Amazing atmosphere with contributions from local artists! The hamburgers are amazing and the beers are delicious. A few things to improve on however (why it's only a 4 star review): 1. the beer was delicious but was also near room temperature 🌡️. 2. the fish and chips were not up to par with the rest of the menu. So don't bother with those, stick to the red meat here.

Whether your wanting a few beers, some solid bar food, or celebratory hangouts this place is great. That have a separate room with family size table that sits about 15 peeps. The servers were consistently great the few times I have gone. The wings are great! A few hazy’s I had were pretty solid.

The beer selection was impressive. Didn’t have the time to try more than a few but would like to sample more. The server Linda was fabulous. What a memory and very personable. The food was delicious. Pretzels were not too doughy. Buffalo chicken dip was full of chicken.

This place is great. Huge selection of beer, other options to drink, and good food. I had the beer flight to try several items. The staff is very friendly and they obviously enjoy working there. I definitely recommend people visit this spot when they come to the downtown area and it is easy to find the place as you navigate through the downtown.

I always try to dine at locally owned establishments and this place did not disappoint. We stopped in for drinks and an appetizer. The service was top notch and the food was DELICOUS! The ambiance is industrial urban, and tastefully done. Love the art in here. We'll be back to little gem in the city.

Good food and great beer. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The indoor art is amazing and the brewery is definitely worth visiting just to take a look at.

Our server Linda was really cool. We had the 5 beer flight. I personally would skip the cinnamon toast cruch beer, didn't care for it at all. The blood orange Belgian blonde and the rose tattoo Irish Red are definitely worth trying, as are the pretzels. The totchos were good too, just could've used a little more cheese. Not crowded at all on Friday night, however they were out of a few beers and menu items. All in all a chill little spot right off Van Buren and 4th Ave. Being downtown, parking sucks and there are lots of homeless people, just be aware. We actually saw a lady back her Ford escape into a spot that wasn't a parking spot, between a truck and a bike rack, then try to figure out for nearly 10 minutes how to pay a parking meter that wasn't even hers, since she wasn't in a real parking space, then deciding to just walk away lol. I guess it's a good place to people watch too, if you choose the outdoor seating on 4th ave.

Work down the road from here and didn’t know until recently that this place was here. Food is freakin amazing and so are the beers. They have a killer happy hour and would be good for a team happy hour or happy hour with friends. I ordered the beer cheesesteak and it was so delicious. The cheese was on the side for me. The beer pictured is one of their sours, also so tasty! They have so many beers to try and I can’t wait or come back. It wasn’t top pack, great service as well. Overall, amazing experience!

I rarely take the time to rate places but their beer is fantastic. The fact that the beer menu is not 13 different “West Coast IPAs”, 2 “Sours”, and a Cider alone sets it apart. The quality of the beer is up there with the best of them. Do yourself a favor and throw on your mask and head down.

This place is amazing. I came here before the Alec Benjamin Concert and everything was perfect from the food, beers, service and atmosphere. My husband had a flight of beer and I had a couple of cocktails to get ready for the show. Next time I am downtown I will definitely come here.

First time at this brewery and it exceeded our expectations. We are brewery snobs so trust this review when I say delicious food and great beer. The service was on point. Our server Mike has great customer service and didn't mind customizing my sons meal. John a bar tender was amazing. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We are adding this brewery to our top 10 list!

Nice downtown location, within a short walking distance of popular venues. DTPHX is a great addition to the ST48 family of brewery restaurants featuring a a large tap with a solid selection of their own beers and a few from other local breweries, as well as a number canned beers featuring local breweries and national brands. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly — quickly serving up the ST48 familiar and unique menu selections.

Jessica was our bartender tonight after the dbacks game. We were not sure what we wanted and let her decide...she was spot on every time!! Have the lemon drop, delicious. We tried to go to the pinball place and ended up going back to Jessica. A cool spot for sure. Maybe think of live music. We'll be back.

I went to this place to celebrate a birthday and was told that the burgers were really good… well let me tell you that these burgers exceeded my expectations. I ordered my burger (beer cheese burger) medium and they cooked it to perfection. I can say most places don’t even ask how you want your burger and if they do they still medium well them. Prices are fair for this economy and the quality of the food. The beers were great and very cold. Service was really good also as the decoration and environment. Definitely my new burger joint!!

