We stopped by this place to have a few drinks before a show at Downtown Live. I ordered a Taste the Rainbow and it was the greatest drink I've ever had. If you like girly fruity drinks it is a must try!! All 3 of my friends loved all the drinks we ordered. The manager sent over shots because of the construction going on next to us. That was a nice gesture and next time I'm in Phoenix I will definitely be coming back. The tomato pizza was also really yummy!

This space was booked for a large group event on Sunday, and the experience was great! All the cocktails 🍸 the group ordered were amazing! The Mr. Hendricks was the groups favorite drink of the evening. Kenzie, the manager on duty, was great and changed the music upon request. Overall, it was a great experience. I would highly recommend it.

I'm so disappointed in this place. I used to come a lot and never ever had a problem. The past two times I've tried to come have been horrible but Saturday night took the cake. I was with a group of friends meeting another friend who had a table for us inside. In the mean time he was sitting with his family and once we got there his family came out to let us know we could come in, in particular it was my friends mother in law. The bouncer in the front shut it down immediately and said we couldn't do that when it had already been confirmed by the waitress serving them we could. She told him they saved 4 seats for us, he said those four seats are for another party. She explained it's at the table she just got up from where my friend is still sitting waiting on us, not another separate table. He explained in a nasty tone that the bill would need to be closed out, they don't allow your party to come if they already went in then your stuck waiting outside for your own table. His attitude made the whole night sour. Now I understand there are policies and procedures in place but that doesn't require being rude and dismissive. He became argumentative when we questioned him and we ended up leaving. The bar itself is amazing if you can wind up getting past the dragon in the front and his pompous attitude

A group of friends and I visited last week and our experience was so wonderful. But what made it extra special was our fantastic server, Lo. She was so friendly from the first greeting and was ready to give us recommendations and answer any questions we had. Lo was knowledgeable and we could tell she cared so much about connection to guests! Our drinks were also so yummy! Highly recommend the Smoke Show! We will definitely visit again and hope to see Lo! ❤️

Came in before a comedy show for a quick bite and cocktail. This is a gem, incredible cocktail list and food was amazing. Lo (our server) made the whole experience, knew the menu inside and out and helped us pick the perfect drinks. Will 1000% come back, come check this place out

Not sure if a 1 star review is appropriate or not. I had seen great reviews for this place and came with my husband. There was open seats at the bar but was told that the bar tender had too many people to serve and was given the suggestion of another bar. Didn’t look particularly crowded for 6PM on a Saturday.

Great cocktails. I've had decent experiences the other times I've been here but I am put off by last night. We put our name and number on the list and went next door to wait out the 30 minute wait. We came back 30 minutes later and the lady insisted their system sent us a text that we didn't respond so too bad so sad we lost our reservation. We received zero texts and the doorman informed us the system was acting up and kicking people off. I understand things happen but this woman was adamant on blaming us for their technological malfunction. She couldn't even apologize or accept any responsibility. This is more of a poor reflection on the management than the quality of drinks, food, and service.

Great experience here, drinks are well mixed and the bartender I had was very versed in alcohol. was a great experience and I loved every minute. As a femme at a bar this(photo) kind of openly posted sign in the bathroom makes this a recommendable date place. A safe place. I did not need to test the staffs willingness to relocate anyone but the posted signs gave me a sense of safety and hope for the bar scene in Phoenix.

Very cool vibes and good cocktails. This area is up and coming (although majordomo has been there for a while now). There is a winery down the road (Angeleno). I recommend starting the afternoon there and you can walk over to this spot It was fairly low key until about 9:30 once the crowd rolled in. Definitely a cool spot to grab a drink and hangout, especially the outside area (which has heaters).

Gorgeous interior and even more gorgeous and delicious drinks. The atmosphere is unique compared to most places in Phoenix and it’s a great place to go when celebrating a special occasion. Very hip and fun place.

Drinks here are always top notch. There’s a fun selection with unique twists to drinks you think you’ve gotten used to, until now. On top of the great drinks, they also have bomb food! Truly some of the best dim sum and fried rice I’ve had. The service makes the whole experience hard to pass up.

