Visited in the last week of February 2023 Good place for family outing and can spend atleast 3 hours. Special attraction is the ghat road which has around 20 bends. Recommendable place for bike enthusiasts but be responsible. Had issue with monkeys especially for bikers they tear any luggage left unattended and the seats.

This place was a very cool for trekking to the point-1…. I recommend you guys to reach the place by 6 in the morning because the late you reach the place the harder it was going to be due to the place was very open and it will be sunny and exhausting and also I recommend you guys to go with the well experienced person who knows the path very well. And also carry some change to buys the entry ticket down the hill it costs around 20 rupees for bike and 100 for car and the counter doesn’t have any online payments and if you guys are trekking then carry some half liter water bottles I recommend around 2 bottles per person and also carry some food if you like and beware of monkey

Kondaveedu fort is located in Kondaveedu village, about 25 km from Guntur city. It was constructed by Prolaya Vema Reddy. Famous visiting place in Guntur and hill top view was amazing. Parking space, picnic spot is available. Perfect place for trekking with friends. You have to go through zig zag road to reach the fort. It feels awesome to ride through the ghat road. From the top, the view of the village is just speechless. Hill roads are so clean and in good condition for riding. Must recommended place around Guntur. To enter the forest area need to take tickets from check post which is cost Rs.15 each person.

Kondaveedu Fort is a historically significant ancient hill fortress located in Kondaveedu, a village in the Chilakaluripet constituency of Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The site is located 16 miles west of the city of Guntur. Apart from this main fort, there are two other forts nearby. Excellent landscape views - Good for Weekend Visits and Trekking. Can spend 4-6 hours easily. Two Wheeler Trip highly recommended to enjoy the GHAT road experience 🏍️ CAREFUL when you have KIDS with you, I suggest not to leave them even for a second. Drinks/Snacks/Water Available at Vendors. I didn't saw any food court kind of things so not sure about it and its better to bring your own food when you planned for long visit. Didn't find public toilets as well. Enjoy the Beautiful Experience. Thanks for reading the review 📖👍

I was here for the bike ride experience, but to my surprise, I had an excellent trekking experience as well. It is good to reach early morning, around 6:30, to enjoy that pleasant, calm experience. It's generally crowded on Sunday, so it's better to visit this place on Saturday. Irrespective of the vehicle, you will be charged per person and additional charges for DSLR or professional video recording equipment.

Many entertaining things put in place....for kids, and adults! However, nature itself has formed really good cool spots...find them and check them out. A Suggestion would be to plan a part of the day to enjoy all of it and leave after having a meal. That would satisfy you entirely!

A biker paradise road, few hairpin bends with good road #short_ride. There are few remaining blocks of fort can be seen. U can claim a small peak and have a good 360 view of fort. A place to chill with friends. Lot of people's comes over here.

One of the Best Visiting Place in Guntur. No Public Transportation facility available. No Food available inside the Fort. Ice cream & Water bottles only available inside. Very Rich Weather. Best place for Couples. Children Park also in very Good condition. One this is Disappointing. That is Somany Monkeys available inside. If you carry any Bag, Monkeys will chase you. If you have Stick in your hand, Monkeys not follow you. Anyway Somany sticks available inside the Fort. You can carry one stick.

Kondaveedu fort is a nice place to visit. A new serpentine double road is laid recently. So we can reach the top easily. Though ruins, it's very picturesque. You can spend a few hours with family.

Very beautiful and huge place to visit and explore the mountains , most people don’t know about this place even from surrounding area’s like Vijayawada, Guntur. I rode from Vijayawada to Kondaveedu of around 80kms. I enjoyed every moment starting from entering into ghats and exploring mountains and 3 lakes. Worth of many visits. Add it to your bucket list.

