Located in the heart of Mendiola in the midst of old universities. My to go to place during my college years. A place where traditions are still being observed despite all the modernisation that has shaped the lives of many millennials. Morning vespers before the community mass was something one has to experience where all the monks were present at the altar. It’s one of the churches that has retained the original look. They have ceiling fans since way back. They have an office on the right side upon entering the church where you can request mass for personal intentions. Available also is a small store of religious items where the famous St. Benedict medals are being sold. The church radiates with serenity that calms the soul.

The exterior looks nondescript, but the interior is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Entering the Abbey almost feels like entering the St. Peter's Basilica. It's amazing.

Sunday Mass starts at 10:30am. Very solemn. Enough parking space along Mendiola.

I was attending our Golden Jubilee Homecoming. It was awesome how chapel was preserved, remembering as it was when I visited more than 25 years ago! The school campus has adapted to the times, with numerous new buildings. Regardless, it still felt familiar (spending 12 years of youth there)

The person in-charge of having our religious items blessed is very accommodating! Everyone is really kind. The place is also conducive for praying and reflecting.

I recommended to visit if you will add this to your visita eglesia, althought too many devotees but if you are a Marian devotee you must come and offer a prayer, beacuse Our Lady of Montserrat is known for her miraculous intercessory powers.

Architecture inside the church is amazing. Had a solemn time visiting the place. Not a crowded area to go to.

Officially named as The Benedictine Abbey Church of Our Lady of Montserrat, it is one of the most beautiful churches in the Philippines. Very notable are the paintings in ceilings and murals on the sides. The Abbey continues to hold Masses, prayers and benedictions on weekdays and on Sundays and holidays.