This place is so cool, a speakeasy kinda retro feel if that makes sense. I can't say enough about the drink menu. Just wow! The food was good. Very Mexican with an Asian flare to it. Wish they had the Japanese fried rice I heard so much about but they took it off the menu so that bummed me out. Too many drinks which means the next time I'm in town from Vegas, I'll stop back in to try another. Maybe the fried rice will be back on the menu by then lol 😆

Awesome atmosphere and the service was excellent. The waiters always made sure your needs were met and your drinks were topped. Very easy to find in Downtown Phoenix, but be prepared to bring a party of two or more. Will definitely visit again.

Great indoor and outdoor seating. Massive menu for cocktails. Will need to go there a few times to get a hand of the menu, but the two I had were amazing. Staff was very friendly and the decor was fit.

Went here for late night after dinner drinks. Great ambiance, service drinks and food. I would definitely return here. I had a bottle of Prosecco, I don’t remember the name of the drink but it was delish, and we had crispy potatoes for a snack. I will definitely return here, and on my next visit have a full meal along with the cocktails.

Overall this place is pretty cool. I've been two times. The food is a really pretty good! The best thing about here is that they have SO MANY Drinks!!!! And if you are unsure the bar staff can help guide you to an amazing drink! It's Not cheap here, but definitely worth the experience!

Amazing place. Wide selection of original and classic cocktails. Full bar with Hundreds of spirits. Fresh ingredients made by craftsmen bartenders. Prohibition era brick and stone building. Warm, low lighting; vintage cherry wood grain bar top; chocolate colored leather seats and back bar wall. Overall good vibes. Definitely recommend it and will be back👌😉

The classic fancy cocktail bar in the valley, after several visits its still one of the best. The cocktails are always delicious and there is an incredible variety on the menu. We visited this time for the Christmas seasonal "sippin Santa" menu and all of the Christmas drinks were good, especially the undertow toddy. I have two minor criticisms: 1. They change the look of the menu more often than they change the actual drinks on the menu. 2. The current food (Jamaican from the formerly standalone restaurant Breadfruit) is tasty but so spicy it overpowers the cocktails. Aside from that, it's really a great bar with delicious and unique drinks!

I love this cocktail bar! Amazing vibes with great service. The decoration was very beautiful. The drinks were well made and very innovative. There are many different liquor base for you to choose (and variety drink, full of surprise) The drink that surprised me the most was Té Earl Grey Negroni. It was very round with the hint of earl grey. I will definitely come back here again!

Excellent spot. Downtown Phoenix, old building, cool interior. Beautiful bar. They offer food and a drink menu that reads like a novel. Service is excellent, super friendly, highly skilled bartenders. Pick a cocktail, any cocktail. You can’t go wrong. There’s something for everyone. Loved it. Will definitely be back Easy to park in the area. Can get busy, may have a short wait to enter

Super incredible place. Don’t miss out on this cocktail bar if you are in the Phoenix area. I will come back every time I visit. One of the most intricate drink menus I’ve seen in Arizona. The bar staff is incredibly knowledgeable and they have an endless menu of drinks. The food was cooked to perfection as well. We were served by Joe(super professional/friendly) and you can just tell him what you like in a cocktail and he will tantalize your tastebuds. Thanks!

I would hate to be a cocktail bar in downtown Phoenix and have to compete with this place's quality. Hands down best cocktail bar I've ever been to. The menu is a trip to look at, atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, food from Breadfruit was awesome. Only downside is the price range, but when you're quality is this good, it's more than fair.

Such a fun place to go if your downtown phoenix! Fun custom cocktails with good food! They change the menu but we got there jerk chicken sandwich and pull pork sandwich and they were yummy! They don't take reservation which is a bummer but if you go before 8pm and your a small group you'll get seated right away!

Super unique cocktail lounge that makes you feel like you are in a different city altogether. Phoenix night life is changing for the better, this place reminds me of trendy D.C, new York City, or Portland cocktail lounges. Drinks are expensive than you would get normally, but honestly, you are paying for quality. The drinks look great, taste great, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and can help narrow down a choice from their vastly creative menu for you. It's first come first serve unless you have a larger party so I usually go in before 7pm to get a seat.

Bar food was tasty, but servings sizes were tiny. Happy hour drinks were not that great of a deal. Service was poor. Wrong orders and one of our party had a fake eye lash in his dish. After some complaints they took that dish off the bill.

