Talk about an experience. Firstly to use an old church and make it ta Taco restaurant gives such a nice vibe. As a woodworker I appreciate the woodworking inside. The decorations are tasteful and still tie into the vibe of the church and culture. The Tacos were great. Guacamole and 4 options of sauces. It's definitely some place I want to come back to. We did have a large group for a work event and it went very smoothly. Staff was amazing and the south end of the church was able to accommodate all of us.

Overall, Taco Guild was a good experience. It’s inside what looks like an old church with stained glass windows and Bible verses on the windows. Service was excellent and the menu large. My grilled shrimp tacos on flour were so tasty as was the elote. The warm chips and four salsas they bring out for free hit the spot too. However, my wife said her pork taco was horrible. They have a large drink menu, including hard cider and sours. The strawberry rhubarb sour was good!

Our first experience and it was nice. Good decor and unique. We got sat next to the restroom and could smell it which wasn't ideal. The history on the walls was neat to read. The food and drinks were good, little pricey imo. I had the Smoke on the Water margarita and would order it again. I love a good craft drink! There were 4 salsas and I liked them all!

The church history is cool but it's the food you should care about. Guacamole was a little bland and the queso was ok. But the tacos and drinks were outstanding. Coconut shrimp and beef tacos were standouts, corn tortillas made well. Great service, cool people. And so many types of tacos leaves me wanting more!

A heavenly dining experience! The only place in Phoenix where Mexican food acends to the next level - between all of the sauces and dips, the massive tacos and grilled burritos, fresh chips - all in a celestial atmosphere with divine service from Sara. And the food was made and brought to us at a supernatural speed. Definitely will return again.

As someone from the East Coast, I visited Phoenix on a whim, and with the only intent being to find "Mexican food that I simply can't track down easily back home." Every single stop for tacos was, of course, on a different scale than any Mexican food I'd had a chance to try before, but Taco Guild was a special little stop while on a vintage clothes shopping spree in the nearby area. Our server was extremely helpful in making the 'best of the best' choices off the menu, and was beyond knowledgeable on how to dissect it around a Celiac Allergy. That alone always makes me feel seen and special. The trio of tacos offered were beyond any expectation. House pressed soft corn tortilla. Every ounce of love and care needed to make the ingredients shine independently and as a cohesive unit. If you get a hankering for some really, really good Mexican Cuisine, I had zero regrets across the board. Extra Extra points for the stained glass murals and open, vaulted ceilings. The decor, atmosphere, and overall presentation leaves a memory I'll admire fondly. And food that I'll be envious I can't find easily now that I'm back home. 5/5 across the board <3

It was our 41st wedding anniversary, and we were delighted to find this beautiful restaurant to celebrate. We loved everything about it - the food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was mind-blowing. It was touching how true to its roots they stuck when conceptualizing this restaurant. The stained glass windows, the bar "altar" area, the pews for seating, and the photo collages of the original church and parishioners. All just so charming and we absolutely loved it. So much so that when we had family in from out of town a few weeks later, we couldn't wait to bring them there! Shout out to our lovely server, Kelly. She was a doll!! We wish the Taco Guild the best of everything - thanks for a beautiful place to come for dinner!!

Amazing tacos! Great place to brings friends and family from out of town. Besides the whole church aspect, which is hilarious, the food is amazing! The tacos are very expensive however $6/7 EACH. They were pretty packed with filling tho and they were super delicious. The guild street corn is also top notch not to mention the salsas - very spicy and they have an excellent authentic taste.

What a great place! Love the ambience and the fact the building is an old church, stained glass windows and all! Full bar. Chips and salsa were very good. Lots of tacos to choose from. I chose the Chicken Tinga, the El Pastor and a taco with roasted cauliflower/cabbage (don't remember the name). All were delicious. Only complaint was the corn shell fell apart as soon as I picked it up so had to eat it with a fork. 🤷 My friend ordered the charred romaine salad which she absolutely loved. I will definitely come back!👍

The tacos were great, i really enjoyed each one I had but some of the salsas that came with the chips were amazing! I couldn't stop eating the chips because the salsas were so good. The tacos are more on the gourmet side than actually street style, that's not a bad thing but there is a difference between the two so I'm just pointing that out. The beans were the only thing that was kinda meh, different style that I'm used to. Staff was super helpful with menu and great service. Great place for a "fancier" taco if that's what you're in mood for and the prices reflect that. Will come back.

