This place was disappointing. The decor and set up of the space is beautiful but the food and service was below average. The first impression we had was stuff in both of our waters with mine still being pink from a previous drink. Then I heard the server say “our dishwasher needs cleaning”. 10 minutes later I saw him sniff test a big tub of orange juice with no label or date. I was so shocked. There was no freshness to any of the food. There were several things I could tell were days old which is disappointing for the price. My boyfriend got a burger that was $18+4 for truffle fries. Pretty expensive but not for a good meal. The burger was cold and under cooked. They used white buns that turned into a soggy mess. The truffle fries were stale, extremely salty and not worth the upgrade. The space is cute and just needs someone to take charge and stop letting people cut corners. It has potential but we won’t be back unfortunately.

What is better than going to a fun, hip, neighborhood bar/restaurant? Going to a fun, hip, neighborhood bar/restaurant that has an amazing patio! What I like...let me restate...love, about the Vig Fillmore's patio is their "island" bar. The bar design allows patrons to sit beside and across from each other, providing a great opportunity to meet new people or simply people watch.

Super inviting patio. Chloe was great as our server! The short rib hash was excellent. Brunch libations on point.

Charming shaded property on a corner in a nice residential area just outside the grind of the urban scape. Relaxing, cool indoor seating and beautiful outdoor well shaded patio. Laid back background music. Interesting menu. Food was superb. Attentive service. Nice spot for a relaxing hanging out nosh. Was able to park around the corner (free street parking) on a Thursday before noon

I am sad to say, Genuine Concepts has lost their touch. After re-opening (COVID—19), with your new menu, your quality of food has gone down. I have been a regular at this location for about 6 plus years. Your Vig’s locations were the spots to be for Happy Hour, & Brunch and now that has changed. You’ve lost our business. The service was always great, we loved your Fillmore and Acadia location. The hosts is ignorant and elitist, she rather you wait then sit you down. We asked to sit at the empty bar, and she replied that it would be a 45 min wait. This has happen multiple times. My local business will go elsewhere.

Yum! I came to town to celebrate my friends birthday and this place was amazing. The calamari and chips with queso were great starters! I love that I was able to add a black bean patty to my salad to get some extra protein. And the dessert they gave us was soo good. Will def be back!

Very cool vibe at this location. Service was good. The chips and chorizo cheese dip was super good! I ordered the Birria Beef Empanada Benedict which was so delicious. The egg was cooked perfect and the meat was tender. My husband ordered the Chilaquiles and he was extremely disappointed in them. It was hard chips (supposed to be soft with just a little bit of crunch), they were not simmered in any sauce at all and the dish hardly had any of the green chile pork. We are from New Mexico, so we have many Mexican restaurants who prepare this dish and this was not at all what Chilaquiles is. We do not recommend this dish if you want anything close to being authentic. This was literally nachos with scrambled egg on it. Thumbs down for that dish.

After our show at the Orpheum we had reservations, my first time here! Our waiter Alex was phenomenal! He took great care of us! The spicy fried cauliflower was a hit at our table 😋 ohh & the Blood Orange 🍊 Margaritas were the bomb 💣

First time here, cute location neat set up, not all that impressed honestly. There was a 20 minute wait, when we could see 3 tables open outside and 5 booths open inside and no one waiting in front of us... The food was good, it did take awhile to get it, they must have had call in orders or something.

The bartender that took care of me was great. I do not remember her name but she made me a great ginger beer based mocktail and was extremely welcoming. The male bartender was also very cool he was giving great suggestions as I was stuck in Phoenix due to flight complications. The outdoor area is fantastic. There are TV's, fans and misters. The food was pretty good for late night food.

Great dinner options, specifically the black bean veggie tacos are very good. Also had their tuna appetizer which was a great presentation and tasted really nice. The bread pudding, cookie skillet, and brownie sundae are all worth it. If it's your first time, get the brownie sundae or bread pudding.

Outdoor dining done perfectly. This place had one of the best setups with many widespread tables, a centrally located bar, and relaxing lounging and hanging spots. The food was incredible as well. I highly recommend the Hot Crispy Chicken sandwich. Just great!