Ordered spicy chicken sandwich. I was asked to leave a credit card before my order was placed. I asked why I will not be running a tab.Server responded we have had people leave without paying. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich 42 minutes later server arrived with a dry flavorless tough sandwich. This is confusing because the restaurant was 95% empty with plenty of staff.I mentioned to our server that it was not even similar to what I ordered. She stated I will let our manager know.Seems this place is in dire need of management in all departments. Sad because I really wanted to like this place. I left a 40% tip because I know our server wasn’t the cook or manager. I won’t be returning and hope this helps someone else make an informed decision on other dining options available.

Madison is a GREAT bartender. Excellent recommendations and delicious beer. Pretty clean bathrooms. Cool merch. Would highly recommed this place. It was busy when we came, but we sat at the bar and were taken care of promptly. Will be back next time we are in town.

Another great spot I've added to my rotation when staying in downtown Phoenix! The number of beers on tap are a beer lovers "dream come true!" Belgian Triple, Baltic Porters, Hazy IPAs....and the food is top knotch! Savannah took care of me and gave me a lot of help picking which beers were worth trying...there a lot to pic from but she can help you narrow down your preferences! I ordered a Hazy IPA and the P.B.&J. Burger cooked Medium Well...AMAZING!!!!! Oh yes...they even have TVs to watch the game.... I'll be back!

My husband & I stopped in for some food and drinks before the event across the street and had a great experience! Our server Dante was amazing! She was very friendly with superb service! It happened to be a rush time for them because it definitely was busy! Our server was on top of it though and we enjoyed ourselves! Great atmosphere, burgers, drinks, and servers! We definitely will be returning thanks to the great service we received!

Super rude server. We came around the patio side because we had dogs. We thought we were doing the right thing not bringing the dogs inside to the hostess stand. So we tried to find someone to ask to put our name in while standing outside. After everyone ignored us, I asked a server or hostess— not really sure. She was extremely rude to me and told me I needed to go to the hostess stand. I told her we had dogs and didn’t think we should bring them in. She then told me that it was now pointless since we had already sat down. Confused I said, no we have not, I am asking you if we can put our name in for a table outside. She snarked back and said it was pointless now anyway, and went to get us menus. Thoroughly confused, because we had not sat down. She then proceeded to seat a table two away from us and loudly said “thank you for waiting”. Lol. I work in the service industry full time and was appalled to be treated that way. Under no circumstances would I ever be allowed to talk to someone that way. Will not be returning!

Awesome spot in PHX to grab a bite to eat and some of the best beer I have had this year. The service was spot on too. We had the hummus and it was super tasty with some great pita and cucumbers, followed up by an outstanding shrimp ceviche. This is a PHX destination.

new waitress assumed my honey enjoyed Modelo and that I enjoyed margaritas. lol She was wrong! Service was slow. Took 10 min tp be seated. Was talked out of getting what I wanted, brisket. Food was okay. Scene was nice. Outside sitting was beautiful. My babe really enjoyed his peanut butter burger.

The beer and food were both amazing. Had the fish and chips and they were perfectly done, no seasoning or condiments needed. When it comes to beer, I highly recommend the Suncast Hazy IPA, Sound of Freedom IPA and the H£ll Bi+ch Belgian Tripel. Super friendly staff.

I’ve tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. There is so much potential and they just can’t get it right. My boys each asked for their burgers well done and when I had them each cut a piece for me, it was still mooing.

We were only in town for the weekend for a baseball game at Chase Field. A friend told us not to leave Phoenix without trying State 48 Brewery. So, we checked out of our hotel a little early and headed to the brewery before going to the airport. I am so glad that we did. It was really early so they weren't super busy yet. We were greeted by a wonderful young lady. She was pleasant and friendly, We actually sat and chatted with the staff while we tried a few of the local beers. They were fun, knowledgable about their beer and great to talk to. This place has beautifully painted walls that any art lover will appreciate. The building appears old and it has an amazing vibe. There are many, many great beers to choose from so it's worth it go get a flight (or two). Try the sour! It made me want to miss my flight. Our only regret is that we didn't go here sooner. We would have liked to have had more time to sit, have a good beer, order a meal and hang out. This is a great place with great staff AND really great beer!

We’ve been sitting here for over an hour waiting for appetizers. We also waited about 30 minutes to get anyone to our table. And another 10 (40 minutes) to get water. Our waitress is doing the best she can but but for my first experience here it’s a bummer because I’ll not come back and def won’t recommend. Additionally, the host/restaurant manager was rude and had an attitude. Kinda wild. It’s one thing to acknowledge that you’re not prepared or staffed for the night but when you can control your attitude towards guests like we are the problem and not the whole point of this place…it’s a shame. I’ll update with how long it actually takes to get food. Not feeling confident.