Came here after a business meeting with an out-of-town manager. Absolutely delicious food. Service was impeccable. Love the atmosphere, except the noise level. I guess if you're inside an old church you're going to get that. Not a reason not to go.

My wife and I went here based on the reviews we saw and the uniqueness of the building itself. While the inside of this place is gorgeous and really cool, the food was far from good, we ordered 3 different dishes and not one tiny bit of flavor in any of these dishes, although everything looked nice it was all very bland. I believe this is more of a hang out spot for people to do happy hour more then it is a place to go for great food since we witnessed Alot of people drinking. We really love Mexican food but this place really fell very far from the mark. It's the 1st time I've ever had bland, tasteless Mexican food in all my years of being a foodie. We were very disappointed so we left most the dishes there, paid and went to our friends place who made excellent tacos which made up for the night. Will we go back, no definitely not!

I loved the ambiance and the structure of the restaurant! The service was pretty good and our server was efficient. I had the steak tacos and their street corn, and it was tasty! Their restrooms are also really pretty and clean. I saw that they also had brunch specials so I would certainly love to come back for that.

FEED ME TACOS AND TELL ME I'M PRETTY! I heard of this place on food TV and I love Tacos so, there you go. I live in Seattle, and This is one of the first places I think of returning to every time I'm in town. I've been here a few times now, and it doesn't disappoint... well, perhaps in one area. My most recent visit had me eating their day before Thanksgiving special... a Thanksgiving-inspired taco with turkey, cranberries, mashed potato, and other flavors of the big meal. This, alongside a falafel taco and a fish taco... love fish tacos. All three were amazing. I've had other interesting tacos, including the duck. Their tortillas are lovely too. I'm a corn tortilla fan, and at this place, I'm a flour tortilla fan as well. The Chips are light and thin, very crisp, and yet still allow me to dig into their fabulous salsas! I can be a bit of a spice wuss, but sometimes the flavor is so good I sweat it out. The inventive cocktails are great, too. It's all just too much to list here so I'll toss up a couple of pics, and you'll just have to check out the menu or stop in to see what the specials are... Turkey Taco! Our server was more than attentive and her recommendations were spot on. Now for the area of needed improvement. On my first trip in a few years ago, they had this amazing phrase mounted and illuminated on their wall next to the entry. I so wanted a T-shirt of it... apparently, men don't like to be fed Tacos or to be told they are pretty because, like back then my trip a few weeks ago I was met with the same disappointment... No men's T-shirt with "Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty", only women's. I'm not opposed to a snug-fitting T but ladies T's just aren't cut right for my 6' 4" stature. Perhaps I'll have to whip one up myself. Happy Tacoing!

We lived a couple blocks from here and dined at Taco Guild several times. The street corn, queso, and tacos are tasty and fresh. The best part of the visit is viewing the renovated church. It is a bit pricey for what you get and you can find better quality Mexican in Phoenix. That said, if you’re in the neighborhood already, it’s worth a try.

The atmosphere is absolutely stunning. The bar is the centerpiece of the show however they include don't be mistaken from their stained glass windows to pictures, pews and menus everything has been repurposed. Its old world style meets new world flavors. I would say this is a go to for a memory making experience. The menu is ever change so you can never get bored. For a more relaxing time I would recommend visiting for an early afternoon dinner. Expect the night life on late night weekends.

So if your looking for an over priced, over salted taco, look no further. Yes, you pay $5-8 for a street taco. The mushroom barbacoa taco is extremely difficult to eat. Besides making it impossible to fold your little 2 inch taco over the filling, the filling itself was mushy and extremely salty. Like mushy enough it almost made you gag. Eating here, you basically pay for the scenery. Service was great though. Overall, not a place I'd be returning to any time soon.

Like church...but for tacos. So, so good! I split three tacos and street corn with my friend and we were both stuffed! We got cauliflower, pork, and lobster and they were all delicious and overflowing. I was surprised at how generous the portions were, especially for the lobster tacos. We were ravin' about Raven, who was our excellent server.

