. A special shout out yo Mark and the dining crew because they were simply marvelous people to chat with. The food was extraordinary and Mark is a wonderful bartender. I will definitely tell anyone looking for a good place to visit, to visit this place in Mactan Cebu. I know that I certainly will. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that if you're a smoker, you have to go to the smoking room behind the reception area or pay 2500 php or approximately $50.00 to smoke in your room or on your balcony. Many amenities was closed because they were still recovering from a signal 4 typhoon just 30 days prior but should be fully functioning within the next 30 days.

Amazing stay from start to finish! Rooms and balcony were lovely with a fantastic view of the pool and beach. Two pools were great and even a slide. Food was fantastic we ate here the whole time we spent in Cebu. Breakfast was so much choice and the French toast was my favourite! Menu had a wide range of choices and we particularly enjoyed their chicken abodo, we also got room service one night as we had been on a day trip and was very tired and it was cooked and delivered very quick! We also had a packed breakfast as we was going on a day trip and leaving before breakfast started. They gave us so much and it was delicious! Bar was nice with a large choice of cocktails with a pool table and darts board. Service was outstanding, staff so attentive and extremely polite. Would definitely come and stay here again if we come back to Cebu! Thank you for such a lovely stay!

This resort was awesome. Room was not too big but was comfortable and clean. Resort is not so big making it easier to walk around. There are two swimming pools and a great private beach with free kayak and stand-up paddle. If you want to do island hopping tour, the hotel provided it at a great price, cheaper than everywhere I looked online. Only negative was the food from the restaurant that definitely needs improvement, but breakfast was very good.

Amazing resort tucked away from craziness & traffic noise. When you're at the resort it has rain forest vibe which I liked. There breakfast is 4 out of 5, drinks selection is 3.5, alcoholic drinks is 5 out 5, beach access very good...is just steps away 5 out 5, resort amenities to include there fun activities is 4.5 it can better and always a room for improvement. Overall, amazing resort and the cost or pricing of everything room, food & drinks are fair enough. Not expensive at all plus if you're on vacation don't worry spending...enjoy & have a great time, not to be stress!! The rooms can be better as well, I have the pool side 2nd floor view not bad...you can have ocean view still. I highly recommend this resort and for sure, I will stay here again. To all Costabella employee's, thank you for the hospitality & kindness. I had a wonderful time at this resort!

I really enjoyed my stay but I cannot quite stretch to a five-star rating and I will tell you why. But first I'll tell you the things that I liked. Service was excellent across the board. Spa services were relatively pricey for the Philippines, but very well done. Breakfast was awesome. Lunch and dinner menu items were good although I recommend avoiding their take on a hamburger LOL. With one very notable exception, my room was very nice. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this property or stay there again myself. Overall value for money I would rate as very good. The reasons I cannot quite stretch to five stars are (1) although my room was clean and nice, the shower was riddled with black mildew in much of the grout and looked disgusting. I cannot imagine why a property of this caliber would not go to the trouble of cleaning that up. The only word for it is GROSS. (2) The beach area is small and very shallow, so at low tide there's no swimming or even wading, and it is not appealing to look at. Much better at high tide although the water remains quite shallow in most of the little bay and the only good swimmable part is farthest from shore. Nothing to be done about that, it is what it is, but to give a resort five stars I would need a nicer bit of beach. In compensation for that, the two swimming pools were nice and well maintained. As I said before, despite these two negatives I really enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to go again.

Nice beachfront. Wide range of breakfast buffett choices. Clean pool. Friendly and helpful staff. All off these, we have experienced at Costabella Resort. Although its a small resort, I even like it better because of its exclusivity and privacy. Although the rooms we had was small, it was beautifully designed and decorated. The toilet was spacious too, and the shower was enclosed so the water is contained too.

This is my second stay at Costabella. The people who work at Costabella are so nice..That place is spotless..Its beautiful like a garden surrounded by a hotel..Small private beach.. The architecture and attention to the smallest detail is astonishing. Costabella is a peaceful place.. The staff are professionals and so cool.. Thanks to everyone there for giving me a beautiful place to come to.