One of the more legitimate bars for mixology in the downtown Phoenix area. Be ready to open your wallet but these bartenders can mix almost anything you could think of and then some. Known for some fun glasses and nice themes This is definitely a parlor you want to check out.

Cauliflower and noodles with shrimp are off the hook good. Seriously yummy. Happy hour pricing is fair. Probably to soon for me to decide if it's worth it. What I do know is the two appetizers we had on the happy hour menu ranged from 9 to 14$. Blackberry flavor gin Collins was pretty damn good. We will be back.

Tried to go this past weekend with a buddy of mine. The doorman told us it would be about a 15 minute wait and that we couldn't go to the bar, meanwhile they let the group of two in front of us in and the group of 6 behind us in. This was at 11pm. I guess I'm not cool enough to spend any money at this place, I'll have to let all my friends know that they will most likely not be welcome here as well. Update 11/8/16: Finally made it inside, I was a bit nervous walking to the front door but I made it in for happy hour without any issues. I am sitting here during date night writing this review (side eye included) and have to say I am impressed. The drink options and quality are bar none. The food choices are spot on, the atmosphere is effortless and everything at the same time. Truly impressed. I will have to figure out this no wait app because this place is worth it. Will be coming back again and again. Update 02/22/20 Still waiting to be let in. This is outrageous.

Update: We visited Phoenix this weekend and came here again. This time, the drinks were great as usual but the service left much to be desired. Our server took way to long to take our initial order and check on us in between. The other servers noticed the lack of service and were stepping in, however, that still meant we were being left unattended for long periods of time. Also, the drinks were taking a long time to come out. Original post: Such a creative theme and the drinks are AMAZING!!! MUST visit if you are in downtown phoenix

‘Tis ALWAYS the season for Bitter & Twisted pleasure! With well planned reservations for appropriate social distancing, B&T has the system mastered, providing a well choreographed experience for our 8-top double birthday mini-celebration. They have the seasonal pop-up bar experience in full swing, providing a wide array of jolly libations & vibrations. The food is fabulous, and I left feeling everything BUT bitter with all of my appetites sated. You’ll never go wrong at Bitter & Twisted!

The website and Instagram says absolutely nothing about making reservations. It's MANDATORY in order to get a spot. I tried to text someone on Instagram and didn't get an answer. Make sure u set it up online so you're not running around downtown trying to get a drink. I'm super bummed I'm not able to try these drinks the one night I'm in town.

I am in town for business and my fiance said I had to check out her favorite spot in Phoenix while in town. I was not disappointed. The food was amazing, and the drinks.... well to say anything less than top notch would be a disservice. The staff was on point and I can't say enough about my experience there. Do keep in mind, due to COVID protocol be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. I can't wait to go back before I leave Phoenix.

I know quite a few people who love Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour. I don't. It's not like you have to drag me there kicking and screaming, but it's a bit antiseptic for my taste. Coziness is my litmus test for a bar, and that's not the vibe here. Sure, there's a pool table, but I also wouldn't feel uncomfortable wearing (trendy) business casual. I never, ever want to feel comfortable in business casual.

Order in via a service that dashes the food to your door. When I read the descriptions I was like OMG this will be amazing!! However execution was Soo poor that I tossed it after a few bites. Very chic, with the sheer curtains hanging before you can actually walk into and see the restaurant. TONS of drinks to choose from. I order the Korean nachos and they were great. Would love to come back and visit. It does get pretty expensive though and the tip percentage they offer to choose from are very high. But I'm from So. Cal so maybe it's just high for me

Loved this place! if you're in Phoenix you have to check it out! Amazing cocktail menu! I loved both of my drinks, very delicious, I'm going to steal those recipes, thank you so much for an amazing service as well! Didnt eat a lot, but tuna tartar was delicious! The only thing is that the whole menu is spicy, I wish they had more options for people who don't/can't eat spicy. Anyhow I love the place and it's vibe! Thaaaaank you!

This place is a combination of good craft cocktails and good munchies! Located in the downtown Phoenix area, the bar setting is nice and the place is very welcoming! The people who work here are very helpful and pleasant, and they will help steer you in the correct direction if you cannot decide on a beverage of choice! This place is worth a look if you are in the area! There are other cool spots in walking distance, so, plan accordingly!