HOLY Taco. I can say i am pleasantly surprised by the amazing food and staff. This restaurant is set in a old catholic church built in the 1800. As i sit in what used to be the entry way looking at the beautiful antique stained glass windows and old chandelier I can almost imagine the priest shacking hands with parishioners right where i sit. The Taco Guild is worth every penny plus some. When you're done eating be sure to walk around and look at everything. *DONT FORGET TO MASK UP*

The atmosphere and architecture blew me away when I first arrived at Taco Guild. The high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows looked like they were part of the original church, but I forgot to ask. We arrived just before 5pm Sunday night, during happy hour. Once seated we were greeted by Raven who was super cute and very helpful. I ordered three street tacos, the cherry chipotle, lamb, and my and Ravens favorite the cauliflower taco. I would recommend visiting this fun little spot tucked away. The tacos and drinks and chips were fantastic.

Creative tacos with contrasting flavors served in an open structure, renovated church. The bar and restaurant ambiance is nice. The customer service is on point. After You're seated they bring chips and 4 different salsas. The Guacamole and the Borracho beans are excellent.

Awesome spot. I had a ton of tacos while on this trip to Arizona and this was my favorite. My friend told me I should just get the brisket tacos and I tried multiple and I should have just gotten the brisket. It’s the move for sure. They are incredibly filling with large meat portions, 3 was honestly too much for me. Great margs, plenty of seating for large groups, fun and well designed space.

Comes off as a higher class, w down to earth feel. Prices are not deadly. As much as I love the atmosphere and design, and I dig their salsa flavors; I really feel like the service could be a lot better considering how they want to package this place. I have truly enjoyed their tacos before. Last meal was good but average and no where near as good as La Santisima's!! Very, very few options at all. Idk. It's "cool", but it also feels very "empty". And no, that is not because it is so big and has ceilings!! not that kind of empty. We all have opinions right! What is yours?

My friends and I visited this cool restaurant based on a tip from a local who one of our friends chatted up doing personal business by phone. Great tip! I would start out saying that this rating is actually 4.5 stars. Other than our server who was slow, not terribly attentive and then misunderstood us, this restaurant is fantastic. Great tequila collection with great margaritas and other tequila cocktails. Food was also amazing with handmade corn tortillas that are fresh, great salsas and great taco fillings. The tortilla chips were of course fantastic as well. We ate far too many due to our slow service. Definitely recommend and hope that they train up all of their servers.

Taco Guild is great. Some of the best margaritas I’ve had in Phoenix. The food is mostly very good, with one or two misses over my handful of visits. The tacos are very solid, but it occasionally feels like they try to do a bit too much, or be too exploratory in the flavor combinations. Sometimes they hit, other times it misses. The atmosphere is very cool, set in an old church with beautiful murals and stained glass. We’ve always enjoyed our servers and bartenders, finding all to be very knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to talk with. It might not be the best tacos in the city, but for the drinks and atmosphere I will happily be making Taco Guild a staple.

I’ve heard a lot about this place and Sunday funday sounded like the perfect time to give this spot a try. The venue is an entire vibe. I love the commitment to the church theme. Even the menus at the front mimic hymn books and bibles. If you’re looking to grab a drink head to the bar. Our bartender was attentive and provided great suggestions. We ended up selecting margaritas and we weren’t disappointed. I love the complimentary chips and multiple salsa options. I ordered the lamb tacos and although the meat was tender and good eating it as a taco was a bit challenging. The grease from the meat was a bit much and I didn’t want to risk a tummy ache. My friend ended up ordering shrimp tacos and cerci he both of which she stated he enjoyed very much. Now I would say there are a few things to mentally prepare for One the parking is horrendous because they are located near other prime venues. They share a parking lot with Starbucks and Buffalo Exchange so be patient while parking Secondly, the price for tacos is a la carte and for many it may be challenging to validate the price. Perhaps take into consideration as you look at the ingredients these are top notch ingredients but of course decide for yourself

What a surprise! A taco place in an old church! Walking in you are greeted by a very welcoming bar. The space is very inviting and you just feel comfortable sitting at a table with the vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and peaceful feel of the place. We had the taco combination with cherry steak, cubano and lamb tacos. All were great, tender, juicy meat, deep complex flavors, tender and well accompanied with toppings designed to enhance the taco. The Oaxacan enchiladas where delicious as well. The beans were perfect. Service was fast, friendly and very knowledgeable of the food.