One of a kind experience. I loved how it was still serene even with a couple of families and group of friends were present. Surroundings were always clean. The rooms we stayed in was very big and cozy. Design is also top-tier, interior and exterior. Loved the classic wood + stone look. We had the best calamares I've ever tasted in La Marina Restaurant. All the food we had were very beautiful and tasty. We also had their breakfast buffet?? And delicious coffee?? ✨ We also had a chance to bike around the entrance part of the resort. Bikes were free to use for an hour. We really enjoyed it. All of the people working there are very very welcoming and courteous. Always smiling and kind. Everything is just perfect. This place is a must visit.

I was invited to stay overnight by friends. And I must say I was blown away by the courtesy of the staff, their readiness to be of help to me, and the room was impeccable. The beach was so nicely arranged. The sort of pond-enclosed sea-was so calm that I floated flat on my back without life vests or anything - and was able to say my daily rosary. Wow! I recommend this resort to the president of any country. Try it!

I felt inlove with the place. Accommodating staff and they are so kind. You have it all inside the resort, you better have a car because its bit far from everything. You will enjoy the secluded location of the resort.

No lift at our building. Restaurant OK. Private beach. Out room had bad view and no bancany. Good Breakfast. Packaging Breakfast available for early tours, but not great. It is noticible that the hotel has some age and needs some refurbishment.

Responsive, gracious, and friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast spread for nearly 1000 PHP per pax. The rooms are rustic and tastefully designed. Don't expect first class amenities or demand perfectly working fixtures. There are bicycles for rent, parasailing and snorkling packages, tours you can book. The view is fantastic.

Everything was perfect except the location. It is located a bit inside so kinda hard to call a cab but i got it quite easily anyway :) it is not that sophisticated but old and a bit classy. If you want a quiet place to feel the breeze from the sea, this is a perfect choice for you.

A decent hotel with two pools and "private beach" but where you can't swim, as it is shallow and full of weeds. However you can enjoy the sun on the deck chair. The staff was very responsive and always willing to accommodate your requests. All 5 stars in terms of service.

Great service, though slightly understaffed. This is a family friendly resort. I took this vacation with friends and our room was by the pool. Every morning we were awakened to children screaming by the pool or corporate events. The rooms were cleaned and stocked regularly. They also offer a host of activities and tours.

We stayed here after a long flight to recover before moving on to Cebu city. we were so pleased with our room and service that we extended our stay. This is the pefect place to take a break and spend some days by the pool with some nice cocktails. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Great place to bond with family and friends. Amenities are all fully working, such as the pools, the beach, and they also have bikes that guests can use for free. Staff is kind and are paying attention to detail. Overall an amazing place and I would likely be back in the future.

Amazing place to stay! We are not very used to this kind of resort but the experience was incredible. The staff is super nice, taking care of everything. The pool was not too crowded, same for the private beach. Everything is ultra clean as they are cleaning all the time which put the comfort to a next level. Breakfast is enormous, with a variety of salty / sweet things to eat. Restaurant for lunch / dîner is a bit expensive but really tasty.

Loved that the beach was private and easily accessible. My room was clean, spacious, and offered a beautiful view of the beach, sunrise/sunset from my balcony. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable of the area, and very responsive. I booked a massage, facial, and body scrub onsite at the spa. I highly recommend Apple! Everything was perfect! I left feeling like I stepped out heaven.

Loved staying here with my new wife. The pool area is very very clean and simply is the best. Top tip, if you want to swim in the sea, go early in the morning when the tide is out, then you can walk over the seaweed and swim and see the fish. They cooked the most beautiful salmon for my wife at dinner. I had the tuna and quite honestly the politeness of their staff is on another level. They really make you feel at home. I was particularly impressed with Brian who works in the restaurant. The morning breakfast was varied and delicious, you'd be hard pressed to not find something to eat there. Room is well air-conditioned, I prefer the knob units they have, they're much easier than digital actual. Bathroom is amazing and very modern. Really liked the ambience and lighting thru-out the hotel. It was the perfect romantic getaway and very safe.

Small, secluded, antique-y, homey feel. It’s dated but well-maintained. Very clean. I see staff cleaning around the pool at all times. Good sized rooms. Lush greenery. Direct access to beach. It’s a hidden gem. I am impressed. 4 stars because there was no lift in our building, stairs only.

