The perfect place to relax and unwind with great food and an excellent pint of beer. Stopped in with my husband after a football game at State Farm Stadium, and the food (philly cheesesteak fries are delicious!) and staff were amazing. Melo was our waitress; she was efficient, friendly, and incredibly helpful when it came to explaining the menu choices to us first timers. Such a great experience - we plan on returning whenever we're in town.

Traditional Irish ☘️ Pub. Food on the menu is Irish. Be sure and give them a try. I was pleasantly impressed by the food. We enjoyed the Wings and pretzel 🥨. The Reuben and soup of the day. The highlight for me was the Fish and chips. But my experience would not have been possible without Aimee our server. She a very friendly lady who is pleasant and soft spoken. She genuinely likes people and knows the menu and knows the draft beers. Wish this place was closer to Fl. 😉

We love a good Irish pub because they are cozy and warm. This one is in a fun part of downtown, near sporting events and lots of activities. Many restaurants to choose from and chose it because we were pretty casually dressed, wanted comfy seating and affordable comfort food. It got the spot. I enjoyed the 2 different ciders: a pear one and a grape. The food was very good. The crab cakes were a nice appetizer, the 1 Street burger was good but the Reuben was delicious!

Gotta say this experience was amazing had a local meter guy patrolling the area recommend this place..100% amazing felt right at home. Huge thanks to our waiter Alex for giving us a warm welcome, very knowledgeable with the menu and drinks and even recommended things close to what we usually drink. Will definitely be coming back when we are around the area again. And recommend this place to anyone who asks.

Sorry but this place absolutely bombed. The chicken in the buffalo fries tasted like it had too much salt on it, A ridiculous amount. The corn beef was OK but I had to order extra thousand Island just to help make it moist. It was extremely dry as well as the chicken on the California club. The mixed drinks were great the beer was warm. Don’t think I’ll come back to this one.

Went on a Tuesday night it was busy. We had appetizers because we had dinner at another place. They were very good. Philly fries and large pretzel. For desert bread pudding. Definitely coming back for dinner. Great fast and efficient server and awesome atmosphere.

Definitely good food, good ambience and a nice place to end up for a weekend dinner! Ample of beer options to chose from. Glad they could prepare the hot toddy for us though it was not a part of their menu! Gets crowded during the weekends but the service was pretty fast! The wings were my favorite! The area surrounding gets pretty crowded during the weekends, expect a quick walk from your parking places, you may not get one close by! Happened to be there during the Halloween weekend, was filled with all fun loving people posing with their best Halloween costumes. Right beside was a block party too with all those vintage Hot Rods in a Halloween touch! Surely a place where you should he on a weekend!

Good place to drop by and grab some food and beer. They have a modest selection of draft beer, and their food items (in my case, the Black Bean burger) was quite tasty. My buddy had the fish and chips, and they were also very good. Service here was amazing, and overall, this is a good place to try out if you're looking for pub food.

Excellent service and excellent food. We both had the fish and chips. The fish was light, crispy, and not oily. The fries are not traditional chips, but tasty. The coleslaw had a nice tang and crunch. We were both surprised with the tarter sauce, it was quite good; not a heavy taste of mayonnaise and no metallic, chemical aftertaste. I look forward to returning and trying a burger.

An Unforgettable Culinary Experience ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nestled in the heart of the city, The Kettle Black is a true gem among dining establishments. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was transported into a world of culinary delight. The ambiance is nothing short of enchanting, with dim lighting, rustic decor, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a special celebration, this place sets the perfect mood. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish is a masterpiece, expertly crafted with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The menu offers a delightful mix of flavors and textures. I highly recommend starting with their inventive appetizers; the seared scallops were a personal favorite. For the main course, the choices are diverse, catering to various dietary preferences. The perfectly cooked filet mignon melted in my mouth, while the vegetarian option left my friends equally impressed. The wine list is extensive, and the sommelier is knowledgeable, helping us choose a wine that complemented our meal beautifully. The service at The Kettle Black is top-notch. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that every aspect of your dining experience is impeccable. While The Kettle Black's prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food and overall experience justifies the cost. It's the kind of place where you don't mind splurging for a special occasion. In summary, The Kettle Black is a culinary haven that delivers a memorable dining experience. If you're looking for exceptional food, superb service, and a charming atmosphere, don't hesitate to make a reservation. It's a restaurant that lives up to its reputation as a four-star establishment.

I stopped by here for a early lunch on a weekday. Service was exceptional. I had the Reuben which was one of the better ones hive had in years. Tender beef and not too soggy. The wings were good but not amazing. Atmosphere was a little crowded but all in all a wonderful dining experience.

The best pub in Phoenix hands down. The interior is amazing. Feels like you've been transported to Ireland or England to a proper pub. The red doors and windows on the exterior are beautiful. The food is fantastic! Everything is fresh and you can taste it. This will be my new favorite spot in town.