Really enjoyed this place! I had been hearing about it from friends, but just hadn't made it over yet. I love Mexican food and this place has some great spins on traditional Mexican fare! Tacos were awesome. My wife had the quesadilla and loved it. The service was outstanding - some of the most attentive, friendly and knowledgeable I've ever had. The atmosphere is also really amazing and different. This is an old church, converted into a restaurant/bar. It's amazing just to look around at the stained glass and painted ceilings. The old altar is the bar, which is an interesting commentary all on its own! Great experience and enthusiastically recommended!

We don't make it up to Phoenix very often, but this was a restaurant that I had been waiting to try. We went to a show and it seemed like the perfect chance to at least check out the outside and see if it was something we wanted to eat. Walking in, I was amazed by the old mission style decor, the huge chandelier and the beautiful stained glass. It's a very open style dining room but it's still feels warm and cozy. It wasn't overly busy, and we were seated right away. Our waiter, Frank was very personable and had great speedy service. We ordered the green chili queso and I'm not even exaggerating when I say my husband and I both wanted to drink it and take a bath in it. Their chips were crispy and the complimentary salsa was also absolutely delicious. Next we went with a plate of chicken tinga enchiladas with rice and beans, street corn and two tacos. We had the carnitas taco and the chicken tinga taco. First off, they do not skimp on the meat. Secondly, they hand make all the corn tortillas. And it shows. They were thick and chewy and had a great mouthfeel. The enchiladas were cheesy and the roja sauce was earthy and a bit spicy but not overly so. I will make the drive up to Phoenix anytime to come back and eat at the Taco Guild. Give it a try, you definitely won't regret it.

I had a wonderful evening spending time with some friends at this location. It was my first time here and the food and drinks were delicious! I had the enchiladas and Pineapple Penicillin cocktail. I would highly recommend both. I also love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the chips and salsa served comes with 4 different salsa choices, which was awesome. The next time I visit Phx area, I would love to come back again!

This is our go to place before going to the Botanical Gardens a few minutes away. The chips are great and the guacamole is superb. And the lamb is my personal favorite. The decor is a converted church with large murals of Rembrandt. Portions of the night watch perhaps. And of course there is the tequila.

Very disappointed after reading all the great reviews. Their main salsa that did not have any flavor or heat...just canned tomato. The guacamole was creamy, but again, missing lime juice and salt. All the tacos were very dry. They really needed crema, aioli, salsa or dressed slaw to make them more appealing. We will not return.

  • 4/5 Matthew A. 3 years ago on Google
Fresh and homemade. Overall the vegan selection was fine. We were not thrilled with the cauli tacos. Needed cooked a bit longer to either be crisp or softer. They almost were raw and crunchy. Literally corn tortillas pressed in house though. We aren't margarita people so I can't say they were bad. Just not our taste. Fresh chips at the table were bomb though!

This was my first time at Taco Guild. As I walked in, I was greeted by several employees which made me feel comfortable and welcomed. Our waitress Bree was awesome. She was very patient and knew the menu well. I don’t think she ever stopped smiling. I had the mushroom Barbacoa taco on a corn tortilla. First, that was enough for two tacos and I love that they had vegan options other than just salads. I’d go again and maybe for happy hour.

5-6 dollar tacos while they taste good are way overpriced. Drinks were also overpiced and came in small glasses. Food was decent but not outstanding. Rice was dried out. Ambiance was truly amazing though, great big beautiful building.

This place has amazing food, amazing staff, and amazing atmosphere. The tacos were delicious, the margaritas were strong, and the queso was tasty. Went here tonight with my husband for dinner and we didn’t enjoy the food at all. We each got a plate with 3 different tacos and ALL tacos tasted bad and pricey($5-6 each) from the store bought flower tortillas to unseasoned meat and barely any sauce. We also ordered the queso which we enjoyed, it just was not enough to satisfy us since we did not like the tacos. Oh and the sides of rice and corn were just as bad as the tocos. Sad we did not enjoy the food because they’re only 5min away from us and would’ve loved to go there again. Service was nice the reason I gave it two stars.