Never have a good experience here. It’s one thing or another. Decided to finally leave a review because we were escorted outside due to a gas leak risk. The assumed manager who informed us was outside as well and sitting a table behind us. We sat and watched along 4th Ave as the kitchen staff came out, stood behind this manager, and catcalled women driving up to the stop sign on Van Buren. It was disgusting and they all kept laughing. The women were visibly perturbed. It was so annoying and uncomfortable that even my husband who tends to ignore more things got irate himself. A female worker mentioned to one of the male workers later that she was being harassed and a bunch of employees booed her for saying “the big HR word”. Disgusting. I don’t want to come back after this goof up.

A friend and I went to State 48 after attempting to go to the fair. We were seated quickly, but took a while before we were asked for drinks and our orders. Once we received our burgers, they were not cooked to order. They were not medium as ordered, burned charcoal tasting. We stayed with half our burgers on the plate for the rest of the night, took a while before we received our bill to pay. It wasn’t that busy otherwise we’d understand the wait. It seemed like no one wanted to be there, and our food was major disappointment. I prefer the Glendale location.

I like State 48 a lot, but there is no "dine in with social distancing." Everything is the same and the staff don't even wear masks. Listen, I get it. Masks are inconvenient. But all the inconvenience in the world is probably worth your customers' lives. Be responsible.

Have come here several times before and had my first bad experience tonight. Great food and beer as always, but our table was completely forgotten about after we were served or food. We ordered another round which took about a half hour and us flagging down our server to get. Our server (who was a nice guy) told my girlfriend he was going to box up her leftover food and bring our check. Another 20 minutes go by and we had to ask the hostess for our check. We asked about the boxed food and the manager came around and apologized because he said he threw it away because he saw it just sitting out. Understandable, but why was her food just sitting there? We received a discount on our final bill to account for the leftover food that was thrown out, but we were still disappointed by the way we were treated. I think it all had to do with the fact that we were seated right by the front door. We saw other parties visibly frustrated with how long things were taking. I've always liked this place, so I will give it another shot, but next time I will make sure not to sit in the same area.

The food was very good and they have a very good selection of beer. We went early and it was pretty slow and the service was pretty good except they never brought a spoon for my soup. But over all it was good and I would recommend it. Kind of expensive though 2 people 2 beers was over 60 dollars with tip

I loved this place the moment I walked in. Artwork and their aesthetic was wonderful. Sunny day and we sat at the bar with the perfect amount of shade and sunshine. Our bartender was very attentive and didn't mind us sampling plenty beer before making a decision (since their selection is vast!) The beer - It was difficult to choose because I enjoyed almost every sample. Their blueberry and blood orange beer are to die for. Highly recommended. The food - You MUST have the loaded tater tots (small plate section) forgot the name of the actual dish. Honestly I'm not a HUGE fan of tots but this is a game changer.

Definitely recommend this place. Decent happy hour, good prices. Wonderful staff. Large selection of beers on tap. I don't drink a lot of locally brewed beers, but they had a great mango flavored beer (and like 20 more brewed beers on tap). I also tried a "guest cider" that was delicious. If you are ever in downtown Phoenix, check this place out.

  • 4/5 Joe M. 4 years ago on Google
Food is good, typical pub style. They brew there own draft & selection changes periodically. Place can be noisy as there are no soft surfaces to absorb ambient noise (making conversations difficult when there are a lot of people there). West wall of the restaurant is high glass windows. There is some sunfilm on the glass, but not enough to mitigate the heat from late afternoon sun. So, from May thru Oct, tables along the west wall will be HOT, until the sun goes down.

  • 3/5 Jacqui V. 4 years ago on Google
Thought it was going to be a great place but the cool ambience was dampened by very slow service. My drink was up to the brim with ice so I got about half a glass. Food was pretty good when it finally came but we had no time to enjoy it.

Middle of the road quality, Michelin prices. The food and beer were tasty, but the cost was extravagant. Flights that ended up costing $20, $3 for a glass of soda water from the dispenser (i.e.: not bottled soda water), and significant upcharges for substitutions on menu items. And while it was certainly all quite tasty, it wasn't *so* good that it justified the expense. None of the beer was bad, but neither was any of it extraordinary. I'm glad that I went, but I am unlikely to return.