Never before. Denied a table for 1. Hostess says “I really can’t deny you a seat at the bar”. “Do you want me to go someplace else?” I say. “Um, yes” she says! “Chinos is open” I can’t believe it. Sunday night 8:30 tables open everywhere

Last Night we had an amazing time here celebrating 🥳 a friends birthday. The atmosphere was incredible (sat inside) nice a a/c and a big table to seat 10 people. Stephanie was our waitress and she made the whole experience flow with ease. Food was delicious and the drinks were amazing. I highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a date night, meet friends or just roll solo to the bar.

I have been here a few times and every time I have enjoyed their food. The outside patio is chill and has enough shade so you don't have to bake in the sun. The service was fast. All together I have enjoyed my visits. I am glad they have complimentary valet as the parking is difficult otherwise.

The Vig is located right in the heart of downtown, on the corner of a residential neighborhood . A cool place to chill grab a drinks/food. We enjoyed the ambiance at the bar and had an attentive bartender. I was a bit disappointed with my pork posole because it was briny. However, we have had in the past and it was amazing (It happens) The Vig has plenty of seating arrangements outdoors. And a few indoors that are just as great.

Wanted to try something new. Ended up downtown at this place. Everything pictured tasted amazing, posole was delicious, the wings falling off the bone, the shrimp tacos and Brussel sprouts with bacon and the butterscotch bread pudding. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Would definitely make a great place for date night. Next time we will return to check out the scene at night. Overall would recommend this place to anybody looking for a nice chill spot with great food and service.

Came here because we liked the McDowell location so much. Didn’t disappoint, the service was quick and responsive to any requests, we were seated right away and they were having a $4 Bloody Mary and mimosa special for brunch. We got the classic burger and steak salad, both were really good. A lot of healthy options for lunch as well.

This is my first time eating at the Vig. The pictures are exactly what you'd expect for the vibe. It's both lively and quaint. The service is adequate. Not too attentive, but not forgotten. As for the food, the pozole soup was delicious and definitely on the spicy side. The Mahi tacos were good, but a little on the dry side. Would have like to have seen the cook finish earlier and let them rest to perfection. To top it off, however, was the apple pie and butterscotch bread pudding. Amazing! Overall, I will be back to try the other good looking dishes. The menu is complete for a variety of taste buds on any occasion.

The atmosphere is awesome, the food was good, the waiter was awesome and the drinks were great!! We had the pork tacos, nachos and peppers, which were all good. My wife and I also had a couple of old-fashions to drink and they were the best I've had. The old-fashioned was sweeter then a typical one, which I liked. This is an awesome date night place or just hanging with the friends place.

We loved the vibe. The decor outside more social setting but very done with outside bar. The inside settings more date like with a dim lighting very well done. We absolutely loved the food. Food seasoned exceptional well, truly unexpected. The drinks were delicious! We have a new spot to enjoy on out Monday Brunch dates!

I went there for lunch with a friend and it did not disappoint me. The restaurant is set in a remodeled Craftsman house with an ample outside patio/bar area. Food and service were awesome. I had a Seared Tuna salad followed by a bread pudding and they were divine. Highly recommend it!

I have never been to this location. I took a chance based upon the reviews and photos. We brought my mom in law here for her birthday and we all loved it. Good food, nice ambience, and our server, Jenissa, was super attentive. If you are in a hurry for lunch on a Saturday, this is probably not the place for a quick bite. We had to wait in their outdoor seating area for an hour, but I won't complain because the weather was pleasant; however, that may not be the case during Phoenix's infernal summers.

Not a bad place, on the up scale side of dinning. Food was good, portions are on the small side for the price. Atmosphere was nice... makes a nice dinning experience. Inside and outside seating area... great wait staff, very friendly...

This place has terrible service. The host made me wait for a table that was available at the moment. I couldn’t book through open table for some reason but that time slot was available. She told me 15 minute wait and she’ll text me. She didn’t text me. After 25 minutes I asked for the table and she took me right away. She just forgot. It took 45 minutes for the server to bring out a burger and calamari which were both cold. Also, the server asked how I wanted my burger cooked and I requested medium and I got well done. Why bother asking if they’re not going to get it correct? Also nobody came to refresh our water. Left the restaurant thirsty.