I ordered the taco plate with chicken. You get 3 tacos and a free side dish. I chose the street corn for an extra charge of $2. So 3 salty chicken tacos and street corn side came out to $18.50! The tacos were the tiny size too, but did come with a generous portion of meat. My husband had a similar meal but his side was 4 slices of avocado. We ordered queso dip for appetizers and one house margarita. Our total bill came to $75 with a standard tip. I think that price is too high for what we received.

  • 4/5 918 S. 3 years ago on Google
Love this place but this is the second time the tacos were very salty and the prices are too high in my option. Got a margarita (frozen) it was extremely good but $10 for a approx 8oz drink is way too much. Great place to visit once a year. We would visit more if it was affordable.

Went in recently for the first time. I ordered 3 Tacos with the “Free” side . The tacos were okay, not worth $5-6 each, cherry steak has the most flavor , the rice was hard. 1 Shrimp 1 Carnitas 1 Cherry steak problem was I get the bill and the free side was not free , so waiter “corrects” the receipt but doesn’t adjust the charges on my card. Okay Thanks for charging me for $4 for a side of hard rice tht was suppose to be free for buying 3 tacos. I won’t go here again. $28 dollars a 3 taco meal with rice cost me, No drink either just water.

Really disappointed. Tacos were incredibly dry; the mound of sweet potato “hay” did not help. The lamb taco tasted entirely of blue cheese and was overwhelming and not my cup of tea. The guacamole had no flavor, it was like just eating avocados with no seasoning or additional ingredients. The queso was great. If you want over the top tacos, this is your kind of place. If you want traditional street tacos, I’d find somewhere else.

The food was not worth the price. The horchata was thick and slimy. The tortillas were hard. You can easily make better shrimp tacos at home and the rice tasted like nothing but butter. It kinda felt like a slap in the face to my Mexican culture. First and last time coming here

  • 3/5 James M. 3 years ago on Google
Not that impressed with the food. The salsa tasted like store bought instead of house made. The menu says the churo bites are made fresh but when you ask the waiter he said they are deep fried there daily but aren't made fresh. Overall a step or two above taco bell.

Dining as a party of two or more? Encanto Village; Phoenix- Taco Guild is where you want to be. Full dining room + gorgeously lit patio accommodations provide a lounge-esque setting for your next outing. Masterfully designed interior with skillful lighting concept; both within the dining room and patio. Comfortable, relaxing & easy on the eyes. Are you someone who understands and appreciates the aesthetic utilization of lighting & are looking to relax? Reserve a table now. On the topic of tacos- the guild offers every variety under the Sonoran sun. Shrimp? Carne? Barbacoa? Lamb? ...Chipotle Cherry Steak? Tacos of nearly every variety made with high-quality ingredients line the menu list. With that being said, you *are* paying for quality at a moderately high price point. Value ratio is fair for quality of ingredients received. Not in the mood for tacos/dining with an alternative dietary preference? The guild contains an entire sub-section dedicated to regional Oaxaca Bowls. Vegans, pescatarians & vegetarians will experience limited difficulty when dining at Taco Guild. Dietary friendly offerings with plenty to choose from. Where to sit for the best experience? We chose the patio, which was again; gorgeously lit & featured live mist with guests comfort in mind. When dining at Taco Guild, I recommend starting with green chile queso (fire roasted green chilies, cheese blend) + guacamole (jalapeno, cilantro, lime, red onion, tomatoes, cotija cheese). Both, pair fabulously with complimentary house made chips and salsa- standard with all orders. For your entreé? I chose the house's recommendation: "taco meal kit" - x3 tacos + x1 side. My gulf shrimp tacos paired seamlessly with cobbed "guild style" street corn (habanero butter, chipotle aioli, cotija cheese). Creatively crafted cocktails, sides & desserts further affirm the Taco Guilds' fluency in Southwest Cuisine. Warm, sugared churros + Mexican chocolate sauce commenced our meals flawlessly. Would I return? Absolutely, yes. My visit was comfortable & relaxing. Difficult to achieve & my latest favorite venue to end a summer evening with friends.