I had amazing stay at Costabella. The location is amazing by the beach. You can take boat rides from the resort itself. The staff are very helpful and courteous. The service is prompt and makes you feel special. Food at the restaurant is great with customisation as per your ask for the items in menu.

Very lovely hotel and people working here! But we found restaurant not good enough for this price (very expensive!!), which makes life little bit difficult because delivery is not allowed and other places around are quite far away. So just consider you need to take taxi all the time you want to eat. But all other service is amazing! Kids corner, beach, pools all good

The resort is old and tired, perhaps once luxurious, now below average. Enjoyable for families with small children looking to sit by a pool all day and eat the same food daily, but for anyone wanting to explore the area and experience a real 4 star hotel, I’d look elsewhere. Cons: - miles from anywhere (1hr away from city centre) and the surrounding area is not welcoming nor suitable for tourists (5 mins by car) - food and drink is expensive, and not worthy of the price tag. - minimal water supplied, only one glass supplied at breakfast, and two tiny bottles of water per day in our room. Water is the bare minimum I expect from a resort. - the ‘beach’ is not a beach, it is a strip of sand with shallow water that is 90% covered in plants and seaweed. No swimming possible. - the rooms are underwhelming and nothing out of the ordinary, maintenance is due to be worthy of a ‘4 star hotel’ - rat spotted at poolside, and seen outside the massage room. Pros: - the staff are super friendly and welcoming, always smiling and willing to help where they can. I thank them immensely for keeping spirits up. - the breakfast selection has a large variety and everything was delicious, managed to have something different every day and was something to look forward to.

Rustic traditional Spanish style hotel in Mactan. Service is exemplary. Rooms are very rustic, and the door locks need upgraded. Nice beach access be careful of charges you might not be aware of. We enjoyed our family outings and I would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone.

The hotel is very nice, clean and organized. Nice swimming pools, there is a deeper one and one for children there is also a water slide. Free and supervised kids corner, very well maintained beach area with kids play area. There is a very nice spa, a very small gym, a bar and a adult relax/play area. The staff is always kind and polite. The rooms are not too "modern" but are quite spaceful with all the needed. Me and my family enjoyed our stay. Few negative sides are that the hotel is quite isolated. There is nothing walking distance. The hotel restaurant is very nice however the food is not great, just about average. Over the weekend is very loud, even with the window closed you can still hear the music until late at night. (I am not sure if it always like that but during our stay there was some local festivities going on in the nearby village)

I would say very good service, but hotel so worried about the image of luxury that they build walls so you cannot even see what's on the side because I guess it's less tidy... (still beatiful tho) Only smoking area is a tiny closed box of glass with full on aircon and... Unbelievable. And no elevator for rooms that are not "beach" view. And the beach is a tiny enclosed bit of beach in which you're not allowed to swim after 6pm.

The personal is amazing, the views are beautiful, the rooms are big and nice, restaurant and bar, no complains, the pool is amazing, the private beach is bad, but tbf, is the same in all the island. The star down is because the freaking bathtub is disgusting, gets easily cloaked, dude, clean it! don't tell to wait ppl to wait 30 minutes for watering down, don't get me wrong the place is clean, they maintain it, I'm happy even with that, and the attention is nice, but just that detail!!

  • 3/5 Basketball T. 1 year ago on Google
The pool is very well maintained and tidy. The maintenance crew and servers are very polite and pleasant in approaching the guests. The food was average and quite pricey. If you intend to have a big group and you wanted to save money better to buy outside anyway that is my opinion only. I would like to comment that the beach needs some maintenance as if you try to swim, there are plenty of sharp stones under the sea and just not clean properly. The room has good interior and quite spacious but you have to consider that the place has been there for years so some are a bit rusty. The crew did a great job of maintaining the place to make it clean and tidy. The aircon in our room had a leakage. We did report it to the management hopefully they fix it so it wont hassle another guest next time. We had the issue with the reception though. They were approachable and knowledgeable in what they do however I hope they do tell the guests ahead of time about their visitor’s policy in staying and the incur fees. We had misunderstanding about this and we have to sent our family member home as they only allow 5 person in a room. We have originally booked 2 person in a big room and we told them that on our last night before our flight we have family members to come but they did not inform us that they wont allow 5 people in a room. If we knew, we could have booked a room for them at the same time.