  • 5/5 Kathryn D. 3 years ago on Google
Great food, atmosphere, and location. My table got mussels, wings, and pretzel, respectively. They were all excellent. The fish and chips are excellent, as well (I got that last time). Best in town, I can honestly say. Great food for a bar. They have stone IPA on draft, a big plus for me, an IPA lover. We were in a hurry to get to a show right after our meal and the service gratuitously was expeditious with our bill. I'll be back many times. Walking distance to anything downtown.

Came in for lunch and it was great! Cozy atmosphere, great music. I was helped by Adam who was very friendly and accommodating. I had the pork belly sliders which were AMAZING! Would definitely love to come back and try something else.

We really enjoyed everything! The service was prompt and friendly, and the decor is beautiful. I really hope this succeeds which I think will. The food was limited during the soft opening but it was still tasty. We live nearby so we will absolutely be back.

I really liked this place. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly; service was excellent but most of all, despite how busy it was, the food was very tasty and the ingredients were fresh and high quality. I had the citrus chicken salad and I found the combination of roasted peppers, blue cheese, corn and citrus dressing very original. Would definitely go back there to try their other dishes. A small request: please add hooks underneath your high tables, so we ladies can hang our bags on...

Bomb. Salmon wad delicious. My friend got the veggie burger and the other got the fish and chips. Crab cakes for appetizers and cider to drink. I would highly recommend! Service was fast and friendly and the prices were fair.

This place has a great pub atmosphere with welcoming, attentive service. The Philly Fries are a must, that is if you like cut fries with shaved ribeye , onions, peppers, and cheese sauce; a very filling $7.50 happy hour meal. The cod sliders are also filling and tasty; $12. There are many local and imported beers to choose from. This is an active, popular place, not a candlelight dinner for two kind of place. I'll be back. Alex.

  • 5/5 Antonio W. 4 years ago on Google
Straight up the best fish and chips I've ever had hands down! One giant cod fillet perfect ratio of batter to fish. Perfectly light and flaky crust. Nicely seasoned. The fries were a nice compliment to the fish. Not to over bearing. Nice potato flavor. Perfectly crisp. Side of cole slaw was a nice touch. Vibrant red cabbage and tart/ sweet dressing. Great for cleansing your palate before another bite of fish. I should have taken a picture before eating but I couldn't resist. Sorry... No I'm not. You will have to go and find out for yourself. When you go ask to be in Alex's section. He was so kind, knowledgeable, and really fun to be around! He really made the night more of an experience. I did talk to his manager to give him kudos. Also a super cool dude. Nice beard!?

The Reuben is the best I've had in the valley and I also had the short ribs that were cooked perfectly. They also have a few authentic 'snugs" that you would have in a good Irish bar. This is a great place to grab a bite before a game, concert, or comedy club.

The bartender could read my mind and served me exactly the right beer after just a few questions. I had a bourbon chaser with it and it was wonderful. The fish and chips was equally great. He was pretty quiet when I came in but got busy quick and then quiet it down again. Had nice people at the bar to talk to and when it quieted down was able to talk to the bartender and some of the other wait staff, very very friendly. Great employees. I'll be coming back. Good job., great Pub

Love this place and everything about it. I live in the East Valley but if I attend an event in the downtown area, I am sure to come here for dinner. The drinks are great and I have yet to have a meal that I did not like. I absolutely love their scallop dish. The service can be slow at times but this is not the place you come to be in and out in 30 minutes in my opinion. The service has always been friendly and I look forward to my next visit.

  • 5/5 Fenris G. 3 years ago on Google
Our bartender was incredibly professional and friendly. He had our drinks to us quickly and checked in enough to make us feel well attended to. The beer my boyfriend got (vape tricks; silly name but it was a cherry beer like a sour with less emphasis on the vinegar notes) was great! I got a mixed drink; it was also really good, and definitely had the right amount of kick to it. We personally didn't order food but the food I saw at other tables looked and smelled wonderful! If you're looking for a small, warm, cozy-yet-nice feeling place in Phoenix to have a drink and get some food, definitely give Kettle Black a shot!

  • 4/5 Yah J. 3 years ago on Google
In this time if Covid restrictions and an obviously muted menu, The Kettle Black still manages to deliver in taste and food quality. I had a Guiness paired with a lovely Steak salad followed by an Irish coffee and the best bread pudding I have ever tasted. I'm not sure what the chef's secret is for this bread pudding but they freaking nailed it. The evening for the two of us came in at about $90. Wait staff was very attentive and professional.

This place is great. The bar staff is knowledgeable and there is a large selection of beer and spirits. I can't comment on the food, as I did not eat there. (The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.) The atmosphere is cool and intimate. I will definitely be back.