Basically it's a place with rocks and some rock buildings and lands with 3 ponds . Don't expect grandeur with name fort . It needs to be lot developed and you can go with bunch of friends just to have fun with rock climbing, trek and some good spots to have pics and do a neat picnic 😉. The best thing about this place is the ghat road which takes you to fort it was awesome feel to ride. Final short verdict : A good place to roam and chill for half day with your friends ( again don't expect much😂)

The recent developments have made this historical place a wonderful tourist attraction in and around Guntur. It takes atleast 1.5 - 2 hours to cover the entire area and click some good pics. The entry fee for bikes is 20/- and will be closed by 5pm.

Kondaveedu Fort is a historically significant ancient hill fortress located in Kondaveedu, a village in the Chilakaluripet constituency of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The site is located 16 miles west of the city of Guntur. This fort is in the Kondaveedu hills range. Prolayavemareddy started construction of an impregnable fort at Kondaveedu in about 1335 AD, later his son Anavotha Reddy completed and shifted his capital from Addanki to Kondaveedu in the year 1355 AD. Built by the Reddy kings in the 14th century, Kondaveedu was one of the strongest forts in South India. The recent discovery of a Buddhist stupa renders this place an important archaeological site. Kondaveedu Fort is located 1700 feet above the sea level. The fort being located on a hill top, the view from this place is awe inspiring

Excellent place to visit. More over from last two years the road facility is available directly. From down kondaveedu to the fort. Mean while Bsnl is the only network to provide coverage in deep areas of fort. 2km away from fort their is a park too.

This is a continuous hairpin bend road leading to Kondaveedu Fort - a fort situated in a beautiful spread of Kondaveedu mountain ranges, located at a distance of 26 km from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Kondaveedu Fort is located 1700 feet above the sea level. The fort being located on a hill top, the view from this place is awe inspiring. It is a shame that this beautiful place, once flourished as the capital of Reddy kings, could not fast become a tourist hotspot. It is only in recent years, tourists from across the state are thronging the place and enjoying the scenic beauty of the area. I've searched for any travelogue done on this place in Team-Bhp also, but surprisingly there is none (correct me if I'm wrong). History: The main Kondaveedu Fort was built by the Telugu Chodas, strengthened by Kakatiyas and occupied by Prolaya Vemareddy who shifted his capital from Addanki to Kondaveedu in 1323 A.D. Later, the fort was under the control of Vijayanagar Kings, Gajapatis, Golkonda sultans and lastly under French and British. All who had divergent approaches to the administration of their province and the fort. While the Hindu rulers showed benevolence to its subjects and brought prosperity to the region, the Muslims subjected the province and its people to many depredations. In 1323, Warangal and the whole of Andhra Pradesh came under the reign of Tughlaqs, rulers of Delhi. Their depredations and despotic reign resulted in formation of a confederation movement by the Hindu Musunuri Nayaks who ousted the Muslims from Warangal, and the Reddys were part of this movement. The Reddys of Kondaveedu were initially feudatories of the kings of Warangal. From inscriptions, it is inferred that their rule overlapped with that of the Korukonda Reddis and that they shifted from their earlier capital at Addanki in Guntur to Kondaveedu. The founder of the dynasty was Prolaya Vema Reddy, the son of Prola. They ruled in the region around present day Vijayawada and Guntur towns for nearly a hundred years (1328–1428). Their first ruler Prolaya Vema Reddy (followed by five other rulers till 1428) who ruled till 1353, strengthened the defenses of his kingdom by building a number of forts, which included the Kondaveedu Fort. He shfited his capital from Addanki in Guntur to Kondaveedu fort. Subsequently, the region was ruled by the Bahmanis (1458), the Vijayanagara Kings (1516), the Qutb Shahis, (1531,1537 & 1579), the Mughal army of Aurangzeb in 1687, the French (1752), the Asafjahi Kings, and finally the British (1766 and 1788. You have to arrange your self food, water and transport. If government gives attention to this it might turn to be one of good tourist spot. Just for long drive and ghat road experience. Wider road from starting point to hill top. After that 500 mtr road is not good. (just a way, not road). It will reach 100 feet down area. But we have to go for car parking. And to see other places. Keep umbrella in rainy season because you won't find any shelter above the hill.