We had stopped here pretty much on accident on the way home from the airport yesterday. We were trying a place nearby that I had misread the hours of operation and heard sounds and smelled food over the fence and just wandered in. After a short wait and some staff that was very friendly and willing to entertain us with conversation while we waited for a table we were seated outside. Our waiters were very attentive without being around too much and made sure our needs were met and the food was amazing. We don't venture off our normal dietary habits often so this was a great opportunity for a cheat meal. I love the option of sweet potatoe fries and a great quality beef for a burger. We even took a dessert home with us for the night. Thanks guys for making our original dining mishap into a great afternoon

The food was great ! This place was very nice we had lunch in the outside patio and the music and weather was perfect! Overall experience was ok the waitress helping us Amber/Amanda was very rude she took forever too bring our drinks and was talking back to us she had a discussion with one of my friends over the tips and was telling us we were hangingout for too long !The managers elsie and jules came out to talk to us they were very nice and gave us gift cards for the inconvenience!

Went here for Mothers Day Brunch, we sat down outside. Staff was super friendly, we had the best BLISTERED SHISHITO PEPPERS ever! It was so flavorful , and the fried cauliflower appetizer complimented really well. Salmon and chicken burger was delicious too. Would come back again!

Usually I enjoy The Vig but I haven’t really visited this location before and don’t plan to again for awhile after this. To start- our server took 20 minutes to get a sparkling water and a canned coffee to us despite it being kinda dead (outside at least) I’m guessing because the outdoor bartender was also running inside and outside every 5 seconds too like everyone else on staff and only those behind the bar have access to the canned coffees. However- a runner dropped our appetizers off really quickly (btw the ceviche is bland and a rather sad portion for $20, so skip it) and we had to flag another server down after waiting for our server awhile because our server just kinda dumped off our drinks in a hurry and never asked if we had wanted to order food or how our appetizers were (which, whatever on the second part of that statement, not a big deal at all usually but I feel it relevant to include because of what happens next in our what would come to be a two-hour and some change visit, yikes). When the server we had flagged came back with our refills, our original server reappeared to ask if we’re okay and how everything is. I also overheard that the tables around us also had some struggles (because we were sat on top of each other quite closely table setting-wise)- one table had a missing appetizer and the other table their food was wrong. Our food took just under a billion years to arrive but looked and tasted very good and was correct temp (Shrimp Tacos and The Beef Dip). The manager then came by awhile later to the two remaining tables (us and a party of 6 to 8ish) and asked them if they wanted dessert or anything but didn’t check in with us about if we needed anything. She only half-asked how we were, which is also weird and inconsistent. A nice thing our server did was comp a dessert for us because she knew we had waited forever (unfortunately, we also waited about 20 minutes to get out to us, what the heck is this place doing lol) but I don’t feel like she should have to do that as an apology for the experience. I think the restaurant/management needs to be the one do that as an acknowledgment and more importantly do better the their staff because the servers are trying their hardest, I watched them bust their butts this entire visit. Management needs to address the staff’s needs adequately and provide them with what they need to effectively manage tables without running them ragged because this experience was pretty lame and I don’t feel this is on the servers in my opinion. All of this is pointing to poor management because it seems disorganized and hectic and probably something to do with poor scheduling too. When I see everyone on staff looking this stressed and it feeling this hectic despite there not being much of a crowd, it upsets me (for the staff). This location needs to do way better for its staff so they can do their jobs well without it being stressful to this point for them and uncomfortable and underwhelming for its patrons. I will leave you with some positives: - The outside patio is temperature controlled amazingly - the food is still amazing at this location - the outdoor portion of this location is very pretty - there are pretty decent parking options adjacent to this location - the bathrooms were pretty dang clean - our server was very nice when we got more than 5 seconds of her time (I feel bad for her, this isn’t a dig) - patio is dog friendly; has a nice cornhole setup

Came here by myself around 5pm on a Saturday and got a table on the patio. Loved the shady trees, the music and atmosphere were a great place to unwind. The mix of crowd was nice, people on date night and people post workout. I felt very welcomed and accommodated being a single guest at this restaurant.

Menu isn’t anything crazy or spectacular but we all loved our meals - we go the flat iron, rigatoni, burger & Mediterranean salad. Everyone liked their dish and our waitress was great! Even late on a Monday evening the vibes were awesome. Good spot for a group who can’t decide on what they want - lots of options.