  • 4/5 Erik G. 3 years ago on Google
Food and service were both good. I had honey hot wings and they were crisp and meaty. Could have used a little more sauce but I prefer having crisp and having to do in the sauce on the plate than the soggy wins other places serve. Daughter had the onion bacon burger and I'm pretty sure she liked it... it was gone quick even though it appeared to be a full half pounder, cooked to a perfect medium. Pretzel from appetizer menu was pretty good also and the beer cheese sauce was real good. Overall a good place to eat if you are downtown Phoenix, though prices seemed just a little high... but I'm getting old and cheap so take that for what it is. :-)

After several recommendations we visited The Black Kettle Kitchen & Pub. The have an extensive list of Craft beers along with American staples but just happened to be out of cold Miller Lite. I order the Reuben Sandwich and was a tad disappointed. The sandwich looked very good with a more than generous amount of corned beef. It was however a little dry as it was very light on the sauerkraut and the 1000 Island Dressing was almost undetectable. This sandwich showed on the menu to have Swiss Cheese which mine did not.

This was by far the BEST place we visited while in AZ for the Suns Finals. The service was stellar, the food was so delicious and the craft beer choices were great. I honestly can't say enough about the staff though. Everyone we encountered was caring and friendly. This is one of those places that no matter what the food is like, the service will make you come back...but we came back twice in one week because both the service and food was wonderful! We highly recommend making time to stop here. We wished we were locals so we could come here on a regular basis.

Happened upon this gem of a restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Besides the great selection of regular and vegan food, they have shelf alcohol unlike others plus flights of craft beer. Had the reuben that was amazing. I seek out great reubens and The Kettle Black does not disappoint. The turkey burger was juicy and well spiced in a perfect pretzel bun. Do not come to Phoenix without visitng for yourself!

It was very delicious. I ordered the southwest steak salad solely because it's so darn hot out here. If it were temperate I would have ordered the bangers and mash. But the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, the corn salsa actually was savory and not sweet, and I inhaled it. Shout out to the chef

They were busy when we went, crazy understaffed. Our single waitress for the entire restaurant really did her best. The food was ok, my sister and I both got steak frites, my gf got the fish and chips. Her fish was very good, our fries were very good. The steak was flavorful, but very tough. I give it 5 stars because I would go back everyday of my life for this Bloody Maria. It was delicious, not overly spicy or peppery. There were tiny julienned cucumber in it that made it so refreshing, it was truly the best I've ever had. So perfectly balanced in flavors, idk if I'll ever love one again. Also, we were sad their online menu apparently was out of date, there was no corned beef and cabbage and they were already out of their braised short ribs, and it was barely noon. It would be worth it for the cocktail, just saying. Booths and tables are old wood, cool atmosphere. There was a canvas print of Biggie on the wall.

Once you're inside you feel like you're in a cottage somewhere in the countryside as opposed to some building in downtown Phoenix. The staff is great The atmosphere is very homey. The soup and sandwiches we had were delicious and generous and very fairly priced. The Guinness was perfect! Staff was beyond attentive always on top of things without being intrusive. I look forward to my next visit!

This place was a quick stop for us after finding ourselves at a restaurant on a Sunday night with horrible service. The staff at Kettle Black pushed the bar with their attentiveness and stellar service! We were very pleased with the options for food and the yummy drinks/appetizers. It’s like a cool, upscale ish pub! We would come back. Wanted to try the bread pudding but they were all out - so hopefully next time!! We had the pretzel, fish and chips, and a tuna seared salad. 10/10 service and food!

Very happy that I found this spot. Wanted something new. The mussels were a good appetizer. I enjoyed the Salmon and brussles. A little char but good. I was disappointed that the BEEF ribs are cooked down in pork. It should really be advertised for peoples preference and religion to not eat PORK. Other than that, the drinks and service was spectacular 👌🏾

Came here after a Diamondbacks game. From the exterior, you wouldn’t expect this place to be so good! They food is really good, and they have a unique selection of drafts, including an irish cider, which was excellent. Our server was awesome and very knowledgeable. It's a good chill place. They are a walkable distance from almost anywhere downtown.

Such a fun place. Gil the bartender is over the top cool, friendly and accommodating. Crab cakes were great. Guinness ice cold. And they even have a nice wine selection for an Irish pub!!

So far I’ve had wings, but that was a few years ago. The Guinness was on point. Good taps and a great pour. Whoever is running this place is making sure the quality of Guinness matters. 💯

Visited for ASU Parent Weekend! Great service and great food!!! Super fun and casual atmosphere! I had a veggie burger no bun, but the kiddo loved the sliders and meat dishes.

Good food with reasonable price Busy and crowded when I came, so loudness and longer service time were expected.

We decided not to eat and just stopped in for a cocktail. Super cute bar set up. Check out the pics of the bar. Bartender is super personable. I love the rustic bookshelf type of bar. I would like this in my own house. We will come back for a bite on another visit.