(Translated by Google) It is located in the Yedlapada Zone, 20 km from Guntur District. The fort has 21 structures. It is one of the famous forts in Andhra Pradesh. This once magnificent structure is now in a state of disrepair. However, the buildings of that time and the beauty of nature share the joy. * 44 Forts, ramparts, granaries, temples, horse stables, armory, mosque and treasury are some of the monuments of the past. * Tara Tower, Getty Tower, Peacock Tower, Ramanal Tower are important. The center was guarded by soldiers. * Prolaya Vemareddy, the first of the Reddy kings, established an independent kingdom with Addanki as its capital. He was succeeded by his son Anapotareddy. During his time the capital was moved from the mirror to the hillside. The fort was built to protect the kingdom from enemy invasions. Poet Sovereign Srinath served as an educator in the court of Pedakomati Vemareddy in the Kondavidu Empire. * After the fall of the Reddy kings, the fort was captured by the Vijayanagara lords and the Golconda Sultans. * Archaeologists have unearthed two-thousand-year-old Buddhist stupa, pottery and pieces of Chinese porcelain pottery around the fort. Remains of the pillar can be seen on the steep slopes, next to the hillside trail. Light green, black and maple stones were used for its construction. The Shiva temple was built on this stupa. Chain ponds were dug. Instead of wasting water, one pond is filled and arranged to go into another pond. * There is a sword well at the bottom of the hill. This is called the dark corner. It was built to kill enemies. * The fort houses the Lakshminarasimhaswamy Temple and the Venkateswaraswamy Temple. The Venunathaswamy Temple was built by Sri Krishnadevaraya. * There was a moat of 37 acres around the bottom of the hill. All the rainwater that fell on the hill reached into it. Raising crocodiles in a ditch without anyone entering the fort. * The way to the fort is very beautiful. The journey on the Ghat Road, which is winding like a snake, feels good. * UNESCO has basically agreed to recognize the fort as a World Heritage Site. It directed the government to submit the relevant evidence. Loved loved loved. Totally in love with this place. Had a visit with family... But.... Water bottles, chips, ice creams rates are too high. Also the road way is little dangerous. Be careful with the mountains AP tourism should undertake and do the needful Amendments for the safety of the people.

Good place. Nothing much to see around but the view is beautiful from the top. Especially in rainy and winter seasons. Beware of monkeys. Loads and loads of them. Don't plan any food stuff. If you're planning, better get a catapult along to scare the monkeys. The whole tour can be completed in 2 hours.

*Not much to see if you aren't looking for an adventure. Ofcourse no tour guides. *No need to pay except car ticket. *Be careful, there are few stone slides on the road. *You can drive a car(not suv) beyond the gate on the mountain. *Careful with monkeys. *Search a way for yourself to the top of the fort, no path paved beyond viewpoint.

Hai This is my second visit ,yes its good experience and close with nature . No fort but some old mandapas and stones ,mountains ans greenery are some historic attractions . The ghat road itself seems very beautiful and top of the journey which we do will be very peaceful. No possible options to stay near to Kondaveedu area but there are staying options in chilakaluripet (near by town) . While going near to check post of the entry to ghat road to fort(check post charges 20INR) there's a food dhaba available both veg and non veg .(they will accept online payments too) Food options near the fort entry are very less ,only snacks available .We can carry any food items and have inside the fort area its allowed (liquor is prohibited) Liquor is not available though we carry its not allowed up the ghat road or fort ,for which you request dhaba guys to save them in freezer and in return u can have food there itself . Dhaba plays movies or tv on a projector during evening and peaceful place in green fields . Parking after entry into fort is available as there's open place though. You can find some pics though. Hope it will be helpful.