I took my girlfriend to Taco Guild to have the best Tacos and drinks in Phoenix, and to ask her to be my wife. The staff was so helpful and accommodating (the waitress took a video of the proposal), the food was so amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you for another incredible night!

Went there for my birthday. Loved the confession hour (happy hour) specials!! Super great service. My mom even lost her earring and when we called after, the hostess was super kind, went to look at our table, and took down contact info in case it turned up. Love this place, would give them 100/10 of I could!!

Mind blowing. The name "Taco Guild" is well-earned by the genius chefs who have created this menu. Hot, fresh food and a comfortable atmosphere is what you'll have at this amazing local restaurant. I loved the selection of complimentary salsas and hot, crispy homemade chips.

  • 5/5 Wes H. 3 years ago on Google
Really cool atmosphere and somewhere different to take your date or friends/family. Has a good drink menu and they are creative with some of their cocktails. The food is really good, again unique offerings for your regular street tacos including lobster. Worth a try, get 3 and they will throw in a free side. Price is on the expensive side. But it's a nicer place and not typical. I'm sure there are a ton for cheaper and good Mexican places around here but you're paying for the atmosphere really.

Taco Good at Taco Guild Two plant-based taco options for dinner, clearly labeled. 1. Sweet potato (order this!): lightly charred with red curry on a bed of chimichurri topped with peanuts and micro greens….flavor and texture in your mouth for dayzzz. 2. Pibil jackfruit: that earthy roast of the jackfruit with the heat of the jalapeño cut by the tanginess of the pickled onion with just a hint of sweetness…uff! Order three tacos and get a side free. Start with the sweet potato, graduate to the jackfruit, then round it out with the sweet potato again with borracho beans (w/o the cotija) on the side. Pros: Outdoor seating for dog owners

Beautiful setting but fell short of our expectations. The Nachos and wings were really good for appetizers but the tacos were subpar compared to so many restaurants in the valley.

This place is insanely cool - delicious street tacos in a gorgeous former Methodist church. I'd definitely recommend the three-taco plate with the Molinda Lamb and Chicken Tinga being my favorites. The cocktail menu is also fairly impressive with all the drinks named after religious terms. A definite must go if you're in North Phoenix.

Had 3 tacos carnitas, coconut shrimp and cherry beef with a side of street corn. Also had a horchata to drink. Food was fast and great. Our waiter was great. We were ready to order our churro bites for desert when a party of 6 got seated. Our waiter seemed to forget about us. We had to let him know we wanted to order them after a long wait took a bit for it to be served. We then wanted to pay .....waited.......and he was very apologetic for the wait. He was a great waiter just felt like we got put on the back burner as soon as that party of 6 came in. Seriously a great place, a great meal and overall a good waiter.

I work in the area and started going here when it opened. The food & drinks have always been really good but we'd basically given up on the place since the service/kitchen was sooo slow every time. Tonight I had a little happy hour on the patio with friends. Rayven was our server and she was great. Very personable and attentive. Even wore a cool, Grinch-themed mask.😀 The drinks were really good, the chips & guac was good, but I can't say if the food was good or not. We took a few orders to go and went our separate ways. When I got home I had the wrong food. Add one more kitchen problem to the list. Of course, it was something I couldn't eat. I hear my carnitas burrito was good though.😥

Always a great spot for a date or meeting up with friends. Chips and salsa on point! Here during covid and everything was properly social distanced as well as staff wearing masks- yay! Our server Raven was a doll- she was prompt, efficient, and always kept water and drinks coming. Thanks for a great atmosphere and bomb food Taco Guild :) Updated 12/16/20: Victor MADE our evening. Also he has excellent style

This was a fun experience for a group of friends! The inside is beautifully restored from an old church- the chips and salsa come with several kinds of sauce ranging in heat and flavor. I wish I would have opted for the tacos instead of the grilled romaine but it just sounded so good. Unfortunately it smelled like a cigarette when it came out which just really killed my appetite, the tacos looked great though and the vibe was awesome!