Good food, chill ambiance, and nice specialty drinks. Got the charcuterie and wings as appetizers, and the turkey club and house rigatoni as main dish. Topped it all of with a few drinks and the bread pudding which was amazing. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

I don't know if I'd quite say it's 5 stars, but it's close. The herb chicken was very tasty and well portioned. Lots of outdoor seating with plenty of shade makes for a nice, easy-going atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back here. Also restaurants parking in the back

Had lunch there today because I've heard nothing but good things. I was definitely not disappointed. The atmosphere is great, the service was above and beyond (thanks to our server Rebecca, she was awesome), and the food was excellent, especially the butterscotch bread pudding for dessert. Will definitely be coming back! Love this place! =D

We read really great reviews so we were eager to enjoy Vig's and we did. After a 30 minute wait, we enjoyed a good dinner of mac and cheese with short ribs and the steak and sprouts. Our server made really good beer recommendations and was very attentive. It's a very young and hip atmosphere for sure and the food was decent but I get the impression that you go to The Vig to be 'seen'. I'm giving it 3 stars because it was okay but not great.

A great place for the people to walk to if they live nearby. The Vig had a great atmosphere and the staff is extremely friendly. I was choosing between the French Onion Burger and the Best Turkey Burger. With a little help from the bartender she recommended the French Onion. Definitely a great choice my burger was cooked perfectly. The caramelized onions with arugula taste it absolutely amazing.

Fantastic, I could eat here every time I come to Phoenix. Food was awesome. The traditional wing sauce is their own house sauce and it it fantastic. The wing were done very well and full of flavor. Topped off with a cold beer it was definitely worth the walk from our hotel. Let us not forget about the friendly staff. Great to walk into a place and be greeted immediately. We chose to sit at the bar and recognized right away with drink offer and menu's. This place has a calm and relaxing atmosphere as well. Whether you sit inside or out on their deck. If you're in the area looking for great place to eat with reasonable prices, you gotta eat here or hey, just pop in and enjoy a cocktail or cold beer. Highly recommend this place The VIG. Put it on you list... (I was so caught up in the experience I didn't get many photos) just look um up!.. :o)

We have been here twice. In both cases no one was working the bar on a Sunday. Today we sat at the bar and waited for someone to acknowledge us for about 10 minutes only to be told to wait for the hostess to seat us. Im sorry but your operations are poor and need re evaluation. I suggest the owner or manager consider changes.

I ate here with my sister on January10, 2018. We ordered the Grilled Wedge Salad, the Maple Glazed Salmon and the Seasonal Dessert which was an apple crisp a la mode. It was plenty of food for two people and was about $50 pre-tip. The salad was wonderful, slightly tossed and had the perfect amount of salad dressing. The salmon was amazing...crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. When we asked our server how the chef cooked the salmon he came out to our table and explained exactly how to replicate his recipe. The apple crisp was okay...I prefer a bit more crisp. Everything on the menu looked tasty and I can't wait to go back and try something new.

The food is super bland. Very good for old people or people who don't season their food. The best they have to offer is their brunch drinks. The music and vibe is good then and only then. Go see for yourself.

I've always liked the Vig. The Vig downtown is their best location. I lived down the street when they first opened and I have watched the restaurant progress into what it is now. The staff is friendly and the environment is lovely. They have complimentary valet parking which is helpful in the downtown area. Unfortunately I cannot give 5 stars. The food is very good but the portions are too small to enjoy. Also the cut of meat I received had a large portion of fat in the center which speaks volumes about the quality of their ingredients. I would recommend this place for snacks and drinks but not much more than that.

Stood at the bar for 10 minutes and no one asked if we wanted anything. Got seated ordered calamari and it was slightly overcooked and very greasy. No appetizer plates. Bloody Mary’s with no garnish. Waited for more than a half an hour for shrimp tacos and a salad. Still waiting. I have no idea how this place got 4.5 stars.

It took ~ 1 hr to get our food. For a party of 8 they brought out 2 plates, 3 plates, 2 plates & then the last one. By the time the last plate came out the 1st person serviced was halfway done. My neice's chicken was so rubbery she she asked for another one. A >15% service charge was added to our bill that we had to pay for so-so service.

No complaints about there server I had. The food took over an hour to get to the table, but that’s obviously not the servers fault. I also had a re-fire on my dish as the chicken was over cooked. The server comped my meal and dessert. But overall our entire table disliked the food, one of us got sick and the wait was insane.

We had brunch at The Vig McDowell Mtn a few weeks ago. Had the avocado toast and it was amazing. Had it today at Fillmore location and it was terrible. We got only one piece of toast not two and Had to ask for a steak knife because we could not cut the toast it was so tough. How does one location give you half of a serving that the other one gives you?