Best place located in Guntur District!!! 👌👌👌 Winter and Rainy seasons are best time to visit there. Kondaveedu Fort is a historically significant ancient hill fortress located in Kondaveedu, a village in the Chilakaluripet constituency of Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, India. The site is located 16 miles west of the city of Guntur. Apart from this main fort, there are two other forts (names not known) nearby. Efforts are in progress to classify Kondaveedu Fort as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Kondaveedu is the largest hill fort in present Andhra Pradesh state, situated about 27 kms southwest of Guntur city. This fort is in the Kondaveedu hills range. Prolayavemareddy started construction of an impregnable fort at Kondaveedu in about 1335 AD, later his son Anavotha Reddy completed and shifted his capital from Addanki to Kondaveedu in the year 1355 AD. At present, there are so many monuments, though they may be small, but they are of immense historical and cultural value. Kondaveedu fort commands a picturesque view from Nemmalla buruju(bastion), south of Nemmala buruju hills sprawling over three kilometers up to NH5 with green forest. Apart from Nemmalla buruju there are 22 buruju’s, some of which are Tara buruju or Chukkala konda buruju, Jetty buruju, A.Ramanal buruju, Sajjamahal buruju, B.khilla buruju, Miriala chattu buruju, Pamu kuduru buruju, Allavari buruju. These bastions are built on hillocks connecting with a long chain of wall. Of all the Bastions Taraburuju is most impressive eye catching and an icon of Kondaveedu fort. As we know, that Kondaveedu fort was built in hills which are more or less in an oval shape. By being laid a ghat road to this fort, easy access is now available, with this Kondaveedu is going to be a popular holiday destination. It is famous for lakes, forest with 56 kinds of herbal plants, hills and a beautiful description of the fort was made by the great poets like Srinatha and later in 20th century by Duvuri Ramireddy in their writings. once we enter the fort, either from the east or west we indispensably encounter with enchanting water tanks namely Muttyalamma cheruvu(Kunalamma), Puttalamma cheruvu, Vedulla cheruvu. If we walk through this valley feast our eyes on the beauty all-round us. Reddy kings having found that Addanki was weak from the point of strategy, they at once shifted the capital to Kondaveedu. Considering the importance of water they gave much stress on water harvesting and conservation in this hill fort. The construction of three water tanks within the fort provides valuable knowledge regarding the engineering skills available in 14th century. These three tanks were naturally formed in a rough manner among hills. Reddy kings got them cut 15 to 20 feet deep, collecting water from the hills around them. These efforts not only meet the drinking water needs of the people in the contonment but also helped the survival of the live stock; even today the tourists and livestock quench their thirst in these tanks in mid summer. This is really a classic example of an ancient ingenuity in designing water harvesting structure to meet the needs of the people living in the fort. Reddy kings adopted similar water harvesting techniques in their other forts like Vinukonda, Bellamkonda, Kondapalli and so on. Hill fortress are located in hills and rocky areas, in such forts water is scarce in those days. Then how could be possible for a garrison of several hundred men live at the top of these hills throughout the year without sufficient supply of drinking water? If we observe in Kondaveedu and their other forts, the water supply arrangements, the Reddy kings utilized all depressions, relatively shallow, wide and flat, cavities, deep fissures, fractures, where water can be stored were used and in the flat areas the ground was excavated in the form of reservoir and entirely artificial works were built. It means that in hills water resources were appreciable and the said kings took all possible steps to get rid of the seasonal fluctuations.

Hidden historical gem of Andhra Pradesh specially coastal side. This place was ruled by the great king srikrishnadevaraya succeeded by Reddy aja. Naturally it has picturisque sites all over the place. An other attraction is its newly constucted ghat road with hairpin turns. My humble request is for the AP tourism department to undertake this site and develop tourism to attract more people.

Nice place to visit with family. Bit far away from Vijayawada. Might be closer for guntur people. Huge area to cover inside. Better to start early with packed home food. Good place for family picnics.

Best tourism and hangout place near Guntur town. The ghat road is very good. At the top it's more of a military base than a fort, which covers all the four directions. The bio diversity is awesome. There are many dust bins or trash cans provided, i request the visitors to please use it and also the officials to please clear it frequently. This is a precious place, please do keep it that way