So I’m here a second day with different friends and same lovely server, Destiny is taking care of me at the same table! I love this place. The staff is delightful and the food is always fantastic. Why not 5? Nothing is perfect and there’s always room for improvement? TBH, not being able to substitute my breakfast burrito with shrimp, was my only disappointment. 4.5? Well, Destiny gets 5, indeed!!! I’ll be back with friends, family and my lovely wife. Cheers!

Food that I and my wife ordered was mediocre at best. I had the burrito with carne asada. The first thing I noticed was the lack of flavor. The second is that the meat used was crusted on the edges. Telling me that it had been sitting for sometime. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas. It was Ok. The restaurant was very nice inside. If anything go to check it out as it was a church dating back to late 1800’s. Much of the glass and decor was saved. Will I come back? Probably not. But we enjoyed our visit.

What a clever, enjoyable restaurant! Not only does the Guild serve great food, they check so many boxes of a well-managed restaurant. Excellent service, clever branding, cleanliness, great beer, wine, and cocktails and plenty of handmade touches on their menu. Hot chips that are still sparkling from the fryer, tacos on handmade tortillas, fresh herbs, and delicious salsas. The Taco Guild might be the most "Arizona" restaurant in Arizona.

Oh my God!! The BEST Mexican food I have ever had!! Please don't miss this place if you visit Phoenix! The tortilla chips and dips are to die for and that's just the free appetizer I am talking about!

Excellent location, a church converted into a taqueria! They have over 200 tequila to choose from and a huge variety of tacos and food. Try the street corn it was delicious! The staff were very busy, but despite the business, the food came out hot and quick, the drinks were refilled regularly, and the price was very honest. Very clean restrooms. Definitely worth giving them a try, and such a unique location.

Fantastic atmosphere and our server Christian was the best. You have to try the strawberry hot sauce wings and of course the tacos 🌮 were fresh and tasted great. Had a nice margarita too. My only concern was our table was wobbly. Other than that you have to try this fine establishment!

  • 3/5 Tracey S. 1 year ago on Google
Very interesting place. Food was good but I wish they had a beef choice for tacos that wasn't shredded beef. The only real problem we had was our waiter, I think his name was Frank, asked if we wanted more chips then never brought them to us. I'm sure we will be back the next time we are on that side of town. We were there on Saturday and it wasn't overly busy.

  • 3/5 Cassy R. 9 months ago on Google
I ordered 3 different Tacos 🌮, they are like $8 each, lamb taste was really strong even for me who loves lamb and salty, carnitas was salty and dry, Al pastor was okay, but can’t taste any pineapple. All of them taste the same to me and salty, I had to put guacamole on it to tone it down. Salsa for the chips were the best. Waiter was super nice, building is a historic church.

So glad to have discovered this place - so unique! I love the building and atmosphere. The service was great + they had live music which was wonderful. It was a Friday night & not too busy at all - no wait for a table. We had the enchiladas, lamb taco, Cubano taco, cherry steak taco, queso, and tres leches. I had the basic marg and it didn’t taste like much, a pass from me. The tequila old fashioned however was up there with some of the best old fashioneds I’ve ever had - highly recommend. The queso was absolutely delicious, as was all of the salsa they bring. Super fresh and the small ones are unique. Love the habanero salsa. The enchiladas were good but holy cheese haha. Normally I LOVE lots of cheese but it was a bit much here. The tacos were alright but the flour tortillas were old and just not good unfortunately. We wished we’d gotten corn. The cherry steak was absolutely phenomenal - moist, tender, amazing flavor. I think we’d just get three of those next time lol. The street corn was great! The tres leches was just OK but I’ve had a lot of authentic ones in my life so I’m spoiled 😅 Overall it was good, I’d recommend it and I’d go back to try some more.

Love the history of this place! Really cool that they kept a lot of the old pieces of history still inside. You can tell it used to be an old church, and seeing the old pics elevates the experience. Great food!

Great attentive staff. Food was ok. Some was better than others. The pork was dry and a bit bland. The shrimp tacos had amazing flavor. Chips and salsa and guac were super good. So was the corn dip.