Man, I wish I caught the name of my sever because she were lovely(Helps that she's a drag race fan)! Any how, the ambience was lovely and welcoming, nothing like a high ceiling with an inviting bar area to get you settled in. We ordered at least 4 mojitos and had the server pick them out for us. The mixologist is a little heavy on the mint, but that's not really a concern. We had peach, pineapple, passion fruit, and one other monitor that I can't really remember. We also ordered the seaweed popcorn and had two flutes of champagne. Overall, nice spot to come to for happy hour prior to a game.

Such a cute place! Their menu is a BOOK of cocktails,& they have very creative options of fun craft cocktails for everyone. The environment is swanky yet clean with vintage touches. I ordered the Lemongrass Collin’s which reminded me of a delicious fresh alcoholic lemonade with a hint of vanilla. The presentation of their cocktails is fun and artistic and the service is top notch! Definitely worth checking out!

The drinks were top tier for sure. The pizza was good. The ambiance is very nice! But the service was so-so, sadly. I understand that it's busy and all but some things I feel are just basic, like, when you serve a pizza to a table of people, you give them plates and napkins... I had to ask for napkins. And service was just a bit slow in general. Which, again, I get it, sometimes it's just busy. But just to set the expectation for anyone going for the first time. It's nice, and fun, but pricey also, so just plan to pay a decent amount. The drinks are definitely the star of the show here.

  • 5/5 T S. 1 year ago on Google
Excellent cocktail bar! When I say the cocktail menu is a book, it's not an exaggeration. Includes a map of the styles of drinks to help you decide, and each drink is thoroughly described. Oh, and the drinks are phenomenal! The service is great, bartenders are very good and helpful - even give out samples if you're lucky enough to be sitting at the bar! It's definitely worth coming at least once. You won't regret it!

Bitter n Twisted is badass! Excellent service, atmosphere, tasty food, and very unique drinks! Joe and Steve were phenomenal bartenders: knowledgeable, funny, kind, patient, and accommodating to ensure everything was a great experience. Highly recommend this place! I can’t go five stars on the food because I didn’t have any, but I had absolutely amazing drinks a total of three of them. Bourbon Barry jubilee , lime in the coconut, and a clover Club. They don’t mess around when it comes to making a drink they were all outstanding. My only gripe would be the front door security. He was a little cocky.. but I also do understand where he’s coming from, but things can be said differently. I look forward to going back and trying another one of their amazing drinks .

I love love LOVE this place. Really nice ambience with dimmed out lights to really set a good mood in. I ordered mainly whiskey based drinks but my favorite has to be “Split Decision”. The staff is so attentive and spot on with their recommendations, I’d definitely ask if you’re a first timer, like myself. Highly recommend Bitter & Twisted. Tell your friends.

We always love visiting Bitter and Twisted when we are in downtown Phoenix. The menu changes yearly and it’s always fun to see the new theme. This time it was Novels. With pictures and drinks to match old favorites like Lord of the Rings, and Edgar Allen Poe stories. I’ve never had a bad cocktail there. And I’ve tried many. We always share a sip or two with our friends so we can each get a taste. This time it was a date night with just myself and my husband. But, the four drinks we had were wonderful! I prefer the fruity and fun cocktails. While my husband is a whisky guy. The wait staff helps each other all night long so, you won’t be left waiting for a drink or to checkout. Very well managed.

First time to Bitter & Twisted! Great location. Ambience in the parlour was great and felt cozy. Having a team of waiters was great as well never had to wait long to order or get food and drinks! The drink menu is endless and fun! We tried a few appetizers and they were all delicious.

Always a good place for any occasion! Sippin’ Santa was so above par I wish I could go every day to try more tasty beverages and delicious eats. Even with a limited menu, Bitter & Twisted did not disappoint! I highly recommend this unique dining experience for anyone interested in trying drinks and food that will leave you craving more.

We really enjoyed exploring downtown Pheonix and did covering some hidden gems like this emporium of delicious cocktails served up my fast and friendly mixologists. The menu is extensive and fanciful. Decor is basic but I loved the vibe and will be back with more friends. Coke early to avoid the crowds! VictorB

Great location and drinks. The food was ok. Felt the place was bit noisy. I would recommend to bring down the music on week days or early evening to have a nice conversation. With drinks they know their business. Too many drinks so sometimes you may get lost. Would have to go back there again to try more. Servers were nice and prompt.
